River Five years was a long time to grieve. Her heart still ached with loss every single day. The long lonely nights were the worst, but every morning she faced life and survived another day. The invite to an Iron Dogz MC family braai (barbeque) was unexpected. For the sake of her business she would go, stay for an hour or so then go home. That was the plan at least. What she hadn’t expected to find was a man who set her heart on fire and wrecked her in bed. For her it was the start of something, for him it was a one-and-done. It left her feeling empty, used and angry. A shocking threat to her son has her regretting ever setting foot in the Iron Dogz compound. To safeguard him she’s determined to put it in the past. Where it belongs. But the past has a way of intruding on the present. Turning her well-ordered life into chaos.
Ice The family braai to celebrate DC taking Hawk’s patch was the last place he had expected to find a dream. A blue-eyed golden haired dream that set his senses on fire. One night was all he had with her. One night, before he had to end it and watch her walk out of his life. His past had reared its ugly head and dealing with it would require all his attention. Doing his duty for his club has never been a problem. The Iron Dogz came first. Always. Getting close to his ex to uncover threats against the club was difficult. And secrets long hidden threaten the very future he now knew he desired. Until he receives news that changes everything. It totally guts him but gives him hope. Hope for a future with his Blue. All he had to do now was convince her to give him a chance.
I love River She was so confident in who she is and what she wanted and did not take any 'B....." Ice had his Issues but when he made up his mind he never budged.
It was Great to visit the Mc Compound and the returning characters it has little pockets but one big great story!!!! I Love this
Pretty good read! Overall, I really liked the storyline, but felt like it did meander a bit. Also, despite it being being a standalone, I felt like I was missing information a bit and popped into an ongoing storyline. Liked both MCs, but felt the hero was forgiven way too quickly 🤷🏻♀️.
*** Was gifted with a copy from the Author for my honest review. ***
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This book was absolutely amazing.
Firstly I would recommend that you read the first book in this series (Burning bright in the black), although each book so far is a standalone. There's some scenes in this book that refers back to book 1, it will make better sense if you read the first book.
As with the first book, the plot in Lost and Found in Blue was well thought through and planned, you can see that the author did her homework. It was packed with action, scary bikers that will do anything to protect their family, some very hot scenes and a very cute little boy. I love that Crow made an appearance in this book. Crow is one of my favorites characters in this series and hope there's more of the Crow in the rest of this series.
For me it felt like the book ended with a slight cliffy. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Let me tell you, if you love sexy bikers with hearts of gold, then this series is for you.
René van Dalen once again you surprised me with an amazing read. Thank you for this opportunity to read and review this book.
Convoluted story. One thing after another. Ice seemed to always put River second. In his POV things to take care of before River:
#1 - I have to take care of the club. #2 - I have to take care and finish this “thing” With Emmie aka Emma. *eye roll* #3 - Take care of a possible girl that can possibly be his daughter by Emmie.
Until Ice finds out River is pregnant, she was a second thought. Ice said he was doing everything to protect River, but I did not find Ice protective at all. Ice was weak.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ice thought he had the girl of his dreams only to have everything ripped apart. Seven years later she is back and Ice can't wrap his head around why. It is at this time that he sees River, he knows she is protected by the Sinners Sons MC, she is a widowed Old Lady with a young son. They share a night but Ice knows he needs to deal with his ex before he can delve in fully with River. What he uncovers though puts his club at risk and ultimately River and her son. Can his club protect the woman he is coming to love or will it have a tragic ending?
Another terrific story by this author. Your pulled in right away and you get pissed at Ice for awhile even though you know why he is doing what he is doing. This story is very intricate and I like the fact that other characters came into parts of it from their standpoint. I cant wait to see what is next in this series.
Another amazing addition to this series. I'm loving the storyline, characters, sexy alpha men, hot AF sex scenes, and the twists. This is everything I want out of a kick butt MC gritty read. I highly recommend this series. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
WOW..... That seems like such a small word but it defines this book . It has an amazing story which flows so well you cannot put it down... It is imperative to find out what happens next!!! Put this together with some twists and turns in the plot to equal spellbinding. The Romance is hot and sweet and everything I could ask for.
