Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.

First time author for me and I liked her imagination a lot.

Harper is a reporter that writes about feminism and female right and a avid supporter of female emancipation and independence. She wins a cruise ship holiday, a mysterious prize, but hey...who would refuse something like that especially after checking it and seeing its not a scam (or thats what she thought).

Cy is military and along with another 5 mates are stranded on this isolated island , but he does;t know how , when and under what circumstances they got there, but something is very wrong. Mans begin to get wild and feral and die, so now its only 3 left of them still fighting for survival without food and bear necessities.

During the cruise the ship stops at this island and Harper gets off to explore and she is left there. All of a sudden someone beats her and attempts to rape her but she is saved fortunately by Cy.

Cy is commanding and dominant towards Harper , and it takes a while for her to submit and follow his lead, but once she does they form a team and are inseparable.

All sort of strange things happen on this island that plays with their mind and puts in question their sanity , until a part o the truth is reviled at the end.

Their relationship and hunger for eachother ( hunger and urges that may or may not be "planted") grows into love. I suppose when your world , survival and protective instinct and sanity revolves around only one other person this can really happen in real life situation. So this two people really form a strong connection and depend on eachother. I really liked them both, and the sex scenes were very hot, they went at it everywhere and anytime ( what else is to do after you found shelter and food?).

Nowww ...we readers know from the beginning that this is sort of an experiment set in motion by the villains of this book, but we don't know why, I suppose I ll find that in the next book.

Overall , this has a very original idea to it. The suspense and the unknowing of what may come next is accelerating and refreshing.I wanted so bad they get rescued , or to find a way out but in the same time I was thinking as well as them if their relationship would be the same in normal circumstances, considering they are total opposites and have nothing in common.
The dom-sub theme is there , but not as dark as I thought it would be, which was good because I don't like very much bdsm themes, so you might say this has light bdsm in it like spanking and holding wrists and pulling hair.

Saftey: NOT safe , this might be considered dark (not for me tho, I ve read darker than this)

Okay i wanted to read this book and my friend told me few things so i wont go in blind. And i gotta say i did enjoy it. This is a duet!! Its darkish and savage. Also i put some of the triggers and spoilers below. It also ended in a cliffhanger. But since its pretty old its already out.

Harper is a reporter and a woman who stands up for womans rights and a feminist. She is confused that she won a trip. A trip she never even entered, but being pressed by a friend to take a vacation she does. She is upset she leaving her brother behind. But a vacation on a cruise line sounds magical. Until its not, confused and tackled by a savage man who tries to sexual assault her but is saved by another.

We meettt CY!!!! Like JH men he is very Alpha and alittle crazy also he does enjoy disciplining but i wonder was that because of the island or drugs?? since he been stranded on this island with 6 other army men but something on this island turned them against one another???  now he's protecting Harper from the rest of the men and well being stranded. As for Harper she's confused the island is playing some twisted tricks on them. And she really doesn't wanna eat snake or be killed.

Now the sexual tension is high and toss in few more punishments about saftey and some murder.. And drug like and mystery on who trapped them. So its pretty interesting.

Low angst, no ow drama sorta om drama (the guys who are on the island), Drama, sexy times, no virgins

First, let me advise potential readers of two things. One, this book contains a pretty graphic attempted rape scene at the beginning that may be triggers for some (and, no, the H does not perpetrate it; I can't believe I even have to say this). Two, this ends in a cliffhanger. As to the last, I'd like to say thank you, Ms. Henry, for not only clearly stating this in the blurb, but also telling us when the next will be published, which is in only two weeks. So many authors either don't tell readers this or wait so long to publish the next volume (many, many months in some cases) that I either lose interest or don't remember. I really appreciated that we got this information.

With this book, Ms. Henry has started a new series -- or at least a new two-volume -- about a "dom," Cy, who has been stranded on a deserted island and a "sub," Harper, who has arrived on said island under equally mysterious circumstances. Cy doesn't remember how he got there; Harper doesn't understand why the cruise ship she was on left her there. In addition, the island isn't what it seems: food disappears and reappears mysteriously; Cy's memories of his past life are hazy; and the atmosphere acts as a powerful aphrodisiac (okay, that last takes this book out of the realm of adventure and into erotica). As the two try to solve the mystery, they fall in love. And because this book is in this particular genre, some of their love takes the form of BDSM -- all of which is consensual, thank god.

