I live in coastal North Carolina with 100 pounds of dog and 200 pounds of husband – my slice of the bed is very small. When I’m not writing or reading romance novels (or clinging to the edge of the bed…), I can often be found on the back porch sipping wine with friends while listening to an eclectic playlist. If the weather is absolutely perfect, I might join my husband on the golf course, where I always feel far more competitive than my actual skill-level would suggest.

Brittany Doyle is a real estate developer who is sent to a quiet little town in the Catskill mountains called Gallant Lake. It’s a lovely town that is starting to feel the need to update to keep up. Brittany is sent here to buy up the waterfront property for her boss. He is going to build brick condos on the crystal lake. Brittany is city girl from her perfect hair down to her Jimmy Choo stiletto heels.
Nate’s family has owned a hardware store since the township was founded. Nate promised his grandfather he would keep up the family tradition of running the store for the town. Nate is a blue Jean and plaid flannel shirt kind of guy. He likes things to stay the same and he is not a fan of change.
As Brittany Mets more of the town folks she realizes she really likes this town and she really likes the plaid shirt wearing hardware store owner. She is here to take advantage of the town’s business owners. She is supposed to get them to sell their property at rock bottom prices before the condos go up.
Can Brittany change her bosses mind? Can she save this jewel of a town? Can she and Nate make things work between them? This story was so good! I just loved this book! I recommend this book to anyone who likes opposites attract books.

Brittany Doyle is a real estate developer and she's been sent by her boss to Gallant Lake, New York, to convince the folks to sell their properties to them so they can build and modernize the town. But our heroine didn't plan on Nate Thomas, the hardware store owner she meet when she take refuge inside from a downpour.
Nate loves working at his family's intergenerational store and he doesn't believe that changing anything in town would make him or the others happier. He fought before to keep it like it is and while he's suspicious of Britanny's motives and obviously can't deny nor stop the attraction he feels for her, she's not what he expected.
At first, I wasn't sure if I would like the book because of the heroine but it ended up being my favorite of the series so far! When she arrives at Gallant Lake, Britanny is a bit uptight and condescending. I was not happy with the deception (lie by omission) she had to do and it made me wary for the chemistry between her and Nate. But it doesn't take long before she start letting go of her snobbish attitude and succomb to the charm of small town living, and the charismatic hardware store owner. There's also a dog and a parrot in this story that added to my delight at reading. Hank the parrot almost stole the show but for me, there's no one that stood a chance to win my heart like the hero did❤. Nate was such a good guy. So funny and I love how he share what he is passionated about (and how he view antiquities as interesting and important things because they have an history). He'll also fight for what he believes in and he makes life seems easy and uncomplicated.
Good characters, furry companions, great chemistry and interesting elements is what made this book a winner read for me!

I was thrilled to receive an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review that I’m gladly sharing.
This absolutely beautiful book is the 4 in the series & I swear , each one is better than the previous If thats even possible. Immediately I was drawn into this book because of ALL the well written characters that appear left & right in all the areas of this waterfront town. Britt & Nate are such opposites that it actually works really well for them. She’s on a mission to insure her boss can buy up town property but good old Nate is adamant he’s not selling . The quick relationship that Nate &’Britt develop takes both of them by surprise between “ picking “ excursions & getting to know the townspeople because of recent weather situations. I couldn’t help but love these two strong willed characters as they endured many funny situations & crucial emotionally charged moments because of their backgrounds. The story constantly played out in my head while reading because of the scenery & interesting developing situations arising because of the proposed development of the area . The final HEA was well planned & absolutely refreshing .

This was a charming story about a man (Nate Thomas) who HATES change in his life and in his town of Gallant Lake. Brittany Doyle, on the other hand, is sent to the small town in the Catskills to purchase up the lakeside businesses for her boss. Brittney "the Barracuda" is looking for a promotion to partner after this. She goes in and unexpectedly falls for the town, the people and especially Nate.
These two have several roadblocks in their future. Can the woman who grew up practically homeless come to love a man who was lied to by his own father?
I adored the POV format that this book was written in. Seeing their thoughts really helped me to connect with them so much better. I haven't faced what these two have so it really helped me to fully understand where they were coming from with their actions and communication with each other.
This story is sexy but not a lot of detail was given. Saying that though, I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18.

