Previously released in the Alphas Confess All anthology with the name In From the Cold. Winter might be cold, but this threesome is heating up … Jessica Phillips never imagined that Gideon Michaels would be at the seminar she was attending in the snowy Aspen wilderness. Gideon broke her heart six months before but introduced her to a lifestyle that calls to her. She’s curious, so she’s attending a conference to teach her more. Unfortunately, Gideon is teaching the classes, and he doesn’t want her anywhere near them. Reid Watkins is Jessica’s best friend and, unknown to her, Gideon’s longtime lover. He’s always thought Jessica was the woman to complete the threesome they’ve wanted forever, but Gideon’s been hurt before. Can three friends become lovers in a winter wonderland?
A lifetime devotee to the written word, Sophie published her first novel this year. Prior to becoming a novelist, she worked in theater and comic books. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and three precocious children, who wonder when mom is going to write a book they will be allowed to read. Her answer: probably never. Sophie believes in happy endings for everyone, no matter how extreme the story. Her stories may feature some of the fringe elements of sexuality, but at heart they are always about love.
This was a pretty good read from an author that I love reading. Jessica Phillips never imagined that Gideon Michaels would be at the seminar she was attending in the snowy Aspen wilderness. Gideon broke her heart six months before but introduced her to the BDSM lifestyle. Reid Watkins has been her best friend he is also Hudson's long-term lover and has plans to get them all together. This was a pretty good short hot read. Jessica thinks that she wasn't good enough for Gideon she also thinks that Reid is gay. Gideon has been hiding who he is because of his family marry the right woman until she caught him with Reid his family disowned him because of it. Jessica is confused she is still in love with Gideon but she loves Reid also. I loved that Gideon finally realized what he had. I wished this book was longer. I love reading this author whenever I am in a book slump she is my go to author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.
Reid has spent three years trying to figure out a way to get his best friend Jessica, and his long term lover Gideon, to join him in a permanent menage relationship. He knows they're all attracted to each other but Gideon is being stubborn and they're both nervous about introducing Jessica to the BDSM lifestyle in case she walks away from them forever. Then Gideon manages to mess things up completely and ends up breaking Jessica's heart. Luckily for Reid he has plans to bring them back together and this time he's not backing down until he gets exactly what his heart desires.
I always love Lexi Blake's romances, especially her menage stories. She writes such great characters and makes it very easy to fall in love with them. Snowed In is a novella so it's a little shorter than most of her books but because the characters have so much history their romance never felt rushed. I enjoyed seeing all three of them figuring out what they want and need from their relationship and finding a way to make things work.
While this isn't part of the Nights in Bliss or Texas Sirens series if you enjoy those books you'll be sure to enjoy this one too. I half wonder whether we'll see these characters pop up again as side characters in the Masters and Mercenaries books, I love the way all of Lexi's books seem to link together even if it's only loosely.
Snowed In is a novella previously published in the Alphas Confess All anthology with the name In From the Cold by Lexi Blake, so don't be surprised if the events of the book sound familiar to you. I had read the story when the anthology was first published and I re-read it now and I have to say that I enjoyed it both times. I can't be sure if it was due to Lexi Blake or the fact that the anthology was published about 6 months ago, but I remembered 80% of the story. What I know that's 100% due to Lexi Blake is that even knowing what was going to happen, I found myself liking the novella.
There is some angst and I always love angst, which made me enjoy the novella even more. I would have liked a little more groveling on Gideon's part because he wronged both Jessica and Reid, but this is a novella and I will let it go. All that matters is that the stubborn man admitted his feelings and got his loves back. I liked the BDSM elements the book had and especially the ropes. I would recommend Snowed in.
That tale as old as time when you’re snowed in at the dom/sub conference with your former boss and his law partner that he’s secretly been fucking and they are plotting to make you their third
5 Star Review Snowed In by Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak
I love Ms.Oak (Lexi Blake’s) style of writing and I was riveted from start to finish to Snowed In. Having been introduced into the lifestyle by Gideon Michaels, the man who broker her heart, Jessica Phillips wants to learn more so decides to attend a seminar in Colorado. Unfortunately she has no idea that Gideon is the one leading it.
This is a MMF story about Jessica, Gideon and Jessica’s best friend, Reid Watkins. Complications abound as Gideon and Reid have also been lovers for a long time. Reid is convinced that Jessica is the woman who is destined to join them in a permanent menage.
Is friendship a strong enough foundation to build their relationship into a successful menage? Or will the pain and hurts of the past block them from moving forward?
Although this is a short novella, such is the strength of the writing, you cannot help but be drawn in to the story Ms. Blake weaves.
You could feel the emotions as all three seek to find their balance and position within their relationship. This may be short but it is intense as well as steamy. I could happily have read a full length story about this trio and was disappointed when I finished.