I've been blown away by this amazing MC series by Author Rene Van Dalen. This is the second book in the Iron Dogs MC series and just like the first book it was another emotional rollercoaster ride.
ICE the VP to president Hawk of the Iron Dogs was as loyal as they come, would lay down his life for his President and his Brothers without a second thought . He lost someone he thought he loved seven years earlier and had never put himself back out there since.
However that all changed in the blink of an eye when River walked into his family BBQ and knocked him right on his A$$ . River was a mechanic and a single mum to a five year old boy and friend to DC who had invited her to the Cook out . Making introductions ICE was done for one look into her big beautiful blue eyes and he knew with every fibre of his being she was his one. But like in life when things seem to be running to smooth and you think the Gods are shining down on you Only to find that a past you thought was over and done with comes back to rear its ugly head and kick you in the nuts but not knowing at the time just how connected River and ICE actually we're. Secrets lies and utter betrayal are exposed and the Iron Dogs MC are only just getting to the tip of the iceberg . I love how Rene incorporates the characters in her books to the story line no matter how big or small , every character has a voice and she brings it to the table every time.
The story flows through easily and you feel the emotional turmoil that the characters are going through on every page. You really want to nut sack the bad guys and rejoice with the good guys and cry with the injustice that hurtles the main characters into fighting for survival . The twists and turns throughout the story certainly keep you on the edge of your seat there's no doubt about that . I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the next book in this awesome series that I've come to love and want more of . I Highly recommend this series to any MC lover of this genre it's another five star read from me.
River is a single mom and a widow. Her husband was murdered before their son was born and now she has a 5 year old raise alone . When she gets invited to a family bbq by DC at the Iron Dogz compound she meets Ice. Ice is the VP of Iron Dogz MC. At first with his ex in the picture I was so mad at him but he redeemed himself and treated River like a queen . I love that the author didn’t demonize the dead spouse . You don’t see that often . Ice did so many things that I love and that I felt Hawk should have done . He’s definitely my favorite of the two . This series is brilliant and I love that the guys don’t cheat after they get a woman .
Think is almost an insta love situation.. and the drama (club drama) continues as well as escalates from book one. You *can* skip book 1, but it makes this story more meaty! Again, I loved the H, and the h was perfect for him! I don’t know how to review without a ton of spoilers, but I actually liked this better than the first. And I enjoyed the first!! (There is some OWD, but it’s club business and not true cheating.. ) This South African MC will keep you engaged from start to end!!
River has had a tragedy in her past and so when she is invited to a club BBQ finding a handsome biker she wanted to be with was a surprise. Ice took one look at River and knew she was the one for him. He knew she could be a target for their enemies so he chased her away. A surprise brings him back to her and he has to protect her from all the hidden enemies out to get both of them. This book has so much suspense and loving family ties you can't turn the pages fast enough. I really enjoyed this book so much. There is some unanswered storylines that I can't wait to see what happens in book 3.
Oh My word, this book is beyond a 5 star rating!! Are you kidding me?!?! This series is the most captivating, Reviting series ever!! If you thought book 1 was out of this world, wait until you read book 2😮😮. My mind is still spinning from this wild ride I was on!! René Van Dalen you are flipping amazing! Gahhh.. I can't believe I have to wait for book 3, darn it! I want it now! PHENOMENAL JOB!
Oh my days. This book, just...I loved the first book by this new author and was gutted when the book ended. I'm glad that Hawk and DC's story continues in this book but doesn't overpower Ice and Rivers story, if anything it just makes it better. Cannot wait for the next by this author.
Lost And Found In Blue is book 2 of the Iron Dogz MC, the story carries on from book 1 and the books should really be read in order.
Ice the VP comes in contact with his first girlfriend Emma, Emma left Ice because of club drama and Ice always wondered 'what if'. Old wounds are opened, but is everything as it seems?
Ice also meets River, a single mom and ex old-lady and widow. New characters and new clubs are introduced which allows the story running through the series to be pushed through this book beautifully!