Brittany "The Barracuda" Doyle, a hot-headed and posh real estate developer arrives in Gallant Lake on a mission to acquire property for her boss. She is eager to do whatever she needs to do to perform her task and become partner at her firm. She quickly meets her match in Nate Thomas, the fifth generation owner of the local hardware store and founder of the Gallant Lake Preservation Society. The two clash instantly, but keep running in to each other and thinking about one another when they're not together. As their individual stories unfold, inducing their very different histories, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another. Jo McNally has written another beautiful romance with Brittany and Nate. I love the attention to detail she is able to fit into a short page count and have always loved her realistic feeling romances!

Brittany Doyle is a high flyer on the low down in Gallant Lake, New York. She’s trying to convince the locals to sell their properties backing into the waterfront so the land can be used for development. If she succeeds, a partnership is hers.
Brittany didn’t count on being made feel welcome by the locals and being adopted by a stray mutt. She also didn’t plan to have her heart strings tugged by the local hardware store owner Nate Thomas, with strong feelings about the town, the history of his store ... and Brittany. But Nate doesn’t do casual and Brittany doesn’t do permanent.
This was a fun read with the unlikely couple get-together trope, have a misunderstanding and will they won’t they get back together with the community behind heavily invested in their relationship. An easy to read book for a collection windy afternoon.

The more time he spends with Brittany, the more she is winning his heart, but he cannot shake the feeling that she's hiding something. Jo McNally creates a friendly but close-knit town, bringing characters from the previous Gallant Lake books to welcome Brittany into their group. Brittany not only find herself falling in love with Nate but also with Catskills and the people. His Changing Plans is a delightful story where opposite attracts. I didn't like Brittany at first. She had a superior attitude and was more concerned with making her boss happy and climbing the corporate ladder than what was best for Gallant Lake. But she comes to know the locals and discovers a passion for the historical town and one man in particular who lives there. Nate loves picking and his town. At first he's suspicious of Brittany, why she's really in Gallant Lake and he fights his attraction for her. She is so focused on her goals and he laid back only concerned with making enough to pay his bills. I loved the little dog Joey who was determined that she would rescue him. Nate's swearing smart talking store parrot Hank was a riot. I loved how he had a little bit of everything in hardware/antique store. The townspeople who were up in everyone's business were so funny. This was a steamy opposites attract small town romance.

This book is a keeper that I will definitely read again. It is a small town romance set at beautiful Gallant Lake with the mountains in the background. Brittany and Nate are total opposites except for both wanting to be loved. The book had me laughing and tears came out of my eyes at one point. I liked everything about the characters, the town, the cute stray dog Brittany was not going to keep, and even Hank, the parrot. I now need to read the other books in this wonderful series! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Interesting story about a real Estate developer who comes to a small town to erect condos which will ruin the small town community. She falls in love with a local man and decides not to continue the development activities without telling him. He discovers her original plan and they're both angry with each other.
So how does the story conclude that it's the man's fault? Rather a weird element to the ending although if you're okay with such an illogical conclusion then you'll enjoy this book in which, naturally, all ends happily ever after.

I liked Brittany 2.0 just fine but she is sure that the Gallant Lake deal will earn her a partnership helping her achieve her goal of Brittany 3.0. Then she meets Nate, learns the joy of picking and how the heck did she end up with a dog? Is she off the partnership track or on the right track for HEA? Her experience and the right backer means an economic boost for Gallant Lake and that's a change that Nate can believe in! I received a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book. In fact I started to read and just couldn't stop till I realized that I was done. The story line and the characters are just wonderful. This easily could be made into a tv movie on Hallmark. Jo hit a home run with this!

I really liked this book. The characters were meaningful and the author told a good story. The descriptions of the area were spot on and described beautifully. I felt as though I was right there with them.

This was such a fun read. Jo has a way of creating characters that pull you in from the beginning. Each of these Gallant Lake books are heartwarming and funny. I loved Hank the cursing parrot.

This is my first book to read in the series, as I was picked for an Advance Copy for my honest review.
I'm totally in love with this, beautifully written, the way Jo has written this makes it feel very real and you feel part of the story and your there too.
The characters, Nate and Brittany are so strong, and really work well together. The plot was so beautiful I could picture the setting, truly believable. I will now be purchasing the rest of the series, it's so good. thank you Jo .5**