A Dom, a sub and a switch, Snowed In has it all. I love how Ms. Blake blends the heat and humour, it makes for a hot and entertaining read. This is a little gem that I devoured in one go.
There’s just something about Lexi Blake’s alter ego Sophie Oak that makes me sigh and Snowed in was no different. I still love the characters. The little village (or is it mini city?), The habitants. They just call out to me in so many ways. This story was beautiful, real and enjoyable. There’s a reason why these books are some of my favourites and why they’ll remain my go to books for just every type of occasion. This is another win in my books for this author and I loom for2Rd to reading more from her very very soon.
Short sweet, sensual, and lust filled. It's a novella..quick read. Welcome to Gideon, Reid, and Jessica. Jessica had been curious. And then Gideon and her had a moment. She trusted Gideon's best friend. She was going to learn about the lifestyle and stop thinking about him. Reid wanted them both. His family...so he brought her to Gideon's BDSM conference. She knew Gideon was holding back something...but she didn't realize it was the fact that Reid was his lover. This book is hot as hell. Enjoy my loves.
I purchased this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily.
This book is a standalone. It may have triggers for some. M/M, MMF, light bondage, spanking
**spoilers** Gideon, good looking rich lawyer. Bi, but pretending he's straight. Reid, good looking rich lawyer. Bi, but pretending he's gay and not in love with his best friend or Jessica. Jessica, sweet lady in love with her bosses.
Jessica is in love with both men. When Gideons engagement is called off, she offers herself up on a platter to him. The next morning Gideon lies and says he's not interested in her and she could not be a real sub for him.
Jessica quits her job but she wants to explore her desire as a sub. Reid, who she remained friends with, offers to help, while keeping the secret he loves her and Gideon.
At a bdsm retreat, Jessica hopes to meet a Dom she can be with. Instead, Reid arranges for Gideon, Jessica and himself to be together. Another misunderstanding but eventually a HEA is had by all.
I love all of this authors TEXAS Siren series, Lost in Bliss series and her Masters of Menage series with Shayla Black.
This story was good, had all the right parts, it just felt to quick? I liked all the characters. It almost felt like the beginning was a summary and the real story didn't begin until 20% in for me and then the entire story finishes at 90%.
The strange thing about this book is that I happened to read it/see it in two separate locations in the same week. I was browsing through an old anthology series, "Alphas Confess All" because I saw that there were two authors that I liked contributing stories - one from Lexi Blake and one from Shayla Black. I was interested and read them both. That evening, I saw that Lexi Blake had released a new/old book called "Snowed In" and got that as well. Imagine my surprise when after reading "In from the Cold", and deciding to start "Snowed In" I realized that this was a rereleased version of the same story. Yay me :)
Anyway, this was an novella length book about two men and one runaway possible sub. The premise reminded me of a couple of the situations in the Texas Sirens series, written under the pen name Sophie Oak - specifically the lead off book, "Small Town Siren" that had Jack Barnes, Sam Fleetwood and Abby Moore. There were differences of course and the plot went in its own direction, but we were dealing with a Dom, A Switch and an Unsuspecting and Innocent Sub. Needless to say, since I really loved the Sirens series, it was easy to like this short story. Because it was not a novel length book, everything happened quickly and the opportunity to completely develop the characters didn't really have the time available, but the outline was definitely there. I would LOVE to read more about this new trio in another book if she ever has the time to write it.
The Details: - 18+ - Nights in Bliss series novella - Menage - BDSM themes
That feeling you get when so many emotions are running through you that you can feel your heart in your throat. That's the feeling that I had while I was reading this novella by one of my favourite authors. Honestly whilst I was reading the story it felt as though the story was much longer than it actually was. This short novella is written so incredibly well with fully developed characters set in a familiar world to readers of the series and packed full of emotion. It was delightful read and I know it's one that I'll definitely be re-reading in the future.
I have only one point to criticize: This was way too short! Not because something had been missing from the story or plot or character development, but because I needed more! I needed more for my Lexi Blake fix than this story was able to give me :D I had just started and then Poof! it was over. Nevertheless this book was awesome! I love Lexi's menage books and even more so when the switch is as strong as Reid was in here. In fact, I loved all of the characters and had to laugh out loud more than once when they were in deep sh*t, because they thought they knew better. I'm always astonished how great Lexi Blake manages to let her character develop even in her novellas. They managed to overcome their fears and anger and let go of their pain to be the best possible person they could be and to have a future together. All in all I would recommend this book for every reader who liks Lexi's books or hasn't heard about her. It's a great entry in her world, even though it's a bit short.
