Grace spent several years looking after her cancer-ridden mother. Her mother couldn't handle the stress and left ... never to look back.

Now that mom has died, Grace wants to do something ..anything .... she has no friends, no job, and when she sees an advertisement touting a competition to win a hiking holiday, she jumps at the chance. Much to her surprise .... she wins.

The hiking experience is a new one, and now she's hiking along with seven strangers. But not all is smooth sailing for the hikers.

One of them falls and sprains an ankle, forcing them all to take an alternate route. One hiker disappears in the middle of the night. Each of the hikers wind up hurt.. or worse.

She wonders if she will be next ......

The plot is tightly woven showcasing a character that is not only credible, but unforgettable, as well. The suspense maintains its intensity from the very first page to the explosive ending. Although third in a series, this one is easily read as a stand alone. However, I do recommend starting at the beginning ..... these are terrific authors who bring us riveting stories.

Many thanks to the authors for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

If I Should Die is the third book in the Crime After Crime series and you really must read these in order, or it spoil the other two.

This was such a great story, the suspense and fear tightly woven into the plot. Aunt Agatha would be proud! Set mainly in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, that you start by thinking I would love to go on a walking holiday there, but by the end, you will be frightened to go to the park.

The intensity of the suspense is maintained throughout right until the magnificent ending. Such a great story, the perfect ending to a fantastic trilogy by 2 writers at the top of their game.

After Spending Years Assisting Her Sick Mom,Grace Is Delighted To Win A Hiking Trip...But All Is Not As It Seems

Wow Wee!! What a smashing end to a series that is a psychological nightmare! Suspense, action, many twists and turns had me believing one thing, then believing something completely opposite!!
Grace has wasted her teen years, caring for her Mom at 16 years old when her Dad left them. Now at 24, her Mom has died, and Grace is hoping to enjoy some time for herself. So happy to win a hiking trip in Scotland, joining seven experienced hikers. Fresh air and gorgeous sights has everybody feeling well, until strange incidents start to occur.
A hiker can't find her phone, then another hiker gets hurt...small things start to add up, until they are all upset and blaming one another... The suspense, fear of each other and the wildlife around them, draws you deeply into the story! An outstanding thrill ride that you can not put down until the wild ending! I highly recommend this three book series, but each book can be read alone, a 5 STAR story that will remain on your mind long after the reading is done....

The location for the story couldn’t be more perfect for a murder. Whilst you can appreciate the stunning views, you could also feel the utter isolation. Grace finds herself spending her holiday with seven strangers. I was intrigued to know whether the characters were going to get on or not as they would be pretty much living out of each other’s pockets.

There are a mixed bunch of people on the hiking holiday. Some I liked more than others. When strange things start to happen, I feared for their safety, not just Grace’s. The chapters that the authors sneak in every now and then with a character whose identity is kept hidden, really adds to the air of mystery.

If I Should Die has a real who dunnit vibe with the story taking place in such a remote location. It’s almost like a modern take on Agatha Christie but more darker. The fear from the characters passes over onto the reader and I was just as scared as they were. Everything is kept from the readers so that when things come to a close, I was very much taken by surprise as had seen certain things coming. A chilling read that will have you thinking twice about going hiking!

Book 3 in the Crime after Crime series, and I think maybe this may be my favorite. I wasn't sure at first and it took a couple of chapters to pull me in, but WOW...once pulled in the authors had me hook, line and sinker. I quickly became invested in Grace and her struggles (she actually reminded me somewhat of me); and the crew she's hooked up with for the hike she's won were so well described I could see them and felt I knew them. I didn't know who to trust.

As the hike begins the tension builds. Every page is a delight of Grace's view of the trip and her fellow travelers. The killer is woven in a way that makes you suspect everyone and the ending came as a surprise. The hiking party falls victim one after another. Will anyone survive?

You'll have to read the book to find out. Highly recommending to both psychological thriller and mystery lovers.

OMW, what an intense and gripping story that I managed to read in just over a day (haven’t been able to do that in a while) I truly could not put it down. I only realised that this was book 3 in a series after I was well into the story, but I honestly believe this can be read as a standalone book.
After Grace’s mom passes away after a very long illness that Grace has nursed her through as a 16 year old teenager, Grace now 24, and without friends and only an estranged father for family. Grace wins a hiking holiday in Scotland, and even though a novice, decides this is just what she needs, and she joins a group of seven other experienced hikers.
After a day or two, things start to go very wrong, starting with one of the hikers going missing.
What an exciting roller-coaster this book was, I kept changing my mind as to who the killer was and was kept in suspense throughout.
Highly recommended.

