This is the second novella of a three book series (The Dirty Thirty Pledge). I didn't read the first one for some reason so the whole pledge thing was mostly lost on me but I still managed to thoroughly enjoy this second chance romance. It was a quick and dirty read in all the right ways.

I would also like to state for the record, that it really does amaze me how original and "uniquely" different Penny Wylders smutty novellas are from each other- considering what a prolific writer she is. It seems like she almost always has a current release available on the amazon charts.

***my personal favorite is still "Dirty Promise"....such a good story.....wonderful read***

I was a bit scared that I wasn't going to finish it on time. We had a flooding in our porch. It was a disaster and so much work with trying to take all the water back out. But I did it.

I understand that many love second chance stories and all, but that's just not entirely me. And especially not when there was so much time between and then suddenly they get a realization that she is the one.. Yup I totally get it..

This one was also quick and dirty, so that was good!

Rich Soldier by Penny Wylder is a quick read that will take you on a emotional journey that is a 2nd chance romance that will really give you tons of feels. Wallace is part of the Dirty 30 pledge. Wallace and Tia were deeply in love as teenagers yet forces tore them apart and they didn't see each other for years. Now Wallace is back in Tia's life but due to how things ended between them years before, she isn't so quick to forgive and forget. There is tons of heat and chemistry. I liked the plot of what brings the main characters together and it's great to see Frankie again. The sizzle and romance is great!! I can't wait for book 3.

It’s been over a decade and now Wallace has decided he wants her back and he’s willing to do whatever he has to to make it happen. Hopefully it’s not too late.

Tia was totally and completely in love with Wallace. High school sweethearts who had plans. Then one day he was gone. No goodbye, no message...just nothing. Gone.

Off to bootcamp he went and joined the army. Tia was left behind completely cushed and heart-broken. Even after all this time has passed, she hasn’t been able to let go of the heartbreak.

He’s been back for awhile now but he’s not the same. The only thing that hasn’t changed is his love for Tia. Now it’s up to him to win back her heart.

This is a steamy second chance romance with the same characters as Rich Groom. The pledge lives on. It’s Glenn’s turn next! I’m looking forward to it.

I enjoyed the second book in the Dirty Thirty Pledge. When they were only teenagers they all made a pledge to be rich and married by thirty or they have to sc.... thirty women within a period of time. This rich soldier had only one woman in mind but she kept rejecting him. The emotional pull between Tia and Wallace was strong but she kept rejecting him because she was still hurt because he left years earlier. Plenty of drama and twists but eventually love wins out and there's a HEA. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Wallace and Tia was well written and a great must read book. They get a second chance at love. Wallace still loves her but she won't give him a chance. Wallace tries again but she says no but then her father gives him a job. You have to read it to find out what happens. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy of this book. I whole heartedly recommend this book.

Second chance

I am really loving this series. I like how the books are all a little different from each other as far as a the couple in each one. Yet they all center around a crazy pledge they made when they were young and foolish. Wallace and Tia were high school sweethearts that were in love and made plans for the life they wanted to build together. Wallace had a terrible home life that he kept hidden not only from Tia but his best friends Frankie and Glenn. He left one night without explanation or goodbye. Years later he returns from his service in the Army and plans to win the love of his life back. This book is full of heartfelt moments between Wallace and Tia and what they go though to get the HEA they have always wanted. Wallace is such a complex character who realizes the way he left was hard on Tia and has a lot to do to win her back and prove he is the man for her. Tia has always loved Wallace. Will why he left and the pledge he made with his friends be understood and forgiven? Can love conquer all? The connection Wallace and Tia have is great and makes for some hot and steamy parts of this book. I can not wait to read Glenn's book. Awesome HEA!

OMG! I loved Wallace and Tia! I’m loving this series and I know that Glenn’s story is just around the corner and I can’t wait for him to get his. Their story was amazing, high school sweethearts planning their life together only to find out you’ve been left behind. Heartbreak and anger consume you, you have no answers and you need them, you need closure and the only person who can do that for you is the love of your life who left you. Wallace and Tia belong to each other, no matter how long they’ve been apart neither could forget the other and when Wallace comes homes home from battle his life is a little in shambles, all he thinks about is her and it take a few years to muster up the courage to seek her out to fix things between them. Of course, there’s that stupid contract that he has to uphold come heck or high water, as Glenn will not let him forget. There’s so much chemistry and passion, but also unfinished business, the what, why’s and now what. Will Wallace’s explanation be enough for Tia to forgive him and move forward or is it too late for the two of them? I can’t wait for what’s coming for Glenn!!! Loved it, this series is amazing.

Wallace & Tia are a sweet, sexy, had to work for it type of 2nd chance romance. They reunite when Wallace takes initiative to seek Tia out. Their journey of forgiveness and redemption is steamy and heartwarming. Loved these two characters. Great witty banter. Read this in one sitting! Love that about Penny Wylder.

