Fallen Royals #3

Wicked Promises

Rate this book
I made a promise to Caleb, and I intended to keep it.
I just didn’t anticipate the aftermath.

One betrayal.
One lie.
One devastating cover up.

It’s all out in the open now, and this time, I’m not running away.
The secrets I hold are enough to destroy us.

The truth is supposed to set us free—but we aren’t destined for freedom.

This is a dark high school bully romance with mature content and themes. It contains dubious situations that some readers may find offensive. If you're looking for a white knight hero, this book is not for you.

Wicked Promises is book three of the Fallen Royals Series. It is the conclusion of a trilogy and NOT a standalone.

For those of you that just want to know what all the drama is about in these books, this is for you. Keep in mind I skimmed through the second book and skipped to the end of the third to find the answers that I could not find in the reviews. If I would have just gotten the answers from the reviews I could've saved myself the struggle of these two books. So for those of you like me, here it is:

I could go on and on about these books, but there's no point. If you wasted your time on them I am sorry and if you haven't started, don't. Read this review and be done with it.

Well... I have to say that this last book in the Wicked trilogy (for the first couple for this series), really did better than the second one.

Again corroborating with my theory that all those highschool bullies -same couple- trilogies out in the world, should be just a duet or a decent standalone.

This one closes the story between Caleb and Margo (God, I hate her name).

All the build up mystery around her stalker and the death of Caleb's Dad, comes to an end in this book.

Wasn't much of a mystery at this point, if you could've catch all the bread crumbs along the way, but the author knew how to finish the story, and still put some unexpected revelations in the end.

Both Margo and Caleb evolved during a short period of time, and afar from their dark and ruthless beginning, they become a bit of an ordinary highschool couple. Like an old marriage couple.

The end was good, but it could've been less rushed and more settle along the book. The first half dragged a little, just to be fastened closed in the last few chapters.
A few small troublemaker's characters that appeared along the trilogy, where MIA in this book, and this was weird too.

This was absolutely the perfect end for a breathtaking series.
This book kept me up all night , I had to finish it .
There were so much plot twists , now that all the secrets ( at least a good part of them) where out.
There wasn't no running away now. Caleb and Margo had to came to face once and for all with their past, and stop fighting each other but collaborate against the common enemy :THE PAST.
The truth was supposed to set them free, well I have to say it took a while but in the end it really happened.
All the questions where finally answered ,
everything that was UNKNOWN was reveled ,
and justice was made in the best possible was .
I LOVED IT, I NEED MORE BOOKS ABOUT THIS SERIES .
I'M NOT READY TO LET IT GO
I GAVE IT 4.95 STARS

helloo
welcome to another review for a book i dnf’d because i hated the characters✌️

i liked the plot. for once, i was actually interested in what was going on. i just felt that there were so many unnecessary details and scenes and because of that i ended up getting so bored as the series progressed. also the pacing for the book was kind of all over the place. i honestly couldn’t tell whether it was fast or slow. in the end, i really wasn’t in the mood to put my brain through the blender so here we are.

I also didn’t love this one. Was it terrible? No. It was just ok. The mystery is good enough to keep you going, but the characters didn’t do it for me.

Spicy Level:🌶️🌶️/5

I’m honestly disappointed with this book. After loving Wicked Dreams and Wicked Games, this one just fell a little flat for me.

Note: This is book 3 of the Fallen Royals Series and NOT A STANDALONE so please if you care about possible spoilers from the previous books, I advise you don’t read on and rather go read those first and then come back! Else… CARRY ON!

𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨:
I’m going to skip over the synopsis, but the book picks up right where book two ends with Caleb finding Margo after she was kidnapped from the Car Accident...

What frustrated me the most was the pacing. I’m not sure if it was my mood, the vibe, or just how I was feeling generally while reading, but after two whole books of push-and-pull between these two characters, it started to get irritating and feel VERY DRAGGY.

EVERYTHING in the story felt like it was dragging, and one of my biggest issues was that I’d accidentally come across a spoiler about who "Unknown" was. So all I could focus on was waiting for that reveal to finally happen, and it took so long to get there because of all the back-and-forth between Margo and Caleb. It was fine in book one, and cool in book two, but by book three, it felt repetitive and a little weak. Then when it finally happened the plot moved so quickly that I could hardly almost catch up with all the twists and turns and reveals all culminating in the end and it made them feel messy.

