A good enough copy of the TV episode, though it doesn't add anything special in terms of art, especially compared to the original Fancy Nancy books.

Just what I feared, Little Miss Perfect (aka Fancy Nancy) has become a brain surgeon. And she's what, five years old???

Goodreaders, no need for alarm. First of all, Fancy Nancy isn't a brain surgeon... yet. Also, she only operates on dolls and other toys.

I do find it astounding that a little girl who is such an exreme fashionista is also a STEM enthusiast. You see, I find it far easier to appreicate how, in the photo on the front jacket flap of my hardcover edition, The Fancy One is standing in perfect Third Position. (In ballet.)"

But yes, really and truly. At last, serious pretend medicine is happening in the fictional world where Fancy Nancy has become a sought-after repair-person for kids's broken toys!

As she confides to her friend Bree:

"I am practically an expert at fixing broken toys."

Heck, then she must be practically-totally ready to go in and operate!

THIS STORY IS REALLY ONE CUT ABOVE (Joke intended.)

Compared to other picture books and early readers I've found where children become doctors, that is. Here I find considerable finesse to the story. As for the complexity of the ultimate operation, where Nancy is ably assisted by Bree... It really is impressive-ish.

Yet still, to me, kind of funny. (Not satirical, but definitely funny.)

For instance, in a medical procedure I would expect a transfusion of blood . Never did I expect such a super-precise pouring of glue

FIVE STARS of impressive adult-like doctoring here! I started this book as a skeptic but I've left it as a smiler.

A Doc McStuffins version of Fancy Nancy. My daughter (7yr) loves learning the French words Nancy uses. We still prefer the original author and illustrator.

Nancy fixes dolls for her friends, but then Nancy breaks Marabelle's arm. Nancy is scared to operate on Marabelle. What will Nancy do?