Though I realize that I'm in the minority, I've very glad that Ms. Henry got out of the Bratva business; I found Cy much more likeable and sympathetic than I have any of her more recent doms for three reasons. One, I don't have to engage in an exhausting amount of cognitive dissonance to somehow find redeemable a man who kidnaps, steals, and murders for a living. Two, Cy is as much a victim here as Harper is; that is, he has also been put on this island against his will. In Ms. Henry's other books, the H's choose to behave the way they do. Finally, Cy is much less harsh than the other doms and he wins Harper's trust by saving her twice at the beginning. In the Bratva books, it was simply too unbelievable that the women who were kidnapped, beaten, and threatened with death would ever trust their captors. In this case, we understand why Harper has such faith in Cy.

In terms of character, both are likeable and strong. Cy is in the same vein as Ms. Henry's other Über-protective and -possessive heroes; Harper is resilient, carries her weight, and is not a brat (one thing I really appreciate about Ms. Henry's characters is that she does not write brats and, thank god, as I'd really like to see that particular trope go away).

In terms of plot, because of the prologue, we know what Harper and Cy initially don't: that there is someone controlling what happens on the island. Now, the prologue was so incredibly over-the-top that I nearly didn't continue reading. It features a man who bears a close resemblance to every single wealthy and powerful meglomaniac villain in the James Bond films, except that instead of seeking world domination, this man seems to want to make a point about dominance and submission (perhaps this will get less ludicrous in the sequel). Later on, however, the book gets less silly (I particularly enjoyed the descriptive details about the island and survival) and we do feel tension since we're never sure what will happen next.

In terms of writing, while the book is descriptive, it does feature Ms. Henry's trademark repetition. In both MC's dual povs, we hear endless ruminations about how he's afraid he's turning into an animal and how she needs to get back to her brother. And this did need one more edit as there were some inconsistencies (at one point, Harper's brother is referred to by a different name; Harper is bleeding and suddenly she's not, etc.).

Side Note: The guy on the cover is not my image of Cy: he's too young and too much of a pretty boy.

4 stars. I don't usually rate books with this much repetition this highly, but the narrative kept my attention; and I really, really, really appreciated that this was consensual (it's clear that both are satisfying a mutual kink), that Cy wasn't a Neanderthal, and that Harper wasn't a doormat.

Finally, to the reviewer who seems to be against feminism. So, here's the definition of feminism: "the belief in social, political, and economic equality between the sexes." So, for example, anyone who believes that women shouldn't earn less than men because of their gender is a feminist. And anyone who believes that women should earn less than men is not a feminist. I'm assuming you have a job? Would you like to earn less than your male co-workers? If so, then, you're not a feminist (and, to prove that, I strongly suggest you go talk to your boss about a reduction in salary, stat!). In addition, the next time you vote (if you do), then remember that you have that right only because of those "feminists" you belittle.

It seems I forgot to write this review...

As an uber-alpha story, I liked it a lot. The sex scenes were hot, and the challenges of living alone felt real. I liked the subtle reminders that the situation was not completely natural. I also enjoyed how he appreciated her as she became stronger.

As this was clearly announced as a duet, the abrupt ending didn't bother me much.

Harper wins an all inclusive cruise, which seems too good to be true.

Savage Dom is unlike anything I have read in probably ever. Savage Dom keeps you on your toes, nothing is what it seems, at one point I thought everyone was in a simulator but that got thrown out by the end of the story. I was at my wit's end trying to figure this story out and then it ended in a cliffhanger (which I knew was going to happen) so I am still trying to figure it out.

Jane always draws you into whatever world she creates but Savage Dom is different. This isn't your normal romance where the characters meet, fall into bed, and we get romance. This story has so much more in it that you will be scratching your head wondering what can possibly happen next.

I can't wait to dive into Savage Love. Thank god it isn't a long wait!

New author for me, but didn't really care for this book. I couldn't connect with either character. The only redeeming light for this one in my eyes was the developing relationship between Cy and Harper. Some smutty scenes, but fairly tame in comparison to what I normally read.

Insert all the expletives you could possibly use after reading a mind-blowing book. Of course, with Jane Henry, this is no big surprise. Savage Dom is the first book in her two book Savage Island Duet.

From the beginning of the book, you know something fishy is about to happen. A man named Finley Morose and his military partner, have cooked up a scheme, an experiment. The final part is a woman, and they’ve found her.