That being said, I still enjoyed the series overall. It was a wild ride with many emotional highs and lows and plot twists, and I loved seeing how Margo and Caleb grew individually and as a couple. Caleb, even though he’s still the quintessential alpha-hole, learned to soften a bit, becoming sweeter and more romantic toward Margo without losing his "alpha" edge.

I especially appreciated Margo’s character growth, particularly in her relationships with her foster parents and her biological father. Those aspects wrapped up nicely and gave her the closure she needed and the HEA she deserved, which felt satisfying.

Another minor frustration was Riley's character felt weird and annoyingly secret. She felt more like a background character, and I missed her usual vibrance and bubbly personality. SOOOO I GUESS I CAN'T WAIT TILL HER AND ELI'S BOOK TO KNOW WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT!

Despite my mixed feelings about this book, I do enjoy S. Massery’s writing style. She does bully Romance well, and I’m excited for the series to finally continue (even if it's not yet Eli's book).

𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨:
▶ Dual POV
▶ High School Romance
▶ Bully Romance
▶ Alphamale
▶ Obsessive, Possessive and Jealous MMC
▶ Touch Her You Die
▶ Cages her with his arms
▶ More
▶ Hand Necklaces
▶ Childhood Best Friends

Overall, while Wicked Promises wasn’t my favourite, this series still holds a special place for its drama, angst, and unforgettable characters.

Thank you to S. Massery and Valentine PR for my gifted copy.

*ORIGINAL REVIEW*
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

Oh my stars, this book completely consumed me! My book hangover will be substantial. I can't remember the last time a book series made me feel this way. I can feel it in my bones.

I think that Massery's writing gets better with each book. I can't get over how inviting her writing style is. Reading one of her books just feels so natural. The narration is smooth and welcoming. I find myself racing through the pages with no effort. The way that she plots out her stories is something that I have to applaud her for. This book, and each of the books in this series, kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. She weaves mystery and suspense into her stories effortlessly. You can't help but feel compelled to keep reading. Her writing is clever and mapped out so well.

These characters sink down into your bones. I don't know how else to put it. They get inside your head and under your skin. I love how relatable and likable the characters are. You can't help but love them and root for them. Even at the beginning of the series when Caleb was being a douchebag, he was still such an intriguing character. I also loved the character development for both Caleb and Margo. They change so much from the characters that we meet in the first book of the series and I loved watching their evolutions. I adore the secondary characters in this series and what we did get to see of them and their lives really makes me excited to read their stories when the series continues.

The development and progression of the romance in this series has been a delight to read. I love that Caleb and Margo are childhood best friends. Their past is full of a lot of trauma but they are able to hang on to each other while they weather the storm of their past and present. When they were finally a united front it was truly a beautiful thing. I loved Caleb's devotion to Margo. The connection that they shared was so intense. Their chemistry was off the charts.

Overall, this is such a raw and edgy series that is full of epic suspense and unforgettable characters. You will feel so drawn to the story and you won't want to put it down. I am so excited for the rest of the books in this series and whatever is next from this author! I am now officially a fangirl.

Great conclusion to an angst-filled, steamy, enemies-to-lovers tale with a lot of intrigue, twists, and little clues. I liked the evolution of the hero and heroine's relationship, both demonstrating more maturity and strength. The character development was excellent, with the side characters contributing extensively and very enjoyable to the drama. You truly felt as if you knew each character, could feel their personal response to the events.

Towards the middle of the book, the storyline began to lose some pace with a lot of superfluous detail that impacted its progression. By now at book 3, I felt I was reading more of the same. I knew how events would come to fruition. A great intertwining of steam, tumultuous love and romantic suspense whose writing slowed its pace.

Wicked Promises does not disappoint my friends! This book is my absolute favorite of the trilogy. I devoured this book in less than a day (adulting did not get in the way this time!) and I wish I would have taken more time to savor this amazing conclusion to Margo and Caleb’s story. I’m fairly certain I’m having a serious book hangover right now. Wicked Promises takes off exactly where Wicked Games left off. Remember that cliffhanger?! Well, we find out exactly what happens to Margo right away. This book starts off with a bang and just keeps getting better and better the more you read. Wicked Promises is everything I needed and more. The ending to this amazing trilogy is EVERYTHING! Margo and Caleb own my heart completely.

