G. Schirmer is one of the oldest publishers of classical music in the United States. It was founded in 1861 by Gustav Schirmer (1829–1893) a German immigrant to New York.

The famous yellow-covered Library of Musical Classics first appeared in 1892. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

After the 2nd World War the firm passed out of Schirmer family hands. In 1968 it was bought by Macmillan, who sold it in 1986 to Robert Wise, the owner of popular music publisher Music Sales Inc, now rebranded as the Wise Music Group.

These are classics - all lovely - performed a concert of these once. Worth learning and not too difficult.

Bought this for studying voice. The 24 greatest hits really does have it all. I've learned well over half of these songs and love every single one of them.

A standard book for beginning (and non-beginning) singers and for good reason: the pieces are lovely and offer a variety of levels. I've learned several of these and there are still more that I'm hoping to add to my repertoire. It's a great volume to work through in a learning environment, but I have a nice time learning them on my own, too.

Any singer will have this book in their collection. Great Italian standards fairly easy arrangements and accompaniment.