Having nursed her Mum through a long battle with cancer, Grace is struggling now her Mum has died.
Grace wins a hiking holiday in Scotland and decides to go, even though it is for experienced hikers, which she is definitely not!
After the first night is spent at the centre, Grace and the other hikers go off into the Highlands with their guide, Ainslie. It’s not long before things go badly wrong and fall outs happen due to suspicions of each other.
This is a great story and I was wondering the whole time who the killer was. Great twists in the plot meant that when I thought I knew who the killer was, my ideas were soon turned upside down again! Lovely descriptive writing about the Highlands, if you closed your eyes, you could be there. I would highly recommend this book.

This was such an amazing, fantastic epic end to the crime after crime series. Grace has been looking after her mother who had cancer for years and years, unfortunately, her mother’s cancer ends up finally winning and she dies.

Grace is left not knowing what to do, where to go. She is totally grief-stricken and lost. She was scrolling through Facebook one day and spots a free hiking trip. She shares it because of how pretty the Scottish highlands look.

To her utter surprise, she ends up winning the free hiking holiday. After much thought and impulse, she goes shopping for all the hiking equipment she needs. There is only one problem, she has NEVER gone hiking before and this hiking holiday is supposed to be for experienced hikers.

Anyway, she ends up travelling all the way from London to Scotland after two trains and a minibus and arrives for her hiking holiday. She meets seven strangers and after staying one night at the hiking lodge, off she’s goes hiking.

This is where the exciting, beautiful, thrilling, intriguing, screwed-up and astonishing, frightening hiking trip begins. One person sprains their ankle not able to walk, phones go missing, they end up going a different route to get Nicola back to safety and medical help. And the other hikers keep disappearing and found dead along with other bodies.

Who is the killer? Why? And What the hell is going on?

Honestly, this is such a gripping, psychologically mind screwing book with an immensely frightening and explosive ending.

Although this could be read as a standalone, I personally would highly recommend reading book one and two. This is just a tremendous series from two remarkable and extraordinary authors working together.

REVIEW
WOW, what an amazingly good ending to this awesome crime thriller series.
These authors saved the best for last.
What better way to let go of grief? Well for Grace it's entering a vacation giveaway.
I mean how bad can it be right? The Scottish Highlands, Hiking, Camping.
And she won't be alone, there are seven others attending also.
The kicker though is they are all strangers. I cringed yep, did you? I mean hello going away out into the wide-open space with seven folks you don't know?
Well grab the book and prepare yourself for one heck of a roller coaster ride.
And maybe a nightmare or two.
I personally loved loved loved this story!!! Well done.

I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed “ If I should die” by M.K.Farrar and M.A.Comley. It was Agatha Christie, and after a long, long time. A group of hikers with their team leader, starting out for what promises to be an exciting adventure amidst beautiful mountains and rivers, and glens. Bonfires, easy chats, huddling up in sleeping bags inside tents. All good fun, till it isn’t. Suddenly, things start disappearing, tents are mysteriously damaged, and then members from the group begin to disappear. What is happening? Who is the killer? Is it one of them?
Read to find out this delightful book.

What a scary, atmospheric read! 8 strangers on a hiking holiday completely isolated from civilisation. Loved the descriptions of the Scottish landscape but this also emphasised their complete isolation. When incidents start happening and things just get worse and worse, so the scariness sets in big time! Didn’t see that ending coming at all despite almost everyone being a suspect at some point!
A very different book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

have just finished this book and I can honestly say that I’ve never read such a captivating book for a long long time. The pages turned far too quickly for me with no idea which way it was going to turn.
What should have been an inaugural hiking and camping experience for Grace turned into a nightmare of epic proportions with people in her group being murdered one after another. Who is the murderer amongst them ? Who is he going to go for next ? Read to the very end to find out.

Great series

A wolf in sheep's clothing. You never know just who to trust. Those are the things I will take away from this series. This third book in the series will have your mind racing to figure out just who is the real Edward Swain. But be warned of you don't read book 1 & 2 the story will not make any sense. Good reading.

The joining of these two authors has produced a series of stories giving a peek into the killing mindset. It’s quite surprising to find such joy and entertainment from the hours of listening to these brilliantly twisty tales of how and what the killer mindset might be. Hooray for the team of MK Farrar and MA Comley; I hope they team up again.

I really liked how the story continued with each book and then came full circle. You’ll like these books. I enjoy both of these authors, and together they’re as good as they are alone.

The last book in the series and probably my favourite of all three. Atmospheric, tense and chilling. It's been a pleasure reading. What an ending! Farrar and Comley make a perfect partnership and put a great story together.
