"... spannend, viele unvorhersehbare Wendungen, sehr sinnlich, gut dosierte und passende Erotik..." - Amazon Leser Rezension

"She felt oxygen deprived when he was near, like she'd been standing too long atop a very high mountain, everything else small and diminished in the face of his presence."
description

Primal is the second book in the London Mob Series. The danger is looming, and innocent lives are at stake!

description
"Whatever happened, they were with Farrell, and that meant they were safe."
Jenna and Farrell managed to find their way back together only to be ripped apart once again. No matter how hard Farrell tries to protect Jenna from the dangers of his world, they continue to find themselves smack in the middle of every car chase, kidnapping, beating, and shoot out the dark side of London has to offer.
"He was who he was. He loved her like no one else ever would. But the decision fo come to him had to be hers, and it had to come with full knowledge of who he was and what his life meant."
As Jenna continues to battle her desire of keeping her family safe and her draw to Farrell, Farrell stops at nothing to show her that he is more than willing to be everything she needs. As the secrets are revealed, their bond only continues to grow. Jenna finds herself admiring Farrell and the plot shifts as Jenna and Farrell band together to face their adversaries.
"Her body's reaction to him was raw and elemental. Animal. Primal. Unstoppable. Allowing him to possess her body was inevitability."
Told in dual POV, Primal only continues to captivate me as the plot continues to develop. Farrell and Jenna have to solve a mystery, keep their family protected, and manage to find the time to explore each other intimately (wink-wink)! Farrell is quite the hero with his charismatic demeanor and his "alpha male" ways. I am happy to see Jenna is developing more as her faith in Farrell is growing stronger. Together these two are a force to be reckoned with! Another happy addition to this read is the setting! I love being transported from London to Italy to Paris and all while riding along on high-speed chase!
description
Overall, I highly recommend Primal! This read is action packed, smoking hot, and offers hours of entertainment. I am so glad I stumbled upon this series. Another warning...once you finish this read...you won't be able to stop!!!!!! Luckily the third and final book in the series Eternal is already available!

4.25 "the heart wants what it wants" stars

Jenna and Farrell's story takes another turn when Jenna and Lily's lives, living apart from Farrell, become endangered again. Farrell won't wait any longer, he gave Jenna enough space to come to her senses, now it's time to deal with the fact that he is there for them, to protect them no matter what.

Jenna still resents Farrell's lifestyle and she wants to protect Lily from all of it, so she could have a carefree childhood, but Jenna alone can't keep her safe anymore…
You can't have it both ways, Jenna. You want her to be safe, but you want her to be free. That's not how the world works, and I think deep down you know that.

But I wont let you down again…they'll have to come through me.

Jenna slowly realizes that she wont change anything until the mess with her father's murder and stolen documents and the lingering danger that can have a massive damage in unimaginable proportions, she excepts the fact that Farrell is the one, and he always has been.
He was who he was. He loved her like no one else ever would. He could protect her and Lily like no other man could. But the decision to come to him had to be hers, and it had to come with full knowledge of who he was and what his life meant.

And there was no more denaying…she always belonged to him…on every possible level of existence.
What they had was unique and beyond words of description…carnal need and essential pull for survival.

 photo 6b65ceb7-0876-4b11-bd22-aa260e001a66_zpspdtisbpg.jpg

There was no more hidding from her feelings…
She knew there was only one life for the both of them. A life with him. Whatever that meant. Whatever it brought.

she belonged to this man.
…his gaze piercing through every defense she'd ever laid against him. It was the gaze of someone who knew her. Who loved her. Who would die for her.

The minute she gave into him. The decision was made, the dice fell the way they were meant to fall all along.
No more indecision. No more running. Just you and me.

While they are trying to resolve the massive ploy meant to be used as s means of a massive destruction and when the realisation hits them both, on this dangerous chase and path where witnesses are dropping dead like flies, putting them in the public eye as suspects. The measure scale tips over to the survival side.
In a dog eat dog world, being the bigger, meaner dog was your only defense.

