Devil’s Nightmare MC Series, Book 1
7 hrs and 18 mins

CROSS is a full-length, standalone first book in a steamy and suspenseful new MC Romance series - Devil's Nightmare MC - by Lena Bourne. No Cliffhanger, HEA Guaranteed!

Cross

I'm the guy whose name brings fear into the hearts of even the hardest men. They call me Cross, because I've killed enough men to fill a cemetery, and I never saw any problem with that. Until a woman I hardly remember brought my eleven-year-old daughter that I didn't know existed, to my doorstep and left her for me to take care of.

At first my daughter was a complication I didn't need, but now I'll do everything I can to raise her right. I'll even stay away from her hot-as-sin guidance counselor Roxanne, who makes me feel like I'm twenty again, and not pushing forty. Which isn't to say I wouldn't show her what a real man can do with a woman like her.

Roxie

My father was the president of an outlaw MC, and until I turned twenty-one a world of bikers, mayhem and crime was all I knew. Then a rival gang destroyed it all, killed my family and everyone I held dear, and made me the property of a brutal, ruthless man. I ran away, got an education, and haven't looked back.

Now I'm the guidance counselor at a small town junior high school, my old life so far behind me it might as well be someone else's past, and I was happy to leave it there. But then I met Cross, the bad boy biker father of one of my wayward students. He makes me yearn for the life I lost, crave all the excitement that used to be my everyday. Makes me want to be a bad girl again, if only for one night.

But I won't go down that road again. It doesn't lead anywhere good.

Devil's Nightmare MC is biker romance novel, which contains steamy sex scenes and deals with disturbing themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers. Intended for 18+ audiences.

This is a heart pounding rendition of your past catching up with your present. Cross having the love for his daughter does all he can for her. When he meets the guidance counselor at her school he can't believe it's the same woman from the other day. He wanted her then and he wants her even more now. Roxie seeing Cross in the front of her school brings back memories of a life since past. Her attraction to him is instant. The chemistry is off the chain hot. Cross will do anything for the women in his life. A real example when she told him the truth of who she once was.

Cross is a typical MC romance. That dangerous hero, damsel in distress heroine, dark plot and the rival MC plot.

While listening to the audiobook, I keep waiting to be blown away or be surprised. Or even lost myself on the writing. Miss Bourne sadly short of expectation.

I got bored in the middle of the book. And something is nagging on me. The daugther of the hero seems missing from the story. Missing means Miss Bourne does not involved her character toward the story.

First book by this author. It was a great read. I liked Roxie she was interesting and her story pulled you in. She went through a great deal and wanted to help others. She wanted to help Lily and that is where a big plot hole appeared and my 5 star went to 4. She started off well, but then Lily's story got lost and Roxie was having sex with Cross. We never heard of Roxie actually counseling Lily or really talking to her till the very end. It was almost like once Cross and Roxie got together, Roxie totally forgot about her job.

The sex was hot. I liked Cross didn't have to hate him first. There is some MC action, but there was another jump on plot at the end where we kinda got left with a gap in the plot.

It is a good read though. I read till I was done. Will read the next one for sure.

Firstly, for the love of god, can we ban the name ‘Tank’ from all future MC reads? It’s got to be the most impressively unoriginal name in the history of this genre!!

That aside however, this was enjoyable read, but it’s not your typical adrenaline packed MC story.

The story is centred around Cross, President of Devil’s Nighmare MC and his eleven year old daughter, Lillie. Lillie’s acting up at school and her new Guidance Counselor, Roxie catches Cross’s eye.

Roxie’s just started a new job at a school and is on the run from another MC who slaughtered her own family of bikers years before. She’s drawn to Lillie and Cross instantly due to her own past and partly because Cross is, well, hot.

Whilst this is an MC read, the club is secondary to the storyline between Cross, Lillie and Roxie. The author throws us some small background scenes incorporating some of the club’s activities but only tidbits. There were also a few (predictable) twists along the way, but I liked the characters and the story had enough about it to keep me interested.

