What do you do when the truth destroys you and only revenge can set you free? She is used to saving others. Now she needs to save herself. Daniella Dean is happy dedicating her life to the at-risk teens in her Florida classroom. Lately, they’ve become a population she knows better than herself. But a student named Michael has her second-guessing what she’s always known and done. He needs her help, and she and her family welcome him into their homes. When her mentally ill brother befriends Michael, Daniella believes only good could come from it. But she is horribly wrong. Suddenly, she stands accused of the most inconceivable crime. With no allies and no recourse, she spirals down a dangerous path, her future and her sanity in jeopardy. When mysterious notes appear that bring new revelations to the surface, it begs the question of whether blood is always thicker than water. There’s no way she can protect Michael like she promised—or is there? The truth hasn’t worked. What if revenge will? Can she unravel a tangled web of cruel lies, bitter deceit, and devastating betrayal to reclaim her life?

This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions that I truly was unprepared for. Being a mother and having the author write the emotions out hit every nerve in my body. The fact that events that happened in this book can actually happen is something that isn’t talked about enough.

A teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. The whole school is against her and the student. Rumors start spiraling, are they true? And if so how far will some go to cover it up?

My eight words are - DIFFICULTY BELIEVING THIS IS A DEBUT PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER!

I was gripped from the start and thoroughly enjoyed the whole book. It has all the attributes I love - suspense, intrigue, believable characters, and good pace.
I really like books that refer to other books or quotes - those included show the author is well read.
As I read I thought the details went beyond being well researched - the awareness of the psychological and social impact of events, diagnosis much deeper than someone who had investigated....much more real and clearly understood....as acknowledged by Monique De La Uz at the end of the book.
It really was diificult to believe that this is a debut novel being so well structured and written.
I will definitely recommend, and look forward to other books - I do hope there are more.

Insightful book that makes you think about the choices and judgements we make and how they affect others. The writing style is one I can easily read and enjoy.

Thank you Monique De La Uz for gifting us a copy of your book Eight Words!
Gosh what a unique and moving story. ❤️Monique is a talented author, I never felt like I was reading a book, I felt like I was learning about someone’s story. There were many aspects to this book that were close to my heart. There aren’t a lot of books about adoptions, and being adopted myself, I appreciated the main character Ms. Dean for her open and nurturing ways. Mental illness is discussed throughout this book and it’s something that I have always struggled to comprehend.
Eight Words really helped me to understand more about bipolar and someone’s perspective that is living and struggling with it.
Alyssa said she experienced every single emotion possible, while reading this book.
We are so lucky to have this opportunity to read incredible books like this, please go check this one out!

I LOVE this book! It was a quick read and I found the main character to be very relatable. It was refreshing to read a book that not only shows the effects mental illness has on the person suffering, but also on those around them. I found myself tearing up at times. Beautifully written.

This was really an interesting book! Definitely left me wanting to know what happens to the characters after the book ended. Touches on mental illness and how it effects family dynamics as well.

This book was beyond fabulous. If I had this as an actual paperback, I would have finished it in a few days. What a page-turner!! But at the same time, I was hesitant to turn the page. When would Daniella catch a break? My heart was hurting for her. So many unfortunate turn of events but she never gave up. Fighting for her son and her family. This author had me drawn in so deep, I actually felt like I was in the room with Daniella. Pacing the living room...waiting, wondering. I loved this book and was sad to finish it but happy at the same time.

This book kept me captivated from the first page to the last. I was shocked at the horrific acts that Ms. Dean was accused of by someone very close to her. Now she must find a way to clear her good name and prove the accusations are false. She will have to overcome the damage and anguish caused to her life and her reputation. Can she find a way to prove her innocence, repair her good reputation and move forward. Can she find the happiness she had known before this nightmare.

This book is written so realistically that I felt the anguish Ms. Dean was going through. Read Eight Words, you will not be able to put it down.