Harper is a journalist who writes about women’s rights and feminist issues. She also has guardianship of her 15 year old brother, who became brain damaged in an accident that took their parents. She thinks she’s won an all expenses paid cruise. But things are just too good to be true when she’s left on an island inhabited by men who haven’t seen a woman in years. And things aren’t quite what they seem on the island. But….you’ll have to read this for yourself, and trust me, you want to! 5 Stars? Can I give more?

Wow. This was a wild ride. From the start we know something is up and then we meet both Harper and Cy and I couldn’t help but love them. They were thrown together and I loved seeing them survive together. They didn’t give up. There is a huge mystery to this story and I’m still clueless on what twists are going to come up on the next book. It’s something high and I can’t wait to see what it is. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Oh, Jane Henry, what have you done to me? This book is dark and deviant. I loved every single second of it.

Harper is really interesting with the changes that she goes through during the book. There are all kinds of changes in her life. I think that some of them are good for her.

Cy has definitely been through some things, and I think that there are a lot of not good things that he went through.

The next part of this series is going to be fantastic, I know it.

Otay so I wasn't sure how I felt about this book for a minute... I kinda liked Harper but struggled with her thinking. Cy comes off kinda crazy when we first meet him but he's in the wilderness forever and has no sense of time or what's really happening. Cy saves Harper when someone attacks her but there is still danger all around. Its definitely survival of the fittest and will these two end up together? This will keep you on your toes for sure.

Wow!!! This story just pulled me in. There are twists and turns and you never know what to expect. It's like a combination of Survival and Hunger Games and that just makes it click for me! I can't really say a whole lot because I don't want to give the story away but it does end of sort of a cliff hanger. The second book will be released shortly so there won't be that long of a wait. Just get the book!!! Ms. Henry has done an outstanding job of creating a world that is outstanding!!

Wow. I really enjoyed this book. The plot us strong and keeps you engaged. I'm not impressed with how much a feminist the h is in the beginning.
But she soon changes her way of thinking.
I know this is an ARC but I really really hope this book gets a good proofread. It was definitely enough to distract a reader.
I read an advanced copy of this book.

❤~🌟~❤ 4.5 PRIMAL STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“I’m the predator and she’s the prey.”

I am OBSESSED with survival romances and SAVAGE DOM by Jane Henry about two castaways who are mysteriously stranded together on a remote caribbean island was absolutely mesmerizing!

PREMISE:
Harper Lake, a fiercely independent journalist who has devoted her career to championing women’s rights, ends up in dire straits after she wins an all-inclusive cruise vacation but gets left behind on a deserted island! However, when all seems lost, she finds an unlikely savior in Cy, a gruff, growly military operative who has no clue how he ended up in this island but all he knows is that something is definitely amiss. Strange things are happening and his gut tells him they are being watched. But by whom? And now after witnessing four others castaways die before his eyes he’s not about to let this ornery, defiant beauty die on his watch! As a man who commanded army of men, he’s deeply dedicated to discipline and order and is used to being obeyed. And has little tolerance for this haughty, mouthy beauty who doesn’t have a clue how to survive on this island, but at the same time, she poses a challenge that tantalizes him more than he cares to admit.

Meanwhile, this bearded brute's bossy, overbearing ways goes against all of Harper’s feminist ideals, yet she needs this big, strong cavemen’s finely honed survival skills to keep her alive! And when they reluctantly team up to get to the bottom of the happenings on the island, and hopefully find their way OFF of it, their sizzling friction erupts into raw, primal passion! But can Cy keep them both safe from the sinister danger that runs amuck on their tropical island “paradise”?

MY MUSINGS:
This wildly addictive, brilliantly penned first installment in the Savage Island duet is teeming with steamy romance, palpable tension, spine chilling suspense, adrenaline pumping drama and intrigue, and RAW, UNBRIDLED sensual interludes! While not necessarily dark in my opinion, it was chock full of adrenaline pumping twists and turns and I was totally entertained from start to finish!

Ms. Henry’s writes the most scintillating erotic romances and Harper and Cy’s chemistry is COMBUSTIBLE! Their attraction is primal. Explosive. And defies all reason. I found their animalistic sexcapades deliciously titillating, and as always, this author intertwines highly arousing power exchanges with aching, exquisite emotion that leaves you breathless and PANTING for more.