Caleb Asher is my new book boyfriend. He is MINE and no one else can have him! He is one of my favorite book boyfriends to date. Caleb has come along way since Wicked Dreams. I did not like his character at all in Wicked Dreams, I started to fall in love with him in Wicked Games, and I am completely head-over-heels in love with his character in Wicked Promises. His character transformation and development is one of my absolute favorite things about this trilogy. Caleb can still be pretty dark and twisted at times (why do I enjoy that so much?), but it’s never directed at Margo anymore. That boy is so completely head-over-heels in love with that girl and he would do anything to protect. In Wicked Promises, we start to see a more mature and grown-up side of Caleb. It’s so refreshing to see, especially after the crap he pulled in Wicked Dreams and Wicked Games. He started to realize that Margo is not the one to blame for all of his family and life troubles. Caleb does some reflection of his own and starts to put some of the missing pieces together in his mind. I won’t say more than that because I do not want to give anything away! I’m basically obsessed with Caleb’s character and I think so many people will be too after they read Wicked Promises. He is the absolute best and I am so sad that his story is over.

Margo Wolfe has also done a complete transformation in this trilogy. She started off as timid, more of a push over, and easily manipulated by Caleb. Now, she’s a complete and total badass. She doesn’t let anyone walk all over her and if she wants answers, she goes out and gets those answers. She doesn’t let Caleb (or anyone else really) tell her what to do or what to think. She truly is her own person now. Margo is also a little bit more dark, wicked, and twisted. And let me tell you, I am here for it! I fully encourage this side of her. It’s not quite where Caleb is, but it’s not too far off. It’s also something she struggles to come to terms with. She doesn’t really know what to do with this darker side of herself. I think it’s used as a form of protection from all of the bad memories and bad things people have done to her. When Margo finally unlocks her memories, she struggles to come to terms with this new knowledge and how to handle the fallout. She’s such a strong and amazing character though. She figures it out one step at a time and I admire the hell out of her.

Again, Margo and Caleb are FIRE together. These two could set a building on fire with how hot their chemistry is. I absolutely love them together. Wicked Games focused more on the physical connection/relationship between Margo and Caleb, while Wicked Promises focuses more on the development of a deeper emotional connection/relationship between them. This is what I had been waiting for! I am all for a hot physical relationship between two characters, but when they can also connect on a deeper emotional level, then I am a complete goner for them. Margo and Caleb start to communicate with one another and work together to get answers about the mystery surrounding the Asher and Wolfe families. It was amazing to watch their love grow and evolve. They had respect for one another and didn’t want to see the other hurt. They also had complete faith in one another. Margo knows Caleb will do anything to protect her, right his wrongs, and help her find the answers she so desperately needs. Caleb knows Margo will do anything to protect him, make him feel loved, and help him find the answers he so desperately needs. These two have come such a long way since Wicked Dreams and they deserve their happy ending. And the ending to the trilogy is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

S Massery did a fantastic job on the secondary characters as well. Robert and Lenora are amazing foster parents. I loved Robert in Wicked Games, but I wasn’t as big of a fan of Lenora. Wicked Promises completely changed my view of Lenora’s character. We get to know a lot more about Lenora and realize that she’s actually a pretty good person. I wasn’t expecting to like her character, so I was pleasantly surprised when I did. And of course I still love Robert in Wicked Promises. I adore his relationship with Margo. We learn so much more about Margo and Caleb’s parents and how their lives spiraled out of control and they ended up where they are today. I’m not going to go into detail on them because it would be too hard not to give something away! I love my bad boys of Emery-Rose Elite and was so happy to see a little bit more of them (cannot wait for all their stories!). Riley is amazing as always and I can’t wait to learn more about her and Eli next. Those two are so complex.

Overall, I give this story 5/5 stars! Wicked Promises has a little bit of everything. This story has suspense, intrigue, mystery, and intense romance. Wicked Promises finally unveils the mystery of the Wolfe and Asher families, what Margo’s blocked memories are, and reveals Unknown’s identity and how they factor into Caleb and Margo’s story. There is so much to love about this book and the trilogy overall. You will not want this story to end, but when it does, it has the PERFECT ending! You may even tear up a bit because Margo and Caleb deserve their happy ending and they finally get it! I’m sad to reach the end of Margo and Caleb’s journey, but I am so excited to see where S Massery takes us in Eli and Riley’s story next.