Cross is pretty delicious too, which helped.

Meh. Writing is a little cheesy and juvenile and the characters are weak. It's still kind of ok?? I'm more of a 2.5 but I rounded up to 3.

Roxie (school guidance counselor) lost her entire family when a rival MC took them out. She's been under the radar ever since and has a new life. She has one problem student, whose father happens to be the president of a local MC. Cross (MC Prez) barely remembered the woman he hooked up with until she dropped their 11-year-old daughter on his doorstep. Now he's hot for teacher, and he's an utterly shitty father. Cross and Roxie have a lot of sex, he loves her, his daughter acts like a kid (understandable), a bad guy comes back, Roxie thinks Cross betrayed her, Roxie gets scared and leaves, Cross says "fuck her" and leaves, yada yada - the end.

First - the MC only had men in the clubhouse. No other women AT ALL in the MC. No old ladies or anything. It was so weird. Then - she's supposed to be the counselor for the daughter who has some issues - and Roxie just fucks the dad and never really tries to help the daughter. The girl is drawing pictures of dead babies, and you don't think you should discuss that with her dad????
I'm not impressed by this.

AUDIO: Aiden Snow narrates and he's sexy. Stephanie Rose narrates and she SUCKS.

Cross was the first book in the Devil’s Nightmare MC by Lena Bourne. It was a spin off from Bourne’s Viper’s Bite MC series; however, it was not necessary to have read the original series first.

Cross was the President of the Devil’s Nightmare MC. We met him in the last book of the Viper’s Bite MC series as a strong, powerful and ruthless leader. He also recently became a single dad to a pre-teen daughter, Lily, he never knew existed. Unknown to him, she had his personality, which meant he had frequent visits to her school. Enter Roxie.

Roxie was the new guidance counselor at Lily’s school and she saw herself in Lily and was determined to help her. It didn’t hurt that Lily’s father was sexy as sin and reminded her of the good parts from the tragic past she left behind six years ago.

No spoilers since all of that was in the book description; but then Bourne took us through the introduction, attraction, past revelations, MC conflicts, relationship development and surprise twists. It was suspenseful and entertaining.

I loved Roxie. She was fierce, strong, independent, sassy and sexy all wrapped into one. Cross was an alpha biker who was rough around the edges and didn’t instill the warm and fuzzies, pretty much what you’d expect.

Bourne also set the stage for the series by revealing the personalities of the MC brothers and what can be expected throughout the series. It was a fast and enjoyable read. The resident cook, Tank, is up next.

My first book by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more.

I listened to CROSS in audible, the narration was good and I got a good feel for the characters and the action.

As MC romance goes, this fulfilled everything I love about them.

Action, drama, hotness, danger.

When Roxie's father and her family are killed along with the rest of the MC by another MC, she runs and is determined to start again and leave that life behind her.

6 years later Roxie starts a new job working at a School as a guidance Councillor, she works with problematic pupils, this is when she comes across her new case, a young girl all the teachers have given up on, the daughter of an MC President.

Cross and Roxie are drawn to each other like magnets, they argue, she doesn't back down, Roxie has been used to men like Cross most of her life and she isn't intimidated by him, they have chemistry, she fascinates him they are both drawn to each other, its hot and they begin seeing each other.

After vowing to stay away from the MC life Roxie needs to decide if she wants to go with her heart or head and if she tells Cross who she really is and all about her past life.

I enjoyed it, I felt there were some info missing re Cross's daughter, why she acted up, why she had dreams, maybe it was in a previous book? I don't know but it all needed tying together, the puzzle pieces didn't make a bigger picture in the end with some things but I would read more in this series.

