Mr Kazarian, Alien Librarian is a elementary/middle grade mix of science non-fiction and science fiction adventure. 4 kids - Walden, TJ, Shea, and Dani - discover that their elementary school librarian is an alien from Pflittlehorn! Very little in terms of characterization or plot, but is packed with facts about planets - notably gas giants and ice giants. The diversity is nice here - Walden has a cochlear implant, TJ has two moms, and Dani is black. The illustrations are colorful and attention-grabbing for a young audience. There is a lot of text for emerging readers, and some words may be too big to comprehend. There is a glossary at the back as well as discussion questions that teachers could use during lessons.

4 students are assigned a project on gas giants and get some help from their school librarian. The low rating is for the story, not too much there, it's been done before, and it's just fact after fact for the bulk of the book. However, since this is a combination of fiction and non-fiction, if treated strictly as a resource for information on gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn) and ice giants (Uranus, Neptune), then it's not a bad choice.

I like this book because it has a lot of facts like that Pluto is not a planet and a lot more. I like that it has amazing pictures and details. In my opinion comic books really easy to read so it is good in educational purpose. The thing I don’t like about this book - it is so short!