Meaning they have to change tactics, and Jenna needs to step up, toughen up and take charge.
You could try to hide, but the world was filled with danger, and when that danger rose up to meet you, there was only one kind of response that made sense.
Fight or be beaten. Kill or be killed.
And she would do either opf those things to protect the people she loved.

the danger lingers on...and the chase in hunting down the truth leads them both to either more danger and the unwanted revelation? Which will come first...find out in book 3...ETERNAL

Well damn...

If I could kick my own hind parts for sleeping on this series, I definitely would! This is the second book in the London mob series and it's so friggin awesome I devoured in one sitting! I couldn't stop reading this story. I had to know! I had to know! I had to KNOW!

Farrell is one capable Alpha mob boss! This dude will go to any lengths to keep his family safe! It's so awesome to read how different the mob life in America is compared to the mob life in England. I won't give anything away except to say there is NOTHING tradional about Farrell's mob life!

Things definitely evolve between Jenna and Farrell. Gotta read this awesome story to find out what I mean......have you ever visited Amsterdam? Pretty intense scene in this story......lets just say it's definitely on my bucket list!

The final installment, Eternal, will hit the kindle on June 14! I CANNOT wait!

5 gazillion stars for this awesome story!

Farrell and Jenna

I really like Farrell and Leo they protect what's theirs with no questions asked and lily is an amazing girl. Farrell is doing everything he can for "his girl" that left him and his daughter that he recently learned about.. but Jenna I find is naive not even stubborn. I feel like she doesn't grow and never understands but wants to make decisions to keep her daughter safe knowing that she's already in danger because of the files she found.. yet what Farrell do will keep her and danger and unsafe. Honestly she's in denial and naive insecure whatever you want to call it-majority of the book just let the man protect from danger that he didn't even cause and stop complaining look like the suspense of the book of what happens next and finding the pieces to a long a dangerous puzzle

Primal...

London Mob book 2. Ok I'm ok. I hate loved this book. I loved it cause the storyline is fantastic. The characters have super hot chemistry. But I hate it cause some of it is quite unbelievable. Ok so Jenna who loved this man fan away to have his secret baby in book one. Now h here she is living like a guarded queen but is ready to run cause he protects her so well. And she leaves said child to go off chasing down leads and bad guys with her protector. Also Farrell who is a super duper crime boss went from hard ass to letting her follow ago on dangerous situations. Farrell is doing his best to protect them from a situation she dropped in his lap. Jenna in my humble opinion sucks in this book. She is judgey, immature and has bratty tendencies. For example shoot out scene in forrest. Action pack, hot AF, and highly dramatic. Next book please.

Hooked

I originally started with the series. I wasn’t expecting anything at all. Maybe another romance novel. But then as I kept reading, I couldn’t put my tablet down. I got hooked and just couldn’t stop. When I finished the first book. I was hooked beyond what I could have imagined. So I had to get the second book. Honestly I expected the same result from Jenna towards the end of the first. But I was in shock when I found out she finally stopped over thinking it and allowed her heart to finally take the lead. Now I can’t put it down and it’s time for the third book in the series.

Omg I’m hooked and I can’t stop talking about it.

Action-packed race to figure out what the papers Jenna found in her father's safe deposit box are about and who wants them so bad that they are willing to kill them for it.

Wow, this left me breathless and my heart racing all the way to the finish....which isn't finished! Now I'm on pins and needles to see what's next and how this ends.

Love it!

Love it!

This is an amazing continuation of the Nico Vitale series. While these are stand alone books from Nico’s, they continue on and give you insight into what is happening with in the Syndicate. You meet Farrell in those books in what appears right after Jenna left. Now you finally get to read their story.

The heat is set to boil

Jenna and Farrell are caught in a squeeze play as they get closer to finding the answers they need. The action and suspense are off the chain in this installment. Jenna finally understands Farrell and I love that she's in it to win.

