Seraphine Thomas #12

Reorganized Wolf

Rate this book
Division Chief Seraphine Thomas knew going to Russia was a trap and she would be the target. Her life changes forever in an instant when her enemies take the nuclear option to hurt her in the worst way possible.

Just when she thought nothing could shake her more than her birth father coming back into the picture and having to adopt her half-brother—becoming a mother, which she never wanted—life throws her a surprise right hook. And when it doesn’t seem to be as bad as she thought, it gets worse.

Much, much worse.

An old adversary Sera hoped never to see or tangle with again comes to Chicago and with a powerful backing that scares her into considering the one thing she never thought she would… Leaving the FBI. And someone she loves is the reason he’s there trying to hurt her again.

All of that and someone’s leaving bombs around Chicago wrapped as holiday presents. Sera’s not sure if she’s going to blow her top or bash some heads in, but some people are definitely getting coal in their stockings this year.

Seraphine Thomas is a crime series filled with Chicago attitude and a strong heroine that pushes what most would think a female lead capable of, along with the heat being involved with several men brings while trying to figure out what she wants.

So Many Plot Strands

This book is complex to say the least. It’s not got the breakneck speed of some of the books in the series, but it has lots of different strands all moving quite quickly.

Sera has been sent to Russia to deal with the aftermath of dealing with the Russian Mob in New York. Whilst she’s there she confronts a Wolf Alpha who confirms that the Elders on the Shifters Council are playing their manipulative games again by spreading rumours about Sera.

When she gets back home things end up changing radically both at work and personally. She has a new boss and an old enemy emerges causing fear for the safety of her and her loved ones. There are politics aplenty in this book and it sets up future problems for Sera and the other supernaturals of Chicago to deal with.

In her fear, Sera calls in a favour of someone she would normally run away from, and sets other things into motion. She juggles the personal, the professional and the political like a master acrobat and I have to watch in awe how this very clever character deals with her problems with honesty, integrity and strength.

I’m not sure if there are any more books in this series, but I really hope so, because I’ve enjoyed every single one.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Seraphine is the thick of things again. Changes happen that alter the dynamic of Sera and her people. Changes not just in her life as Alpha, but also in the FBI. Add in a bomber and we've got another great story in the series. I totally recommend this series to any lover of the paranormal who enjoys a good plotline and some steamy interactions between Seraphine and her many men.

Review of the Seraphine Thomas Series by Erin Flynn (Books 1–18)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Overall)

I’ve officially read all 18 books in the Seraphine Thomas series - yes, all of them - so you don’t have to (but maybe you’ll want to). I’m a longtime fan of Erin Flynn’s writing. Her stories are creative, emotionally rich, and often addictive. There's always at least one character per series you end up rooting for, and her talent for immersive world-building is undeniable.

That said, my experience with this series has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Let’s break it down honestly - but respectfully.

🔥 The Positives:
Compelling Worldbuilding: The supernatural FBI + polyamorous twist is unlike most in the genre. Think Forever meets Castle with a Vampire Diaries vibe.

Long-Term Character Arcs: The series spans a wide timeline and shows dedication to character growth (even if not always in a direction I enjoyed).

Addictive Early Books: Books 1–7 had me hooked. They had humor, high-stakes emotional drama, and solid pacing. These earned a solid 3.5/5 stars from me.

😬 Mixed Feelings & Constructive Critique:
1. Tone and Authorial Voice
While the author’s writing style is generally engaging, I personally found some of the commentary in the closing author’s notes and certain narrative choices to feel more personal or opinionated than expected in fiction. I completely understand the need to address issues like piracy, but I believe there might be more neutral or inclusive ways to communicate those messages.

2. Relationship Complexity vs. Clarity
This isn’t a typical “Why Choose” or Reverse Harem setup. It’s a deeply layered polyandrous dynamic - messy, intricate, and sometimes emotionally chaotic. If you're looking for straightforward bonding arcs, be prepared: the relationship development gets incredibly convoluted. Personally, I found the shifting dynamics between mates, sirened partners, consorts, and friends-with-benefits confusing as the series progressed. A glossary or relationship map might be helpful in future installments.

3. Character Fatigue
By Book 18, I found myself struggling to connect with many of the characters - especially the main character, Sera. She starts off as a resilient, sharp, and likable FMC, but over time, her decisions and relationship management felt inconsistent or frustrating. The push-pull dynamic in her personal life, paired with very little progress in her supernatural education even 18 books in, made it difficult for me to continue rooting for her.

