But does Ransom want that responsibility especially when the honor is the birthright of his older twin brother Harley, the weak, impressionable son with the darkened soul? Will Ransom and Billy find their way back to one another with all the obstacles they face, or are the pressures to conform to their family expectations end them for good? Will Harley, Pitch, and Digger see the error in their vile ways? Is Slade ready to put his hound dog tendencies behind him? And if so, is it too late for him and Claudia? Or has an unexpected attraction she has to another sealed their marriage's fate? D. A. Young is a best-selling author and lover of multilayered adventures. Food, traveling, and music are her passions. You can often find all three in the contemporary escapades she creates.
Yoooooooooooo!!! This joint was fiyah! Billy has really put her big girl panties on and Ransom shows his softer side. But don't get it twisted. He's not the number one enforcer because of his looks.
Everything you wondered about in book one (and you must read book 1 first) has been answered and them some! So many snakes in the grass and Ransom is the mongoose.
Love this wild adventure and can't wait for the conclusion. I know it's going to be explosive. Literally...
Damnnnn awesome! So happy Ransom and Billy found their way back to each other. Harley Harley...tsk tsk if only you were different. But this book kept me on my toes. So much secrets and deception. It was a fun rollercoaster ride and I can't wait for the final installment. I know D.A Young wouldn't disappoint . Totally worth the read
Good for the most part. Review to follow. The only thing I'm interested in for book 3 is Angela's babies being revealed to Ransom and Claudia (no spoiler - this is from book 1), and seeing if anything happens between Claudia and Marcus. Ransom/Billy, don't care. Lorelia and the Aztec drama, don't care.
This right here is one hell of a story! This was definitely worth the wait! D. A. Young put her soul in this one! She masterfully laid this out where every chapter left you waiting and wondering when all hell was going to break loose! The ending was brilliant! I’m so looking forward to book 3!
Ransom and Billy are a sweet couple caught in the middle of hellfire and deceit of epic proportions and they don’t even know it! Thinking the worst is behind them, they have no idea of the Hell winds blowing their way. Harley’s sins and the TKO Ransom put on Slade pales in comparison to what’s to come. They’ve found their way back to each but will they survive this next round of madness?
For Slade and the Immortals, past sins have come home to roost and secrets revealed. Revenge is calling in the note and somebody has to pay!
4 "Billy and Ransom" stars Billy and Ransom's love story was contagious, what with Billie being unashamed of who she is, but a bit too brave and kind of naive, and with Ransom being, first, my type of hero, broody, possessive, protective, artistic, loyal, rough and deadly. And those are just a few, lol.
Billy and Ransom's love seemed impossible at times, and at other times, it seemed like the author was slacking on their moments of together time and development because the story had so many points of view from other characters.
Yet, the multi-character POV style and the suspense in the story were built up enough to keep my attention, even if the ending was both like "YAY" and like "WTF?" LOL
Though this is an interracial romance, the better genres to describe it would be a mix of thriller, historical fiction, and romance because the story is set in the late 80s/90s, with his lady, the hero shares a love of culture and history of the areas of the western desert of the United States, some settings in California, and the MC world that serves as a backdrop and most of the conflict is a world of crime, psychological abuse, misogynistic violence, and dramatic irony (the audience-on the edge because some characters don't know the monsters among them).
Bottom line: I enjoyed this read and look forward to revisiting this world.
Update: If you read this series, I know you'll like, especially the first 2 books (good romance, bier club drama, suspense, and character building, but my advice? Stop at book 2! Stop at this book because if you go on with this couple and the characters around until book the second installment of book 3, then you more than likely will find disappointment. This author drops the ball towards the end, IMO.
I was reading another motorcycle book, finished that one and was about to start another book when this one came out. Long story short, I decided to read this one.
So we picked up where we last left off with Billy and Ransom pinning for each other but you remember this is mid 90's and they can't just use the internet to find and stalk each other.
I'm going to say Billy and Ransom remain one dimensional to me. Billy is too wise for her age and she just wants everyone to get along. It's not that I don't like her but I need something other than her mother's death to challenge her. I swear, when I read her character she sounds as if she is in her 30's vs in her late teens. Speaking of Melody. Billy seems to rely on her mother's advice but if you really view the role she played in everyone's lives, she was extremely selfish and almost an *ss hole.