Again the author nails it with the completely fresh vibe that the series being set in South Africa brings to the table! I just love all the new words and phrases... For the first time ever I'm reading in my head in a SA accent and I am loving it!
This book is much more romantic than the first.... Ice is just lush, even though he initially has a brain fart with his decision making, but that's OK, we need a little bit of angst after all.
We see more appearances from Crow and get to know the other club members and their back stories a bit more.
Stand out in this book - Wrench! I just loved how protective he was and how he was so selfless! Can't wait for him to find a nice girl and settle down... he has a lot to give and he deserves it!
This book I felt really brought the series theme forward and set up the rest of the series really well... this book focused more on the club than book one and is a perfect basis for us to get to know the club members better.
What I liked: 1. River and her son Duncan. 2. The men in the different MCs doing their part to protect River & Duncan. 3. How Ice honors Sparrow throughout the book. 4. The twist and turns of the story. 5. Some humor 6. Ice when he gets his head on straight- goes for what he wants. 7. Ice with Duncan 8. The characters of this story. 9. Dagger 10. Jinx 11. Wrench!! Love this guy and hope we see his own story. 12. River’s loving parents. 13. How River is a good ol’ lady. She gets the danger and doesn’t do stupid stuff to get herself into more trouble. 14. How soft Ice can be with his Blue aka: River. 15. The story did make me cry at times. 16. I loved the Dogz inner circle of club officers. 17. Ice’s parents and siblings. Great family.
What bothered me: 1. Editing issues 2. I felt like Ice is in more club meetings than anything - or running off to do club business. I needed to see him more with River and Duncan. 3. Being left with unanswered questions. (Hopefully those are answered in the next story). 4. Hawk still isn’t doing right by DC so she can feel safe and comfortable in his clubhouse around the whores and his men. It takes Ice to get that ball rolling. 5. I hated the way Ice had to go about getting info from Emma. 6. The terrible words Ice spews at River to keep her safe before he gets his head on straight.
The beginning of the book felt like it was going to be a five star book but then it felt like it lost its way. The H is the VP of an MC who learns that who he thought was the love of his life before she disappeared seven years ago, has returned and wants to revive their relationship. She gives a reason for her leaving that is a stretch to believe. At the same time that she returns, the H meets the h at a club barbecue, they hook up for one night. When the h finds him in the guest bedroom in the morning, she gets the message that this was a one and done hookup. She goes back to her life as a widow, mother of a four year old and mechanic who repairs and restores. The H is given the assignment of using his ex, the OW, to get information about threats to the MC. All the H can think about is the h and he becomes disgusted by the OW. He lashes out at the h when she tries to tell him she is pregnant. He lets her see him and the OW in PDA all to protect the h who has been targeted and is in danger. There is little groveling as the H is honest and open with the h. Lots of club drama that will be continued in subsequent books.
I really enjoy how these books flow together. The reader is never left to wonder what is going going on with a character form an earlier book. Even though the focus moves to a new couple we continue to see the development of other relationships and characters though the books. These stories can be read alone but the reader misses a lot of the background and the flow if they aren't read in order ..
That said (even though this is a review for book 2). Lost and Found in Blue is great book. Continuing to develop on the foundation laid in "Burning Back in the Black.
Ice and River are characters who have both loved and lost. Ice is an extremely loyal member of the Iron Dogz who girl abandoned him after some wild accusations but PLOT TWIST was that the reason and why is she back .... River know's what it means to be an old lady having been one in another MC. How these two get together and make things work makes for a fantastic story..
I definitely recommend this story as a must read! Bring on book 3!
Great to see the previous characters as well as the new mcs.
Cant believe they didn't sort the whores who stabbed dc until almost the end of this book. Or the brothers who didn't protect her. That just doesn't follow mc rules at all. So for me this aspect really spoilt the book cos frankly it was plain stupid.
Ice treated river like a piece of shit and said unnecessary shit to her. He was a total dickhead irrespective if he was trying to protect her he didn't need to call her a slut etc.
The storyline continues on and I'm enjoying that.
