The first edition of Great Camps of the Adirondacks --now available in an expanded, updated edition in hardcover.
A valuable and beloved guide to the Great Camps of the Adirondacks. It was to this region that the rich and famous at the turn of the century repaired after spending July in their Newport cottages. Nowhere are are the exuberant glories of rustic vernacular architecture more happily displayed than in these rambling and inventive homes.
Good coffee table book with lots of facts about the Adirondacks. It reminded me of my childhood visits to family who lived there, not in any of these camps, of course! Many beautiful photos of the lakes and mountains.