EEEP! Cy is an unapologetic alpha male TO THE MAX. Big and brutish, with a heavy hand yet a ferociously protective and gentle side too, he will make you quiver and swoon aplenty! And Harper brings out his possessive, fiercely doting nature. He not only wants to dominate, punish and spank her to tears, but with all the strange, inexplicable things transpiring on the island, he will not hesitate to lay down his life to shelter this fragile creature.

As for Harper, she’s a wonderfully spunky heroine and certainly no helpless female! She’s a bit of a control freak who has worked her entire life defending the plight of repressed women yet in an ironic twist of fate she finds herself being rescued and then bossed around and kind of manhandled by this barbaric “ogre.” There is just something about this SAVAGE DOM that awakens her submissive side and has her secretly craving his domination. And as time goes on, all consuming feelings spark between them as she finds a perverse pleasure in being subjected to Cy’s stern consequences when she pushes his buttons by daring to defy him.

These two are clearly polar opposites in every way but circumstances have drawn them together and their red hot attraction cannot be contained! And as the story unfolds, an unbreakable bond is forged between these two unlikely allies who are forced to rely on each other for their very survival. Ms. Henry does a spectacular job with the stranded island plotline that has these protagonists falling in love amid unspeakable odds as they stave off starvation and try to solve the shadowy mystery of how they ended up on the island ...and why. As their sexual tension reaches a fever pitch so does the danger and subterfuge, and I was truly on pins and needles throughout trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Oh and it ends on a CLIFFY so make sure you dive into SAVAGE LOVE right away!

THE NARRATION:
Read to us by one of my favorite male narrators, D.C. Cole, he truly breathes life into this mind-bending survival romance! His deep, growly voice and commanding inflections embodied Cy’s macho alpha male, take no prisoners persona to a T. He was feral and predatory yet also sweet and nurturing, and he did a wonderful job seguing into the female role of Harper too! I could truly listen to Mr. Cole narrate the phone book and would be transfixed! His magnetic performances never fail to make me tingle from head to toe. Bottom line? He did an incredible job with this first installment and I can’t wait for him to sweep me off my feet again in book two.

Highly recommend!

Amiral Cy Kaufman et Harper Lake
Navy SEAL americain et Journaliste au Times

Finley Morose
Jay Hunter (ami de Finley, militaire)
Malorie (amie de Harper)
Daniel (petit frère de Harper, 15 ans)

_________

Un huit clos de drame, d'aventure.
Belle plume.

Absolutely AMAZING, sensuously suspense-filled with non-stop action romance you MUST BUY/READ!!
SAVAGE DOM knocked my socks off! I read it until I fell asleep, then woke with my glasses on and my Kindle in my lap! Of course, I kept reading until this amazing romance brought me through some of the best mystery writing I have ever read. Readers will ride the emotional roller-coaster as Harper and Cy do their best to survive the dire straits in which they find themselves. And the fierce winds we had last night just added to the rattled nerves created by the tale of Cy’s and Harper’s story. I promise, SAVAGE DOM is so full of romantic suspense, it’s difficult - if not impossible - to put down. While I was going out of my mind with the suspense, the romance kept me grounded. Combined, they are so riveting I have totally ignored my Fitbit yelling at me to move . . . but I can’t move . . . gotta’ read one more chapter! While this romance definitely makes the suspense nerves jiggle and the girly bits tingle, it is also sprinkled with just the right amount of angst and includes all of the feels that romance readers demand. Written in author Jane Henry’s enticingly elegant and detailed filled prose, SAVAGE DOM will not only keep mature readers (18 yrs. and older) on the edge of their seats and glued its pages, they will fall for Harper and Cy and root for their “happily ever after” (HEA)! Now, about that HEA. SAVAGE DOM is the first part of a DUET, but I have been promised that the second part will go live before you’ve forgotten who Cy and Harper are and why they are in the predicament in which we find them. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY!!! While I volunteered to read a copy of SAVAGE DOM, and have already VOLUNTEERED to read SAVAGE LOVE, I will be purchasing a copy of both novels to put them in the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. My HONEST and VOLUNTARY review is 5+STARS but I so wish I could award more stars!! SAVAGE DOM is the perfect mix of darkness, romance, suspense, mystery, adventure, and kink. It’s a total testament to author Jane Henry’s writing skills that she has woven those together so wondrously, so magnificently that readers will fly through this easy-to-read novel and return to real life dazed and wondering what took so long? That is a true sign a book is GREAT – readers consume it so quickly they lose track of everything else. SAVAGE DOM is GREAT reading, and I STRONGLY suggest that you purchase your copy of SAVAGE DOM today! Happy pages! 😉

