Keeping the Peace: A shifter enforcer discovers his mate in a human whose connections make him question Fate’s plan.
As the owner of an authentic Irish pub, Sinjin Gallagher—Jin to his friends—thought he’d seen it all. That all changes when a huge bruiser of a man enters his establishment looking for one of his regulars. To Jin’s surprise, the guy isn’t there to cause trouble…but to stop it. What’s even odder is when he finds himself aroused by the man’s efficiency as he deals with that threat. As a pacifist, Jin doesn’t understand his unexpected desire.
Tideus Solverman runs across information that Councilman Goldstein would be attacked while eating at an Irish pub. As a council enforcer, it’s his duty to stop it. Even with the distraction of the hot pub owner—Jin, his mate—he gets the job done. Realizing his size and abilities intimidate Jin, Tideus still believes with a little patience and the mate-pull, he will prevail. Well, he does until a bit of information comes across his desk—it was Jin who told the rogues when the councilman would be there.
Can Tideus trust in Fate and get the answers he needs, or will he walk away and leave extracting the truth to an impartial enforcer?
This was a pretty good read once I got use to the Irish speaking. Sinjin "Jin" Gallagher owns an Irish pub when in walks a big brute of a man walks in but not to cause trouble. Tideus Solverman is a croc shifter who has just gotten info that Councilman Goldstein will be attacked while eating in the pub. Tideus works a a council enforcer and its his job to stop it. This was a pretty good read. Jin gets my mixed up in this because of his crazy abusive brother who I didn't like. When he kidnapped Jin Tideus comes to the rescue. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. The only thing I will complain about is the price.
Jin has had the worst luck with families. His brother is a self-centred asshat who thinks he is entitled to what ever he wanted. He passed that on to his wife and children. Jin has tried to stay away from him but never really makes it far. Then one night at his restaurant someone tries to kidnap another. The sexiest man shows up and things just seem to heat up for him.
Tideus walks in to help the other enforcers and has found his mate. A mate that might just be working with the rogues and helping plan the kidnapping of one of the councilmen. However things are not what they seem.
As always a fascinating tale with some unique shifters. I love the action packed story with a bit of fun times in it. The only issues I have is that you never get the full story. I want to know what happened to his brother and family, but it always stops just when you might get some answers. Other than that it was still a good read.
I enjoyed reading this and look forward to the next story. I can guarantee that it is the type of story that will be read many times over.
reread On an odyssey trip through the Stone Ridge World series in order. Almost 200 of them! Individually I usually rate them a 3/5 - there is only so much an author can do in a short story or novella, and because there are several overarching plots and each book has a mini plot that does not always get wrapped up - the individuals are okay as a stand alone. Some of them bomb and come in as 2/5 as they have holes. A few actually managed to hit 4/5. However; as a series binge they become a satisfying smorgasbord of reading.
Another sweet book in the shifter's world. This one had a fascinating twist where Jin, a human who is a shifter's mate, is a strong pacifist. His mate, Tideus, is an enforcer, so they seem opposites. It was a journey of figuring out if differing philosophies were truly incompatible or just different points of view. The two men sought to learn each other but not change each other and see if they could mesh their lives together. Very sweet!
The two main characters were very cute together and I enjoyed reading their story. Jin had a terrible family, especially his abusive brother. Luckily, everything was handled and I'm hoping that his brother got exactly what he deserved. The plot was interesting and the characters were fascinating (so many fun shifters) and I was never bored. Very titillating and gripping read.
I like the diversity of the different types of shifter and paranormal characters. The book is low angst and full of twists and turns. Most enjoyable read.
Sometimes I love the characters and like the story... this is one of those times!
Short and sweet! Well, except for Jin's asshole brother and family... and Tideus' kinda "violent" tendencies... but was pretty much a joy to read, and watching Jin and Tideus work through their differences and find love made it all worthwhile! 💖💖💖
Jin owned and ran an Irish restaurant. He got mixed up in shifter politics as a result of his brother using him , abused him and took advantage. He turned out to be a croc shifter’s mate and his life made a change for the better