Some of the dialogue was a bit to corny and seriously who saves 'very all the time. Ergo I so very love you etc. It got silly. It felt really old fashioned.
Also why aren't these books on ku. Not sure I want to spend over €20 on this series tbh, its not that great, its good. But I dont pay for hood I pay for great. I'll have to look up the next book and see if its worth it.
Lost and Found in the Blue picks up where the last book left off, with the Iron Dogz struggling to bring down the traitors to their club. Ice, the VP, is blindsided, twice; firstly by the return of his ex Emmie; and secondly by the appearance of single mom, River. Club business takes precedence over matters of the heart, but it leaves Ice and River in a dangerous position.
Ice’s story really hit me in the feels. I think it was combination of tragedy and subterfuge, that drove the plot. But I found myself utterly immersed in their fate, and couldn’t help but root for Ice and River’s HEA.
I find myself wishing which brother’s book I’d like next. That tells me this is a series I’m seriously invested in!
Well after being hooked on book one I had high expectations for book two and holy mo she did it again!! Still action packed but River and ice had a more softer storyline which was just what was needed after Hawks stupidity, which carried on in to this book lol I loved how you still had DC and Hawks perspective in this book and seeing DC's split personality or maybe her alter ego. Either way it was fantastic to read. I love it when books interact with characters from other books. This just left me eager for the next book which I will be starting in about 5 minutes because waiting too long to see what happens next isn't an option!!
I think these books are getting better and better as I go on with this series. Lost And Found In Blue is Ice and River's story and it's an emotional, intense story. Ice and River both have things to work through but they're perfect together once they do. Hawk got himself on my bad side with his handling of trouble making club girls. He best do better or he may get a visit from the Crow. DC deserves better than that. I love the ever evolving characters in this series and am looking forward to book 3.
I made a mistake when I started to read this book - I should have known better after reading book 1. I stared it at 5pm just before getting dinner ready for the family - they are truely lucky they got fed! I finished this book early the next morning - like REALLY early 1am or something. I could not put it down. Once again this author has grabbed my attention and sucked me into the Iron Dogz world. I absolutely loved River, she is great for Ice and also DC.
Wow....I just LOVE River and Ice. This series just keeps getting better and better!! This book has it all, love, drama, and so much action!! I absolutely adore River, she is such a beautiful, strong woman who is an amazing mother and partner to Ice. Ice is a strong ALPHALICIOUS man. At first Ice has to push River away, to keep her safe, but then when he claims her, holy wow!! Amazing book, I can not wait to keep reading this series!!
River, a beautiful widow is invited by her friend DC to an Iron Dogz MC Braai. There she meets the handsome VP, Ice. When she leaves the following morning, he doesn’t intend taking things further, although he desperately wants to.
This is Rene Van Dalen storytelling at its very best: danger, tension, secrets, betrayals, mystery, action and malicious OW interference.
This is an outstanding series, I have read it several times and will continue to do so. It deserves more than 5*
This was so engaging. Thoroughly enjoyed. The MC action was intensely suspenseful, the romantic angst exciting and the characters were entertaining. I love this bunch of hot alpha bikers, well most of them. They have a way of selecting tough ladies with big hearts. Enjoyed this a lot!
Ice's past was back in the form of his ex. River had a touch few years after her loss and looking after her son become number 1, going to the Iron Dogs family BBQ, puts her in the sights of Ice, but with trouble surrounding the club, pasts collide can they go the distance? Well written the character depths and story hold your attention through out. Action, drama, desires and more!
The Iron Dogz are under attack again. There are severe injuries and death. River is an interesting woman. She's the perfect friend for DC. They have a strong bond. Ice has his work cut out for him to win over River and keeping her safe at the same time.
Wow this book was a huge improvement on the first. Lots of answers that were left hanging in the first. Ice and Blue definitely had a better relationship that Hawk and DC. More of a family vibes in this one.
Another fantastic read. Absolutely loved Ice and River’s story ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t get enough of this series. They battle through the chaos, deal with their enemies, love Crow, what a character. Excited to read the next book. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
