A Sweet Reunion is the clean and wholesome version of All of Me.
What would you do for a second chance with your first love?
Welcome to wine country and the small town of Starlight Hill, California, where the wine flows freely and so does the gossip.
The town has never quite forgiven Ivey Lancaster for leaving their favorite son, Dr. Jeff Garner, when she met a man on an online dating site. But while the people of the township took sides, the truth of her absence is something Ivey doesn’t want anyone to know.
When a sudden change of plans forces Ivey to work with her hunky ex, she must keep it professional or risk her heart all over again.
My feelings for this book were all over the place while reading. Some parts I really enjoyed, while other parts I was irritated. I felt so bad for Ivey. Her entire life she sacrificed herself for other people's happiness. Everyone knew how selfless she was and would constantly take advantage of her, including her best friend, Brooke. It really bugged me that no one was there emotionally for Ivey when she needed someone. I would've loved to see Ivey and Jeff work things out sooner in the book so we could see how they overcame the secret and rebuilt their trust for each other. I hate that it just ended. I know this is a series and we might see more of Ivey and Jeff, but I wanted to feel some "closure" on their story.
All in all, cute book. I think I'll pick up book two to see if we get just a bit more Ivey and Jeff.
Ivey and Jeff has been boyfriend/girlfriend for years and when he was in med school and she found herself pregnant she moved away. He had always wanted to be a doctor and she never wanted him to get sidetracked from his dream. When her aunt breaks her leg she returns and runs into Jeff at the hospital where she was applying for a midwife position and are put on a committee together. Can they work together and will she tell him about their baby she lost?

A Sweet Reunion is a story about second chances. Jeff’s hometown is Starlight Hill in Napa Valley. He left home to go to medical school, and has recently returned home to do his residency.
Ivey is also from Starlight Hill. She left home years ago and has just returned home to take care of her aunt. Ivey hopes to get the midwife position at the new women’s center, so she can permanently move back home.
Ivey and Jeff began dating in high school. Unfortunately, they broke up when Jeff was in medical school due to a series of misunderstood signals. Because of that, they have never seen each other since.
It is great fun reading about the slowly growing, second chance relationship between Ivey and Jeff. It starts with anger, frustration and unwanted attraction. Even though, there are several false starts along the way, they eventually find their happily-ever-after.
This is the first book in the Sweet Life series. In this book there is no cursing and no sex scenes. It is “just sweet love.”
I loved this short and sweet story about grief, the power of attraction, and second chances. All the sweet love without unnecessary sexual content or cursing. A book that you can read in one sitting! Well, in my case I devoured it in one night with a box of kleenex on the side as it touched on a sensitive topic for me but it’s a captivating story that will touch your heart.
Ivey and Jeff were high school sweethearts whose love story got cut short after a series of miscommunications drew them apart and many years later their professional paths crossed in the same small town that took sides when they broke up, making them face old feelings and deal with the consequences of their long-kept secrets. When everything was laid out in the open, including their ever-present sizzling chemistry, they had to decide if they were willing to give each other a second chance.
I was greatly invested in their story, as much as I was divided by the town’s involvement in their relationship, it was frantic as it was humorous, at times frustrating but redeeming at the end. An accurate portrayal of that small-town bantering many of us is more than familiar with.
If you love a short, sweet second chances romance then this book may be the one for you!
What a wonderful start to the series. I read one of the stories that comes later and was very intrigued with the characters of this quaint town.
Ivey Lancaster left town after her high school sweetheart, who is away at college studying to become a doctor, said he needed a break from her. Jeff Garner was struggling with all the responsibilities and work that he was doing and Ivey was suddenly very clingy and needy. He immediately knew it was a mistake but when he got back to town, Ivey was gone! Story around town is she found love on a on-line dating web-site.
Ivey left town for another reason. A painful reason and one that she didn't let many know. After being gone for 5 years, Ivey is back in town; she is a mid-wife who wants to work at the local hospital. Unbeknownst to Ivey, Jeff is also back in town and is a doctor in the ER.
Will these two find a way to bridge the past? Will Ivey's secret drive the final wedge between them? Or will love conquer all and be a second chance to these two with their first love?
Sweet or sour,Ivey is a nurse midwife who returned to her hometown to help her aunt during a recuperation. JEff is a medical resident working at the local hospital in the emergency room. They find themselves on a committee of two to make a recommendation to the hospital’s board regarding the possibility of nurse midwives working in a brand new women’s birth center. The snag pops it head up when they see each other as they were sweethearts thru high school and college with a breakup occurring while Jeff was in medical school. A month later, Ivey had moved away and hadn’t been home since. The story takes off and has some predictable plot elements but there is enough mystery left to keep the pages turning.
This one was sweet and mostly clean (one scene with her in a slightly scandalous outfit). There was no language and only kissing. A lot happened in this book! High school sweethearts that got separated for various reasons with secrets on both sides. I love the giant ribbon he uses in the end. They finally get back together. In the end there was give and take on both sides to make the relationship work.
Cons: There could have been a little bit more personality development so that it didn’t feel all about kissing. I was a little mad at the towns taking sides especially since it felt like they mostly took his.
Ivey and Jeff were young and in love. But an unplanned pregnancy made Ivey make a tough decision. Jeff was always so sure about what he wanted and a family wasn't in his early plans. Misunderstandings...thrown back together...a whole town that can't stand by and watch. Great story. So happy with the ending!
Ivey and Jeff are a wonderful love story. Yes it had a really bad middle. The beginning is only revealed in glimpses but was evidently a good start. And the ending is waiting on you.
What a way to start a series. This author writes stories that she knows her readers will love. The characters were so engaging. The plot was heart-warming.
Sometimes things go wrong for all the right reasons. This wholesome love story is about such things. Can love survive in spite of a critical wrong decision?
I thought this was a sweet story, but the author moved through events too quickly. Important moments didn't get time to breathe and it felt like everything unfolded rapidly.