I looooove Jane Henry's books. A LOT. Several of them are all time faves that I love to reread. A LOT.
But although I looked forward to this duet, I found myself somewhat disappointed. Just somewhat.
Not the writing, that is excellent IMO, as always.
The wonderfully smooth flow that swirls the reader into the story effortlessly.
And I found with this one I felt the tropical heat, the humidity, heard the rustling of the trees (palms), the waves breaking on the shore, felt Cy & Harper's desperate fight to survive.
But.
What I found myself slightly disppointed by was Cy's character. I truly did not find him 'savage'. To others on the island, yes, but to Harper, not much. At all. I was expecting (based on the title & book description), a Dom much like Adrian in Ms. Henry's book 'Island Captive'. Not savage per se but much more intensely dominating & structured in his domination of the heroine. And while Cy does impress on Harper that he's in charge & does offer some corporal punishment of her fanny, he is much more focused on the romance of their relationship.
Now, I say this again based on MY PERSONAL expectations of the book via the title, description & my experience with reading 'Island Captive'.
And, overall I liked Harper (h) but I personally got tired of the continual references to how she could defend herself against nearly feral ex-Spec Ops males that hadn't seen a woman in many, many months & almost every other situation/danger that came up. It just seemed too much as though impressing on the reader how tough & resilent Harper was supposed to be.
Now, if this sounds like I didn't like this series: I did like it. Enough to buy & read the 2nd one in order to find out how things ended up. But I know I would have enjoyed it MUCH MUCH more if I'd understood that Cy wasn't a *Dom* but was a dominant male take charge Alpha determined to survive & protect the woman he finds & comes to love.
So, if the reader wants that, this is an excellently written story of a dominant Alpha who subsumes his humanity in order to survive & then, due to love, begins to recover that human portion of himself he cast aside. As well as a strong, resilent woman of today who learns that submitting sometimes, in some ways, to the right person, is the thing she wants to do.
There is danger, steam, love, loyalty, villain(s) the reader hates & an H/h the reader roots for in this tense romance.

WHAT HAS THIS ISLAND DONE TO ME?

Well, Ms. Jane Henry has spun an on-the-edge-of-your-seat, out of the ordinary, fascinating tale and I’m hooked and ready for book two, Savage Love, due out February 13th. Cy, ‘Something isn’t right, but my mind won’t work right to help me piece together how I ended up here, what happened before the six of us landed on this island—and then one-by-one, strange things started happening, and we started losing men as they became feral. Now, a ship for a short period of time and a female are on the island. The ship leaves her behind—and for her, that is dangerous.’

The story isn’t fantasy island, because it is a freaking tale of nightmares, one day, food is here and plentiful, the next day, the food is gone. Men changing, lives lost, and when she shows up, there are still three of us, but not for long. We aren’t men anymore; we are more like wild beast. When one tries to attack her, I can’t let it happen—when I see her, she becomes mine and I must protect what is mine. I will dominate her and she will submit.

“When her eyes flashed at me and dared to defy me, I imagined her strewn over my lap, bucking and kicking while I held her down and spanked her to tears. I want to dominate this woman. Punish her. And the harder she pushes against me, the more insistent the urge becomes.”

“I own you now, Harper. You need a real man to take care of you. You need to be put in your place. I think if you’d let me take care of you, you’d like it more than you know,” he says.”

OMG, I don’t want to give anything away, just be prepared for a wild, unexpected ride as nothing is as it should be. How several people are fighting for survival, and only the fittest will survive. Cy and Harper are together—for now? But what is going on? How did they end up here on this island, and where is this island?

The two stories must be read in their written order as this is a saga. The story is danger, life and death, mystery and suspense, unnatural occurrences, and a test of will and endurance. The chemistry between Cy and Harper is like a magnetic force bringing them together. With her a feminist, she has acquiesced to his dominance, accepting his spankings, and submitting to his demands—who has she become? What will happen, and who is responsible for what is going on? Will they find a way off the island? What will happen to them if they do?

If you scare easily, you might want to make sure it is daylight when you read
Savage Dom.First off, I do not like scary stories but it was the fact that I have
read other books by Jane Henry that i just loved that led me to this dark,
mysterious romance.

