Avant de penser à l’avenir, ils devront collaborer pour vaincre un ennemi sans visage qui a la jeune femme dans sa ligne de mire.
Katie Reus® is the USA Today bestselling author of the Endgame trilogy, the MacArthur Family series and the Deadly Ops series. She fell in love with romance at a young age thanks to books she pilfered from her mom's stash. Years later she loves reading romance almost as much as she loves writing it. However, she didn't always know she wanted to be a writer. After changing majors many times, she finally graduated with a degree in psychology. Not long after that she discovered a new love. Writing. She now spends her days writing paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense.
4.5 stars. A hot contemporary romance. First in a trilogy. Spy games galore in the Bishop family. Twists and turns and multiple agency intrigue. First up is Evie Bishop. Formerly of the CIA, she and a coworker are now being targeted by an unknown assailant. They take refuge with Dylan Blackwood, the man Evie left behind when he proposed marriage. While tracking down the shooter, Evie will also need to come clean with Dylan. Her feelings for him haven’t diminished and she wants to tell him the truth about who she is.
Told with several backstory events, this steamy romance is non stop action and endangerment. A strong and smart female that uses her best assets to protect and serve. Dylan is swoon worthy. Beyond the great abs, he is supportive and most importantly, let’s Evie work her investigation without interference. He finds her sexy carrying a gun.
Next up, the brother who was in a coma from a bombing incident or the brother on the run for killing his DEA partner? Whichever one, I’m looking forward to the thrill ride.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.
I'm so excited that there is a new Katie Reus series. This book did not disappoint. I loved it! I devoured it! I want more!
Evie was awesome. I love a heroine who can hold her own. She's ex-CIA and forced to investigate as a civilian with a CIA agent she has worked with in the past. Two women who know how to kick butt and take names.
Dylan is my kryptonite hero. He's former military, now a millionaire real estate mogul. He's the strong, silent and very, capable hero. He also has no idea that Evie was in the CIA. He gets a new look at Evie when she shows up at his door needing his help.
I was nervous when I read the blurb. I hate that Evie walked away from him but the author did such a good job of bringing them back together. I loved how they both handled things and I wish more second chance was done this way.
I adored Dylan and Evie's story and I can not wait to see what's next!
Oh yeah! Now this is what I’m talking about when I’m looking for in a great romantic suspense!
Evie has carried guilt for the last year after using Dylan to make a connection to a CIA target her group was looking to take down. She never expected to fall for him, but just reading his bio before she officially met him caused a reaction within her. Actually getting to know him meant falling in love and when he proposed, her lies and guilt overwhelmed her and she could do nothing but run.
Dylan was all in with Evie from the first moment he saw her. Their relationship was everything he didn’t know he wanted. When she rejected him he was left broken hearted and confused. Now she’s in need of help for a friend and this time he’s going to get all the answers to his questions. And then he’s going to get her.
”Knowing she was in his house, under his roof, turned him on. Everything she did turned him on. It was beyond reason. But that was just the way it was and he was going to have to accept it. Because he didn’t think there was another woman for him other than Evie Bishop. She was his not-so-secret addiction.”
This starts off with a wild action sequence and never slows down. Evie is one kick butt heroine and I was afraid that I wouldn’t like Dylan for her because of it. But that was not the case.
”Sometimes when she looked at him, she saw the warrior looking back at her. He might have left the Marines, but the Marines hadn’t left him.”
He not only held his own, he was protective without stepping on her toes or acting as if she wasn’t fully capable. He allowed her to do her job as she saw fit, even when everything within him said to grab her up and run. I love a strong hero and Dylan proved that having the strength to let his woman do what was needed, even when it went against his own desires, made a hero even more alluring.
There are several issues going on in this story. Some are in regards to Evie’s brothers and I can’t wait to read their books. The other is a mystery that Evie and her friend are trying to solve. As they delve deeper into what’s going on, I had a suspicion of who the villain was. I was wrong. Which is often the case in this author’s stories. But the unraveling of the clues, the final plan to trap the bad guy and the resulting consequences of that plan, had my heart in my throat.
This is one adrenaline inducing read that totally enraptured me page after page. This is one of those books you’ll want to read in one sitting. Unfortunately, life royally screwed me over and I was unable to do so. In between life I was sneaking one more page or paragraph because I couldn’t let it go. So heads up, be sure you’ve got your schedule cleared and don’t answer your phone! (My biggest mistake!)
