A Love Worth Waiting For

Rate this book
Jaded jet-setter Noah Ashton arrived in Montana with the sole purpose of making sure his beloved grandmother was not marrying a man out to steal her fortune. However, when he experienced a life threatening crisis, the last person he expected to lean on was Julie Renton, the granddaughter of his grandmother's suitor. The small-town schoolteacher not only staunchly defended her grandfather's honor, but also opened this world - weary tycoon's eyes to the Lord's most precious blessings.
A handsome and chivalrous Noah was everything Julie had ever dreamed of in a man. But even while she lavished him with sweet solace to see him through the hardships ahead, she sensed he had the power to shatter her fragile heart. It took a miracle from above to convince Julie she'd finally found a love worth fighting for.

This was a really good book. It just felt very rushed and scattered at the end to me.

Noah Ashton, a billionaire computer magnate, returns to a small Montana town to see his beloved grandmother marry a neighbor. There, he meets and woos Julie Renton, the schoolteacher who is the granddaughter of his grandmother’s fiancé.

Noah, however, has been living life in the fast lane for a while and his health isn’t as good as it used to be. How he and Julie overcome their initial resistance to each other (Noah believes that Julie’s grandfather might only be after his grandmother’s money, a legitimate concern) and finally end up with each other is sweet. Julie’s character is what all small town people should be like: charming, kind, and friendly. She’s also not a complete idiot, either, which is more than I can say for some of the other Love Inspired books where small town people have small minds.

The romance between the pair’s grandparents is warm and loving, and serves as a good reminder that true love knows no age. We root for Noah and Julie all the way, despite obstacles including his money and his health and Julie’s belief that she’ll never run in his rarefied circles. Recommended for lovers of happy endings.

re-reading this book after 10 years was pure pleasure. This is one of my most favorite Jillian Hart books. We met Noah in "Heaven Sent" which is the story about his sister. Now he's come to town to make sure that his Grandmother is not being pursued by a money grubbing cowboy. He's decided that marriage is not for him since everyone has always been after his money. He meets the granddaughter of the man who is going to marry his grandmother and the two of them forge a special friendship. Julie has decided she will never marry because she's already been engaged 3 times. As they work through problems, adventures, and a health crisis, the friendship builds to more. This was a great book.

The storyline itself was good but I only need to hear the facts once to understand them and unfortunately the same information was repeated over and over again until it got really old to hear. The heroine was simply stupid and never actually showed any signs of having any faith. She talked the talk but her actions didn't show her faith. The whole convincing her o=to say yes was aggrevating and ridiculous!

I really enjoyed this Christian romance, partially because it demonstrates that people aren't always the way you might assume they are because of their financial status or what they do for a living. I enjoyed the glimpse of a billionaires life contrasted with a small town upbringing, and the ending was perfect, in my opinion. I highly recommend this one.

This is the first "Love Inspired " book I've read -- a gentle light read -- with Christian leaning.

great story.

Shows again how people perceive someone to be a certain way because of their stations in life.

Enjoyable albeit standard Love Inspired fare. The characters are all likable, the banter between the hero and heroine is often amusing, and the ending is satisfactory.