The book kept me completely riveted.I had to finish it.I had to know what was
happening and why.Ms Henry writes in manner that captivates you and doesn't
let you go.There is terror ,mystery ,blood ,violence and romance.

Harper Lake is a journalist and champion of women’s rights, she is suspicious when
she wins a two weeks cruise. This is where the secrets really start to begin.Harper is
left behind on an island where she is attacked by one of six men who were also left
on the same island Cy Kaufman is one of only three of the men left alive. They are
savage and brutal.Turning on each other just to survive. Cy saves Harper's life but in
the process kills the man attacking her.The mystery of how he came to be on the
island is only one of the happenings Cy needs to remember. He is used to being obeyed.
He wants to dominate Harper. He will punish her.Harper initially fights him but the raw
sexual attraction is too strong She learns to crave his power dominance.

The strength in this book lies with the relationship between Cy and Harper.Despite the
odds being against them, they manage to grow close and fall in love.Thay have feelings
that are believable .Their thoughts suck you in. Cy's continual need to protect Harper was
a constant theme throughout the book.Harper's inner strength shone through as she
learnt the pleasure of submitting to Cy.The plot never lets you go or take a breath.

If you enjoy mystery, suspense, danger, romance and so much more? Then you will be on the
edge of your seat.I have already pre-ordered the next book in this series.

4 1/2 stars - part 1 of 2 with an air of mystery

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

This contains elements of BDSM, such as spanking, restraints, consensual and non-consensual acts, and lots of violence. If you are not into stories of this type, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.

Here is a high level recap of how the story begins:

This is about Cy, a Navy Admiral and former Seal, and Harper, a reporter for The Times, that have been stranded on an island. It contains an overall arc of mystery (how they got there, why they were placed and left, who keeps stealing the food, why can’t he remember his past, etc.).

Cy has been there for an unknown amount of time. In the beginning he was 1 of 6, but several have died or been killed. He doesn’t remember a lot but has started to have some come back to him. He has regressed into more of a savage, with his more primal instincts guiding him.

Harper is an investigative reporter and has guardianship of her younger brother since her parents were killed in an accident. Her brother was injured and suffered brain damage, so he is now living in a state funded center. She receives a package notifying her that she won a 2 week cruise, but is reluctant to take it, until convinced by her BF. Then several days into her cruise, she goes on an island excursion. She is attacked and almost raped, before another unkept guy stops it.

Harper tries to get away, but before she knows it, the cruise ship has left and she is now stranded ...

I am going to stop there so I don’t accidentally provide any spoilers.

This story has a couple of grammatical issues (mainly an extra word or repeated phrase). It does end on a cliffhanger of sorts with a HFN. I am looking forward to the second part, as so far it has been a good “whodunnit”.

Savage Dom is the first part is the Savage Island duet. When Harper receives a letter in the mail telling her she won an all expenses paid cruise, she jumps on the chance, even though she’s a little hesitant. But when one of the stops is to an idyllic island, she gets left behind and needs to fend for herself. Cy has been on the island for longer than he can remember, feels pieces of himself slipping away, but when he sees Harper, a primal urge snaps into place. But things on the island are not what you’d expect. Will Harper and Cy ever make it off the island?

Oh. My. Goodness! My a mind trip! Harper and Cy completely stole the show, and you get wrapped up in their connection that you tend to forget how it all started. While you as the reader might know more than the two main characters, you often ask yourself what’s really happening, or is there something in the air?! Harper is so much stronger than I gave her credit for, and so much braver than I would be in her situation. She doesn’t run screaming, accepts and makes the best of what’s going on, and I love the connection she feels to and around Cy. Think of the best mountain man/survivalist, mix with a military background, plus add in almost Omegaverse urges, and that’s what makes me think of Cy. He’s protective, possessive, smart, so dominant, and on the verge of being savage, but how he treats Harper makes up for any of his brutish nature. I absolutely loved this book! There’s so much going on and so many questions left unanswered, I really look forward to finishing this duet!