Thank goodness for a snow storm in the Colorado mountains. Jessica Phillips got a taste of a different lifestyle after spending one very memorable night with Gideon Michaels, one of her bosses. Unfortunately Gideon had received devastating news that day and overreacted with Jessica telling her she wasn't his type. This led to Jessica resigning her job with Gideon and Reid Watkins' law firm. Now she is at a week-long conference invited by her other former boss Reid Watkins. When Jessica left her job at Gideon and Reid's law firm Reid kept in touch with her. The three of them love each other. They just need to work things out and become the threesome they are meant to be. Reid is determined that this gathering he and Gideon organized is where their Happily Ever After will begin.
I totally enjoyed this story. The characters are very likeable. The storyline moves smoothly and kept my attention. The sex scenes are hot! I loved the HEA for Jessica, Gideon and Reid.
Reid and Gideon are lawyers and hired Jessica three years ago as their secretary. Over time Jessica has fell in love with both of them, but she has to get that silly idea out of her head. As Reid is homosexual and Gideon has been engaged for the last couple of years. But things are not what they seem.. Gideon and Reid have been in a relationship for many many years, and they are both Bi and have shared many woman together. Gideon's relationship with his fiance is all fake, as he was just trying to make his family happy and further his career. And they have both wanted Jessica since the day they hired her. As the three of them get "Snowed In" at a BSDM seminar run by Gideon and Reid, the threesome relationship explodes! HOT HOT HOT! Great read Lexi!!!
Snowed in a stand in this short book you meet the characters Gideon ,Jessica, Reid , a lovely tale of loss love and true kindness and romance. The hardship of knowing not everyone agrees with your Choices and lifestyle and the rules and regulations that have to be followed to be able to fit in society. Gideon and Reid are excellent lawyers and have a thriving business and hopes and dreams don't necessarily fit the way society wants too. But fighting for love and trust and romance they have a beautiful romance with Jessica. Highly recommended reading loved the characters
I haven't read anything by Lexi Blake that I haven't loved! Truth! And this book is no exception. I read it in one sitting (I read fast), and gobbled up the story. It is so well written. I can imagine the characters perfectly. (Even if Gideon appears to look a lot like Ian Taggert....) I was completely lost in the storyline. I hated when it was done! I always wish, with each Lexi book, that the story was real life, and I lived there. Fantastic book! Thank you, Lexi Blake!
There are few things better than a Lexi Blake menáge. They sizzle. They titillate. They captivate. Great characters in a steamy romance. It doesn't get much better!
Reid has been plotting for three years to finally have a relationship with the two people he loves, Gideon and Jessica. Except the two of them keep mucking up his plans. Things are about to go off the rails again because of a misunderstanding when Gideon takes charge. This threesome finally get their HEA.
No plot spoilers No potential triggers There are no grammatical or editorial errors. It's a novella written in Ms Blake's inimitable style, the characters are well crafted and believable and even if the plotline is a little fluffy it's enough to draw you in and keep you turning the pages. There are some sex scenes including MMF and some swearing. It's a perfect entertainment for a rainy afternoon
Goddess, I love a good MMF, and Lexi delivers it so beautifully here! An office attraction, and a years long secret affair throws everyone out of sorts. 6 months later, they are trying to work things out, but hurt feelings and lingering pain hold things back. When Gideon Dom’s up, Reid and Jessica don’t stand a chance!
A novella with insight into the d/s areas of a trupple fledgling relationship. Will old hurts get in the way, or together are the three of them strong and unbreakable? You'll have to read it to find out! Only negative was the length, but I'm greedy and always want no need more
Misunderstandings abound in this short story. Gideon messes up with Jessica big time which makes her run. Reid is upset but keeps in touch with her. When both guys finally come clean about what they want with her, will she run again or fight like she should have done the first time. This is one smoking hot read!
This is a stand alone book and it was just what I like to read.
I think my favorite is when there are two guys who are really into each other and they bring in a girl to complete their trio. The kink scenes were hot and steamy. The author knows how to write. Her characters are believable and people I want as friends or to be in a relationship with.
Another great read. Wanted more. Love Reid, Gideon and Jessica. Love reading these amazing characters. Always written with hot and sexy scenes but with a lot of respect for these characters.
‘Snowed In,’ was a beautiful and incredibly sexy read! The characters were fascinating and the storyline was captivating. I swear I couldn’t put it down. Jessica, Reid, & Gideon were wonderfully paired. I loved it!
Snowed in is a great novella from Lexi Blake. I loved reading these characters. Usually novellas keep me wishing there was more to the story and rushed, this is one that doesn’t feel that way at all. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have read all of her series. It is odd because usually I tend to go for a certain class of books but Lexi Blake is such an excellent writer I have read everything; and will continue to. Always a pleasure.
Jessica has loved her 2 bosses from afar for 3 years...... But Gideon and Reid are hiding secrets from their assistant, and she ends up walking away!! Can Reid repair the damage that Gideon has caused, or will their love be lost forever? Wonderful storyline with great characters and loved the HEA.
