Matchmakers in Time #2

Teatime with a Knight

A 21 st century spitfire trying to survive. A 19 th century knight descended from warriors of old. A few mysterious time travelers out to save the world. And one big fat mess! For a time …
Tory Phelps was about to hit rock bottom, so when her dream job presented itself out of the blue, she grabbed it. Little did she know her new employers were not all they seemed. Either they were wacko, or the impossible had happened.
Sir Aldrich Barrow loved to hunt and fish, so an invitation from Stantham Hall’s delightful, yet unconventional, owners was always welcome. But when the duke of Stantham hires a beautiful tutor for the duchess, Aldrich’s visit, not to mention his world, is turned upside down and then some!
Time Master Dallan MacDonald is no stranger to matchmaking. He himself was fated to be with his lovely wife, Shona. In fact, they had little choice in the matter. But matched they were and saving the world is now their thing. Playing matchmaker to someone else, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter! Can they bring two complete opposites together? Never mind the fact they’re from different centuries!
Enjoy this time travel romance with a twist about two people who couldn’t possibly fall in love … the conventional way.

Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!

NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.

I had such a blast with ‘Teatime with a Knight‘, and if you’ve enjoyed any of Geralyn Beauchamp’s ‘Time Master‘ series, or Kit Morgan’s ‘Prairie Brides‘ and the subsequent spin-off series then you are in for a delightful treat in this one. We are invited along on one of Dallan’s and Shona’s assignments of protecting the linage of future Time Masters by ensuring that the right people meet, fall in love, and marry with eventual children – all the while being in danger from some nasty villains who want nothing more than to wipe out of existence any trace of the Time Masters. We’ll also get to catch up with Duncan and Cozette, the Duke, and Duchess of Stantham who are also time travelers.

Tory is really at the end of her rope. Dead-end job, a worthless brother who won’t find a job or even pretend to be or act like an adult, and no change in sight until Tory applies for a specific tutoring job… one that will change her life as she knows it forever. She’s about to meet the man she could love for a lifetime — in another century. She’s just not aware of moving from modern-day back in time to Victorian-era England through a bit of side-stepping information and never leaving the estate. Tory is just convinced that everyone around her is cosplaying, a bit weird, but to each their own.

She’ll be befriended by Aldrich, a Knight who is friends with Duncan and Cozette. Soon that beginning friendship changes as each begins to feel the tug of their hearts (and their DNA) that quickly turns to an attraction that neither expected. Neither knows that they are being set up to meet. And life for this couple is about to get very interesting, even unbelievable at times.

I had fun, I enjoyed myself and I’m about to go download the next title in this series. If you love a good Time Slip Romance or if you’ve enjoyed one of the other series and haven’t yet discovered one of them then the ‘Matchmakers in Time‘ series is perfect for you.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Decent Read
I can't say I enjoyed this one as much as book 1 in the series. I saw absolutely no need for several of the crude statements slipped in occassionally. When she’d spotted the place she’d had visions of meth labs, or sex traffickers luring innocent women into dark rooms. But a real estate firm occupied the office closest to her and beyond that was an accountant’s office.
This book does have a near rape and 2 murders.

As Tory settles into her new job believing she works for an eccentric, wealthy royal in Sussex far from her home in California, she has no idea that she has time traveled. That part is interesting as she tries to settle in to what she believes is the biggest cosplay scenario ever. Aldrich is the perfect gentleman of the era; late 1800s. Tory turned to look at the newcomer … and promptly spilled tea all over herself, but it was a moment before she realized it. Was there no end to good-looking men in this scenario? But Sir Aldrich topped them all! He was tall and fit with dark wavy hair, high cheekbones and just a hint of five-o’clock shadow. As he made his way across the room, he seemed to glide as if he were on casters. He looked like God had taken Hugh Jackman and said, “You know, I think I can improve on this a little …”

When danger comes calling it's all hands on deck and plenty of other-worldy happenings as well. If you are a Whovian (fan of Doctor Who), you will enjoy this quote and understand the writing a bit more: “A … big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff?” When Kitty was brought into the Muirarans’ scheme, they recommended she watch every episode of Doctor Who from Doctors Nine through Fifteen to get a feel for how time travel worked. Turns out several Muirarans in hiding (or in exile) had written or would write for the program.

I found Tory's brother Benny particularly annoying and do not understand why his blood was tested but they did not wait around for the results, whereas when Tory's blood was tested the machine gave almost immediate results. Question marks like that bug me.

The story was "good" overall, and I feel invested in the series so I plan to read the next one.

3 stars = good ⭐⭐⭐

I downloaded this book with my new Kindle Unlimited subscription. I am excited to read the next one in the series. All opinions are mine alone without compensation or expectation.