Many love interests were introduced with big emotional weight, only to fade into the background or disappear altogether. Some characters who were well-developed and emotionally resonant (like Dain or Tristan) seemed to get less closure or fair treatment than others who felt more peripheral. In contrast, some relationships dragged on without significant development or payoff.

4. Pacing & Structure
Books 8–18 dropped to a 2.5/5 rating for me. The pacing slowed, and more focus seemed to shift toward commentary and expanding the cast rather than continuing the central storyline. Political and social themes started to feel more prominent than the core plot, which I found distracting from the fictional narrative I was invested in.

🧍‍♀️Sera Thomas (FMC):
Early-series Sera was fantastic: witty, brave, emotionally complex, and vulnerable. I loved her journey through the early books. But as the series continued, her indecision, emotional volatility, and seeming lack of introspection made it harder to sympathize with her. She often reacted rather than reflected, and by Book 18, she felt less like a hero and more like a character stuck in loops.

💔 On the MMCs:
Too many to list fully, but here are some key points:

Tristan: Felt unfairly treated by both the narrative and Sera. He brought a lot to the story emotionally and deserved more.

Dain: A standout for me. Loyal, strong, and emotionally available. Frustratingly underappreciated by Sera.

Brian, Riley, Hagan/Reagan: Relationships with these characters didn’t feel satisfying or necessary by the end.

Noah, Axel, Eugene, Jason: Struggled to leave a lasting impression. Some started strong but faded, others never quite clicked.

Carter: Felt like his storyline was mishandled. A simple conversation would have solved a lot.

Ari, Virgil, Lucca, etc.: Either forgotten or sidelined. At 18 books in, I’m struggling to remember who’s still important and who isn’t.

⚠️ Final Thoughts:
This series started with a bang but has become increasingly complex - sometimes at the expense of clarity, pacing, and emotional payoff. I’d still recommend it to readers who enjoy dark paranormal romance with poly themes, complex emotions, and an ongoing world that spans dozens of characters.

But for me, the series may have reached its natural peak. I’m unsure whether I’ll continue with future books unless there’s a notable shift in focus and tone. Still, Erin Flynn’s creativity and dedication to her characters is commendable, and I hope future installments bring some much-needed resolution to long-standing arcs.

TL;DR:
Started strong with a bold and complex heroine in a unique supernatural world. Became bloated with characters and unresolved plot threads. A frustrating but ambitious series worth reading - if you have patience.

4 I Will Take The Well-Behaved One With The Large Hands Stars

Reorganized Wolf is the twelfth book in the Seraphine Thomas series by Erin R. Flynn.

I'm honestly surprised that Brian hasn't been made to understand the importance of all the supernatural rules and hierarchy up to this point. That it took him becoming a shifter, to even acknowledge his complete lack of regard for such a pivotal consideration on all of Sera's decisions. I like him as one of her core mates, for the future.

That Eugene and Sera ironed out their relationship, and the seriousness along with the implications from what their wolves have been feeling was a definite favorite of mine. I really do like Eugene, and even if Reagan and Hagan came first, I believe he fits her more. That they both have the weight of their bloodlines on their shoulders, and the regal nature of their wolves makes them seem way more in sync. Dain is definitely up there for consideration. Because who can truly beat out a faerie royal? My main concern is Russia, and what learning of theirs and Eugene's history means for the current threats they face...

Thus nonsense with Murray has allowed us to further understand Sera's past. While obliquely understanding the trials she faced, and the oppression within power roles of being a woman in the boys game, seeing the true conspirator and author of her treatment adds a validity. Fine pointing the traumas and situations whe faced.

I'm sad about this Jeremy guy. Yea, bombing a bunch of heavily frequented buildings, and risking innocents in his move to rid Chicago of corruption is wrong. Heavily so. But I hate that the dirt within the system is was corrupted him, and pushed him to the point of thinking this was the only way. It draws a lot of sad and frustrating parallels to reality.

I missed the bunnies in this book. We've been seeing less and less of them within the series, and that feels like such a loss to me. Although, I did truly enjoy the video they created and the hilarity they captured of a day in the life of the Alpha of Chicago.

Loving This Series!

There is so much to say about this series. I think I'm going to keep it short. I'm enjoying the growth of the characters watching them evolve and become who they're truly supposed to be. Sera Is brilliant and she has gone through a lot in life but I still think she is being too nice on Brian. I hope that her and all of her men Will continue to grow and become tighter and more like a well oiled machine, But I'm guessing they're gonna have many more obstacles to jump over before they can get to that really happy place. This series Is on a different level and I really like that. Touches on Things that are really hard to talk about that a lot of people don't like to put in these types of books. Thank you for the writer you are amazing and I look forward to reading many more books from you're brilliant mind.