I'm confused of what Pitch, Harley, and Digger were doing for Barrera and Harley was just an idiot. For Pitch to be described as "cunning" he was dumb and more than likely bisexual or gay. Since he couldn't quit Harley lol
Slade, I'm not sure. I felt like he had an extra plan that never unfolded. Anyways. I like the book but I felt like it was lacking and the storylines didn't unfold in a dramatic manner like they should have. Especially the situation with Pitch, Angela, and Billy. Just the way that unfolded was not a favorite of mines.
I feel like I knew about the extra character added. I knew who he was and how he would unfold. I'll read the next book. The plots and storylines need a better rollout than this book.
This story was a page turner from beginning to end. Many things smacked me in my face, leaving my mouth gaped opened. The twists and the ties that were revealed were stunning. I was happy for the reunion of Ransom and Billy, and you get to witness a different side to Ransom when someone messes with those he holds dear. I'm so over Lorelei, so whatever comes her way is warranted. Slade just don't know when to stop, but I believe he'll learn so enough, even though he already should know. I can't wait to see how every thing unfolds in book three. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and highly recommend this story and this series.
I didn't realize this story would be a cliffhanger....well part of the story had kind of a resolution. however, there's still a lot left to be resolved. There are several sub-storylines going on within this story, the main story of the interracial relationship between the motorcycle club President's college graduate enforcer son and a college freshman finally found themselves back together and stronger than ever before. Now I have to wait until the end of the month to listen to part 1 of book 3 and the beginning of August to hear what I think will be the final part of of the book...book 3 part 2...I usually enjoy D.A. Young books...but for me this series was a let down.
All I have to say is DA Young is on top of her game in this series. I loved the heroine, she is beyond refreshing. Billy is one of the smartest and straightforward heroine I've read in a really long time. She's the best part of this series, she's only 19 but has confidence of a woman twice her age. I also like the quotes and sayings from her deceased mother which have been guiding her on her journey of self discovery and first love. I'm hoping the next book focuses on Ransom's new life outside of the MC and his adjustment to "civilian" life. I will say that I honestly did not care about Claudia and Marcus and too much of the 2nd book was devoted to these secondary characters. Hopefully more time is devoted to the main characters.
This was the second book in this series. Some things were wrapped up, while others were not. There were so many storylines, that at times, it was difficult to keep up.
I skimmed through a lot of this book. There were just soooo many words - lots and lots of exposition. Many times I skipped to dialogue just to move the story along. And oh my goodness, the constant flashbacks were REALLY annoying.
Most of the book dragged along at a snails pace. When will Ransom and Billy figure their relationship out? Not soon enough. Will Angela ever tell Billy who the assaulted her and fathered her babies? Not soon enough. Will the raping/murdering/kidnapping trio ever get caught? Not soon enough. And everything else in this book was 'not soon enough.' Mostly everything came to head at the end of the book, but it was almost too late. I almost didn't even care. Almost. Though, I did care enough to finish the book.
There were also some things that didn't make sense and were just a little too convenient.
I didn't know this was a three part series, and that the first two books would end on a cliffhanger. I can't honestly say that I would've been willing to invest the time. I gave this book four stars, and not three, because even with all the unnecessary narration and exposition in this book, I could not put it down.
Ties really do bind and I'm looking forward to the full circle of this effect. This installment picks up where book one left off. To go deeper into how Ransom handled the breakup with Billy was enlightening. Ransom demonstrates in words as well as deeds just how much Billy means to him. It was also great to see how Billy continues to grow and transform into her own person. I'm on the edge of my seat with this story. The author not only builds on the previous story but also dives deeper. The relationships between Billy, Rage and her grandparents were inspiring after seeing the struggle they had in the first book. I could understand their need for each other as well as what they all mean to one another. To the things that happen to Harley, Pitch, and Digger....HELL YEAH, justice. Now, please tell me that Lorelei will get hers? Looking forward to reading the conclusion. This book is a must read and the author continues to blaze the literary trail with her gift of storytelling. Job well done Mrs. DA.