Margo and Calebs story comes to an end and we finally get the answers that have been bugging us since book one. Unknown was not who I thought they'd be and this made it so much better for me.

I'm a sucker for a good bully romance, and although, at this point in the story, Caleb is no longer Margos bully, he still has this air about him that draws you in. He still has that "no one can bully her but me" vibe and I'm here for it.

I was impatient to discover all the truths and now we're here, I'm so happy all involved can move forward with their lives.

I've really enjoyed this series.

Thank you so much to the author and Valentine PR for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Margo and Caleb story comes to an end. Wow all the answers I needed since the beginning of their journey is finally answered. I have anxiously wanted to know who “Unknown” is and no way was not who I was thinking. Awesome twists especially more with Caleb dads death. The one memory Margo lost or blocked and have been teased with since beginning has finally come to surface and it was good to finally know.

The first two books had me needing to know what would happen next and the last book in this trilogy definitely took us for a WILD ride. I could not believe some of these twists and so much happened in this book! However, this was a beautiful conclusion for this series and I couldn't resist in finishing it quickly! S. Massery, I'm not sure what you put in this trilogy, but five freaking stars!

Huh, turns out I was right about who Unknown is.

In this final installment, the story focuses more on finding out what happened in their past and of course, figuring out who 'Unknown' is.

It turns out, a whole lot more people were involved and it was so complicated that I felt I need a mind-map to establish the connection.

Having said that, the whole thing ends in a satisfactory note and I love, love, love the epilogue!

Can't wait for Eli and Riley's story. And I still stand by with what I said about how this series is very similar to Rina Ken't Royal Elite. Eli and Riley reminds me a lot of Xander and Kim while Theo is similar to Cole.

Wicked Promises is the conclusion to Caleb and Margot's story and what a ride it is. The relationship between the two main characters has changed so much throughout the trilogy and they really do come together in this book. All the questions I had were answered, the identity of unknown is revealed and it wasn't who I expected it to be. The plot around the death of Caleb's father was far more twisted than I ever anticipated.

S. Massery crafted a great finale for Caleb and Margot, full of suspense and mystery with all the romance and heated tension between them that I love. Margot with Caleb at her side developed into a strong heroine and they turned out to be perfectly matched. I hope we get to see more of Riley and Eli in the series as it progresses. There are several other secondary characters that I enjoyed throughout the trilogy and I hope they also make an appearance in the future books in the Fallen Royals series.

From an audiobook standpoint, Troy and Stephanie did an amazing job bringing this story to life. They exuded confidence, passion and emotion where it was needed. They spoke with conviction and clarity altering pitch and cadence wonderfully between different characters in their narrated chapters, which not all narrators do successfully. I am fully invested in the Fallen Royals world and will definitely continue to read the series as it's released.

Did I binge this in a few hours? Yes I did. This one just didn’t hit as well as the others. Margo and Caleb finally resolve their hate into love it just took so long. The plot got wild and a little messy with all the suspects involved especially with Matt. I felt like it happened all at once, in a rush, and I almost feel like I need read that part again. Unknown wasn’t working alone, and there were so many factors and people to distinguish who the main person was. I’m glad we got our resolution though because not only poor Margo but her sweet foster parents went through it it.

Thinking about it more, what was up with Riley and Eli things felt weird and unresolved there and I’m going to need a book on those two. We also NEVER found out about how she painted Caleb’s eyes and mouth for her final… Also, that one Liam chapter?! Def excited for his standalone

A BEAUTIFUL ENDING👏🏾

⭐️4 🌶️3

Listennnnnn to me when I say it has been a long journey on the morally gray , psychotic , traumatizing love train of Margo and Caleb , but we got there and the ending was exactly what I wanted and needed it to be👏🏾

When I say I knew in my gut who unknown was so I wasn’t shocked , I was however shocked at how deep the story ran and the past was crazy .

