Rate this book
Andrew, Judy, and Thudd have landed in the Australian rain forest. They must find a way to the river and Uncle Al, but they're still the size of bugs! They dodge rhinoceros beetles and tree kangaroos, dangle dangerously above the jaws of a carnivorous plant, and have a close encounter with a carpet python. Will they ever reach Uncle Al? Or will they be shrunken Down Under for good?

first, my son was intrigued by this story. one thing right after another....

that said. I couldn't get over the language and behavior. the story was so fast paced with too much going on. comprehension was limited. Maybe a little too high for my son.

I don't feel the characters were developed except through the cheesy words they used. they weren't kind to each other and repeated things over line wowzers schnauzers, wierd-a-mundo, holy moly, and super-duper pooper-scooper.

I don't appreciate Judy calling Andrew bug-brain multiple times throughout the book either. this is not something that I need my son calling his little sister. I'd rather my kids read with characters that model integrity and care for each other.

Unless my son really asks, I will not pick up another one of these books.

Luke's review: This book featured lots of insects and flowers of the rain forest. The main characters are named Andrew, Judy and Thudd (who is a pocket sized robot). They shrink to miniature size using one of Andrew's inventions called the Atom Sucker, which sucks the space out of atoms!! These books are fascinating! I love them! I'm going to read Andrew Lost in the Garden right now!
