let me see, the guy betrays her, ruins her life and thinks the best plan to redeem himself is to marry another woman ???? This is a joke right?🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
"The Luxembourg Betrayal", book 6 of the International Legacies Romance was a thought-provoking second time around story with a good girl, Demetria Knight and Luca Wolff. Their story was so worth the wait! I loved the push and pull and how they both had changed after major problems but still were destined to be together!
While the story itself is good, there are some problems with this book.
1. The blurb seems to portray it as a second chance romance. You get the feeling you are going to be starting up when the characters meet up again and Luca is trying to win his love back. But 60% of the book is about when they first meet, the back story. 2. When they reconnect, not enough time is spent trying to win her back. Given Luca’s betrayal is fairly catastrophic to her on an emotional level and the events around it basically ruin her life, he needed to do more. 3. He says everything he did in the intervening 5 years was to get her back. So a plan to win back the woman you love involves marriage to another woman. This makes little sense. That might be part of his revenge plan, but that isn’t part of any plan to fix things with someone you love. Let alone assuming someone is still going to be free 5 years later. 4. And this might be the worst part of the book of all, Luca is upset because Demetria doesn’t fall into his plans to get her back. He decides it is taking too long and basically forces her into sex to get her back. This reads nearly like a rape scene and really pissed me off. This isn’t how you get someone back. He is too impatient to bother to seduce her into sex, he just ignores her protests. This scene cost the book 2 stars. Even the fact that the blurb is misleading about where the majority of the story is at is forgiveable because the story is otherwise a strong story. This one section really needs a bit of a rewrite. 5. There is something just a little unsatisfying about the ending with Thomas. It is another weak point.
Demetria Knight was trying to make a good impression by volunteering to make a coffee run for her coworkers. Little did she know, that one decision would put things in motion that would drastically change the direction of her life's plan. Luca Wolff has had some rough times and is looking for a fresh start. He's hoping that his time for change is coming soon, and when meets the beautiful Demetria, he feels like things are finally looking up for him and she could be a big part of it. When these two decide to give romance a try, they run into roadblocks that could turn their lives upside down and inside out literally. Only time will tell, if after the dust settles, will they be able to find their way back to each other and have a second chance at love. The Luxembourg Betrayal was a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Demetria and Luca' story is full of romance sure, but the added touch of intrigue made for an exciting read of major betrayals for both the hero and heroine which made for a very engaging love story. Every time I thought I had this story all figured out, another curve ball was thrown in and I was left thinking, hmm I didn't see that coming. I loved the twists and turns that the story line made in order for the this couple to find their HEA, and believe me they deserved it. This story has romance, mystery, and murder along with lovable characters that makes you want to jump in and help them slay all that stands in the way of them finding their happy. Well done Camilla Stevens.
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

Five years ago , she gave him all she had and he trampled over it.. love, drama ,betrayal . And inner strength to go one when the going gets rough. Luca though he coukd just come back into her life as nothibg happened, but some thing did and she will never be the same again. I totally loved this read. I highly recommend it

