Short, daily readings each with a bible verse, a life applicable challenge and a short prayer. This devotional has helped me to be more aware of how to love and communicate with my husband and family and how I need to keep my heart and actions in accordance with how God wants me to act and react in relationships. I am glad I read this as my 2017 daily devotional.

This book has 5-star content and a 1-star title. The publisher audaciously titles this a devotional, but throwing a verse on a page does not make a writing a devotional any more than a preacher reading a few verses makes his proceeding speech a sermon.

Misnomer aside, this book is chock full of tips, tidbits, advice, and encouragement to aid couples in the growth of their relationship. It is amazing how many times Mr. Chapman packed in multiple challenges and thought-provoking insights into his one minute reflections.

The book is a 5-star book: an excellent read, very practical, and very worth the time to read it. Just don't see it as a devotional.

Very good book and easy to read.
I do recommend it to couples, it gives you an insight of how a marriage should be and clears any doubts or confusions.
The book repeats itself in many chapters but I didn't mind it.
It's a good building block as there are many topics for couples to discuss and make up their minds upon.
It's a good reference to couples.

Some of this devotional really spoke to us. Some of it missed the mark. More than anything, the daily habit of sitting together and spending the time to do a devotional was a wonderful thing. A reminder to focus on your partner’s love language is helpful, especially if you don’t naturally have the same language.

I read the author's The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate several years ago, and then downloaded this yearly devotional to my Kindle. It was a good daily reminder of some of they key points in the book and good inspiration to do the little things to work on our marriage every day.

This is a nice way to start your New Year! 365 little daily messages and bible verses designed to inspire you and help you be more "in tune" with your spouse. The inscriptions are short and sweet so it would be easy to read on your computer, iphone, itouch or kindle.

Gary Chapman’s “Love Language Minute Devotional” was awesome! My husband and I liked it so much we read the book three years in a row. As a Christ Follower this devotional aided me into becoming more of a partner with my husband, and less confrontational. We learned about our, and each other’s love language; I became armed to aid my spouse through life. There is lots of insightful topics covered and oftentimes led to great discussions, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Many topics were carried over for several nights or revisited again later in the year, which gave us time to contemplate. I especially liked Gary’s “Five Levels of Communication”. It’s a difficult fast paced world, but carving out time for this couples devotional was well worth the time and effort!

I don't know if I'd really call this book a devotional, at least not in the traditional sense. It's more accurate to say it's 1-year book to help strengthen marriage from a Christian point of view and with some Bible verses. My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and I'm not saying we don't have problems sometimes still—there were a handful of entries that did lead to further discussion between us—but the book seemed more geared to A) younger couples / couples with younger kids, B) couples of any age that haven't been married long, or C) couples at any point in their marriage who are struggling a lot and might really need to see a marriage counselor. Even for those people, I don't know how useful the book would really be.

This book serves as a day to day Christian marriage devotional that is centered around the 5 love languages. While their is definitely good advice presented in this book, I was hopping for information that I could apply to MY marriage. I ended up realizing that instead of being upset that most of the marriages described did NOT even remotely describe Jon and I’s marriage, that Jon and I should be so thankful for that! Our jaws dropped at stories of couples that yelled, insulted, or were intentionally cruel. I was reminded of the importance of loving Jon with HIS love language and not just speaking mine to him. Great book for couples who argue regularly, thankfully though that’s not us.

My wife and I started this a few years ago. It was hard to find a good time to do it due to our schedules-she is an RN and has tough hours. So the last part of it was very sporadic.

I think it is important for a husband and wife to do a devotional together and to pray together. This is an easy way to get you into that habit.

You will also find that often you aren't speaking the same love language. This helps determine what that is and helps you to express your love to your wife

This devotional was so good and a must have for married couples! My husband and I have been married for 16 years and sometimes you just fall into unhealthy patterns. This devotional brought us closer together and showed us the places where we've been lackadaisical in our marriage and serving one another in humility and love. This is one I will read through at least every 3 years to stay connected to my husband! A great gift for young couples getting married as well!

Perhaps you will get more out of this than I did, but I found it to be relatively shallow and I could not easily find action steps to take from each devotion. It also rarely sparked any deeper discussion between myself and my wife.

I’d recommend passing on this if you’re looking for a couples devotional.

This was a great resource. Each devotion was purposeful! Gary Chapman really helps you to understand relationships both from a Christian and World view. I love it! A just weight is God's delight! Praise God!

Daily Guide to Marriage

This is an outstanding book for a daily reflection on being married, from biblical prospective. If possible would recommend as a daily reading with a spouse.

Some of the topics seemed a bit personal from the authors perspective, making it hard for the reader to apply or uncomfortable. Overall, it was helpful and did help keep my husband and I connected more. I would recommend this book to other couples.