Dark, dirty, sexy, mysterious

Savage Dom: A Dark Romance (Savage Island Book 1)
By Jane Henry

This is my first book by this author and I must say even if this wasn't a two part book I would been looking forward to reading another book by her.
I just knew something amiss was going to happen from beginning. The two creepy men talking about how many men were left and if they were ready and if they were feral. Then the main man said he found the perfect woman for his life long experiment.
Harper Lake is a journalist who writes about women’s rights and feminist ideals. She works hard and tries hard to take care of her brother who is dependent on her and a medical team. She receives notice that she won an all-inclusive cruise. She wasn't going to take it until her co-worker convinces her to go and that her brother would be fine while she's gone. She's on the ship when they stop at an island where she gets off to explore. Little did she know she would be fighting for life in more ways than one.
Admiral Cy Kaufman US Navy SEAL was one of six men that were basically abducted, drugged and abandoned on the island left to survive. Only the strongest will survive.
Strange things are happening on the island, urges, desires, wildlife, even the weather seem to be manipulated. What is real and what are the mind playing tricks? Secrets, lies and betrayals are uncovered.
This book ends with a cliffhanger. Savage Love is the final book and is available now.

Harper Lake has won an all expenses paid cruise that she doesn't even remember entering the contest. When she goes onto an island to take pictures and look around, she suddenly realizes her cruise ship has disappeared and she is now alone. After being attacked by the feral man she finds out was Derek, Cy comes to her rescue and kills the man. Derek and Cy are two of the three men remaining of the original 6 that were dropped onto the island, 6 men programmed to dominate and rule but they turned on each other due to the mysterious happenings on the island. Will is another man left but he is being kept from Harper by Cy. There are many unusual happenings on the island that cause confusion and mayhem at times. Nothing makes sense but there is no escaping it for our survivors. As Harper and Cy develop feelings for each other and have very kinky sexy encounters, there are still observers and mysteries around with no logical answers. I can't wait to real more about Harper, Cy and of course what will happen with Will too, but that will have to wait until Savage Love releases. Although this book ends without all the answers, I am satisfied with the HFN ending.

Savage Dom
Savage Island Duet, Book 1
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: D.C. Cole

Being stranded on a deserted island can't be all bad, can it? Harper is left stranded on an island when the cruise ship she is on leaves her behind. Is she alone? Cy has been on the island for an undetermined amount of time and saves her from a brutal attack. Now together, these two experience the inexplicable happenings around them. Will they find food? Where are the other men who were left with Cy? Why would the cruise ship leave Harper behind? And what will happen to them? Jane Henry has masterfully crafted the first part in this duet with a sense of thrilling suspense and arousing desire. The island is like paradise in one instance and is perilous in the next, but the chemistry between this alpha male and submissive woman never falters. It's hot, thrilling and leaves you wanting book 2!

Read to us by DC Cole, the story comes to life. Cole has a voice for every character. He has a delicious rasp to his voices that lends Cy that dominant feel and can easily transition to the female Harper in an instant. I can't wait til we hear him in the conclusion of this duet!

Great new meme!
Obviously, this book is a fantasy of meeting your dream dom on an beautiful island where the two of you can let go of all of your inhibitions.
I could not give this book more praise for hitting all of the notes.
The author puts a strong woman and self proclaimed feminist in a situation out of her control who has to submit to the sexiest dom alive or she will die due to the elements. (Great writing technique to give an excuse for a string woman to give up control without it being her fault.) So the feminist woman, although she is feminist to the core, and even tries to fight off 2 rapists, has to rely on a stern dom to protect her. Wow. This is a great way to live out a fantasy of being both a strong, independent woman but, having to submit to a dom despite being a strong woman but, end up being a feminist after all.
There was a TV commercial in the 1970s about a strong woman who could "bring home the bacon but, still make you feel like a man." Well, this story is about a woman who still wants to be a feminist, but wants to quake in her vacation sandals when she meets a hottie dom.
Great meme and well written!

Wow! Savage Dom is very different from most of Jane Henry's books. It isn't a Bratva story. It really isn't a Dom story. It is a story about survival and what brings out someone's most basic instincts. Harper is a busy career woman. She's a journalist and legal guardian of her disabled adult brother. She wins a surprise cruise which she questions greatly but her friends encourage her to take the well deserved vacation that she needs. What she doesn't know is that she is part of something very wrong. She is left stranded on an island where Cy is one of a few naval survivors. He has known that something is very wrong with this island paradise and Harper is an unknown surprise addition. These two unlikely people will have to work together to survive the days and try to piece together why they ended up together and why strange things keep happening on this so called paradise. I won't spoil the story by saying anything more but I read this in one day and I need answers! Looking forward to the second half of this duet.
