This is a wonderful puzzle book not just for ages 6-9, but for almost any age.
Use a pencil first! We all want to do it in a pen or maker, but a pencil is the safest way not to make too many mistakes. The pages are extra thick too, if you need to erase and the lines won't show through to the page behind it. I love that each maze is a uniquely colored piece of art in and of itself. All 78 mazes are very engaging and fun for kids. Every puzzle has a solution in the back of the book as well for kids that get stuck.

“Help these archeologists uncover the secrets of this lost civilization!” the children’s book, Brain Candy: A Challenging and Fun Maze Book for Kids states at the top of one of its mazes.
~ What ~
This ninety-four-page paperback targets children ages six to nine years old who enjoy figuring out mazes. With no profanity or too scary scenes, over seventy-five colorful themed puzzles fill both sides of the pages with start and finish directives.
After an introduction with instructions, this book has a multitude of mazes for kids to follow through the open-area lines to accomplish a goal. Themes include a spiderweb, octopus, hog hedges, swimming with a porpoise, a digging dog, UFOs, leaves, bees, brains, pizza, popcorn, sea monsters, water park, roads, and more. The ending has all the answers.
~ Why ~
Our six-year-old granddaughter is bored during the stay-at-home coronavirus situation, so this is the perfect book to keep her busy. I loved the crazy animals, oddball items, and unique things to look at while trying to go from start to the finish line. Including the 3D mazes are challenging for older readers.
~ Why Not ~
Some of the mazes may be too hard for younger ones. They may be hard to view for some children based on their busyness. There are only six 3-dimensional mazes. It states it is for ages six to nine, yet it also mentions third to fourth grades so may be confusing for first and second graders.
~ Wish ~
This book may be too complicated for those with vision or concentration issues. I wish the mazes could be formatted from simple to complex so a beginner could start at the front of the book and work up to the harder ones to do.
~ Want ~
If you are looking for something to occupy a child’s time, this would be a fun source if they enjoy figuring out puzzles and mazes.

I had no idea this book would be so colorful and have so many different designs for the mazes! I am truly impressed with the variety of themes and artwork for each maze. Every page is so vibrant with all the colorful little details around the maze!
There is a maze designed like a huge man's curly mustache! haha! There are mazes designed like robots, an airplane landing on the tarmac, a chicken crossing the road, geese flying through wind and clouds, a dog digging for a bone, a lost porpoise looking for its pod, a submarine diving for sunken treasure, and a maze that leads through the Empire State Building to the very top!
Sea monsters, astronauts, trains, cars, helicopters, UFOs, Dorothy on the yellow brick road, water buffalo, T-rex, a volcano, baby birds, movie night popcorn, pizza, mini golf, meerkats, a mummy, soccer players, archeologists, and many more! This book has it all!
Forget the kids. I'm doing this one myself!

I was given an opportunity, via the publisher, to read Brain Candy!: A Challenging and Fun Maze Book for Kids. I voluntarily chose to review this activity book and my opinion is freely given.
There are over 75 mazes in Brain Candy, geared specifically to children in the age range of 6-9. After a quick introduction on how to use the book, the mazes begin. The bright, colorful pages have mazes with all different themes, from all walks of life. With titles like Hog-Hedge!, Are You My Mummy?, and It's Ready to Blow, the whimsical and fun nature of the book comes through.
Some of the mazes are more challenging than others, but the answer key in the back of the book can provide a hint or two if needed. This maze book will bring hours of fun to children in the target audience. The only negative to Brain Candy is that it gets kind of monotonous, with only mazes to provide the fun. It would have been nice had there been a fun fact or a bit of interesting information about the subject of the maze to give a little learning lesson for kids. Overall, Brain Candy!: A Challenging and Fun Maze Book for Kids is an activity book that I would recommend for the target audience.

This book is really awesome and just what I was hoping for to keep the grand-kids busy. My grand-kids are 4 and 6 and both love it. The 4 year old is a tad young to truly complete the mazes but she colored all over them and has never ending questions about the picture. The mazes vary in difficulty which is nice because my grandson was challenged and it was great bonding time to work through the mazes with him. I had the book spiral bound and I photocopy the sheets so we can continue to try working thru them. I saw another reviewer that is using sheet protectors and dry erase markers which I had not thought of and will be trying that because its a fantastic idea.
I highly recommend this book it's really fun for the kiddos!!

~~ Colorful with a GREAT variety! ~~
LOVE this book! Yes, it is for kids and so I haven't actually done the mazes but I have looked through it and our kids have been enjoying completing the mazes. Here are a few maze titles to whet your appetite:

A fun variety of mazes for ages 6 to nine. They are colorful and each maze has a fun story that goes with it. Also the mazes have illustrations with a variety of shapes and designs.
Some of the designs are an apple, a mustache, human body, dig scene under the dirt, brain, and many other fun unique designs.
Some are more complex to make it more challenging for older kids. The answers are provided in the back.

If you are into mazes or have kids that enjoy them, this is going to be a really fun book. mainly for kids ages 6-9 but I think depending on skill level any age could try.

This is a great little book of mazes for kids ages six to nine. There are cute little stories that go along with each puzzle and I loved the illustrations for them all. *Advance copy provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
