Leanne Banks was born on 14 May 1959 in Roanoke, Virginia, USA. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology, which she claims she can only use on fictional characters. When her first book was published in 1991, she used the money from her advance to take her family to Disney World.

Leanne is known for telling a story with strong emotion, characters with whom everyone can relate, a kick of hot sensuality, and a feel-good ending that lingers. She believes in creating stories for her readers that will allow them to escape into a place filled fun, emotion and sensuality. She believes that she has the best readers in the world because they understand that love is the greatest miracle of all.

Leanne is the recipient of Romantic Times Magazine's career-achievement awards in Series Sensuality and Love and Laughter, and her books have been recognized by the Award of Excellence Contest, the Romance Writers of America RITA Award contest and the National Readers' Choice Awards. She is grateful for awards and reviews and was particularly moved by a letter from a reader remarking that Leanne's book got her through a chemotherapy session. The reader's letter inspired a favorite turn of phrase: Never underestimate the power of a romance novel.

Leanne lives in her native Virginia with her husband, two teenage children and a Pomeranian. She also has a little condo in South Carolina where she writes in the off-season. She loves music, chocolate, quotes, and new adventures.

Oczywiście go dokonuje, bo jest zajebista, a w międzyczasie książę się w niej zakochuje (nawet jeśli rozmawiali ze sobą jakieś trzy razy) i wspaniałomyślnie proponuje jej, żeby została jego kochanką (Benedict Bridgerton, is that you?).

Doing the forbidden. Nothing's more fun. Right?

I don't mean that in the nasty nasty way. Only that Prince Michel knew he had no business having a relationship with someone his advisers had not chosen for him. But for the first time in his life, he just wanted to be with someone for himself. And Maggie was that someone--and she happened to be the first person who wanted to prioritize Michel's happiness. Although that may be so, she never assumed that Michel would want to have her forever in his life seeing as she was a commoner.

And reading about Michel's efforts to keep her with him just melted this royal watcher's heart. Sigh. The best one was his speech to his mother, the Queen, in a bid to let her see why Maggie was the perfect woman for Marceau's future king.

"She is argumentative but I've never met a woman deliver a more sincere apology than Maggie. She's impatient with protocol because she's impatient with anything that interferes with my happiness. She believes I deserve to be happy. She doesn't love me because I'm royalty. She loves me in spite of the fact that I'm a royalty. She loves Michel. She makes my worst day better. She takes the grind out of ruling. I'm a better person because of her."

This was great fun, even as a second read after 5 years!

Quirky heroine, unorthodox, but with her heart at the right place. Brave, outspoken, sexy and simple!
Reticent hero, prince in waiting, saddled with responsibilities. A dyslexic son too.

So how to they meet? Fairly obvious plot. She comes into royal town to teach the kid of course. She is a special needs teacher. Though the story moves on predictable lines, there is an inherent simplicity and fun element in the plot. Both are tough to achieve in a romantic story.

The heroine and the kiddo have great fun breaking protocol, falling in ponds, picking up frogs, and what not. The hero blusters, growls, stares, then slowly concedes that the crazy American teacher may be unorthodox, but her methods are working. Simply because she genuinely cares.

Watching his son having fun, he decides he needs to have his share of fun with the sexy teacher too. So their romantic trysts begin. Good load of sex scenes, quirky, quite explicit, never crude.

What starts in secrecy, ends with a lovely confession from the prince to the Queen, his mother. He makes an impassioned speech to his mother justifying all the topsy turvy things that happened in the palace during her absence. The way he describes the heroine's effect on him was beautiful, sincere.

One thing I loved above all in the story was that the conflict was realistic, albeit in an imaginary royal world! A stiff necked king falling for a protocol abhorring commoner. No subterfuge, no scheming OW or OM, no misunderstandings, no innocent virgin routine, nothing. Just a pair of leads working out their inherent differences.

Sensible and fun read. Great pick. 5 stars.

A quick but very enjoyable read. Michel is kind of stuffy but by the end of the book when he was finally with Maggie I had grown to love him as a character. The best part was definitely Max learning to act like a normal 7 year-old despite being a royal Prince. Wonderful read.

This was such a great read. I adored both Maggie and Michel. They were perfect for each other. Maggie's background wasn't important to Michel. She might not fit as a princess, but he loves her and her imperfections. I also loved Maggie's relationship with Michel's son Max. They adored each other. And I loved how he blossomed under her care.

The heroine of this story is a teacher that works with dyslexic children and she was brought to teach the heroes son, whom was also a Prince. As she begins her lessons with the young boy, she begins to love him, as well as his arrogant and stubborn father. Just as the hero falls in love with our heroine he is faced with a choice, will he stand up for what he believes in and marry the heroine or will he let her go back to he States.

I loved Maggie (our heroine) she was everything a heroine is suppose to be. She was stubborn, brave, intelligent, caring and loving. I really related to her character and them emotions around her. Although I approved of the hero, he was kind of disinterested and bland, more times than not. C'est la vie!

I really liked this one :) Maggie was sweet and cute, and I like happy lively people. She was quite perfect for Michel and his son, and I loved how she wasnt truly cowered by the whole royal business.

The whole invented country thing didn't drive me as insane as it normally does, so all in all, pretty satisfying read.

My first Leannne Banks book! The Dumonts is a great series. You must start with this book so the other makes sense, especially Book #3, Princess in his Bed

I really liked that both of the main characters had to overcome their personal prejudices. Work for both of them!