Katie Reus wastes no time in cranking up the action in the opener to her Endgame Trilogy, introducing us to the Bishop siblings and setting up what I’m hopeful is going to be another great series from her.
...she knew she made the world a better place. That a whole lot of people were alive and free because of her.”
First in line is the youngest and only girl, Evie, former CIA agent and about to be reacquainted with the man she left broken-hearted, Dylan Blackwood. And with plenty left unsaid and unresolved between them, their love-story is far from over.
You’re going to tell me all your secrets.”
Fast paced, romantic and with no shortage of twists and turns, Bishop’s Knight was exactly what I’d hoped for and with the wheels set in motion for Evan and Isla’s story, I’m excited to see what‘s next. For any fan of kick-arse ladies, men who are just the right amount of alpha, a good romantic suspense, the author or all of the above, don’t hesitate in grabbing this.

4 - "You’re going to tell me all your secrets…" Stars!
Katie Reus begins her new Endgame Trilogy based around the three Bishop siblings with Evie Bishop’s story. Both of her brothers are dealing with their own problems as well (which I am sure will be given total focus in their own books) but for ex-CIA Agent Evie, her problems are in the here and now, life-threatening and bring her back into contact with a man, she walked out on just as he took one knee and proposed to her.
"I’ve got questions…"
Six months on, and it would appear that the feelings they both feel for each other are very much present, even though Evie knows that as soon as Dylan Blackwood knows the truth of their initial meeting he will likely turn his back on her, something she can’t afford to happen right now, because she has a target on her back, and because of her previous career, she cannot be 100% certain where the threat is coming from.
His world had been upended since the moment he’d met Evie… But this was a whole other ball game.
Plenty of action, thrills and spills in this one, with the sexual tension between Evie and Dylan bubbling in the background as well. The building of her brothers; Evan & Ellis’s stories is also given a decent amount of page time, enough to keep you intrigued as to what might come with their own books. I loved the crossover with the Red Stone gang as well, and I am looking forward to hopefully seeing more of them as secondary characters as the rest of this trilogy plays out.
"It’s time to bait a trap."
I guessed the villain in this one pretty early on, which was a surprise as Katie usually keeps me on my toes in that respect, but it wasn’t a problem, I still read the book in pretty much one sitting. Evan is up next in; Bishop’s Queen. The author sets him up perfectly in this book, in that you know this is a man with a lot of struggle ahead of him, especially when it comes to his fiancée Isla, and I look forward to October when the book is released.
ARC generously provided by the author, in exchange for the above honest review.
Evangeline is a strong, capable, intelligent female lead and her friend and ex-colleague Samara is equally good. Can I just say how nice it is to read a book with not one but two great females.
The book opens with both Evie and Samara on a mission for the CIA. It then switches to the present and Evie is home in Miami. Her life is not going as planned. Her oldest brother Evan is in hospital after a bomb took out his office. Her other brother Ellis is in hiding somewhere. He’s wanted for he murder of one of his partners with the DEA. And Evie. Well she’s still in love with Dylan Blackwood and who can blame her?
At this point I also have to thank the author for Dylan. 🥰
In amongst all this Samara turns up at her doorstep bleeding from a bullet wound. And so the excitement begins.
This is first and foremost a romance. The story itself isn’t to be scrutinised too closely. But as an exciting romance it’s fabulous.
My issues were minor but here they are.
My knowledge of the CIA is virtually nonexistent but... Would an agent be allowed to take on a mission as herself? Using her own family and friends? Also I find it surprising that after leaving the CIA you get to keep top-level clearance for a year.
“Will do.” Evie might not be CIA anymore but she still had top-level clearance, at least for another six months.
Plus. It’s a pet hate of mine when one character holds off revealing something that everyone knows needs to come out. This just annoys me. I’ll admit it didn’t annoy me as much here because I was loving this book. But fair is fair I complained about another book doing this only days ago.
Finally my last moan I promise. Evie constantly moans about how she has no future with Dylan
She had no future with Dylan Blackwood. He was a former lover, a former asset, former…everything. He sure as hell wasn’t part of her future though. Even if she wanted him to be. Because if she allowed herself to even think that might be possible, she would have to acknowledge that she would have to tell him the truth. And if she did that, he’d leave her for sure. So she was cutting things off as soon as possible.