Awesome sauce!

I love this series. So much happens so fast in this book that I had to reread it. I really love the first few books of this series best. They are all really good but I feel like I got a more in depth look on the case and the character interaction. I do love watching the characters learn and grow as the series continues, not all series show emotional progression. Lots of action, fast paced and real emotion and communication in the relationships. I whole heartedly approve! I hope Brian catches up fast on being a wolf, so happy he was saved. I hope to see a stable relationships with Regan, Hagan, Axel and Eugene. LoveDain, everyone would be blessed to have a Dain in their life.
Can't wait for the next book!

I love this series!

I don't enjoy all the books equally, but I really enjoyed this one. So much so, I made myself stop reading it a few times to stretch out the enjoyment. I really hope you plan on continuing this series for a long time! I also enjoy the House Garner series, the Karma Bakery series and the complete succubus/telepathic series, I can't remember the name of the series. Oh and the new Artemis university. I do wish that you released books more often
I get that it's not that easy. But it seems like it's been a long time since a Seraphine Thomas book was released. Are you going to release a new Karma Bakery book soon?

Hindsight

Another one bites the dust. I actually want to cry that this is the last one that's out atm. It's been an epic journey with Sera so far and cannot wait for the next book to be released. This book has taught us that hindsight is always something to look back on to see where you've come from and where you currently are. This book really reminded me of my favourite quote 'life is devine chaos' it basically means that we could through everything that life throws at us and how we learn from those trials makes us the person we are today. Sera learns this in this book when she is faced with someone who could have been her outcome if she didn't go the path she did.

I should've paced myself

I can't believe it's only been two years since Sera's journey started!! I've loved growing with her and being a part of her world. I've learned so much about myself that as usual I couldn't put the book down and flew through it. The author does such a great job of telling Sera's story while still giving all her men their own time. I don't know if Erin is a fellow INTJ but just gets us and I love every second of it. I loooove the extra chapters. Going to start another of the author's series while I wait for the next book. Can't wait!

AMAZING!!!

I absolutely loved this series!
Seraphine is totally badass and despite her difficult past and all the shite live have thrown at her she is so compassionate, thoughtful and understanding!
Brian Havers got off way too easy in my books. I would have loved to have seen how he and Sera handled the changes to their relationship.

I wish there had been more interaction with Axel but with how much Sera was juggling it’s easy to see where he was forgotten.

I’m so sad this is the last book! Looking forward to reading other stories from Erin R Flynn.

Not sure she sees...

I said I disliked Brian so the BS he pulled is no surprise. ...but I love you, babe! (Bleh bleh bleh). How dare he be so dismissive; yay for the pounding. The fight against corruption continues but this one had a sad twist. Murray and the director are issues. One needs a comeuppance; the other a little less bigotry. Still looking for Ari. ;-)
Good read but one still needs to check themselves. If you are easily offended, skip this series; else it is a good read.

Awesome as always!

I loved this book just add much as the previous ones. The blurb had me a little worried at first but it worked out. I love the humor woven in with strong characters. Even though the books tackle some serious topics they are always pull me in from the start and are fun to read. My only disappointment is that I read it so fast and now have to wait for the next book. Thankfully this author has new books out frequently and I love her other series too.

Just when you thought....

...the crazy was over, it all kicks into high gear.
Poor Seraphine, there just ain't no rest for the wicket. Everybody wants to take their best shot, and our girl keeps being the duck on the shooting range. Can't WAIT to find out what the FBI Director's problem with 'supes' is....sheesh!
As for SAiC Murray.....can we assign him as a bodyguard to the Wolf Councilman when he goes to visit Melicent??

Series is a continuation I look forward to, it is a lot ,But I haven't lost interest at all which is rare . Hope to continue but I can see another 2 books at least. Well written I read at least 10 - 15 books a month so don't always review unless I enjoy the author. Please note I am finding more grammar & spelling errors than ever , But, this does not include this series to any degree. If you do read enjoy

Absolutely devoured this book

So epic! Love how it just throws you into the good stuff and want to to carry on reading even when you know you've got work early in the morning and it's past 4 o clock. I've turned into such a huge fan of Erin's I've recommended her books multiple times on Facebook. Must read more! Doesn't matter the series all amazing. Impacient is not the word. 🤩😊

Growth

Seraphina is growing which I like. While I love this authors writing, I would wish for a little less realism. The author ties fantasy with real world and emotional issues into a wonderful world and characters. It is hard reading all the things the things the MC goes through but there are good moments too, so while I wish for more happy happy, I still love the adventures and the growth of this world.