Wallace has been through war, suffers from guilt and ptsd and wants nothing more than to make things right with the girl be left behind all those years ago. His 30th birthday is creeping up and he is dreading the dirty thirty pact he made as a horny teen. He only has eyes for one - and he's made it his mission to wiggle his way in to her life.

Tia is beautiful and headstrong. Works along side her dad in their family construction business. Has nursed a broken heart since Wallace up and disappered without an explanation when they were young. No man has ever lived up to what she shared with Wallace. When he shows back up and has landed himself a job working along side her - can they keep their hands off? Can they admit their feelings and move on? Wicked angst and build up! Great chemistry!

I love Tia and Wallace’s story! As with most PW reads it was quick and easy and didn’t miss a beat when it came to the steam factor, there’s also a little bit of angst ;).

Tia is very hurt and angry with Wallace because of his actions from their youth. Wallace’s actions have impacted Tia in a way that she’s carried her anger with her and not been able to close the part of her life that included Wallace.

Wallace is remorseful for what he did to Tia and feels that even if he regrets what he did he would’ve done it again to ‘help’ make things easier for Tia.... Tia doesn’t feel the same way. As a vet Wallace struggles with the things he dealt with while overseas (and what he endured as a kid), my heart hurt for how he suffered in silence but also made me love him more.

After some explosive interactions and some misguided conversations these two figure it out... and the dirty thirty pledge loses again!

Both of the books in this series so far have been awesome, I can’t wait for Glenn’s book!!

Book 2 of the Dirty Thirty Pledge tells Wallace and Tia's story. After returning from a war zone after completing his military service, Wallace is still looking for something to keep him busy, he isn't the kind of guy who is comfortable wearing a suit and although he doesn't have to work, since he's rich from his partnership, in the bar First Shot, with his friends but he needs something to keep him busy. Seeing Tia again and after learning how his friend Frank and Annabelle have reunited, he has hope that Tia will be willing to give him a second chance. Of course he'll have the same problem dealing with Glenn, that Frank had but, unless he can get Tia to at least talk with him. He might as well wait until something changes.

Something does change when he accepts a job at the construction company run by Tia and her father, Tia doesn't know yet but that should make his first day interesting!

This was a good read, after the first book, I like the characters, the book's premise is interesting and not to out of reality to make a good read.

Tia is strong, Wallace keeps making poor choices.

Wallace choose to enlist in the army almost twelve years ago, leaving Tia, his girlfriend with out a word, no good bye, nothing. Of course she's built up a lot of anger and resentment toward him. He came back three years ago and after one incident with some cereal ghosted on her yet again and went on to have hook ups and one night stands. Meanwhile, three years later, he shows up at her work place. Ironically, its Tia that saves him from danger. Will he finally man up?
His time in the military has left him with PTSD which he hasn't yet sought out help for. Can he ever make it up to Tia for making all the decisions for her and being selfish and arrogant for not considering her choices?

Tia is strong (but she keeps caving every time Wallace is near). Wallace is sweet but pretty messed up. At least he matured enough to seek help, but only after Frankie basically told him to.

Such a Disappointment

This book new book by Penny Wylder about Tia and Wallace took off to to a slow start and as the story progressed, the book had such promise as these two begin to heal from their mistakes and misconceptions from their youth. They began their romance when they were in high school. Their sexual chemistry was profound, even at their young age. When his father’s abuse has Wallace leaving Tia for more than ten years without goodbye or explanation, she heartbroken. Wallace learns how important Tia is to him so he gets himself hired by her father. Through Wallace’s persistence he makes a breakthrough in breaking down Tia’s walls and they get their HEA. It’s the gratuitous final sex scenes and base words to describe their lovemaking really got to me, so much so, that had it had me marking this review to a 3 from a 4.

Second chances have a way with deep feelings, and this couple certainly ignites when they're together. Anger burns into desire every time they cross paths.

I'm not fond of the reasons why the men in this series get it wrong with their women , but I can't deny the pull and chemistry between Wallace and Tia. It's a wild love, full of longing and passion. It's also laced with disappointment, secrets and mental issues from a bad experience in Wallace's past. These characters deal with regret and trauma which adds intensity to their second chance.

I enjoyed the background of the construction business and the honesty of their feelings for each other. Confused, betrayed, yet also raw and lingering.

Very hot and entertaining, I especially liked the epilogue with the three friends and the warning of impending doom for one of them 😂

Wallace is a vet who has fame and money thanks to the bar he and his friends have but none of that will give him what he wants most Tia the girl he left behind. Almost a decade has gone by and Tia still feels the sting from when her high school sweetheart left her with a word or goodbye and now he wants her back but he’s on a time crunch since his 30th birthday is coming up which is the cut off for his friends dirty 30 pledge. Wallace went through a lot due to his horrible dad but I still felt like he was a jerk for leaving the way he did and I’m glad that his friend made his see that and that Tia has some words as well but still felt like he needed to try grovel a little more that was my biggest complaints he needed to work for to win Tia back and get his HEA.

