HEAT ღ HUMOR ღ HEA

Shane Campbell is a man obsessed once he sees Ramona Verhees from across the street. The only problem is she’s the bastard daughter of the club president the Reapers pushed out of Shasta leadership months earlier. Romancing her will stir up a whole lot of hurt feelings and dueling loyalties. Shane, though, refuses to be denied.

I’m With You contains graphic sexual content, violent situations, harsh language, and drug use. The book is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+. Trigger warning topics: depression and suicide.

Since first reading Damaged and the Beast back in 2013. I’ve been a huge fan of this author.

Her books are character driven. Her characters are flawed and real. The books are filled with sarcastic dialogue. And I can’t get enough.

But...

Sometimes the flawed is just too much. And that was the case here. Ramona has led an awful life. I really wanted to like her and I tried. At times I did but overall...
And I know this sounds awful. She was just too much work. She stepped over the line for me and I found I couldn’t get back. But I’m eagerly awaiting the next book. The highlight of this book was the River/Max thing. And I can’t wait for more.

“It’s not a contest. However, I probably did a better job.”
“Well, I would hope so,” I taunt, and she laughs. “You suck more dick than Hugh.”
“Fuck you,” he growls. “We worked out the numbers while you were in Cleveland, and I was ahead by two dicks. Since then, I've been sucking like a teething baby.”

It was love at first sight for Shane and it took some work to get there for Ramona.

She'd never met a man like Shane, a man who honestly liked her, respected her... who actually cared. Used to being abused and/or neglected, she knew nothing but pain from those who were supposed to protect her from it. How could she believe in all the goodness that he offered? In all of the goodness he made her feel?

This story, like others by this author, made me smile. A lot.

From the push and pull of the main relationship, the entertaining secondary characters, and everything in between, I enjoyed this book so much.

For an MC romance, it made for some easy reading. And although there were mentions of crimes, killings and mayhem, none actually appeared on page. I kinda wish it would. The warning about graphic sexual content... not so much.

I do wonder who is killing women in Shasta. Will this be explored in future books of this series?

This book really sets the bar for world building with Bijou Hunter. Every book she’s written lately I’ve thought she couldn’t get better or top the hero and heroine and each book she surprises me and shows me this lady Is still full of surprises. But first I want to mention this author before I talk about this new book. And yes I am a beta reader but it’s also the older I get the more I know what I want and like and I don’t want to read something I don’t like. Bijou Hunter is so kind and sweet and really cares about her readers and what they want. She really takes it to heart others thoughts and ideas and suggestions. This lady works her but off for us readers who are never satisfied and always want more of her books.

Now for this great book. This wasn’t what I expected and I say that in nothing but the best ways. We get a new world a lot of new great characters and some second generation characters from beloved books. Like always we get a crap ton of funny. Sweet and a possessive hero who wants his woman and won’t rest till he gets her. We get villains and a relationship that isn’t easy or a smooth road but one that is worth it in the end. And that’s one thing I love about Bijou’s books, her characters aren’t perfect and happy all the time running through fields of flowers. Her character’s are flawed and some struggle or hurt and have pasts but they are more real because of their flaws and also because of their flaws the love stories that come are just so much more amazing and worth it.

I love a good romance but add some funny moments in that and I couldn’t be happier and I don’t think there’s been one book form this author that I haven’t laughed in. And then theirs the epilogues, if you have read just one epilogue from Bijou you know they aren’t typical they are special and something I wish other authors could learn from. This epilogue is no different. ……

Seeing Ramona, Shane can’t and won’t let her go so like any normal well adjusted man he stalks her till he has to make his move and stops her on the street. Seeing Shane, Ramona is almost knocked to her feet by his looks and then he shows her he is even better in fact better than she could have dreamed till he isn’t and she finds out some important truths. Most would let it go and move on thinking there was no repairing the broken but Shane won’t say no and he won’t let Ramona go. So Shane the man used to getting what he wants sets about to do just that. Even if they are from opposites and on paper won't work Ramona will be Shanes.

