This art book has been something I was looking forward to read for a while and it was worth it for sure. A number of artists working in the industry go about drawing and their method of interpreting and making character art.

মাঝে কয়েকদিন ধরে এই বইয়ের বিজ্ঞাপন দিচ্ছিলো ফেসবুক। আগ্রহ ছিলো, ভাবলুম চেখে দেখি। কোন নির্দিষ্ট উদ্দেশ্যে না। দশ বারোজন ক্যারেক্টার ডিজাইনার ভিন্ন ভিন্ন টপিকে তাঁদের মতামত দিয়েছেন। নিজেদের তরিকা নিয়ে আলাপ করেছেন, উদাহরণ টেনেছেন। আঁকার ধাপ বর্ণনা করেছেন, আর্টিস্টিক সিদ্ধান্তের পেছনের কারণসহ। আঁকার ভেতরে শেইপের প্রভাব, রঙের প্রভাব, এসব ক্ষেত্রে নির্দিষ্ট কিছু বেছে নেওয়ার পেছনে যুক্তি। চরিত্রের বৈশিষ্ট্য থেকে চরিত্র কল্পনা করে আঁকা। বয়সের তুলনায় দেহ অবয়ব। বাস্তব মানুষ থেকে ক্যারিক্যাচার। চরিত্রের চলমান ভাব। মেলা টপিকেই আলোচনা পড়লাম। সহজবোধ্য। কিছু জিনিসের সাথে আমি পরিচিত। যেমন স্ট্রেচ/স্কোয়াশ তরিকা মোশন ডিজাইন থেকে সজ্ঞানে এবং টম এন্ড জেরি থেকে অজ্ঞানে জেনেছিলাম।
তবে এই বই অ্যাডভান্সড আঁকিয়েদের কাজে আসবে বেশী। আমি নাদান, আমার কেবল পড়াই সার। অবশ্য পড়ে ভালো জ্ঞানলাভ হলো। 😋

It really depends on what you're looking for in it. I picked up some new tips from some of the chapters, especially the earlier ones. Some of the chapters are simple demonstrations of an artist's workflow and I didn't find it that useful for developing my own characters. Overall an OK read.

this was a helpful and insightful guide but definitely not necessarily for an overall beginner to character drawing. but as someone trying to improve i did find it useful and helped me see progress in my drawing.
