The Amish Nurse's Suitor is an exceptional story written by Carrie Lighter. The characters are very well suited to the story. They are likeable and realistic. The storyline moves along at at great pace and definitely holds the readers interest.

Rachel Blank left her Amish community years ago to become a nurse. While in a lull waiting for word as to whether she moves on to becoming a nurse practitioner she received a letter from home urging her to return to help with her brothers business while he is seriously ill in the hospital. When she returns she expects the cold shoulder from her oldest brother and his wife but what she receives had her contemplating returning to the English world immediately. Being the strong woman she is she is not about to now down to anyone especially her brothers partner Arden. Arden has secrets he is not willing to reveal to Rachel which causes turmoil for the two has they continue to keep the shop open. Between many misunderstandings, mistakes, and secrets Rachel almost crumbles. This is a story filled with family, love, forgiveness, and second chances.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with five stars because I loved the entire story thru the good and the bad. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Amish genre. All opinions are my own.

Congratulations to Carrie Lighter for writing another amazing story for her readers enjoyment.

This takes place just after Easter in Maine. The story is about faith and family and acceptance and forgiveness. Both of the main characters are facing challenges, and one has a big decision to make. Excepting the location, I don't think this is connected to the other books in the series.

This was my first introduction to the Amish Romance category- so going in I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but my curiosity was piqued.

What I got was a simple but sweet budding of a love story between a woman who left her Amish community to become English and an awkward sometimes charming Amish man who struggles with dyslexia and has a hard time reaching out about it.

It was an easy read and I blew through it, enjoying the majority of the story.

However, near the last quarter, I was finding it difficult to get through as miscommunication was the main form of conflict which got incredibly frustrating. One moment the two main characters are giggling with each other in a sweet moment, then the next they are upset and angry over eavesdropping and making assumptions.

Yet, I was really interested in seeing more of the courtship occur for their relationship and see how it would expand...but the book ended abruptly with a time skip. I'm not sure if that is something to be expected of the genre, but I was mildly disappointed.

Rachel Blank left her Amish community to become a nurse. Her brother becomes ill and she returns from Boston to help him with his recovery and his business. She finds that Arden Esh, her brother's partner is challenging her. She wants to get back to Boston to get away from him. When she left, she had not been Baptised so she was not shunned by the others in the community. Unfortunately, there is a lot of miscommunication between members of her family and the community and her. Before the conclusion, she makes a decision. To find out what it is and why she makes it, buy this book.

I struggled at times the the two main characters. I thought that they both had unpleasant attitudes throughout the majority of the book - were immature and Childish for their ages.

Cute but nothing special. To be honest, Arden was a bit of a tool and I'd re-think things if I were Rachel!