3.75 stars for me. This is the first book I have read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised with the unique approach and her writing skills. That's not to say I didn't have some problems with the book. At times the dialogue just didn't seem to fit the story about a hard core 1% MC. Then there was the restored old mansion where one of the patch holders had to cook meals and serve them in a formal dining room. Cross meets Roxie when she becomes his daughter's school counselor. Lilly, the daughter, is a troubled child, one that Cross didn't know he had until her mother left her with him as a pre-teen. Once Roxie and Cross meet, Lilly becomes a secondary character. I did like Cross as the H in this story. He was hard but then soft. Roxie is a strong heroine who is secretly running from a rival club of her deceased father. Cross thinks she would never fit into his lifestyle but the truth comes out that she was raised in an MC. I will read the next story in this series. I highly recommend this one if you like MC romances and are looking for something outside of the usual MC romance fare.

Let me just say that I had started this series backwards. I've read book 2 first but the need to see how this series started left me wanting to grab this book and devour it in no time but other book were pilling up and this one just got forgotten but now I'm done. I must read it and seek for the answers I've been waiting for.
Lena Bourne is the bomb writting MC books. Each book grabbed my attention in a sec and I couldn't put it down...
Her writing is hot and wild, raw and dark, steamy and powerful. But don't let this fool you because the suspense and the unknown are there to. Just go for it.
Cross is the book that I'm talking about. It's the first book from the Devil's Nightmare MC series and you can't miss this.
This book explores the lifes of Cross and Roxie.
Cross is the President for the Devil's Nightmare MC. He's a single dad that makes his life goal to raise his daughter the best way he can away from all the dangers but being in an MC environment isn't easy.
Roxie saw her world crumbling down the day her dad was murdered and her bother went missing.
She was obligated to run and after 6 years she feels incomplete but that's life for her now. She finally got a job as a Guidance counselor at junior high. And...
And this book was the perfect beginning to an amazing series. I've started this backwards because I've read book 2 and 3 first. But this book oh boy...
The plot is amazing, very well written, super engaging with a touch of suspense and darkness. The way the story progressed made me mad, or scared, or hot. It was a mist of feelings that made my day.
Get ready for some steaming hot scenes that will melt your panties...
Once I started it I couldn't put it down. I wanted to keep reading and reading until I had all answers.
Amazing book Lena and I can't wait for the next ones.

Loved this book. I always enjoy MC books and this was one of the better books I have read in awhile.
The author gives great character development and all the background you need to understand what is happening to Roxie, Cross and Lily.
As I was reading I could fell the heartache and loneliness Roxie was going through from the beginning of the book almost to the end.
You could picture Lily rolling her eyes at everyone and just trying to get her father's attention and being scared that she might loose him.
Cross is a strong alpha who's heart is in the right place when it comes to his daughter but who is torn between keeping her safe and doing what is best for his club. He can't deny who he is even if he wants to take this slower now that he has Lily.
the chemistry between Cross and Roxie comes off the page.
The story has twist and turns and a surprise as well.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves MC stories and event hose who don't.
I was given this book and am laving an honest voluntary review.

I can't even begin to explain how freaking hard it was to finish this book! Trust me when I say that it wouldn't have mattered if I'd read this on kindle or listened to it on audio. Just no. Roxy has no backbone what so ever. One minute she is berating herself as to why she gave him her address, or some other thing she does and the next she feels whole when he's around and can't breathe without him in her life. To me the biggest saving grace this book has is Roxy finding out her brother is alive and being reunited with him. I've read other MC books and this one by far is my least favorite so that's why I'm giving this a 2.5 star rating!

Roxanne "Roxie" no last name ever mentioned, I think, if it was, it was only mentioned once, is the daughter of an outlaw MC president with an older brother, Ice, who is a member of their dad's club. His name says it all about him but he loves his sister and would do anything for her which he proves at the beginning of the book. Both Roxie and Ice were brought up in the MC and that is the place they call home until they can't. Neither one will ever be the same.

Cross, a road name, president of the Devil's Nightmare MC, another outlaw MC. Last name Whittaker, though no one except Tank, a life long friend of Cross, and his daughter Lily's school, know this is his last name. We never find out what his given first name is.