The more Shane learns the more he see’s Ramona isn’t what he thought and what lays beneath is a badly hurt woman who is also so kind and caring and strong and Shane just falls all the more in love. Ramona knows the score this won’t last, Shane’s too good and men cheat but with Shane Ramona figures it’s worth it to just ride it out with him till he ends it. But with Ramonas past and Shanes life it could never be easy. Good thing Shane was raised a spoiled boy who grew into a spoiled man set on getting what he wants.

There's so much to this book yes it’s a biker book with a possessive hero and a “damaged” heroine but this book truly is filled with so much more between their pasts and their lives now, their friends and the connections they have as well as the connection they actually have once they meet and this book is filed to the brim with conflict, and romance as well as an amazing story about friends and family and love of all different kinds . I loved this book. We get a great setup into book two and after reading this book I can’t tell which book will be better but I know book two will be phenomenal. I can’t recommend this book enough. If you’re a Bijou Hunter fan that’s a no brainer but if you love a romance book with a great set of charcter's and funny moments with an epilogue you won't forget this book is one you can’t miss.

*Thank you Bijou Hunter for this beta copy.

Starting a new series is always an exciting—yet terrifying—time. The first book needs to create the tone and setting for the rest of the series. Often a whole new set of characters is introduced too.

This is true with my upcoming Reapers MC: Shasta Chapter series. The town was mentioned in passing in the Ellsberg Chapter books. Shasta is where Quaid Reynolds first saw MJ.

Timing-wise, this first book (I’m With You) takes place before Down to my Bones. Quaid doesn’t play a large role in the new book, but he is mentioned as a prospect. The Shasta series as a whole will span from before MJ and Quaid’s book to parallel with Colton and Stella’s. As many of you might remember from Promise Me Heaven, Maverick Rogers (second-born son of Vaughn and Raven) will become the VP in Pema after Colton takes the president spot.

*Book one is about Shane Campbell, who is the only son of Dylan Campbell and Winnie Todds from Damaged and the Bulldog.

From the authors website - Books related to the Damaged series. This is the ideal reading order, but books can be skipped without ruining the experience.
This is the chronological order for books related to the Damaged series

Damaged 1-9 (Sunday Morning (bk9) is a prequel and In the Wind (bk9) takes place a decade after book 7)
Ramsey Security 1-3 (book 3 links the most to the other series and introduces Angus Hayes)
Junkyard Dog
Serrated Brotherhood MC 1-3
Rawkfist MC 1-3
White Horse 2-4 (second generation)
Right Amount of Wrong (second generation Damaged novel)
Reapers MC: Ellsberg Chapter 1-3 (second generation)
Reapers MC: Conroe Chapter 1-3 (second generation) (bks 1 & 2 take place prior to Ellsberg bk3)

This was a little hard for me to finish. Stopped reading and went to other books before comjng back.
It was slow and very unnecessarily so. Found the neediness of the characters very annoying esp the heroine.
There was also alot of internal monologue-ing which also was very tedious.

I received a copy of this book from the author for a honest review.

I'm With You by Bijou Hunter broke my heart and then put it back together. This story was beautiful but sad at times, it really wrung emotions out of me. But I held on to the hope that these two would make it through the darkness. I loved Ramona and I felt so sad for what she went through, I'm so glad Shane came into her life and I'm so glad she had her friends to help her through the hard times. Ramona is the illegitimate daughter of the former Biker President of Shasta and Shane is the son of Winnie and Dylan from Damaged and the Bulldog. Once Shane saw Ramona he felt something he had never felt before and he would do anything to convince Romona she is his everything. The first half of the story felt heavy but over time it starts to feel lighter, it was almost like we are living in Ramona's head and as she feels more secure with her relationship with Shane, the lighter she gets and so does the story. As usual there is a wonderful Epilogue of their lives together. I'm looking forward to Max and River's story, I can't even imagine where Bijou will take us next but I always look forward to the ride.

The first book of the Shasta chapter had a different vibe than other books in previous series. While it was still wonderfully written I found it hard to connect with Ramona. Her issues are heartbreaking, and I could really empathize with her, but it felt like they were the focus of the story and the actual romance was pushed to the background. Shane was sort of a delicious typical Bijou H - jealous, possessive, all about their women. He basically did ALL of the heavy lifting in their relationship and I would have liked to have a bit more of Ramona just really letting Shane know she’s “with him”. It feeds his anxiety about losing her which is a vicious cycle and at one point he flat out asks her if she even really wants to be with him. At that point in the story I felt that question was totally justified. Ramona and Shane are together because of Shane’s learned patience and perseverance. They got their HEA but they had to run a marathon to get there.