This is definitely one of those books where you can’t trust ANYONE! I suspected everyone at one point to the point I felt like Stiles in that scene of Teen Wolf when he was piecing clues together on his board lol .

I’m just so happy we got a beautiful ending even if it took a good while to get all the answers I was dying for .

Have you ever read a book, then discovered it was a trilogy (thank God all books are out!) and you’ve read them so fast, through the night, back to back and later on couldn’t tell them apart as individual books? ⠀

I read 𝑾𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔, 𝑾𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑮𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔, 𝑾𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒔, the first 3 books in the 𝑭𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍𝒔 series one right after the other, no pause, no break. And I got sucked into the story and characters, into Caleb and Margo’s relationship and their history. All three books became as one, events flowing seamlessly, past and present merging until I was finally able to breath when it all came together (I called it… just the major part but still) but I still went through a whirlwind of emotions. ⠀

This is a dark, bully high school romance. Please heed the trigger warnings. It’s not for everyone… but I loved EVERY second of it. ⠀

You know that trope, childhood best-friends, to enemies, to enemies sleeping together but still hating one another, to lovers that still have some issues until well we get to the HEA? Man this was a messy ride, the chaos, the twists and turns pulled me in so many directions, this is me 🤯. ⠀

Caleb and Margo’s entire world got upended when they were little and they got separated. Caleb blamed Margo for the chain of events that led to everything blowing up. She got the brunt of it but what he was put through wasn’t a walk in the park either. Don’t want to ruin it to anyone so I won’t go deeper into the plot nor the characters. Love them or hate them, up to you but I did, it was one hell of a ride though!⠀

Throughout all 3 books, I got more and more invested in the storyline as a whole. There were so many players involved by the end that between that and the unveiling of the plot, the secrets being revealed, I felt like I was literally right there alongside Caleb and Margo trying to piece together what the hell was going on, not only in the present but also over the past several years. ⠀

These were my first read by S. Massery and I’m already on 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔. Also, dying for Theo’s book because he’s Theo and I have a feeling he’s worse than Caleb! 😈

Great ending for a trilogy and loved the bonus epilogue. I appreciate when we receive an ending that shows what the future holds.

I absolutely hated Caleb in few books. He only redeemed himself in this book.

Margo annoyed me because she wasn't having common sense with telling people about the harassment till too late.

I suspected Claire in previous books which i commented in previous reviews. I don't understand why she got off so easily with just jovi. She's obviously crazy.

I suspected Hanna being related but honestly I thought she was related through Margo since her mom disappeared not through Lydia Caleb's mom.

What doesn't make sense is why Matt helped Claire? He was dating Claire but helped in all this because.......
What did they as in Caleb's mom and uncle use to force his hand since he's dating Claire and Caleb was his friend ? There was no conclusion as to what happened to him.

I'm happy Margo's dad was shown innocent. I was sad she requested not to be adopted but glad they were all able to become a blended family. Kind of disappointed that her dad is in a relationship with Caleb's uncle's now ex wife. Didn't she watch his uncle abuse Caleb? I do love Robert and Lenora.

I do think this could of been a duet instead of a trilogy.

Wicked Promises (Fallen Royals#3) by S. Massery
This is the third and final book of the trilogy. There will be more books about Caleb's friends but they will be stand alone in this world.
In this book Sm works on both ends. On one hand you get more complications in the conspiracy surrounding Margo and Caleb but on the other hand they – and us – understand what happened in the past, who is unknown and their roll in what happened who knew and what did they know and who really is behind everything
I really loved the first two books.
I loved this book but I was so ready to find out what happened so that I got to it with no breath left. I guessed who unknown was but I was not prepared to the extent of the conspiracy and the persons involved
I loved the life force Caleb and Margo became and how strong they became through all they have been through
It was a wild ride!

you-all-have-to

This was one of the most anticipated books of this year for me. From the moment I read the first two books of this trilogy, I have been dying to read the next one.
S. Massery has taken us on a ride full of heartbreak, redemption and soo much love. I absolutely loved both Caleb and Margo. However Caleb was a bit too much of a jerk for me at times. The way he handled himself and kept on blaming Margo for things she clearly had no control over was just stupid. But his journey for redemption was even more enjoyable. The way he hurt her in the first and second book was just so gruesome. In the end he was the sole reason for all of her suffering.
I was surprised that Margo found it in her to forgive him for all that.

you-all-have-to

I’ve hunted her down, bullied her, broke her. But in the end, she turned out stronger than I could’ve imagined.

