Good story but the only thing that upset me was the resolution to the end argument. Shayna's need for Carmen's validation of what happened with Matthew seemed too trite. Maybe if she had decided to trust Matthew before she heard from Carmen I wouldn't of had a problem. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

Shayna bought a house knowing it needed some work on it but she wasn't expecting it to need so much work. When people in the town she's moved to tell her Mathew is the man to ask to help her with the construction on her house, she's not sure he's the man she wants because of all the rumors circulating about him. But when she can't find anyone else to do the repairs she doesn't really have a choice but to ask him.
The only problem is Shayna is a cougar shifter and Mathew is a wolf shifter and when they meet each other they realize not only are they total opposites but they are also mates. But because of the rumors, Shayna isn't willing to give Mathew a chance at first.
Once Mathew starts working on her house, they spend more time together and get to know one another and things start to heat up until there's some miscommunication that throws a monkey wrench into how close they're getting.
Poor Shayna has not had an easy life and she's not very trusting at all which makes it really hard to get close to her. But Mathew doesn't give up easily which is a good thing.
It took a while for these two to trust each other enough to get really close but I liked the way things ended.

Sexy sweet shifter short story! Shayna, a cougar shifter, needs her house fixed up, and Mathew, a wolf shifter, needs to make some money after a bit of a scandal with his job hosting a home repair show. They both know the other is their mate, but they don’t get off to a good start when they first meet. Shayna is a bit materialistic and high maintenance, and she uses her bad attitude to keep people from getting too close. She can come across as rude, so Mathew isn’t sure they are a good fit. Shayna had a bad experience in the past that has her living emotionally scared now; she has trust issues. Mathew’s scandal has her not trusting him, so there’s some push and pull going on which can get annoying.
They do have some good chemistry and Mathew is a total sweetheart. They have some sweet and steamy scenes! It’s fun to see a bit of some characters from the previous books in this series. Entertaining, quick shifter romance!

Living in a shifter town is new to Shayna. Here she's working for her Hot Rocker boss, who has just ventured out on his own so they can work here and live here. Her dream of owning an old victorian house is coming true—that is if she can find someone to do the endless repairs and upgrades. When the only man available also turns out to be her mate things should be wonderful. NOT. Been there done that. She was engaged to a man who broke her and she's not going there again,
Matthew has moved back to town as well. Pink Slipped from his famous reality construction TV show he has reasons to need the job Shayna has to offer. Why she's so testy is a question for him but not enough to skip the job.
Can they overcome their connection or will they just forget it? Can fated mates ever forget their other half? The story has likable characters, even if Shayna is a bit cranky to Mathew. Their friends are good people/shifters and should be great in future stories.

She is looking for someone to fix her home, not steal her heart. He is trying to rebuild credibility and get work. His wolf knows he has met his mate but the man is not so sure they are right for each other.

Awwwwww. Sweet, sexy, and an overall enjoyable read. It is easily read in one sitting and can also be read as a standalone.
Shayna is learning to deal with life in the not so fast lane but she wants her house renovated NOW. After losing his job on a successful home improvement show, Matthew needs a job. These two meet and they are butting heads. Shayna believe the rumors and closes herself off to the facts. Oh, one of those facts is they are mates. I loved the way this plays out. They need to get to know each other. Can she open her heart and her mind to Matthew?

Cougar Hearts Wolf is part of V.Vaughn's Heartland Shifters series. This book hits really close to home with me. After years of heartbreak and finding men to be selfish, Shannya finally find her mate. The past however, has a way of getting in the way. How does a person learn to trust, believe in love and give a part of themselves away after utter heartbreak? Mrs. Vaughn does a amazing job of showing her readers the benefit of taking a chance. Her characters are believable and relatable. Great job!

In a hometown of shifters, Matthew just wants to work and pay off bills. Shayna wants to work and be left alone. And as cougar and wolf shifters it seems unlikely Matt and Shayna will be a good fit. But fit they do. And now she's his boss, mate and confidant and he's just got to convince her it is forever. Delightful.

This is the fourth book in the Heartland Shifters series and we watch as Shayna gets use to living in a shifter town. After buying an old Victorian house she realizes that she is in over her head so hires a contractor to help with home repairs. A shifter romance where mates are forever. Even if you have to wait to find them and prove to them what love is. Shayna is a cougar shifter and now lives in a shifter town from her previous life in LA. Matthew is a wolf shifter that is returning home from a career that was destroyed by lies. Shayna doesn’t trust a man like Matthew but her need to have him save her house from falling apart pushes her to take the leap and hire him. From that moment on things won’t be the same for either of them.

Easy to read, these characters spring to life wonderfully and swiftly leads you through the challenges they face while trying to achieve happiness. Great read, this book had suspence and had me laughing also. The characters were short tempered but the passion won out. Love always win and in this shifter community reading the stories and rooting for the heroines, learning there story along the way. Can't wait to read the next book.

Shayna didn't believe she deserves a mate. So when she meets him she does everything possible to run him off. Matthew thought when you met your mate it would be easy. It is a lot of work.

Fun short fantasy! Wolf and cougar, can they get along? Will media judgements rein or can one's actions tell the real story? Enjoyed the way these answers are revealed. Good read. 3 1/2 stars.
