One of the worst fics I have ever read. It makes Dumbledore the prime antagonist. Which could have been a great way to explore uncharted territory, instead he's just an incompetent conniving fool. Initially, I thought all of Dumbledore's idiotic doings were your typical bashing beloved characters like some fics are wont to do, but the longer I read the more I realised that Dumbledore is indeed meant to be the idiotic, incompetent nincompoop in this fic as Voldy was in canon, making elaborate plans that never see fruition because they are easily thwarted by prepubescent teens. Had it been a satirical fic, I would have fun laughing at these ridiculous scenarios where Dumbledore is a misguided evil, but as it takes itself too seriously I was left not having fun while laughing at the incredulity of the story it was telling.

The only good thing going for this fic is that it is well written, the prose is far better than what is typically found in such fics, which is a shame as everything else is downright abysmal.

***Spoiler alert in the review

I loved this book! Yes, it was long, and worth every bit of time. The bringing together of all the cultures was beautiful to watch, and having Dumbledore work with Voldemort was a turn I’d have never guessed. It kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book!

I use a03 and rarely go to ff unless specifically recommended a story that's not on a03. This one was definitely worth having to use ff.

5⭐️ - is it really the best work of fiction ever, no, do I absolutely love it and think about it frequently, yes. This is technically a reread but it’s been a while and took me several days.

What if Harry Potter wasn’t left with the Dursleys? What if instead he found himself raised by a warrior race of goblins underneath Gringotts?

This is a FanFiction of Harry Potter/Hermione Granger starting from first year through fourth year and beyond. Absolutely amazing, love the character development, love the wrongs righted, love the found family. So so good.

Unless a fanfiction is trash I will likely give it 5⭐️ for the effort and the journey.

This is one of my all-time favourite Fanfiction stories (and one i go back and reread every few years) that follows the Harry Potter Series in a "what-if" adventure, where Harry is abandoned by the Dursleys and raised by Goblins in Gringotts. The version of Harry that arrives at Hogwarts is like nobody expects, an extremely competent young man with plans for his future and the means to see those plans to fruition. Loosely following the events of the Canon, Harry steamrolls through his time at Hogwarts while standing up for himself (and especially those he cares about) and righting wrong where he sees it.

I will say that while the characters in this story sometimes feel overpowered, but I feel like it's a nice balance of contrast to the original series and how unprepared and untrained Harry was. However, this doesn't feel cheap because Robst spends time establishing how they earn their advantages. They spend time training, work hard under high stakes, and "get good" in a really satisfying way that has you believing in what they can do. Once the bad guys lose all their advantages, what do they really have going for them? What good is Voldemort without his Systemic Racism?

If there were questions you had reading Harry Potter, like "Why would the dursleys take in this orphan when they are just going to abuse him the whole time?", "Why is Dumbledore such a manipulative bastard?", "Why are the civil rights in this universe so Wack?", or especially, "how would things have gone if Harry knew what was going on the whole time?", then this story might be a fun way for you to explore those questions.

It's definitely worth the read, and it's probably even worth going back to Fanfiction.net to read as well.

It's a fun read, I've read it twice in the decade of fanfic reading. It's definitely a power fantasy. Harry is OP as heck and just generally more of a Gary sue. That said, it's fun and the author explored goblins in an interesting way. It is a manipulative!Dumbledore fic and Ron bashing fic.

My biggest complaint with the whole fic is the characters start at age 11 but act 15 right away. Particularly when it comes to romance; Harry and hermione both notice eachother romantically/sexually at age 11 which is just reeeally young for their actions and thoughts. I actually think their romance is cute, I jsut have to mentally pretend they started hogwarts at like 14 not 11 lol. This is true for Harry's maturity, intelligence and actions as well. He's crazy mature and acts like a teen not an 11yr old.

Also personally think it went a bit too hard on the Ron bashing, he's supposed to be 11 and he feels OOC to me.

Overall I'd reccomend it. It's a fun read with fun world exploration!

I likes the story of Harry raised by Goblins but unfortunately I hated the love story between Harry and Hermione. It was so gringe and prominent. It felt more like an obsession then love and they where eleven. I like love stories as a sub plot and if the characters are younger than sixteen I like only a little sprinkle of a love story. But this felt more half plot and half love story and I hated it. They couldn't be without one another, they had sex when they where 14 and married when they where 16. Sorry but I dont want to read about that when they are so young. The friendships where more my cup of tea. I liked that Harry had friends in every house and that Slytherin wasn't all bad. Also I liked that the older students teach the younger students. But for me not the best fanfic I have read unfortunately.

One of my favorite fanfics of all time - I have reread it a few times, it takes awhile as it is over a hundred chapters long. Change one thing at the beginning of the story, and watch the cascade of changes.

I'd read this before, no idea why it wasn't here.
I didn't quite enjoy it as much the 2nd or 3rd time around, it felt a bit slow and repetitious, but then perhaps that's just me. I rate it highly for effort, length, and consistency.