This was a good read. Luca is in town on business. He meets Demetria when they literally run into each other. He finds out that she is working at the company he is dealing with. They of course fall in love. Some bad things happen to them but thankfully in the end they get their happy ending. Be warned her family (except her grandma) are terrible people.
Camilla Stevens has done it again! I've been a fan of her writing for a while now and The Luxembourg Betrayal is the latest book in her International Legacies series. If you've read the other International Legacies books then you've met Demetria before. I love the sister circle of beautiful brown girls Ms. Stevens has created as well as the interconnected stories she weaves throughout their lives. When we see her interacting with her sister circle of girlfriends, some of whom have found love, Demetria comes off, at least initially, as a bit prickly and maybe a little bit love-averse, but Camilla Stevens fleshes out the character in this book. There is so much more to Demetria than meets the eye. I also love the way the author turns up the drama and mystery both in the story and between the heroine and the hero. The interaction between Demetria and Luca is spicy, in the best way. This book was so worth the read. Ms. Stevens...thank you!
The heroine of this story of love in a brokerage business has a troubled family life but she is shored up by her sisterhood, the wonderful stars of the other books in this series. They grew up together in the city and scale the heights each in a different way, including true love. All her life Demetria has been a 'fixer' in her dysfunctional family, which includes getting rich with the help of her scholarships to business school. It turns out that the brokerage milieu is full of human sharks all too willing to use her good heart as a stepping stone. But fate brings her in contact with Luca Wolff, whose own upbringing has honed him into a world-class warrior instead of a predator, in ways I won't spoil in this review. Little do they know that the biggest villain is very close indeed and posing as Luca's friend. Other reviewers take issue with how Luca may be too pushy sometimes with Demetria, but the truth of her is that she is far too often denying herself the smallest of comforts, so that even her girlfriends end up having to persuade her to be good to herself. Lots of deep-rooted baggage turns into heavy armor over her heart, that needs to be dissolved by what seem to me to be massive immersions in luxury by the end of the book. Luca knows how to play on that scale, and he does. He's far from average by any measure. Guys like this have to be invented by authors like Camilla, to give real guys an ideal to aspire to. Hey, we can dream. The whole 'billionaire romance' sub-genre is fantasy, but it's in service of optimism so it sells, and it feels so good going down.
Loved, Loved, Loved this book! Luca and Demetria were a really interesting couple. I say interesting because I loved their interactions. I know I like a book when I highlight conversations or descriptions. I did that a lot in this story. Couldn’t put it down. From their first meeting in the coffee shop when he defended her against the guy that bumped her & spilled 4 cups of coffee on her to Luca taking a young Demetria on very special dates. I was so invested in them as a couple. Watching them fall in love was a beautifully written story. I knew the breakup was coming but the how was surprising. Good job Camilla ! Luca fought to win back Demetria’s love. There was no dragged out , hidden truth to be revealed slowly ... when he finally had the opportunity to really talk to her. Can’t tell you how much I appreciated that as a reader. Sometimes the suspense is just not necessary .., just go for the truth ! Received this as an ARC. Highly recommend this book. Camilla Stevens is an awesome writer.

This is a second chance love story between Luca and Demetria and one of my favorites books in this series. In this book we learn about how Luca and Demetria met and what went wrong in their relationship. I like the way the author brought these characters back together again after years apart. This is a well written book with believable characters and a page turning story. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
So happy to read Demetria's book! In this we get to see Demi at an earlier point in life where she falls in love with Luca and unfortunately gets her heart broken, fast forward 5 years and he's done everything in his power to make her his.
I wasn't expecting so much of the book to take place in the past, but it did make a lot of sense and it was nice to see a younger, naive, less jaded Demi. I loved Luca, how strong and dominant he was but also how goofy he could be. There was also a lot of drama in this, I was only expecting the "betrayl", but there was so much more. I think it would have been nice to have some of the drama in the 2nd half of the book explored more as I felt some big revelations were dealt with quite quickly, as well as how things were left with Demi and MAG. Plus I wouldn't have minded the book being longer!
This was another great book by Camilla and this fun group of friends, very happy to see them get their happy endings.