The side characters were freaking wonderful as always and I can’t wait for their books!

Least favorite

I want to stress how much I love this author, I've read everything bijou has put out, and although this was the least favorite book I've read I am still a huge fan and will continue to read all this author puts out. Now with that being said I did not care for this struggle between these two. Romania seemed so strong the first encounter they had then spiraled way out of control for my taste. I felt nothing between them, I actually felt Shane could have been better off without a hot mess rom, this was the worse of two worlds trying to mix together. The only highlight for me was the river and max encounter that didn't really happen but was the only thing that really caught my attention. Romania was the worse fmc I've read from bijou, she didn't need a happy ending but rather serious mental health help.

These two are sweet Shane see's in Romona what his Dad spotted in Shane's Mum , so Shane is the perfect guy for Ramona , Ramona grew up manipulated & mentality abused ,her mum a whore for the club her father was president totally screwed this girls brain up but along the way she meet some great friends who new how to help ... The Band , don't get me wrong she's grown so she not a complete blithering idiot but she is accepting ... this is her lot in life.... Until Shane & River ride into town to take over ... now the fun begins , there's always excellent lines in Bijou Hunter books you always get a good chuckle & the story evolves .... yes Shane is pushy... but he's meet his one he wants the whole kit & caboodle now ... which he sort of does ... & I love the way Audrey tells Ramona how this becomes .. so funny ... Awesome Book Awesome Read cant wait till it come out on Audio ... Happy Reading

The minute Shane Campbell sees Ramona Verhees he is hooked. He knows he wants to be with her but she is skittish and a bit of a mystery. The more he finds out the more he is intrigued, the only thing is that holds him back a bit is Ramona willing to take a chance on him.

Ramona has pain in her past and when she catches the eye of Shane she worries about the backlash she is going to get, after all his MC killed her father who was President of his own MC. Ramona though likes Shane and is intrigued by the biker, he makes her feel safe which is something only a few people in her life can do. Can she trust him even though at times she wants to hide?

I liked this a lot, Ramona's is a hard story to read though as she has had a very hard life. Intense but a wonderful start to a new series.

I’m a big fan of Bijou’s books! This one was fantastic! I loved Shane and Ramona’s love story! She’s had a hard life being the illegitimate daughter of the former president of the Cracked Skullz Mc. Shane has come to Shasta to take over the town. Shane sees Ramona and he knows he has to have her. He has a lot of work to do to convince her, but he’s not going to give up on her. He’ll take his time to show her he’s not a bad guy. I love the journey of Shane and Ramona’s relationship Bijou took us on. This story was a beautiful and sad story. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions. You never know where it would take you! This series is going to be great! I eagerly waiting for the next book in the Reapers MC: Shasta Chapter series. I can’t imagine what Bijou will give us next!

Light MC romance that has all the parts that define an mc setting: clubhouse, politics, bikers, bikers killed off, loyalty, sweet butts, etc. What I like about Bijou Hunter's instalove mc books is the humor is funny and doesn't feel contrived or forced. If jokes are in the character's dialogue, they play out and that's that. If the h and H are struggling with trust issues, they are figured out verbally and not angst-built-upon-angst for 50% of the book. And when the author writes that there is a sense of chemistry, electricity, her writing actually sticks by that claim and proves it with the physical actions, internal thoughts, and external conversation. And I love that someone is finally brave enough to call Indie music crap!

Ramona & Shane

I'm once again hooked. Hunter has amazing talent to make MCs interesting and they possess a charm that just sucks reader in to the story. I absolutely love Reapers and I'd like to have and read all the books Bijou Hunter has on this world.
This book was a page turner and charming and I really couldn't put it down. Reminded me why Bijou Hunter has been on my radar for five years - books from this author are all in my wish list. Definitely recommending this if motorcycle clubs are your thing. Ramona and Shane are great characters that show how person can be multiple things and normal is totally overrated.
Though if violence, mental health, murder etc are triggers for you the this ain't your cup of tea.