We all know going in how this book is going to end so this goes on for far too long.
This all sounds way more negative than I intended. I really enjoyed this read and with Dylan’s help this came close to a 5* read and that doesn’t happen often.
I can’t wait for the next book. Bishop’s Queen.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.
I really enjoyed it. Evie was kick-arse and Dylan was no slacker even though he was a civilian (okay, he was former military bad a$$). Loved seeing some of the Red Stone Security peeps.
I can't wait to see what happens with her brothers. Where is he hiding and will the other one get his head on straight?
Audiobook: Narrators – Jeffrey Kafer and Heather Costa
I absolutely LOVED this narration! After reading this book I couldn’t wait to listen to it and I’m so glad I did! These narrators bring these characters to life in a way that pulled me into this world more so than the book alone. Can’t recommend the audio enough!

An engaging suspenseful romance. The chemistry between Dylan and Evie was amazing, the plot was full of action and intensity and the story had a brisk pace. I am looking forward for the stories of Evie’s brothers!!!
I've given this a B- at AAR, so that's 3.5 stars rounded up.
Bishop’s Knight is the first book in the new Endgame Trilogy of romantic suspense novels from Katie Reus which features the Bishop siblings – Ellis, Evan and Evie. It’s a fast-paced, well-put together story full of secrets, lies and betrayals featuring a sexy second-chance romance and an engaging central couple – and the author sets up the other stories in the trilogy in a manner that feels organic and doesn’t detract from the principal storyline.
The book opens fifteen months before the commencement of the story proper, as Evie and her crack team of CIA operatives is in the final stages of their current assignment to take down a Russian mob-affiliated arms dealer. Although things don’t quite go according to plan, the mission is successful, and they’re told their next job will take them to Miami – Evie's home town. Nothing more is known about it at this stage, other than it’s big, they’re teaming up with the Feds and their target is someone named Jensen.
When we meet Evie again, she’s retired from the CIA and has been back home in Miami for a month, where she’s temporarily living in the apartment belonging to her brother Ellis. Her wealthy, well-connected family is reeling from the news that Ellis – a DEA agent – has been accused of murdering his partner and has gone on the run and off the grid; and as if that wasn’t bad enough, a recent explosion at Bishop Enterprises has left her oldest brother, Evan, critically injured and necessitated a medically induced coma. Evie is taking a short break from her vigil at the hospital with her parents and Evan’s fiancée, Isla, when she receives a text from her friend and former CIA colleague Samara Sousa announcing that she’s outside – which is where Evie finds her, bleeding from a gunshot wound to her hip.
She does what she can, but her friend needs more medical attention than is to be found in Evie’s first-aid kit. As Evie works to staunch the bleeding, Samara tells her what brought her to Miami – the news that two of the people they’d worked with on the Jensen operation have been murdered and the desire to warn Evie that she might also be a target. Samara doesn’t want to go to a hospital and leave a trail for whoever shot her, so Evie has to think fast – and reluctantly comes to the conclusion that there’s only one person she knows in Miami who is likely to be able to help.
Dylan Blackwood – a former marine turned property magnate – and Evie met over a year earlier when Evie had targeted him as a way of getting an introduction to Rod Jensen, a Miami real estate mogul in who’d been involved in human trafficking and many other criminal activities. Her relationship with Dylan was only supposed to be a casual thing – a few dates, at most – and would end after Dylan had got Evie the introduction, but she hadn’t been able to end it. From the first moment they met, there’d been an intense attraction and sense of connection zinging between them, and Evie wasn’t ready to give it up, even though she’d known, deep down, that one day she would have to. And that day came around a year previously when Dylan proposed – and Evie had to do one of the hardest things she’d ever done and walk away.
Knowing Dylan is a decent man – and that he retains the services of an on call, concierge doctor – Evie takes Samara to his mansion in the exclusive South Beach area. Dylan is surprised to see her, but as Evie had hoped, he agrees to help. Being close to him again brings her ruthlessly squashed feelings for him back to the surface and into sharp focus, and she tries hard to shove them away again, knowing that by asking him for help, she could well have put him in danger, too. But Dylan is far from stupid. He’s worked out that Evie must have worked for one of the alphabet-soup agencies, and suspects that her past employment is somehow tied to the danger she’s in now – but he can handle himself and he’s not going to let Evie face it alone.