We’re still untangling this massive conspiracy which is interesting. I got a little irritated with Jenna’s indecision but things get resolved. I like this a lot! Farrell’s love for Jenna is so fierce.

Jenna Carver is still reeling.

After a shootout that almost cost her daughter Lily her life, Jenna is trying as hard as she can to make a normal life for Lily. Jenna doesn’t know if here life will ever be normal again. She hides instead inside her London flat, putting a wall between herself and the world, trying to keep the outside world at bay. This includes Farrell Black.

Jenna knows what her heart wants but her mind keeps getting in the way. Yes, her heart will love no other man aside from Farrell, but can she give her daughter a life filled with crime and murder when all she wanted to do is keep Lily safe from all of that?

For his part, Farrell is doing everything he can to make sure that Jenna and his daughter are safe. He would do anything, kill anyone that threatened their safety. The papers that Jenna found in Milan are hidden, but that doesn’t mean they are safe. When a man starts following Jenna and Lily when they are on their way home and threatens their lives, Farrell steps in almost killing the man.

He tells them that there are other people after the papers and that they won’t stop until they get them. Having delved into the papers, Farrell knows that the information they contain could mean the end of the world should the research fall into the wrong hands.

Farrell knows that the only thing to do is to keep Jenna and Lily safe. Flying to Milan, he takes Jenna and Lily to one of his houses. There the passion between Jenna and Farrell explodes once more and Jenna gives into it, knowing that it all might be too much. Would she rather be free from the criminal side of the mob? Or have a live with Farrell?

When someone close to Jenna is killed, they know that they must find out more information and unlock the secrets that are hidden. They have to find out more about the virus that has been created and how to stop it. It’s a bioweapon that could start a world war.

They, and the world, are running out of time…

I absolutely loved this book. Once again, Michelle St. James pulls out all the stops to give you a tale full of danger, passion and romance. However, her romance novels have something that I find to be lacking in a lot of others: it has tons of heart.

You actually care for these characters, you yearn for Jenna to give in to what we know her heart wants, you hope that Farrell will learn to forgive Jenna for her past deeds. The secondary characters also impress me and I want to know more about Farrell’s second in command, Leo as well as Jenna’s sister Kate. I also want to know more about Farrell’s brother, Evan. It takes a very talented author to make you fall for the main characters, but also for the secondary ones.

As well as the unending sense of danger within the novel, the passion that burns across the page, there is also a serious internal struggle inside of Jenna. How many of us can relate to what she is going through? That the heart knows what it wants but the mind and rational thinking try to tell the heart that it’s wrong. That the mind knows more about what’s good for you than the heart does, so you walk away from love. I know I’ve done that before and I know a few of you out there have as well. What we think we want isn’t necessarily what’s best for us.

The emotion involves in this novel, from the internal struggle of Jenna’s to the need to protect at all costs within Farrell, is primal in it’s purest form. The novel ends with a cliff hanger, assuring us that Jenna and Farrell will have to fight with all they have if they are going to have their happily ever after.

I can’t wait to see how it all turns out in the third book in the London Mob Boss trilogy, Eternal!

Heat, emotion, danger – this story has it all…

I couldn’t wait, could not wait, to get my hands on this second story in the series. The first had an emotional wallop that I thought couldn’t be duplicated. I was so wrong…

Farrell Black and Jenna Carver had a complicated relationship. There was love between them, I don’t think that was ever the problem. It was simply everything else that got in their way. Farrell’s career choice was questionable, and Jenna has never been able to reconcile herself to loving a man who did what he did. Who was what he was. She was beginning to realize though that who and what he was could be the only thing to keep her and their daughter alive…

“Her body’s reaction to him was raw and elemental. Animal. Primal. Unstoppable.”