When Lena sees her father being killed by Lizard, another MC president, who has plans to wipe out her father's club and abduct her is saved when her brother, who is coming home find them and takes on Lizard and his "henchmen" giving his wallet to Roxie and tells her to run. SHe doesn't want to but she can tell if she doesn't her brother will be disappointed in her and her fear makes her run and run she does. SHe keeps running until she can't run anymore.

She finds herself a high school graduate, on the street, fending for herself. SOmehow, she works as many jobs as she can and puts herself through college, ending with a degree in social work. Which she works at while she is getting her license as a school counselor.

She finds herself in a small town in California, with her first job as a middle school guidance counselor, six years away from her old home outside of Chicago, hoping that Lizard will never find her knowing he will always look for her since she is the last surviving member of her father's family and MC.

First day at her new job she sees a man drop off his daughter and finds him interesting, knows he is out of her league, dropping a girl off for school. Soon she meets the daughter, Lily Eagle Feather, who is the resident bully of the school.

This is how the story begins. The characters, even the minor ones, are written well and the story develops at a perfect pace. I will continue reading this series to see where the characters go.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
this is the first book of the new Devil's Nightmare MC series. And OMG it was wonderful
Cross is the Pres of this MC and the son of a Preacher, he has this name for a reason, All the people he has
killed would fill a cemetery, His MC is known for being assassins and Cross is the best
at what they do. But things have changed for Cross when his ex shows up with his daughter
Lily a daughter he had no idea about. She just dropped her and disappeared. But Cross will
do anything to keep her safe, He is changing some of the ways of his Club. One being that
there are to be no women at the club house (and oh what a club house they have!!!) 2 being
that they are taking over the gun business from another club, which has a few hick-ups along the way

Roxie is the daughter of an MC Pres, but a rival club murdered every one of the members including
her father and her brother Ice. Ice sacrificed his life to save his sister, she was just 21 when it happened
Ice had saved her from the man who took her and claimed her as his. Lizard is the Pres of that club.
Roxie has worked her butt off for 6 years trying to stay hidden from Lizard and make something of herself
she is now in a new town and the new guidance counselor for the junior high school, Her very first day she
sees Cross dropping his daughter off and even though she promised herself that she would NEVER get involved
with another biker or the MC life again she cannot help but be extremely attracted to Cross.
I absolutely could not put this book down, It is such a well written story that it sucked me in until the last page
there are of course wonderful twists and turns, HOT HOT steamy scenes and surprises as well.
I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

Turns very quickly into a very unexpectedly sexy time book

So I got this book after reading a brief blurb on Facebook. Did not sound like a sexy time book, but let me tell you. It was a sexy time book, and so much so I felt slightly uncomfortable.

It was enjoyable and I could see where the book was going and liked it.

I did get annoyed with the main character Roxie as she literally made eye contact with a man and decided that she needed to ride the peen and did not stop going on about it. She also used a students circumstances to literally insert herself into the fathers life and then sleep with him. I get it’s a book but I did find that pretty shitty and pretty unprofessional.

I did like Cross. He tried to be a good father to Lily after not knowing he had a daughter and was trying. I think as a father that claims he wanted the best for her and her education should have taken a more active role in her school life and meeting with them but understand how he had to be tough for story purposes.

I would have liked to have read a bit more in-depth about the characters not just how much they want to fuck each other, and then literally have sex. Would have been great if when she were talking about having sex with cross she didn’t go on about seeing bloody mountains and stars exploding in the expanse of the sky etc I also don’t know a single female that orgasms and goes blind.. literally blind.

Again, I know it’s a smut book (NOW!) But I would have liked a bit more story instead of sex 🤷🏼‍♀️
From what there was it was enjoyable, it does start of super slow (there was a lot of mind numbing sex descriptions) and the end pretty much happens in a chapter and caboom your finished. So that wasn’t the best, but meh.

A pretty good book though 👍🏼

Cross by Lena Bourne is book one in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series with lots of steam and suspense. The story is about Cross a complicated man and President of a 1% MC. He is a hard man to like but is trying (as best as he can) to raise his daughter Lily, look after his MC and trying to keep his distance from his daughter’s school counsellor Roxie.

