HITACHI Hayato, long-suffering working adult, is swept underwater by an errant wave one Sunday, and is saved by URASHIMA Tarō. He wakes up in the Dragon Palace underneath the sea, where he is offered by Otohime a return to his world — as long as he takes Urashima with him. Otohime promises to use her influence to get him a better job and he agrees, but Urashima doesn’t want to return to human society …
Yo, I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. I was wondering why we were talking about a NEET (not in education, employment, or training) but it turns out we were talking about Urashima Tarō, who is apparently the very definition of a NEET for like at least a thousand years.
I love the characters too — in addition to Otohime, Hayato and Urashima, we have Tatsuhiko — Otohime’s step-brother — and Kameyasu, a loyal employee (? I want to call him that) of the palace. Tatsuhiko and Kameyasu are really cute together.
