Dr. Amar Nath Prasad who teaches English Literature at University, P.G. Dept. of English, J.P. University, Chapra (Bihar) is a well-know editor and author. He has to his credit four authored books and a dozen edited books. His area of interest is Indian Writing in English. He did his Ph.D. on the work of Arundhati Roy.
Roy's book has been one of my favorite novels about India. Since my reading group is reading and discussing an Indian novel each week until the middle of July, I was interested in this critique when I saw it on my local library shelf. I found it largely disappointing but there were enough small gems to give it an average rating.