I really felt like Wallace and Tia’s story really said something about forgiveness.
Their story and chemistry is really spelled out and felt , throughout this book.
Forgiveness is a powerful weapon. It’s not that you can freely have. It’s what happens when your heart and mind can look pass the hurt or whatever the issue is, and see the good.
Forgiveness isn’t for them. It’s for you. Because you’re the bigger person.

No matter what, LOVE is looking pass the hurt, the pain, the long suffering and scar’s that are left behind.

I'm really enjoying this whole premise to this series, by Penny Wylder. All these young boys take "The Dirty Thirty," pledge. Vowing to "have" thirty girls in thirty days - unless they're married. In "Rich Soldier," Wallace can only imagine himself with one girl, Tia, who is now a woman. The one he left behind, when he ran off and enlisted. Wallace left a boy, but came back a ma... MILLIONAIRE!? Now, all Wallace has to do is, convince Tia! I can understand Tia being upset, and heartbroken, but that whole millionaire-thing, sure doesn't HURT! Expect drama, angst, heartache, and growing pains. Great dialog, humor and plenty of sizzling heat. An entertaining read. I received this book as an ARC from the author, and I volunteered this review.

This is the second book in The Dirty Thirty Pledge series and is a second chance romance. It can be read as a standalone.

After Frankie won Annabelle back in the last book, it made Wallace realize there was still only one woman for him. That woman is his high school sweetheart, Tia. He crushed her when he left for the army without a goodbye and didn't come back for years. With only a couple months til his 30th birthday, Wallace is determined to win Tia back and not have to complete the dirty thirty pledge. Tia has been angry with Wallace since he broke her heart at eighteen but she can't deny the intense attraction that still exists between them.

Rich Soldier is a heartbreaking and sweet second chance romance that will really give you all the feels.
Wallace and Tia were so in love as teenagers yet life torn them apart and they didn't see each other for years.
Wallace really pulled at my heartstrings and I wanted to give him a massive hug.
This story is so well written,pulls you in to their story and makes you really want them to get their HEA.
It's not all plain sailing though and you get a couple of laughs out of their antics.
This story is definitely a force to be reckoned with and you definitely need to one click it asap.
Who else is desperate for Glenn's story as I can't wait to read about the lady who brings him to his knees.

I received an arc for an honest review. I love this series. It was nice to see Frankie from the first book. This is a continuation of "the pledge" that they all took at 18 years of age. Wallace is back from war - and has had a hard time adjusting to civilian life. He is rich and doesn't need to work, but he needs something to keep him busy. He left his girlfriend Tia - never saying goodbye to her and she has never forgiven him for that. Wallace tries to reconcile with Tia and she does not make it easy for him. I love a strong woman, and Tia is that. I highly recommend this book - and the ending is perfect.

Rich Soldier is a great second chance romance. Ten years ago, Wallace made a huge mistake by leaving for the army without telling Tia, but he has never stopped loving her. Now approaching age thirty, he is going to take one last shot at winning her back. Tia is bitter and still heart-broken at the way Wallace deserted her but her heart still belongs to him. Can she find a way to forgive the only man she has ever loved?

Loved the characters in this steamy, sweet romance. Excellent writing as always by Penny Wylder. This is really a touching story about true love.

Rich Soldier is quick and steamy bite from Penny Wylder. Her sexy novellas are the perfect one sitting read, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Wallace is part of the Dirty Thirty pledge, but he's got more on his mind than working his way through 30 woman in 30 days. He's a war zone veteran whose heart belongs to Tia, the girl he left behind all those years ago. Feisty and independent, Tia has been holding on to the hurt of a broken heart since Wallace left without saying goodbye. Will Tia give him the second chance he longs for?

Wallace and Tia are wonderful! Another amazing story about the three friends who find their way back to their first loves. I couldn’t understand why Wallace had left Tia without a goodbye, but after hearing his story I understood part of it. Her reaction was surprising but understandable to a point. I was so happy when he finally got the help he needed not only from the war trauma, but for the trauma of his childhood. I love how Tia was so understanding and let it go when he finally told her the whole story. I can’t wait for Glenn to fall!!

Penny Wylder did such a good job writing this second chance romance. Wallace and Tia had a lot to work through before they could decide if they could give each other a shot and watching them figure things out was one of the best things about this book. Penny Wylder did not disappoint with her steamy scenes in this book and I would say that one scene was my absolute favorite from her books so far in my opinion.