The story moves quickly with plenty of twists and turns, and the author does a good job of showing that Evie and Dylan have never really fallen out of love with each other. What I didn’t like so much was Evie’s constant bemoaning to herself that she and Dylan can never have a future together, so convinced is she that he’ll dump her once he finds out the truth, that she’d used him as part of an op. I’m not a big fan of that whole ‘I-can’t-tell-you-because-then-you’ll-hate-me’ thing; Dylan and Evie are adults, not little kids, and she should have thought enough of him to allow him to make his own decision. Luckily for her, Dylan is the better man; he’s determined not to let her go it alone, and he respects her abilities and her decisions, so while he wants to protect her, he never tries to take over or to push her aside for the sake of her safety. He’s a great guy, prepared to help the woman who broke his heart simply because she needs it; and although he’s hurt when he finds out what Evie has been hiding from him, he handles his disappointment in a mature way.
Bishop’s Knight is a quick, satisfying read and as I said at the beginning, the author has set up the next two stories in the trilogy very well. I’m looking forward to reading them.
Katie Reus has a style that is easily accessible - albeit too much alike Kaylea Cross that they seem interchangeable - and a great reputation for doing up short but breezy romantic suspense reads, which is basically a compelling reason enough to want to get into her books. Some of which have even been very memorable.
‘Bishop’s Knight’ however, pushed every, single wrong button in this second-chance story and reminded me how infuriated I could get with a trope that so far, I feel few authors have gotten on with excellently.
Too many things were juggled here in a manner that ended up feeling like a right mess: Evie’s broken family that the series would eventually be built on, her haphazard CIA job and her past relationship with Dylan Blackwood. This was done with scenes flipping between all three that got me whiplash, more so when the plot rather ambitiously tried to rebuild her broken relationship with Dylan along the way. In fact, much of the action seemed tangential and things to do with Evie’s past, with a host of secondary characters that I couldn’t quite care less about coming in and out when all I wanted was to see this second-chance trope getting vindicated.
The long and short of it was, I thought Evie/Dylan’s relationship needed more special handling which Reus didn’t quite deliver, particularly when it come to the thorny issue of letting Evie get off easy because Dylan wanted her so much and was willing to overlook all she did to him. Where I expected a kickarse heroine, all Evie was fleshed out to be was a protagonist who knew her away around firearms but proved a coward in every other thing concerning Dylan.
Now how the heck do I even get behind a pairing when Evie had no original intention of reconciling with Dylan or seeing him again except for the twist that brought her back? That she’d built the relationship on a lie, despite constantly insisting that her feelings were real, then did nothing about it even when she was supposedly consumed with regret and made Dylan work for her left me too disappointed in this start to even get invested in it all.
Evie Knight is (ex) CIA, but hasn’t lost any of her skills. When a former team member shows up on her doorstep claiming they are both in danger, Evie goes to Dylan Blackwood, the one person she knows will help, even if their personal relationship is a little mucked up.
Evie is a feisty little thing, with a heart of gold and an unshakeable faith in the greater good. I liked the contrast with her CIA position because it grounded why Evie does the job in the first place. I also enjoyed her family ties, and her sense of humor.
Dylan is my dream hero! He’s not only cool, calm, and mostly collected, he respects Evie and doesn’t stuff her in a corner so he can save the day. He lets her work and plays her supportive backup. He also has feelings and expresses them without losing any masculinity! Evie doesn’t have to hunt down and dig to what Dylan thinks about her.
Anyone who has read Reus knows suspense and romance go hand in hand and Bishop’s Knight is no different! The suspense comes barreling out and doesn’t stop until the end, but Dylan and Evie’s second-chance romance was like lighting a match to dry kindling. These two burned up the pages when they had their chances, leaving raw emotions all over the place!
Reus has nailed it again! Bishop’s Knight is the first book of a new trilogy (yaaaaaay!!!) and I have fallen for the three Knight siblings! I also loved the Red Stone Security cameos 😉. I’ll be waiting on pins and needles to see what happens next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a fast paced romantic suspense with compelling characters. It was also a second chance romance that had you rooting for the main characters of Evie and Dylan.
