Patrick Miller cut off the only girl he’d ever loved, believing he had no other choice. More than a decade later, he’s never forgotten her. Now, he’s got a whole new life—but no room for love.
Arianna Cole loves her job and the children in the day care center she owns, but that’s the only love she’ll allow into her life—that she can allow.
But then the boy who was once her everything walks through the doors of her center.
With his son.
Patrick broke her heart right after she'd handed it to him, and she can’t go back. Her yearning for him still smolders, but it’s trapped behind twelve years of hurt.
Are Patrick and Arianna still in the wrong place at the wrong time, or are they fated?
WILL BE FEATURED ON THE READ ME ROMANCE PODCAST THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 10, 2020!
Stephanie Rose is a badass New Yorker, a wife, a mother, and lover of all things chocolate. Most days you'll find her trying to avoid standing on discarded LEGO or deciding which book to read next. Her debut novel, Always You, released in 2015 and since then she's written several more—some of which will never see completion—and has ideas for hundreds to come.
As soon as I listened to part 1 of Fated on RMR, I wanted it to be Friday so I could have part 2 in earbuds. This story has all my go-to tropes: friends-to-lovers, second chance, and single dad. I couldn't get enough and while I couldn't wait to listen to part 2 I also didn't want to start so the story couldn't end. Patrick and Ari are something special and I'll definitely be visiting them again.
You so rarely see single fathers in books, so that instantly warmed me to the mc. I liked the couples backstory and the interaction between them and his son. And I like that it's a second chance romance. But I never got really invested in them, individually or as a couple. I guess I wanted a little more character development.
I love Stephanie Rose’s writing and this was a cute and quick second chance romance. I wish there was more character development and tension but it was a good book.
It’s a shame this story was good that the narration was sub-par. The male narration was bad and his woman voice creeped me out. The female narration was better and good for this story.
Give me a couple of hours and a second chance romance written by Stephanie Rose, and I am there! Read Me Romance has Fated up and ready to listen to, and the story is so good, the time flew by! Arianna and Patrick were high school sweethearts, but when college came, they split never to speak to each other again. Being each other's first and that special bond never goes away. When Logan, Patrick's son walks through the day care doors, life for both is about to change. But can these two work through years of hurt and misunderstanding? It's fast, its fun and flirty, cautious and steamy! Narrated by Curt Bonnem and Kit Swann, the listen is so enjoyable, I loved every minute it! You will fall in love with Logan as you build lego and get to know this wonderful couple!
3 stars. Quickie review: This was another audiobook I listened to on the Read Me romance podcast. I enjoyed the story, in general, but did not like the narrators. The female narrator spoke in the most annoying baby voice for the child in the book. It sounded like a Muppet Baby cartoon character voice. The male narrator made the female voice annoying as well. The story was interesting, but I felt it was rushed and didn't feel love between the characters by the end.
Listened via the Read Me Romance podcast. This story was fine and had cute moments. I was never invested in their story though. The female narrator was very good, but the male one, not so much. His female voice was awful and I don't say that lightly.
I enjoyed this one, but I didn’t like the guy narrator. Not sure why. I will say I’ve only listened to a handful of stories so maybe I’m just simple not used to listening to stories. This is a second chance at love romance story.
Title: Fated Author: Stephanie Rose Format: Audio Narrators: Curt Bonnem, Kit Swann Genre: Romance - Second Chance, Single Dad, Friends to Lovers Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: No POV: Patrick and Arianna Steam Level: Warm 4/5
I listened to this book on the Read Me Romance podcast. While a super cute friends to lovers, second-chance, single dad romance I was distracted by Curt Bonnem's female voice. I know that this can be challenging for some male narrators and Curt Bonnem was no exception. I've listened to both narrators before but I feel like this just wasn't one of their best (either narrator). I liked the characters, I liked the story and backstory but the narration left a lot to be desired. I'm rating it a four, purely based on the story. Overall, I liked the story and it was a fun one that made me want to look up her other books but, of course, I definitely wanted an epilogue.
A sweet second chance romance. I think my only complaint was the narrator’s female impression and a few irritating lines. The whole quote about fate only taking you so far and the rest is up to you was a VERY similar line from the movie Can’t Hardly Wait. I know not every line can be original, but for some reason it irked me that it was practically a direct quote. Outside of that, I really loved this sweet story, maybe because it reminds me of me and my husband. Another good novella from the RMR podcast!
this would've been so cute and wholesome if there wasn't the whole underlying theme of blaming the kid's mom for not wanting a child???? the fact that this man literally told her she shouldn't get an abortion and then was so mad at her for "abandoning" the kid even though from the very beginning she said clearly that she did not want a child???????? i hated this. it was the worst way to create the single dad trope.
also i think i just hate second chance romance because he fucked up and she just forgave him for no reason. ew.
I give this a 3.5 out of 5. I have not read this author before. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Patrick and Arianna. I liked that this was a second chance story as well. I liked how Patrick was with his son. I loved that his son is really what brought them back together. I don't really believe in fate but stories like these make me want to. I would like to read more books by this author in the future.
this was such a sweet story and nice introduction for me to stephanie rose's writing. the young love between patrick and arianna was so sweet and tender that of course it carried through to adulthood. this story could have easily been longer and i would've welcomed it. i will certainly give stephanie rose another read.
A good second chance/friends to lovers romance. It was very well done especially considering it was an abbreviated podcast. Little Logan steals the show. Hopefully it will have an extra chapter or two when released.
OMG, the male narrator’s voice for the heroine and other character drove me batshit crazy. It was jarring. Male narrator is Curt Bonnem. His voice for the male hero was fine, it was just the other characters that killed me.
Listened to the book on Read Me Romance podcast. Not a big fan of the narrator’s female voice but it was a cute story. Second chance romance with a single dad is always a win. Fast read for one last book this month.
I listened to this audiobook on Read Me Romance Podcast. I find that audiobooks help when you're in a reading slump, which I'm slowly trying to get out of right now. I didn't really enjoy the plot and the characters were so so. Also, the narrator for the child was kind of disturbing :/