This is another good book in this series and is well written and flows well The only criticism is the scene which is borderline rape there needs to be a warning about that. While the blurb reads as though this is the story of these two getting back together it is actually their entire story from the first meeting
When they first meet Luca Wolff is a trust fund baby about to inherit his wealth while Demetria Knight is a financial analyst serving a internship at one of the top companies in her field. He convinces her that they are meant to be together and she lets her walls down then he makes a decision that only emotionally guts her but destroys her credibility in her professional filed. Noe five years later he is determined she will be his but as he destroyed any chance he has with her.
Demetria is an intern working in the Financial District in New York City when she meets her knight in shining armor at the local Starbucks. Luca is in the midst of trying to repair a life tainted by scandal when he falls in love with Demetria. Unfortunately, due to a series of unforeseen obstacles, their blossoming romance implodes and leaves scars that will take years to recover from.
I have to admit I've been disappointed by the previous books in this series but the author has redeemed herself. There were several twists and turns in the plot that kept me intrigued. Most importantly, I was invested in this couple and wanted to see them get their HEA. Demetria has been briefly mentioned before in the series so it was great to see her as a fully developed character in this book. I enjoyed reading how these characters matured as individuals and as a couple. So far, this is my favorite book in the International Legacies series.
I loved and thoroughly enjoyed Demetria & Lucas's story. I can see why Demetria seemed down on love in Zia and Maya's books and after all, she went through with her family I can see why she felt what Luca did was a deep betrayal. Even though it was done to protect her. However, Luca earned her love back and they deserved to be happy together. Luca had his own share of troubles with his family and the con artist lawyer. As for that God-awful family of hers, they really needed help! The way her mother acted towards her only daughter was just awful and when they took out that loan in her name. That just went beyond the pale. I was too through with them. I gotta say I love this series and eagerly look forward to hearing more from this author.I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I've loved all the books in this series that I've read. I love that they have strong black women as their heroine's. Demitria is a great heroine. You really understand her insecurities and reactions that the events that happen. Luca is an awesome hero. It may have taken him awhile to get his lady but he does it with style. The villian, to me at least, was pretty obvious from the start but the twist at the end was way unexpected. Overall, a great book.

Luca is Demetria's early in life mistake. He let her down badly and she has not gotten over it in five years. She was just starting out in her chosen field of finance when due to Luca she crashed and burned badly. Trust is now an issue for Demetria in her relationships and Luca wants back in. After all these years the Demetria he left behind is now bitter and determined not to repeat past mistakes. Luca determined himself as ever will not take no for an answer. Will Luca break down he walls Demetria has built around her and get his second chance? or will Demetria leave Luca standing in the dust as he did her? I really liked this book. I loved Luca.

This is Demetria, from Her Russian Defender and The Nordic Lighting, story. I was dreaming of her story after reading Her Russian Defender and now here it is. We get to find out what happened to Demetria, shining a light what made her who she is in the previous books. I have to say I love it melodrama and all. A page-turning good time that I devoured in one day. With the right amount of heat and sweet. A betrayal story were you're actually rooting for the couple to get back together, instead of scratching your head wondering what the heroine ever saw in the hero.
Received book for free from Hidden Gems for a review
We finally find out what makes Demetria tick. Her family life was atrocious but she managed to find a ray of sunshine and love with Luca. Then comes the ultimate betrayal on his part or so she thinks. It isn't until five years later that she finds the truth and a path towards her forever love.
This book had a lot of twists and turns some very unexpected. It's worth reading especially if your interested in what Demetria is the way she is.

Elaborate 5 stars - This is Demetria’s story. Luca and Demetria met five years ago and fell in love but circumstances tore them apart. Demetria was betrayed and hurt. But Luca’s story started when something happened when he was fifteen and is still affecting his life. Wow! There are a lot of twists and turns in this book. Sex was naughty and steamy. It has an elaborate plot of betrayal and deception. Finally, we get to learn why Demetria is such a serious person. Hard to put down! [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
I liked Dem and Lucca’s story. Liked how we spent time on the relationship when they first got together, it had to provide the history. Wish more details were provided of what Luca did while he was rebuilding. Revenge is a B. Didn’t like how he got her to forgive him, felt like those romances from the past. Will be ready for the next.
This book was amazing. If you have read the previous books in this series then you have meet Demetria. She is adverse to relationships and love. This books tells the story of why she feels this way. The man who made Demetria the cynic she is today? Luca Wolff. I dont want to go into to many details because it will spoil the book but both of these characters are strong willed and it makes for a great read. Camilla has yet to disappoint me.

