This book started out promisingly, with a heroine who was somewhat difference and interesting, but eventually deteriorated to a typical bodice ripping romance with all the regular trappings. The villain turned out to be the guy I first suspected, so that was disappointing as well. There was some nice color about Africa in the age of colonialism.
