It's very possible that the book has been extensively updated since the 2005 edition that I read but this book felt more dated than I'd hoped going into it. There's some decent introduction to the topic and a few thoughtful ideas about the purpose of language education but most of what's included feels standard within the field rather than revolutionary or critical.
