A charming story of friendship follows Delilah, a feisty little lamb, and her best friend Red as they have loads of fun working together on the farm, but when a dozen full-grown sheep arrive on the farm, Red soon discovers that Delilah is truly unique.
John Bemelmans Marciano carries on the legacy begun by his grandfather, Ludwig Bemelmans, author and illustrator of the Madeline books, with stunning watercolor artwork and playful, energetic storytelling.
Given to me by a very special friend:)...this book is an amazing children's book. I had it before I became a mother and loved the story encouraging individualism and now I love reading the message to my daughter!
I just adore this book. This was a book I knew nothing about, but ran across in the used bookstore and picked up because of the title (I love the name) and the gorgeous illustrations. What a brilliant find! It is such a wonderful children's story describing the sweet relationship that develops between a lonely farmer and his new lamb, Delilah. It deals with bullying, but not in a preachy way, and I loved that in the end, Delilah prioritizes love & kindness over fitting in. My 5yo son has loved this book since I first read it to him at 3yo, and he regularly requests it for his bedtime story.