A new series begins and and a new couple to fall in love with. Shane is an amazing, gentle and supportive Alpha male. He is swoon-worthy. He falls in love with Ramona pretty quickly and when he gets to know how deeply she’s been hurt, he goes full caveman on her abusers. He is a classic Bijou hero. Ramona is damaged and beautiful and has a host of issues, including depression. These are hard topics to write about and it’s done effortlessly here. The plot is dark yet not overwhelming so. I loved the new town, new characters, new stories. And also a chance to see how old characters are faring. I loved the Quaid mentions. Can’t wait for River and Maxine’s book.

Omg I loved this novel! This novel is a spin off of an earlier series and it is so good to catch up with the second generation. I loved Shane and Ramona. This novel was just what I needed this week, with everything going on in the world it was so nice to escape into a great little novel. I just adored the banter and dialogue. So good! I love when a novel can make me laugh out loud, almost bring me to tears and leaves me with a happy heart. This novel checked all of my boxes, I loved it. I can't wait to see what happens next with the others. Loved it, what a great way to escape life for a while.

Shane and Ramona live in a rough town and their HEA does not come easily. As with every time Bijour Hunter writes a character who struggles with living in this world (and who doesn't), she does it without sacrificing Ramona's sense of humor, ability to be prickly, and some serious heat. This first in a new series can be read as a standalone, and will be an excellent way to enter the Reapers universe without having to go back to the beginning. You will want to after you read it, but the book is very enjoyable as a first Bijou Hunter read. After all of the books I've read by Hunter, I still feel like I discovered an exciting new author.

Now entering Shasta ...
Shane Campbell grew up loved and protected, Ramona Verhees did not.
When Shane first sees Ramona he is smitten ... he has to have her. And he is spoiled and arrogant enough to always get what he wants. Ramona has a lot of issues, but she reluctantly agrees to go out with Shane ... of course she did, he's super hot. This relationship could have been a disaster because Ramona is insecure, lacking confidence and has depressive episodes. But Shane works to handle everything after dealing with and protecting his mom his whole life.
I loved that they each stepped out of their comfort zones for the other. And the epilogues always rock.
I can't wait for River, Maverick and Shelby to find love.

I used to absolutely love books written by this author but I just didn’t connect with this one. I feel like we didn’t get enough character depth and growth here, particularly with Ramona. The story itself got to be extremely repetitive and sluggish to get through and it felt like it really did not go anywhere. There was the random side plot of the Shasta Slasher which I thought was going to be a bigger part of the story but literally nothing happened with that. So much could have been done with it but it was sporadically mentioned and then just dropped. There were some grammar issues as well but I did like Ramona and Shane’s separate friend groups.

A fantastic plot, damaged broken women are meant to be cherished, so he does! She may be broken but she isn’t dumb, she has enough sense to know he is trouble. Finding each other was easy, convincing her to trust and love him is the hard part. But he gets what he wants and he wants her, so come hell or high water he isn’t going away! She belongs to him! Full of tragedy, terror, anguish, and pain, fighting depression and demons from her past she fears for her future. Many surprises and unexpected situations arise but he refuses to let go!

Lots of Heart from the Romantic H

Little twists and surprises kept me guessing for a bit. This one is a great start to the Shasta series. It was great to catch up with some family from previous books.
Can be read as a stand-alone, but richer if the parents' (Dylan and Winnie) is read first.

I was enjoying this book until the point I realized it never went anywhere. The characters never grew, their relationship always seemed one sided. I absolutely loved Shane, his dedication to the heroine and his family. I sympathized with the heroine at first but as the story progressed I started to get annoyed. I’m a big fan of Bijou Hunter, however this book was not for me.

Every now and again a reader finds a real gem of a book. This was my gem, I follow Bijou Hunter because she makes me laugh out loud at the antics her characters get up to, but in this book she went so much further she created Shane and Ramona, an imperfect couple that tore at my heart and had me in tears along with the laughter. An amazing book and I highly recommend it.

I always love Bijou but this one was a little off for me there was something missing with the Main characters I loved the side people more than the Main people so I feel a little sad.