Roxie has had her own hardships after losing her father and brother in violent circumstances. IN a new town and trying to help students in her care, she comes across Lily who has seen her own type of violence and experienced her own abandonment. Roxie has Lily’s best interest at heart and goes head-to-head with Cross to make sure the young girl gets everything she needs. But she finds herself falling for Cross even though being thrust back into the MC fold is not what she wants. What starts off as just having a good time becomes something more with Cross, but both of them have to meet in the middle which seems to be something neither of them can do, causing angst and hurt feelings along the way.

There was a lot going on in this story with both main characters and also with Lily (whose own story gets a little bit lost further along in the story). Cross is a hard man to lie but he does show some vulnerability when it comes to Roxie and what she has been through. Roxie’s own story was intriguing as were the twist and turns regarding it towards the latter part of the book.

This book had a lot of steam, suspense and some good characters and also helped to set up the next story in the series. It will be interesting to read what is going to happen to the Devil’s Nightmare MC next and who is going to be on the next ride!

Cross is the first book in the in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series, and what a way to start a series! Roxie has restarted her life to become a guidance counselor for middle school kids. Her first assignment is with Lily, the daughter of the local MC president, and someone she can fully relate to. She’s completely drawn to Cross, but can she risk her heart, secrets, and safety?

Oh my, this book had secrets, suspense, sexual tension, a serious reflection of one’s self to build the relationships that are needed. Roxie and Cross were hot together, but they also made a great team. Roxie was so brave when it came to defending Lily and wanting the best for her, but was tentative when it came to reaching for her own happiness. Sometimes that drove me a little crazy, but I totally understood her reasons, and it was just one of the reasons why I flipped through pages - to find out if she would find that happy ending! Cross was fierce, dominant, and all alpha, but I loved that he was realizing that he wasn’t indestructible and had a daughter to look after. I loved his connection with Lily and that he wanted more with her, and I loved how he developed his relationship with Roxie. Some of the secrets and suspense of the club definitely had me flipping through the pages, and I could barely put this book down once I started it! I’m excited to read the next book in the series and look forward to reading more from Ms. Bourne!

Cross is the President of a motorcycle club. He has recently taken guardianship of his daughter, who he knew nothing about until she turned up on his doorstep.

Unfortunately for him, his Daughter, Lily, sees fit to play up at school. She is refusing to conform to the rules, but seeing as he was the same at her age, he has nothing to offer as a solution to rectify the situation.

Roxie has been running for the past six years, haunted by the ghosts of her past, she is constantly looking over her shoulder. She has just started a new position at a small town school as a counsellor & she is enjoying the freedom it allows her.

When Lily's case falls on her desk, she knows how the little girls is feeling completely. She was once the daughter of an MC president too, so she can relate.

After taking no nonsense from Cross, who is drop-dead gorgeous, by the way, she talks him into allowing her to visit their "home" in order to see what life outside school is like for Lily. She doesn't realise, until she arrives there, just how much she misses her old life. After changing her appearance & her name, she can only dream of living her old life once again.

What ensues is a Gripping love story to rival any. The twists & turns kept me turning the pages & I was absolutely hooked!

The HEA is to die for,, honestly! This us an eloquently written story to melt your heart!

Well done Lena. I need more & soon!

This was a story of romance and retribution combined with the mystery of Roxie's past!
by sewsummore