This book picked up right after where Wicked Games ended. We finally get to know more about the cliffhanger and Margo's stalker is finally revealed, and let me tell you , that was one awesome twist. None of you will expect that.
The way the story is portrayed, those moments of heartbreak, a stalker and the vulnerable moments just broke my heart.
Finally Margo and Caleb got their long due happy ever after in this book. However the same cannot be said for Theo and Eli. The way the author gave those little twists for their books and introduced us to those characters was just marvelous. I just can't wait for their books.
This book is recommended to all the Bully romance lovers , with a bit of stalker twist in their books!!!

I just really met Author S Massery’s books, but she has quickly catapulted to top author status. S Massery’s writing just keeps getting better and better. More brilliant. More breathtaking. More everything. From beginning to end, Wicked Promises is a breathtaking, beautifully broken and brilliantly told romance that took me on a riveting roller coaster where I felt every twist, turn, and tear at my heartstrings as this tale wholly owned me. Hook, line, and sinker.

This is a story and series of two broken souls becoming whole together, an evolution of a caged butterfly spreading her wings as her soulmate helps her fly. With each tale in this trilogy, I fell harder in love with Caleb and Margo as they slayed demons and embraced their destiny as soulmates. I loved witnessing Margo rise— her newly found confidence, courage, and strength as she survives every battle that tries to break her. She is as strong as she is stunning, a queen who only keeps rising! The hero, Caleb, is beautiful, broody, bold and brave—became better with each book in this series.

Strength comes from being pushed to your limits and surviving.

I fell in love with Caleb and Margo, both so bold, so broken, and so beautiful with chemistry so palpable and a connection so powerful—soulmates destined to be one. I felt this hero and heroines’ story as if it were my own—so happy and heartbroken for these characters. Margo and Calebs’ story—this story—is more of an evolution than a romance. It’s dark and light and everything in between. Their journey became mine as I fell full throttle into this heart-thrashing romance. I couldn’t stop reading this tale until I trusted that these characters found the light to guide them out of the dark.

”How do you feel?”
“Lost.”
“Then I’ll find you.”

Wicked Promises is a stunning, shattering, and suspenseful saga of strength, salvation, survival, survival, and soulmates. The best of dark romance and suspense woven with passion and pulse-pounding words. Wicked Promises thrust me to the emotional edge and I felt it penetrate everywhere! OMG!!! The angst ... the anger ... the fear ... the elation ... the love ... I felt everything! I loved it all!

Villains ... they’ll do anything to win.

Massery flawlessly bleeds broken with beautiful and terror with tenderness in this heart-thrashing romance. My heart and soul were hit so hard as this story stuck my emotions like a storm, one that raged the best blend of darkness and light, a book that burns in beauty and brokenness. I’m still burning from the fire and feels of the Fallen Royals series.

”Look how far we’ve come. How far we’ve fallen.”

There aren’t enough stars for this special love story I consumed in one sitting ... or rather Wicked Promises consumed me. I’m still consumed and captivated. This is a cancel-all-plans-turn-off-your phone story and series that every young adult reader and dark romance lover must read! A TOP 2020 READ & MUST-READ ROMANCE!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ heartbreakingly beautiful stars

Ok now I've completed this dreadful series... I can say that it obviously did a good job keeping me wanting more. There was a lot of things I hated about the book series. Mostly, that the whole series should have been about a book shorter. There were too many webs and it was hard to follow at times. I also had to disassociate with the fact these were high-school kids.. no one in high school acts this way. In my mind, I had to vision them as college kids so I could accept the storyline better (although foster parents through that though process off a bit).. overall the spice level was through the roof and the mystery unfolded throughout the series. I think there was too much fluff added. The author could have cut out a lot of unnecessary scenes. This hockey series turned into a murder mystery. Everyone knew bits and pieces of the puzzle, but no one would talk. The main characters would go to extreme lengths to find answers instead of going to the source and asking. Ultimately, would I recommend this series.... no? Yes? Idk. I guess I would if you have nothing else to do for a few days but get lost in this unforgiving web.