I absolutely loved this second story in Matchmakers in Time series, by Kit Morgan and Geralyn Beauchamp. This was so much fun as most of it takes place in a different time thanks to Geralyn Beuchamp’s Time Master’s series.
I love how the Time Masters have to keep the world on an even keel by becoming matchmakers for people usually from different time eras. See I told you it’s fun and different from Kit Morgan’s usual books, but you will see a few characters in this that have been in Clear Creek and a few other places that Kit writes about.
Wow, the craziness she is taking us to now is fantastic and out of this world.
I love the characters, all of them, well except the bad guys.
This is another fun and crazy read of a time warped romance.
This is a must read for anyone who loves Kit Morgan or her counterpart Geralyn Beauchamp. I tell you it explains a lot of things in Kit’s crazy towns she writes about. I highly recommend this story as I do all her stories and also Geralyn Beauchamp’s Time Masters series which I have only read one so far. Believe me you will love them all.

I had mixed feelings about this book. I liked the chemistry between the hero and heroine, and I got plenty of the fish-out-of-water aspect that I enjoy in time-travel stories. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was dropped in the middle of an ongoing series. I read the first book of this series (Matchmakers in Time) and got a similar feeling, but it was stronger this time. I know that this series is a historical romance spinoff of the author's sci-fi series (written under the name Geralyn Beauchamp). Also, I found out after reading this that the book in the Time Masters series that would answer most of my questions hadn't even been released at the time of this writing.

Despite my reservations, this is a well-written book and I imagine that fans of Geralyn Beauchamp's Time Masters series will get a kick out of seeing the characters on actual assignments.

A love beyond time

When Tory took a job in England, she never expected her life to spin out of control. Wow! What an adventure. I don’t want to give anything away, but, if you read “Christmas With The Cookes”, then you can only imagine where this is leading.
I highly recommend reading “Time Master” series by Geralyn Beauchamp. It’s where it all began and everything will fall in place.
A big applaud for Kit. Keep bringing them on! I highly recommend this book and all of the series!

Loved it!

Aldrich - a knight in 1880 1/4M
Victoria/Tory- odd jobs in 2020 with a muching brother. 1/4M
I enjoyed reading this captivating story that had me at the edge of my seat towards the end. This story is fantastically written with charismatic characters and an intriguing plot/storyline. Their story has a dramatic and wonderful HEA and leads to the next story.
Disclaimer (?) I read the original story from Amazon world, this is better (if you can believe that) and answer the question of how Aldrich and Benny got along.

Tory Phelps landed a job in faraway London. Her employers were bizarre. She found herself playing a part in a very long and, to her very expensive, Victorian play. She meets Sir Aldrich Barrow, who is very good at his part. They fall in love. The only problem is that Tory really is in Victorian London and Sir Aldrich is a real knight. How crazy is this? And what will happen next? Loved this second story in the Matchmakers in Time series.

Absolutely Loved It

Another fantastic read. From the very first moment I was captivated. One of the things I love most about Kit Morgan books is that I never see the ending coming. There’s always an element of surprise in each book. I also loved getting an update on some of my favorite Clear Creek characters. Can’t wait for the next Matchmakers in Time Book to be released!

A great series to read. I love seeing the characters from previous series. It's a fun, clean time travel romance about Tory, from 2020, beginning matched with Duncan Sayer's neighbor, Sir Aldrich, a knight; while trying to defeat the person or thing to destroy the Muiraran race.
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Great story

I enjoyed the time traveling in this story. It brings so many characters together from Kit’s other books. Tory is from the 21st century and Aldrich is from 1880. They are fated to be together and with a little help from the McDonalds, Duncan and his wife Cozette things may happen but it just might be a rough road to get there.

Why ruin a good series.

I don't know why you would ruin the series by turning it into time travelling aliens.
Why not just start a separate series.
I prefer the character of the original mail order bride series.
Writing yourself in to the book was really strange. It's ruining the original series.
Now it's all about aliens. Wth.

Tory ♥️ Aldrich

This time traveling is fun! But the people involved can be treacherous. The villains are terribly evil. The love stories are swoon worthy. Aldrich, the 1880 Knight, falls in love with Tory, the 2020 woman. What a paring! So sit back and time travel to 1880’s England and meet the Knight.

Well, this was another one that I had to quit reading. The main character was making up cuss words that were just too close to the real thing, and it was rather worldly. I love the concept, I just wish I could finish the stories.

Good follow up

A fun story, a little slow in the beginning but it picked up. Not quite as good as the first in series but good enough to keep going. I enjoy the unique story line, just get lost once in a while with the many characters.
