An AI looks into the past, at an event long before Ray Starling set foot in the world of Infinite Dendrogram. The unstoppable Tri-Zenith Dragon emerges from the mountains. It is a bringer of death, wielding a miasma of desolation in its wake. The citizens of Altar can do nothing but watch as doom descends upon them. However... There are three who may be up to the challenge. Three Masters who, if they managed to work as one, could stop the imminent desolation of the land they call home. But with so much glory to gain, what could they stand to lose?
Volume 11 does not feature Ray Starling or his friends at all. Instead, the entire volume deals exclusively with the legendary fight against the Tri-Zenith Dragon: Gloria, which took place several months before the main storyline. Despite the lack of Ray and Nemesis, this was one of the best stories in the series so far, and well-worth the purchase.
Wasn’t expecting a whole volume dedicated to a fight against King Ghido— I mean, Gloria, but damn if it wasn’t exciting even if you know how things will end
Volume 11 was enjoyable to read and the series continues to be exciting. The plot advancement was a little slow and the details of the battles felt redundant at points which is why I have it 4 stars instead of 5.
Volume 11 deals with a specific set of events a few years prior to the main storyline and focuses on a set of the supporting characters.
When I reviewed Volume 10, I stated that I felt like I wouldn't have missed much of substance if I had skipped it.
Volume 11 does a better job of including information that will likely be very important in upcoming events of the plot. But the plot details are subtle and sparse; readers will need to pay attention they don't miss them.
While I was thrown off a bit by this installment, it was a great addition, and clarification to the events mentioned prior to Ray's story. I really enjoyed how the author fleshed out more of Figaro's character, and enjoyed learning about his rival. Any is awesome, and I am continually intrigued by Sech's character. I can't wait for the next book, and am looking forward to the payoff from all these background plots.