Roxie was a daughter of a MC Club's President, but she left that world far behind when the club was attacked by a rival club and her father and brother murdered. She managed to escape and through hard work and determination was now a Guidance Officer in a Junior High. It was on her first day that she met a young girl who had been abandoned by her mother, and was having problems at school. Her father was Cross, President of the"Devil's Nightmare MC Club," and a difficult parent to deal with. Despite this, Roxie was determined to help the young girl continue her education, and arranged to meet with the girl's father. The chemistry between them was explosive and intense and before long they were also lovers. I found this book addictive and as the romance between Cross and Roxie developed, so did my fascination with the story. Roxie missed hearing the sounds of the club bikes and the friendships of her former club members. She could understand the difficult time Cross experience as both a new father and club President. I admired his determination to protect his daughter and provide for her future. This book was not only a romance, but also a story of revenge and retribution, combined with the mystery of Roxie's past.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Lena Bourne does again with another hot, steamy, heart pounding great read about a MC prez, Cross, and his daughter's new guidance counsellor, Roxie. When Roxie first sees Cross in front of her new school, the memories she has tried to suppress about her past comes rushing back to her along with an intense attraction to him. When Cross meets his daughter's new counsellor he can't believe it's the same beautiful woman he saw the other day and now he wants her even more and he always gets what he wants.
I loved this story from the beginning where the first chapter had my heart pounding and had me hooked right away. Not only that but the steamy scenes were sizzling and the way Cross was doing the best he could with his daughter, considering the situation, melted my heart. Under all that gruff and cold demeanour he has a soft spot for the females in his life and would do anything for them. Roxie as hard as she tried to deny it but being with Cross and seeing his club made her feel at home and secure, something she lost years ago when it was ripped away from her. I also enjoyed what happened after she told him the truth of who she was...was not expecting that reaction and it made the read that much more enjoyable. A great start to another MC series and I can't wait for the next one.

The idea was great, but personally, I thought the execution failed. It felt.....too smooth, no real conflict, no tension, not to mention our FMC somehow completely managed to put her sexual and romantic desires before the well being of her student. I guess I just wish that there was more inner conflict, (i want him but i cant) and more pushing our MMC away so that at least she would seem somewhat professional but also that would create desire and tension between them. And I wish there was more conflict with the enemy, it seemed like they won wayy too easy.

I love spicy books but I literally skimmed through the sex scenes because they were just boring to me. I feel like it needed more dialogue throughout, some dirty talk, some sweet nothings, some threats even 😅

Overall, the book was good enough that I finished it but it was definitely one of the more, plain, MC books I've ever read. I'd said if you're an anxious person and you're looking for a sweet easy read with not very much conflict and easy resolutions, read it, but if you want more substance, I wouldn't recommend 😭

Oh I will say tho, I feel like our Author has a ton of potential so I will be giving a lot of her other books a read, because I can tell that she's good at writing, this one just wasn't for me personally.

Good read

A very good start to this series, it covers a number of topics such as loss hatred deception and fear as well as fierce love and passion. Cross is the president of devils nightmare and rules his club wisely he recently gained a twelve year old daughter that he knew nothing about until her mother dropped her in his lap the girl is part native American and was bought up on a reservation by her grandparents who recently died, it is through her that he meets Roxie the school counsellor something about her draws him to her. Roxeanne or Roxie has her own secrets her dad was president of an MC and was brutally murdered by another gang along with her brother or so she believed she has been running ever since. First time she sees Cross he ignites something in her and they are drawn together by this invisible force. Their love burns hot and feisty and although they go through some difficult times they just can't give each other up and it erupts when he finds and returns her brother to her who she believed dead. This book burns hot all the way through these two characters are both strong personalities with fire in their blood. This is a good biker book and an excellent start to the series.

This book had so much potential. To be honest, Cross was probably one of the most realistic MC presidents I've read, however, that means he's sexist, racist and selfish to the point it's impossible to like him. I can't even explain how terrible a father he is by just being disconnected from his daughter and all of her issues. He just tells her to "get over it" and ignores the issues and expects other people, like the school counselor, to figure out her problems and fix them without interrupting his day.

Written in a manner with a more nuanced and mature writing style, this book could have been amazing. This book however, just isn't.

I still can't believe I just read a book where the MC Pres casually says "Thirteen years ago, Rose Eagle Feather, Lily's mom, was my indian squaw for a while. It didn't last for more than summer, mostly because she was more batshit crazy than any woman I've met before her, or since" There is also a "you don't have to worry your pretty little face over it anymore" line. There was a "you don't live on the Res anymore, you need to act like regular people" line, too. Cross just didn't do anything for me but leave me cold and slightly disgusted that Roxie put up with that shit.