BISHOP'S KNIGHT was an easy listen with a slightly predictable storyline romantically but the suspense kept a note of unexpectedness.
I liked the narrators on the whole, it was a dual pov narration but the male narrator had an occasionally robotic tone to his voice. I would definitely try this author again.
Bishop's Knight by Katie Reus is fabulous start to the new series Endgame Trilogy.
From the first page my interest was captured and I didn't put it down until I finished. This is one of those books you keep telling yourself just one more chapter which ends up with you reading late into the night as you can't put it down lol
I love Katie Reus writing, she has a way with her words that makes you invested in her characters and the story unfolding in front of you.
Bishop's Knight was such a good read, I loved getting to know the characters and I loved how the author has included a storyline that will be unveiled between the remaining Bishop siblings. Looking forward to reading their books and watching the conclusion of this excellent series.
Bishop's Knight in the first book in the Endgame Trilogy, you get to watch Evie and Dylan get their second chance at love and it leaves you wanting for the next book Bishop's Queen Evan Bishop and Isla MacDonald story.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 A tense spy thriller with , passionate, romantic undertones, that will have you on the edge of your seat . The beginning of a wonderful new series
This however set a great pace was well written and had brilliant characters, a story you can really get your teeth into .
Loved the book and can’t wait for more from Ellis and Evan the Bishop brothers .
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Evie Bishop has returned home to a family in turmoil. One brother is fighting for his life and another is on the run. Then her friend shows up injured and spouting conspiracy theories that could also put Evie in danger. With nowhere else to turn, she is forced to ask her ex for help.
Dylan Blackwood has not seen Evie in six months since she broke his heart and left him. He might not believe he can trust her, but he cannot stand by and see her in danger. He is wealthy, smart, resourceful, protective, and is ex-military so does not back down from fights.
Now they are on a race to figure out who the real target is and why. There are multiple possible antagonists and hidden agendas. There is danger, suspense, and real threats. But their connection and chemistry are still there. They make a great team, but it is a precarious situation. The mystery and action build to a heart-stopping climax.
But beneath all the external chaos are their personal issues. Evie still has secrets about her former life that she has been gradually sharing with him, but the most important one might be the one thing that could make him walk away.
I really loved Dylan, who I thought was the complete package. He could be refined and businesslike, passionate and romantic, and also edgy and tough. And Evie is a different kind of heroine. She is strong, confident, and brave, but cares deeply about those she lets in. I enjoyed the side characters of their friends, Samara, Finn, and Leo. But I am very interested in the other Bishops' stories. Her brothers, Evan and Ellis are both dealing with significant challenges in this one and I cannot wait to delve more into their stories and their points of view.
This one was so so for me. I really had a hard time buying that Evie was a spy and yet so connected to her family. Also it seems like there was some story missing prior to this one as both of Evie's brothers had big drama happening in their lives. I also had a hard time buying that Dylan forgave Evie so quickly and not only once, but twice.
Ex CIA Agent Evie Bishop has a lot on her plate, one of her brothers is in a coma after being caught in an explosion while the other has been accused of murder and is currently on the run from the police. The last thing she needs is any extra stress but when an old colleague turns up on her doorstep with a gunshot wound and tells her that members of an op they both worked on are being picked off one by one Evie has no choice but to dive back into a world she'd hoped to leave behind her. There is only one person with the resources she needs that Evie can trust to have her back but considering she broke Dylan's heart by walking out on him things are about to get even more complicated.
Bishop's Knight was a great start to the Endgame Trilogy, Evie is facing danger from all angles and the only person she can turn to is her ex Dylan. It's complicated further by the fact that she's still head over heels in love with Dylan but she's been keeping a huge secret from him, not only the fact that she was an agent for the CIA but also the fact that the reason they met was because she specifically targeted him on an op. She was never supposed to get too close to Dylan, he was only meant to be her introduction to the real target, but they had an instant connection that she found impossible to ignore and it ended up becoming serious. She only walked away because she felt that Dylan didn't know the real her and that he'd never forgive her for the secrets she'd been keeping but now they're thrown back together all her feelings come flooding back.
Dylan always thought there was more to Evie than met the eye but it isn't until she comes back into his life that he realises just how much she was hiding from him. He's more than a little intrigued by the strong and capable woman he sees before him and he's determined to get their relationship back on track. First they have to figure out who is targeting Evie and her team though, someone wants her dead and unless they find out who, and put a stop to them, Evie might not have a future at all.
