Lovely Holmes homage and clever mystery in its own right

Reasonably interesting tribute to Sherlock Holmes, complete with a red "thing" which bites, and therefore a little bizarre in places. There are somewhat implausibly rendered professional crooks, a not-uncommon feature of books from this period.

Not my favourite but a recommended read, despite some implausibilities.

Having now completed reading the first 10 re-issues of Flynn by DSP , I should like to thank and pay tribute to them and to Steve Barge for championing this unjustly-neglected writer.

Probably my favourite of the initial ten novels in the series. Nice homage to Conan Doyle and an unwritten Holmes case.
Fast paced and almost non stop action really. Didn’t expect to finish in a day but since spent day in doors doing nothing other than reading this I have.