D.A. Young did not disappoint with this second book. The plot was on point and executed very well. It flowed fluidly between scenes and thought processes of the characters.
God does not like ugly, so the old folk say, but Harley and his cohorts did some terribly ugly things and got just what they deserved along with Slade.
Billy had a tough year, losing her mother, leaving Ransom, putting her best friend Kent on notice, and other things that would make the average person's head swim. Ransom was no better after Billy left him. He tried his best to forget Billy but could not. He finally gave in to find her so he could have closure but they ended rekindling their relationship. They both realized that resistance was futile for them.
This story was action packed with drama that kept my attention from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading book 2 and can't wait for book3.
So glad Billy and Ransom were reunited. Looking forward to their continued growth individually and as a couple. Felt sorry for and glad about what happened to Harley, Pitch and Digger. Sorry cause they were just soulless and it's sad to know of people like that and glad that they got just what was coming to them. EVERY BIT OF IT. I cannot wait until Marcus gets his hands on Lorelai. It would be totally awesome if Barrera found out who she was and sold her! Now, back to my headline...Nick Olente that slimy "new professor" I felt in my bones he was no good when introduced and it was confirmed every time he was featured, all the while trying to hit on Billy. I can only hope when he gets his it will be at the hands of BOTH Billy AND Ransom. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the finale to this series.
I have read just about everything that Ms Young has written, and I have to say that she never disappoints, and this book was not an exception. I was glad that we did not have to wait too long for Billy and Ransom to find their way back to each other. Their chemistry was palpable. You could almost feel the tether pulling these two to one another. I must say, though very young Billy had her head on right. She was not willing to compromise her ideals for any man, and that was refreshing. I did feel for Harley. Yes, he was horrible person, but there was so much underlying pain there, that I couldn’t help but feel bad for him and hope for some redemption. I am super excited to see what trouble Loralei starts in book 3. That is one very angry, bitter woman and she is taking everybody down with her
Absolutely brilliant story, an awesome read...can not wait for the last instalment
This story continues straight after the first book ends, if you've read books written by D.A. Young you will be aware of her ability to bring a story to life, this is no different, it was like I was watching a film and didn't want it to end. The last paragraph made me gasp....I was in shock and so desperate now to read the next instalment. I love that Billy and Ransom have got back together, I was just so glad that they realised they loved one another and could not live without each other. Harley, Pitch and Digger met befitting endings so no love lost there....! I can't explain enough how great this book is you just have to read it! Brilliantly written story!!
Plots and twists .....tricks and turn....round and round the vengeance goes....where it'll stop...nobody knows....except D. A. Young....and she's not telling until book three is here.....I love it when a beautiful plot comes together....Ransom and Billy are in for quite a surprise..Marcus and Claudia are about to go to the next level...maybe...Slade is going to be a formidable opponent....Lorelai...what can I say about a trick pony....she has backed stabbed everyone in her inner circle....and just when you think she can't get any worse....she goes and make a deal with the devil....Barrero....I am counting down the days until we have the possible finale.
Took me long enough to read this but I enjoyed every single page!
Where do I start with this?! Well, that’s easy for me. I have an identical twin sister and my heart broke for Harley. I would have done anything to get my sister help. Rehab, therapy and prison. No matter what went on between us, I’d have a miserable life if she shared the same fate as Harley. Of course Harley did horrible acts but he clearly needed help due to his upbringing. Wow, I’m really in my feelings 😢
Once again, Ms. Young did her thing. Started out kind of slow but it got so good towards the end. So much family drama!! 😈
That cliffhanger tho 😳😮😫
I would recommend this series and all of Ms. Young’s books to all of my friends or anyone who reads this review.
This was really fun to read. I actually like Billy better now in Book 2. She's strong-willed and maybe even a bit wise beyond her years too. I think she and Ransom are really good together. There's a lot of surprising twists in this saga that will make your mouth drop open in total shock. This is not only a romance story, but also a story about family and the complicated relationships that most of us experience in real life. I really liked that aspect of this series. I am rooting for Ransom and Billy and also Claudia (Ransom's mom) and Marcus (Billy's dad) too! Could this be a romance within a romance story? I guess I'll find out in Book 3! Anxiously awaiting that one.