I already said this was a great start to the series, just enough danger and action but still with a good hint of romance and great characters. Evie and Dylan worked really well together, it helps that he's ex military himself so he's more than capable of working alongside Evie to figure out what is really going on. I also really liked what we've seen of Evie's brothers and I'm looking forward to reading their books when they publish.
5 Star Knight She’s very good at getting into places she doesn’t belong but years of working black ops has burned her out, so Evie Bishop returns home. But her return lands her right into unexpected chaos with one brother in a coma and the other in hiding and wanted for murder, so when a fellow operative from her past shows up, she turns to the one man she knows she can trust. Dylan Blackwood is stunned when he finds Evie on his doorstep covered in blood. She turned down his marriage proposal and walked out of his life, so he’ll give the help she needs even if he can’t forget her betrayal.
This powerfully explosive and thrillingly suspenseful romantic suspense starts things off with excitement and suspense and just keeps getting better. The hero and heroine have sparks flying in every direction throughout their rocky relationship as their magnetic attraction keeps getting in the way of their determination to keep things platonic this time round. Lots of emotional angst and friction round out this electrical relationship and ensures that readers really want to know how things work out between Dylan and Evie.
The plot is fast paced, non-stop excitement and packed full of suspense and startling twists and an astonishing betrayal that rocks everyone’s world. In fact the story is so suspenseful and full of head turning events including those gut wrenching ones that involve her family that Evie is kept going full out throughout the story. Once again, the author has created a fascinating world full of wonderful characters that readers easily fall for and want to visit over and over again and painting such vivid imagery that they remain glued to every last word.
An exciting start to a new trilogy featuring the Bishop siblings. This is Evie Bishop's story and she's pretty good at what she does even if she's retired CIA now. When Samara approaches her hurt and needing help she's all out. Her loyalty is strong and that's good. She turns to her ex Dylan Blackwood that whole other sticky situation. Lots of tension since Evie wasn't truthful.
Dylan still cares for Evie so he helps her out and essentially being her knight in shinning armor. I liked them they made a good team and together they tried to solve who is after her and Samara. Along with all that Evie has family drama too. No dull moment here and it's really good flow. I kept guessing who is the enemy. Of course there's also the chemistry between Dylan and Evie and if the truth comes out will their new partnership come out strong.
Katie Reuss delivers a good plot and keeps you on your toes. The ending was good and also has hint for the next book in the series which I'm looking forward to.
I love Katie Reus b/c she always delivers safe romance books but....
with the romantic suspense books that are all literally the same!
The h is some badass agent/spy that had to leave the H for his own good. He's always a badass ex-military person who can hold his own. This is a new series but it's literally the same as the Red Stone Security & Deadly Ops one. Please give us something new and fresh! I have read this story from you sooo many times and I LOVED it the first time when I read Breaking Her Rules but now it's just not exciting anymore.
This new trilogy is starting off in a fantastic way! The action and suspense will keep you turning pages and constantly trying to figure out who can be trusted and who cannot. Evie and Dylan are HOT and I absolutely cannot wait to get the stories for the Bishop brothers! If you are looking for a book full of intrigue, heart, mystery and heat then you will not want to put this book down once you start!
Bishop's Knight by Katie Reus is the First book in the Endgame Trilogy. This is the story of Dylan Blackwood and Evie Bishop. Dylan and Evie once were involved so much so that Dylan wanted to marry her but Evie had to walk away due to her job as a CIA agent that Dylan doesn't really know about. Now in their present day Evie has returned home due to being burnt out but finds that she has a brother on the run, one in a coma and a friend that has been hurt. With no where to turn but to Dylan for help she ends up on his door. Of course Dylan gonna help her but he wants something from her that he always wanted...her. Loved their exciting story and can't wait for more from this author!!!
CAN A SPY EVER SAY "I have had enough and I want to go HOME?" The Bishop family is in a bad way and Evie Bishop (former CIA) returns to Miami finding out that these issues are more difficult to solve than her Life and Death Job has been. Foremost on the table is the fact that someone is trying to kill her and members of her former team. And...if these are not enough challenges she must ask her former op mark and almost fiance Dylan Blackwood for HELP. TRILOGY YEAH more to come! "A copy of this book was provided by KR Press, LLC via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."
