Inspired by the author's rags-to-riches business story, this book explains how to combine passion with innovation to start a business.
Practical tools, expert advice and innovative ideas to help you create a successful business that reflects your values, supports your lifestyle and creates real fulfilment.
In 2014, in her farmhouse kitchen in Wales, Shann Nix Jones started to manufacture a relatively unknown probiotic goat's milk called kefir. It was a powerful healing remedy that cured her son's eczema and even saved her husband from a life-threatening MRSA infection. Today, the business she started on her kitchen table has 300,000 customers and an annual turnover of £4.5 million.
In this book, Shann shares the innovative methods that helped her turn her passion into a sustainable business. Following these steps, you'll learn how
Shann believes that anyone can start a business following her 13 steps, and that doing so can bring you closer to creating a life in which you are the CEO of your business and your destiny.
My recent self employment idea was downgraded to personal project then propped up as a potential future side-hustle. I started with the easiest book I could find and this memoir twist was it.
It was a very soft, female-oriented, confidence boosting, spiritual twirls, uplifts, ideas, encouragement, etc. I wouldn't peg it as a how-to guide but it did successfully get me to look differently at the negative beliefs I hold around this endeavour and myself in general. Thanks for that.
Skimmed last three chapters on menses and moons. That definitely isn't info I need on such ideas right now
The book is more of a “if you can believe it, you can achieve it” type of book rather than advice on a start up business. No useful advice whatsoever. Save yourself some precious time and look elsewhere.
I loved this book so much! I checked it out at the library but it's so good I would purchase it and reread it all over again. I want my own copy!!
I learned so many good, valuable, random things from this book which were not limited to just starting a business, but also how to get the life you want, how to spend time on things you want to achieve, how to be organized, how to believe in yourself, how to dream big... and more.
This book was inspiring, uplifting and spiritual in the exact kind of way I like! It's rare for me to find that in a book. The author talks about things like trusting the universe and surrendering (and what the outcome was for her) and I found that very fascinating.
In terms of the business advice, this is quite an unconventional book. If you want info about SWOT, marketing, business structure, finance, funding, insurance, digital presence and making a traditional business plan, you will NOT find it in this book. This book tells you about creating a heart-led business, having strong morals and values and learning to let go and let the universe guide you. The author tells stories of problem-solving, adapting and finding solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems.
There is so much wisdom in here I cannot even summarize it all here! I would really, really recommend you pick up a copy for yourself. This book looks so unassuming and random, but it was really a gem. One of the best books I read this year - for sure!
There are some valuable nuggets I remember from this book months later. I like the author's approach to life, and you can feel her good spirit throughout the book, trying to help the reader and improve their life.
I normally reveal more in my reviews, but I think this is a book you have to read in its whole form to get the most benefit/inspiration from, so I'll be getting my own copy to highlight/take detailed notes on!
Her advice was also unique in some ways and isn't repeated fully in either self-help or business books (at least that I've seen/heard of/read). A book gets points from me for uniqueness! Thank you Mom for finding this book and recommending it to me :)

I would recommend this book to people who want to be inspired, spend their time in a way that's fulfilling to them, and people who want to start things in general (doesn't have to be a business).
I really enjoyed this book, honest advice and a clear strategy to get started. great for small entrepreneurs or someone looking for a supportive kick to get them started.
This was better than expected. The first half of the book was engrossing. The second half was slow. I haven't attempted any of the prompts yet. I will do the 5 circles exercise and list of dream exercise first as these sound like they will help me most.
Inspiring book with many good tips in how to think to grow your business. Just not what I expected from the title of the book. I will keep the tips with me. New way of thinking businesses, and I like that.