Demetria and Luca's story was very satisfying. Based on Demi's appearances in previous books I knew that her HEA would be fraught what drama. She was so bitter and hard, I knew there was a story there. I really enjoyed the time the author took to give us more than just a quick glance into their history. Luca was sweet and relatable, and Demi was a shy people pleaser. We do see why she is the way she is. Her family was dysfunctional, to say the least. The present day stuff was fun and steamy. After seeing Maya and Zia find their love, I am so happy that Demi FINALLY got the love she deserved.

The Luxembourg Betrayal is the latest installment of the International Legacies Romance books. I have to say I have enjoyed each one I have read so far but this one is now my favourite. I liked Luca and Demetria as a couple and I liked how relentless he was when he tried to win her heart, especially in the beginning. I also liked how strong and focused Demetria was as well. This book had everything. A timeless romance, deep betrayal, suspense and even humour. I loved it.

Part of the An International Legacies Romance series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Luca Wolff and Demetria Knight meet when a man sends the coffee she is carrying down the front of her clothing and he comes to her aid. That was five years ago and then she lost touch with him, now he is back and wants a second chance. They will have so much to go through.I enjoyed reading this story. I received a copy of this book through Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing.
A perfect escape for the day! A great read filled with a little bit of sweet, a little bit sassy and whole lot of sexy! Just what you would expect from a Camilla Stevens book. A great hockey romance that I absolutely enjoyed reading and can’t wait to see what she writes next. Go grab your copy today. Happy reading!!
I think this is my favourite read by this author. It was well balanced and plotted. It didn’t read too fast or slow, just right and kept my attention throughout. This story is about Demetria and Luca. I wanted to know more about Luca’s background though. Both are 2 completely different people but their chemistry was sizzling and they seemed to bring out the best in each other, a good match. This goes back to the saying: “if you love someone, set them free, if they come back, it was meant to be.” .
Another wonderful and enjoyable addition to the international legacy romance series! Demetria and Luca character has great chemistry and they sizzle in and out of the bedroom. Their journey has a lot of drama, suspense, and mystery that will keep you entertained from start to finish. This book was a definite must read and I can’t wait for the next story in this series that doesn’t disappoint.
I don’t know what this author was thinking? So there’s main characters are “in love” and the male MC (I refuse to call him a hero) is blackmailed into ending it with her. His only solution was do this the. to earn ten million dollars (ok so far it’s not so bad) to be able to marry an heiress (and there is the cluster$&$&)!!!! Supposedly to come back and win back the female mc... How is this romantic. He marries another woman with the sole intent to take her money? What kind of a person does that? And what’s worse is that our female mc doesn’t ask for any details. Yes there was a time when she read something speculating that it was a sham, but the media always says things like that and it’s never confirmed. He does say that for him it was a marriage of convenience, but that is all, no details. And he didn’t specify that it was “in name only” or that she was in on it. Not once does she ask what that entails or how the other woman felt about that. The male mc doesn’t volunteer it, so it in his internal monologue either. He tells the female mc that he did it for her, insert enroll, like that makes it ok? What makes the female mc equally horrid is that once she decides she’s over being mad at him, she doesn’t question him about details or express disgust at how he made his money. They both end up living off of the ex wife’s money. Again I’m forced to ask, what kind of a woman does that, or would want a man who did that. Why did the author think this is ok or would make a romantic story? The whole thing is just gross... She could have written the exact same story only had him have actually specified that he had entered into a contract with this woman who needed free from a trust stipulation where they had a contract to trade his service for money and connections from her or something to that extent. But no, from what this author wrote, he simply married a woman with a huge trust, simply for her money to get what and where he wanted. Had the author stated that they had some kind of agreement or at least stated that he had never slept with the wife (that would have made it obvious that the wife was in on it) I could have respected the characters and probably enjoyed the story.