In this new series by Katie Reus, the Bishop siblings are the main characters. Evie Bishop is a spy. Or at least, she was. Right now, she’s retired. But can anyone really retire from being a spy? One of her teammates comes to her late at night and she’s been shot. She tells Evie someone is gunning for them and they need to hide. Evie only knows one person who’s powerful enough to both help and hide them. Dylan Blackwood, her almost fiance.
Dylan has a doctor on retainer who makes house calls and that means Evie will swallow her pride and show up on his doorstep asking for help. But she knows he’ll demand explanations about why her friend’s been shot, and why she took off after he proposed. But how can she tell him that he was an op?
Dylan has never understood why the love of his life ran away after he proposed. To him, their relationship had been wonderful and he couldn’t imagine her saying no. Having her show up on his doorstep several months later is like a dream come true. He’s not letting her get away again. And this time he’s getting her to spill all her secrets.
Finding out she was in the CIA and isn’t just a socialite wasn’t what he expected. But finding out he was an asset? He didn’t know how to feel about it.
Meanwhile, Evie has a brother who’s in hiding since an op went south and he’s being blamed for it, she has a brother who’s in the hospital who was blown up at his office and refuses to see anyone, even his fiancee. MS. Reus has set up a very exciting trilogy for us!
Watching Evie learn to trust Dylan with her secrets, and watching Dylan learn to trust this new Evie was a treat. I really love tropes like this where one character betrayed another and has to work for their relationship.
The Endgame Trilogy is off to a great start and we also see some familiar faces from the Red Stone Security series as cameos. I can’t wait to see which sibling is next and where Ms. Reus takes us from there!
Bishop's Knight by Katie Reus kicks off a new series about a trio of siblings who are all pretty badass. Up first, Evie Bishop! Here are a few reasons I enjoyed the book:
- If you want tough, independent, strong heroines, look no further than former CIA operative, Evie. Also, she is still not jaded by all that she has seen! I loved that. So often, these badass heroines are jaded but Evie still believes in the triumph of good over evil. - Second chance romance! Evie walked away once but she didn't want to (remember, she was CIA so secrets were her LIFE). Now, her and Dylan are forced back together. - Dylan is a GREAT hero. He is the "strong silent type" for sure. He is lethal-former military-and also a real estate genius who is now a millionaire! - Solid balance between being a protective alpha hero and letting the heroine handle her own ish! - Great action from page one!
Fans of Kaylea Cross and Susan Stoker will enjoy Bishop's Knight for sure! Second chance romance, spies, and non stop action makes Bishop's Knight a quick romantic suspense read!
Awesome kick butt, sassy lady, secrets, murder, mayhem, broken hearted, alpha man trying to figure out the secrets and trying not to love still. Can he keep his heart intact and help save the one he loves. Awesome new series!!!
The Bishop siblings' family is on the verge of collapse as all three find themselves embroiled in danger. Family bonds may keep them alive...but only love can give them something to live for. Read BISHOP'S KNIGHT, the first novel in this ALL NEW heart-pounding Endgame trilogy!
She needs his protection...
Thanks to years of government training, Evie Bishop knows how to get into places she doesn't belong—and she's very good at it. But years of doing black ops work burned her out so she returns home—to unexpected chaos. One of her brothers is in a coma and the other is in hiding, wanted for murder. Then a fellow operative from her past shows up shot and bleeding with news that an assassin is gunning for everyone involved with a past op. She's forced to turn to the one man she knows she can trust—the man whose heart she broke.
But it will come with a price...
When Dylan Blackwood proposed a year ago, Evie turned him down flat and walked out of his life. He's stunned when he finds her on his doorstep covered in someone else's blood, needing his help. He always knew there was more to her than met the eye—that Evie was never simply the pampered society princess she wanted people to believe she was. But he never expected this. If she needs help, he'll give it. Even if he can't forget her betrayal. Even if he isn't sure he can trust her. But his protection will come with a price—her heart. Before they can have a chance at a future, they'll have to work together to take down a faceless enemy who has Evie firmly in his crosshairs.