This is the first book I have read by this author, so had no idea what too expect.

This is the story of Roxie and Lily, then the story of Roxie and Cross. Lily is Cross's daughter from an earlier relationship, and has been living with him for a short while; Roxie is the new councillor at Lily's school. School is absolutely not where Lily would like to be, and after one incident too many, Lily ended up in Roxie's office. Roxie relates to Lily's situation as her father was also the President of an MC.

I did find the next bit somewhat tedious - Roxie meets Cross, they end up having sex, not much mention of Lily after the beginning. I would like to have learned more about the characters' relationships and about the MC as well.

The story-line becomes more interesting as we learn more about Roxie and her past..Oh, and I thought the restored mansion was unrealistic.

I enjoyed the author's style of writing, especially as the storyline developed. I most certainly will read more by the author.

Roxie lost everything the night a rival MC came to her house and slaughtered her father, brother and all the members of Satan's Wolves, which was the MC her dad was president of. She's been running and hiding for six years. She struggled to put herself through college with the help and inspiration of a social worker who found her living on the streets. She finally gets to start a new job at a junior high school as a guidance counselor. On her first day she sees Cross, President of the Devil's Nightmare MC when he is dropping his daughter off at school. She can't seem to stop staring at him and longing for the life she used to have. What happens when Cross sets his sights on Roxie? Will she be able to go back to the brutal life of an MC? What happens when Roxie's past comes back to haunt her? Will she make it out alive this time? You'll have to read this book to find out those answers and so much more. This is an excellent MC romance with a little darkness thrown in. Definitely recommend this book to all MC romance lovers out there.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Cross and it was my first book by this author. Beginning with a traumatic event for Roxie and entwining to current day with suspense.

It was fantastic to follow as all the pieces of the puzzle started to form. Paced perfectly and kept me entertained and wanting to turn those pages and not leave the characters.

Their romance has a slow build up at the start as Roxie really fought the pull of returning to what she grew up in. Cross was definitely the alpha male protector for her. Roxie has a great inner strength and her trauma as a young girl was intense.

The relationship with Cross and his daughter was an interesting inclusion. I thought the whole Motorcycle group of characters around Cross provided great support to the story.

My favourite component was Roxie’s family history. I loved how Cross stepped up with his Motorcycle group and repaired her life.

Finally, it has a great balance of romance and action that will keep you entertained until the last chapter.

I have just one question... Why is it that I've never read a book from this author before?? This is a situation that I'll have to rectify. Roxie's family is killed by a rival MC. She gets as far away as possible and changes her life for the better, becoming a guidance counselor and certified social worker. Cross ends up with the daughter he never knew about. Lily's not happy about her new situation, causing trouble at school. Roxie takes a personal interest in Lily; she's been there before with her father's MC. The relationship between Roxie and Lily is so shaky at first, but I love Roxie's determination to not let her down. The banter and chemistry between Cross and Roxie is amazing, and she really gets under his skin. But when Cross brings her past right into the present, can he save her? Will she forgive him? This is my first read from this author, but not the last. I really enjoyed reading this book.

I read this quite some time ago, but when I see the cover, I can remember most of the story. I love MCs. If they were kryptonite, I'd be stuck on them forever. This book was pretty decent, and I did enjoy reading it. The plot actually had some twists that you normally don't see in other books of this trophy. Cross is the President of the Devil's Nightmare MC. Life should be easy, but he's recently taken in his teenage daughter after a tragedy. Now, Cross is just trying to survive her teenage years. Roxie knows exactly what that feels like as she's survived her own past tragedy. She's just trying to help, but Cross is a huge distraction she can't afford right now. There were a few moments where I didn't really understand what was going on between the main characters. I just wasn't interested enough to go back and reread to figure out what I had missed. I did finish it, but my interest wasn't really held in the series. I tried to get excited about a new series, but I never downloaded Book 2.