Bonus points that the author managed to get Prince in there including some lyrics from "Get Off." LOVE IT1
Still no connection to the characters. I don’t root for the couple but I will continue the series…
Character notes: Billy: The biker/store scene was stupid 🙄 She knew they were in the same MC as Ransom and instead of speaking up, her immediate thought was violence. Although, she handles herself when necessary. Ransom: Nothing special but a great enforcer Claudia: She’s one of “those” boy moms 🤢 Slade: Awful but a good antagonist. Worst dad EVER. Loralie: I liked her in the 1st book. Unfortunately she’s a cliche, career driven women brought down and driven crazy by her own feelings over a MAN 🙄 Grandparents: GO Porsha! Nevel, I appreciate the growth Nic: Why is he here? Kent: Good for him
When I discovered that part two of this series had been released I stopped all activities and got to reading! The writer does not disappoint, you are immediately thrown back into the chaos. The writer places you back in the action and let's you know that this is going to be one thrill of a ride.I love we still fully developed characters, along with a storyline.I love this love between.Billy and Ransom and that they have staked their claim on one another and not letting go. The writer in former fashion let's you know with good solid writing that you are going too love this story.I can't wait for the next ,everything comes full circle.
Omg this book had some drama, I loved it! I'm happy Billy and Ransom got back together and that they are so happy. I'm sad that Slade has no love for his children. He is a very selfish person. I can't believe how much of a monster Harley was, he definitely was a messed up person. Pitch and Digger got what they deserved, I'm glad they are gone. I was kinda feeling bad for Lorelai, but now I can't stand her and can't wait to see what happens to her. With a lot of the story lines wrapped up I felt like Ransom and Billy's story was done but leave it to DA apparently there is more to come. I can't wait to see what she does next. Ill be waiting patiently DA!
My biggest issue with this author is that I read her books too quickly because I can’t put them down. Then she can’t write fast enough for me. Her books are amazing. Characters are well developed and do interwoven that you never know what’s gonna happen next. For instance, I did NOT see that ending coming with Nick being related to the head of the cartel. Nor did I see Harley taking his own life. Ransom is a beast in this book and Billy is no wilting flower. I can’t wait to see how it all comes to a head in the final installment
DA Young does what she does best but on a very different level. Sexy, gritty, raw and deep it made me cry, hot and bothered, laugh and just so many emotions but I couldn’t put it down. Even when I got to the difficult parts I still couldn’t put it down and when it was done I still wanted more and I can’t wait to see what’s next. You are a master at your craft as I’ve often said but it takes a special person with an extraordinary gift to give us such a gripping, sexy and raw story that it takes you to a different place. Well done and mission accomplished D A Young 👏🏽👏🏽❤️
D.A., You are on it! The twists and turns are right up my alley, since I love the romance when it is also tied into suspense and mystery. Love, Love, Love Billy and Ransom and so happy there is going to be more. That heffa Lorelei needs her hindparts whipped, and I kinda think that's what's going to happen. I knew that sly Professor Olente was not all he initially presented. Man it should be something to read how our Heroes and Heroines get outta this one. Anxiously awaiting Book 3!
D.A.Young ,I have read all your books, and I love them ALL...! You 'he never disappoint... Billy and Ransom's love story is spellbinding... Their journey is very tough, but both of them are so strong... Even though they are young ,together they will be a force to be reckoning with... So bring it on!! So disappointed in that bitch Lorelai, woman's scorn and all that crap... And Nick Orlente ...wow. Claudia and Rage!!!☺☺☺😀😀😀Yes! Can't wait for book 3!!
Wow! This installment was on point. Karma finally found Pitch, Digger and even Harley, though he took the coward's way out. So, so happy Ransom and Billy found their way back to each other. What does the future hold for them? That Lorelai character is too much, can't wait to learn her fate. The cliffhanger lends itself to so many questions and I will eagerly await the third and final installment of this wonderful series.
I was very excited for the return of these characters This was full of thrills and intrigue. For the first time ever I look forward to a continuation. I need to know what happens to the twins that Angela is having. ThIs book takes some contemplating because of the continuation it makes you anxiously await who actually gets what they deserve. Hopefully there will be a HEA.