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--BISHOP’S KNIGHT is the first instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult ENDGAME erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on the Bishop Siblings. This is twenty-eight year old, former CIA operative Evangeline ‘Evie’ Bishop, and thirty six year old, former US military soldier, billionaire businessman Dylan Blackwood’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Red Stone Security series.
Told from several third person perspectives including Evie and Dylan, using present day and memories from the past, BISHOP’S KNIGHT follows the second chance romance between twenty-eight year old, former CIA operative Evangeline ‘Evie’ Bishop, and thirty-six year old, former military and billionaire businessman Dylan Blackwood. Approximately one year earlier, while on assignment CIA operative Evie Bishop fell in love with her mark, Dylan Blackwood but upon Dylan’s proposal Evie ran without looking back. Fast forward to present day wherein Evie is desperate for Dylan’s help, a desperation that brings her face to face with the man whose heart she destroyed. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Evie and Dylan, and the potential fall-out as Evie and a group of CIA agents have been targeted by someone from their past.
Evie Bishop’s life hasn’t been easy for the past several weeks. Six months earlier she walked away from the man that she loves; her oldest brother Evan was in the hospital in a medically induced coma, and her brother Ellis was on the run, accused of killing one of his partners in the DEA. When another CIA operative comes looking for help, Evie knows of only one man who may be capable of getting the job done, the man whose heart she broke six months earlier. Dylan Blackwood could never understand why Evie ran the day he proposed but her reappearance in his life brings with it more danger and secrets than he could have ever imagined.
The relationship between Evie and Dylan is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people destroyed by secrets, lies and a government operation wherein meeting Dylan Blackwood, was a means to an end. Their reconnection is not without more secrets and lies but Evie knows to that forgiveness comes with grovelling and the truth. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Evie’s brothers: Evan and his fiancée Isla, and DEA agent Ellis Bishop; Dr. Finn Kelly, and Evie’s fellow CIA operatives-analyst Benjamin Miller and Samara, Detective Carlito Duarte, security specialist and former FBI agent Leo Webster, and several other FBI, CIA and government agents.
BISHOP’S KNIGHT introduces some of the background in relationship to the lives and struggles of Bishops siblings. The premise is engaging, intriguing and inviting; the romance is seductive and steamy; the character are colorful, energetic and strong. BISHOP’S KNIGHT is a wonderful start to a new series.

Bishop’s Knight is first in the new trilogy of standalones – Endgame Trilogy about the Bishop Siblings by Katie Reus – and it’s off to a delightful and fascinating start!
Bishop’s Knight is a second chance romance filled with intrigue, suspense and heart pounding action starring Evangeline (Evie) Bishop and the man she fell in love with during her last clandestine operation with the CIA, Dylan Blackwood.
How could any romance reader not be captivated by such a plot?
Evie Bishop was born with a silver spoon but rather than living a life of privilege, she decided to make her own way, and create her own identity in her life. Right from the start; it’s easy to see the strong, badass and intelligent heroine that she is.
But now that she has retired from the CIA, she comes back to find that her family is in shambles – one brother accused of murder and the other brother lying in the hospital after almost losing his life in a bombing. She is also trying to ignore the fact the she is back to the same town as the man she fell in love with; and even though she desperately wants to, she has decided not to cross paths with Dylan Blackwood.
That plan is shot (you’ll understand the pun soon enough!) to hell when her ex -colleague and her friend, Samara lands on her doorstop with a bullet hole in her – and the theory that someone is gunning for their team for the last operation, and she has no choice but to turn to one man, she is sure that wouldn’t be welcoming to her.
Dylan Blackwood, on the other hand, isn’t over the woman who broke his heart without any reason; thus, he sure is shocked when she lands on his doorstep with a wounded friend, and is asking for his help. It surprises both of them when he doesn’t turn Evie away and jumps with both feet in, to help her out.
Dylan Blackwood is the best kind of hero there is – he is protective without being overbearing and even through the hurt, he is the solid support that Evie needs, not only through someone gunning for her but also through the emotional upheaval in her family.
As a reader while I absolutely understood the hesitancy Evie showed for not sharing the secrets that kept her from being with Dylan; as a woman I didn’t understand how she couldn’t see that the longer that she kept her secrets, the more unforgivable will be her secrecy.
I enjoyed this intriguing second chance romance, but I am also quite excited to see where Ms. Reus takes the Bishop brothers in their journey for HEA!