Worth the wait

I've been waiting a while for this book to come out and even after it came out it took time for me to find time to read it and it was definitely worth it. Searching has grown her foundations are solid and her interactions with her men were nice too read...it's hard to come up with stuff to write without spoiling it 😄. Anyway I can't wait for the next book...and just wonder if they'll road trip in the next one.

Ready for 13!

Flynn always delivers a new and exciting story and her main character Sera is kick ass. Missing Axel this story! As a side note with how many characters there are in each book and the length between installations it would be helpful for the reader to have a guide at the beginning of who's who as a little refresher. Trying to remember all the key players over 12 books after several months can make it difficult especially when they're mentioned in passing.

Absolutely Amazing

I believe every woman should read this series. Sera is an awesome role model in her fight for equality and justice for all. Plus she has a crazy good time with hot delicious men who treat her as ALL women should be treated. And reading this has helped the healing process for issues I wasn't aware of and many I thought I had under control. Thank you Erin for this treat and I can't wait for the next book!!

Love this series

This is my 3rd read of this series and I love it. Please can we have more, pretty pretty please with a cherry on top.
Fast paced action with romance, chaos, crazy, sexy. Gorgeous hunky men, spunky women and a whole twisty turny rollercoaster of relationships and life in general.
Really like the fact some uncomfortable topics are brought to light and how they are dealt with.
Thank you Erin, please keep writing you amazing books x

Kick@$$

I binge read this entire series. I loved it. The characters were fully developed, they had issues that need dealing with just like real life. But also all the sex, power and paranormal you could ever want. The main character was strong, bold , powerful and retained her humanity. There's lots of sex (really good naughty raw sex).....but it doesn't take away from a powerful story. One of the best I've ever read. Can't wait for more.

Done.

Awful. In a world where people are trying to escape politics and one of your favorite authors praises one side that carries the most lies? DO NOT READ THIS SERIES. AWFUL. BOTH SIDES LIE AND ARE CORRUPT AND WE ARE WATCHING YOUR SIDE HAVE THE LARGEST FALL OUT AND LOOSE OUR RIGHTS. WHY? I DONT GO ON SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE I HATE POLITICS SO MY FAVORITE AUTHOR THOUGHT SHE SHOULD? HELL NO. AWFUL. HER CHARACTERIZATIONS ARE ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS DO NOT READ THIS SERIES.

Enjoyed it, for the most part, I guess I'm prudish and don't like all the sex and stuff (I just skim over that part). I loved seeing her involved in a case and her way to take in the sexism showed towards her by the FBI and Brian's promotion over her, him not telling her about it was totally WRONG and she is dealing with that. I always knew he would be changed, it was just a matter of when or why. I wish more people in her position had the ethics and standards she holds herself to.

Loved it!

This book tied up some loose ends from the previous books, the writing in this one is great. There are fewer grammar errors, and she explains things with the characters more than just a wrap up summary in each chapter. There is more character development, and I love where the story is going.

OMG!! Another great Sera book!!

I absolutely love that you build on Sera’s character. She’s not the same from the beginning or even two books ago, she’s actually evolving. I truly look forward (stalk) for the next Sera book and to be swept up into her life and the next adventure all over again!!

Absolutely loved, although I felt it was a little rushed and saw less of the FBI side which I love about Sera. I felt this book was all about Brian and somewhat of our favorite Dire wolf, Eugene so did love the past background for him. Can’t wait for what Erin has in store for us in the next book 💙💚

I Love her books because the heroins are bold . Finally , stories not about blushing 18 year old virgins who are afraid of their own shadow.

I enjoy the relationships and the magical system but Sera is a huge blowhard and obsessively tells people off to the cheers of everyone around her. That's not how it works. She's also a lack luster FBI Agent as she really hasn't really solved any cases despite how smart she tells us she is all the time.

Exceptional

I’ve been reviewing each Seraphine Thomas book as I read them and I’m trying to find something new to add. I love the way Flynn has created the supernatural aspects of this world. I haven’t been interested in supernatural stories lately but Flynn’s have been so great I’ve been unable to read anything else. Truly amazing.
