Autumn Leaves Fall

Rate this book
Take babies and toddlers on an active, rhyming jaunt through changing seasons and falling leaves in this sweet board book.

Fuzzy squirrels, sly foxes, and little bunnies romp through the forest as the trees' leaves change from summery greens to amber fall colors and finally to the bare branches of early winter.

This board book will help children get excited for autumnal collecting leaf after leaf, trips to the pumpkin patch, and cozying up as the weather changes.

Amber Hendricks' short expressive lines with repeated action words make this poem perfect for sharing with babies and toddlers, and Gavin Scott's warm, cozy illustrations encourage all ages to appreciate nature.

For fans of The Happy Pumpkin , The Very Hungry Caterpillar's First Fall , and Little Acorn .

Born and raised in the Midwest, Amber Hendricks grew up reading everything she could get her hands on- including the morning cereal boxes. That passion melded into writing as well, and by the age of 11 she was writing and binding her own “books”. Although she dreamed of becoming a writer, when it came time for college, Amber opted for a more practical major. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, with an emphasis on Visual Merchandising, from Northwest Missouri State University. Amber has worn many hats in her career : Army wife, Mother, Visual Merchandiser, Certified Pharmacy Technician, and most recently, Childcare Professional. But she has always circled back to her first love of telling stories. Amber currently resides in Missouri with her husband and two children.

This charming book offers soothing sounds for a soft readaloud for babies, dynamic words for gentle movement for young toddlers, and the perfect visuals to teach changing seasons to older toddlers. Hendrick's poetry and Scott's absolutely wonderful illustrations enhance each other's richness and softness at the same time. Overall, a short and sweet board book for all seasons!

A favorite in the series in our household. My one year old loves finding the rabbit on most of the pages since it is kind of “hidden” for a young toddler. Once again, the perfect level of detail in the pictures along with simple rhymes perfect for one year olds.

Truth be told - I am ready for fall already! Summer has been pretty harsh out here in California over the last couple of years - fall is my favorite time of the year. This cute BB looks at fall and all of the changes that it brings. A great BB to read with a small child when summer is over, right before all the holidays line up.

This is a beautiful and fun picture book that helps young readers understand the science behind why leaves change color and fall off trees in autumn. The story is told in a gentle, rhyming way that feels like a nature walk through the season.