I couldn’t read fast enough as this second in the series picked up right where the first left off. So many questions were left up in the air and the emotional turmoil is never far from the surface as the danger that parted them would bring them back together again. With each determined to protect and love their daughter Lily above anything else their actions and choices had her at the centre every time. And they had many hard choices to make as violence revisited their lives once again. There were many heart-in-the-throat moments as they tried to figure out where the threats were really coming from. No one was immune as the violence hit close to home, the grief and loss spurring them on.

The emotion and tension between Farrell and Jenna leapt off the pages as their worry and love touched each action and thought. Farrell was even more protective and loving, The lengths he went to, that he would always go to, to protect those he loved just added to his beyond sexy persona. Jenna was vulnerable but stronger than ever as she struggled to make the right decisions for herself and those she held close. There was hot loving, heartfelt emotion and danger that you could almost touch.

This story ended way too quickly, with an unexpected twist that has me clamouring for the next instalment. Please say it will be here soon!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Primal is book 2 in the London Mob series by author Michelle St. James. Jenna Carver just wants to live a quiet normal life with her daughter Lily. Trying to move on from the devastating loss of her father and the discovery that he was murdered because of the papers he uncovered, she soon learns that that is impossible. The same people who killed her father are now after Jenna, wanting the papers she uncovered. Farrell will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves and his child. Since Jenna had left him, he has been tracking her and Lily, watching out for any signs of danger. Luckily for Farrell, when trouble came knocking on Jenna's door, Farrell was there to answer. On the run again, Farrell relocates Jenna and Lily to Tuscany, Italy. Farrell knows that who ever is behind this threat will stop at nothing to get the papers Jenna has possession of. Time to stop them, and that is what Farrell intends to do. Farrell along with Jenna set out to find out who is behind this chemical warfare. Danger looms around Jenna and Farrell every turn they take as so much is revealed but also so many more questions unanswered.
The more time Jenna and Farrell spend together, the stronger their connection gets. Jenna can not resist Farrell and soon they are back in each others arms. Farrell wants all of Jenna, but can she give in? Jenna starts to see Farrell and his line of work in a different light as more threats and loss consume her. Will Jenna finally let go of her reservations and let Farrell in? Will Farrell and Jenna find the people responsible for this threat? Primal was full of twists, danger, loss and heart wrenching moments. Great job Michelle St. James. I can't wait for book 3, Eternal.

Okay, there was no production done this day of reading. If I could have gotten the 3rd book in I would have but that would have meant me not sleeping at all and I just didn't have the will power to do it. OMG!!! This book drove me emotionally into the ground. Jenna was seriously about to jump into the book and bitch slap that woman!!! What more can you ask for and obviously you are no safer away from Farrell as you are with him, at least you will be with the one you love so suck it female and get over your issues!! There were a lot more threats in this book and a really sad moment, at least for me. These guys just can't catch a break and I am so worried for their other loved ones. There were a few things in the book that I was starting to get annoyed about but I just skimmed over them. I plan on not getting anything done again tomorrow because I will be reading book 3 of this stinking series, haha. I am not going to get into detail about the story because I just think that it will ruin the book for some, so all you need to know is that it is worth it and you need get it!

4 Farrell Lovin' Stars!!

Farrell is one serious alpha-male but you know - totally sweet & tender where Jenna is concerned but still has the undercurrent ...HOT undercurrent... of being in control & regardless if she's willing to admit it to herself (much like most of us women), that is just the way Jenna likes it.

There isn't much in this book about the mob or Farrell's position within the mob because most of the issues are related to Jenna's situation with her father - and that's okay IMO. There is an equal mix of the relationship, family time, being on the run and researching a way to get them out of their pickle. I just find it sort of funny in romance novels that no matter the circumstance...there is ALWAYS time for hot steamy sex. LOL (not complaining)

This was a quick read - I gobbled up book 1 and raced to start this one after the cliffhanger from book 1. So, today I'll probably gobble #3 up just as fast. Fun, suspenseful, sexy series.

I'd recommend this to a friend!
