Count On Me

Rate this book
Military duty called them away to war zones, but after tours overseas, the group of friends found their way back home as men, seeking the peaceful little seaside town. Now, the band of brothers, together once more, work to provide a place for less fortunate veterans to call home.

Scott Redding served his time in the Army and paid the price. Coming back to the Eastern Shore, he was determined to live his life and not be defined as an amputee. Meeting Beau Weston was supposed to be about helping the older man settle his affairs…not change his life.

Lizzie Weston raised goats and alpacas, rising early and going to bed late, determined to not let her grandfather’s farm be sold. Accepting help from Scott was not what she wanted. The handsome accountant had impressed her grandfather, but she was sure he lived a life of ease and would not understand the demands of farming.

As Scott and Lizzie worked to save Weston farm, animosity grew into understanding…and then to love. But someone is out to force Lizzie to sell and it is up to Scott to save the farm…and her.

Scenes and language similar to what you would find in an R-rated movie. 18+ readers only.

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

Such a good story! Reading Count on Me was like comfort food for my brain. It was a sweet small town romance with just a bit of drama and suspense to move the story along. It was an absolute pleasure to read!
Accountant Scott Redding is making a place for himself back home in the Baytown area. He steps up to help Lizzie Weston with her farm... whether she thinks she wants help or not!

“... he had not promised that nothing bad would ever happen to her again. But that when it did, he would be there for her, carrying her pain.”

This story is a standalone but if you have read other Baytown Boys books there are plenty of familiar characters who make appearances.

After Scott Redding finished his Master's Degree he returned to Baytown and began working for Lia at the Accounting Firm that had once been his grandfather's. Lia has since offered him a partnership which he took without hesitation. A new to him client visits about taxes and plans for the farm. Beau Weston is all about making sure his granddaughter can make all the changes she needs to keep the place running and profitable.

Scott was still looking for the perfect house, he was renting but hadn't found a house that said 'home' to him. On a detour he sees the sign for Weston Farms and Beau working the fence line.

Scott becomes acquainted with Beau's granddaughter, Lizzy, after he dies. It was Beau's wish that Scott help Lizzy accomplish her dreams for the farm, not only through the tax help, but also with a business plan.

Lizzy isn't all that enthused about accepting his help, but their story is one of developing trust, friendship and a simmer to sizzle love. With unexpected twists, and plenty of interaction with the original Baytown Boys, the veterans that have made Baytown their home, and the strong successful women who love them.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Count on me is the 12th book in the beautiful Baytown Boys series by Maryann Jordan and what a beautiful book.
Lizzie was raised by her grandparents and love the farm with all her heart. She has worked hard all her life on the farm and had no time for a life outside the farm.
Scott had lost part of his leg in the while serving in the Army. He was the Accountant for Lizzie’s grandfather, Beau, and just wants to care for Lizzie and help her make her dreams for the farm a reality.
Love this story. Scott was swoony and lizzie so strong. The complemented each other.
The storyline with a little mystery of who was sabotaging the farm had me glued to my kindle trying to find out who was responsible.
Love seeing the community of Baytown together helping Lizzie.
Another amazing read in this series and can’t wait for Sam’s and Joseph’s book.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STARS.

Gosh this series just gets better and better with this 12th book in the Baytown Boys Series. This is Scott and Lizzie's story and it 's full of drama but heartwarming at times. Someone is sabotaging the farm and the two of them are drawn together trying to find who. Scott is an amputee from the war but is now and accountant and was hired by Lizzie's grandfather Beau to help her save the family farm. They but heads at first but tend to mesh the more they work together. Well written with likable characters and an entertaining story. All of the Baytown boys are great and Maryann is a wonderful writer. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

You know when you find an amazing author that writes series that you do not wish to end ..... well this is Maryann Jordan. As with all the Baytown books it has a great storyline.
Scott has overcome his challenges as an amputee but faces his most important to date , convincing Lizzie she can count on him. This series is so good I think Maryann needs to do Baytown next generation series with all the babies being born.

This book was great. This is actually the first Baytown book I've read, (I know I'm way behind! And reading out of order no less...) I have some others in my TBR though. I loved Scott. His character was amazing. The way he was patient with Lizzie and showed her that indeed she could count on him. And Lizzie! She was fantastic too! I admired her character's strength and ability to overcome obstacles, even when she didn't think she could. Another wonderful read!

I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

Count on Me (Baytown Boys, book 12) is the story of Scott Redding and Lizzie Weston. Scott’s character was originally introduced in Hear My Heart (Baytown Boys, book 8). Scott is a handsome, well-built veteran, who lost his leg and his friends while serving in the military. After recovering and going to rehab he decides to move and work in his grandfather’s accounting firm in Baytown, which he is now a partner of the firm. While he portrays himself as a confident guy, he is still struggling with his confidence as being an amputee. One reason for his lack of confidence is because his girlfriend (almost fiancée’) dumps him while in the hospital recovering from losing his leg. Now, Scott has a client named Beau Weston, and he is helping Beau with his farming business. Beau also tells Scott about his granddaughter, Lizzie, who works with him on the farm. Beau tells Scott about Lizzie’s ideas on how to build on their farming business, an example of that would be using the goat milk for lotions and soaps. Scott learns more and more about Lizzie each time he meets with Beau, and finds himself very intrigued. Lizzie is beautiful, hardworking, and is always thinking of ways to increase the farms business. Sadly, her grandfather, Beau, passes away and this is when Scott and Lizzie finally meet. I will stop here, as I do not want to give away spoilers. This story starts off differently than the others, which I enjoyed. I found it well written and necessary in developing the characters of Scott and Lizzie, and even Beau. As Scott is not one of the original Baytown boys, the intro explained how and why Scott ended up in Baytown. Lizzie sees Scott as the good-looking, confident, and hardworking man, who is true to his word. She does not let Scott’s prosthetic leg define him, which amazes Scott. I loved watching Scott and Lizzie’s relationship grow. Count on Me has so much drama and mystery going on; there are misunderstandings, and the sex…holy cow! You think you figured out who is behind everything, but then there is this twist, and you are like…WHAT??? So amazing! I could not wait to read Scott’s story, and I was not disappointed at all. Maryann Jordan has delivered us another hit! I truly recommend Count on Me (Baytown Boys, book 12).

Scott Redding, an accountant in Baytown, has lived his life trying not to get “stuck” in the life set before him. His family wanted him to take over the “family business”, but he wasn’t so sure he wanted to be stuck inside all day working with numbers. Instead, Scott enlisted to serve his country. After an explosion led to a leg amputation and medical discharge, Scott found he was really good “working with numbers”. So he took over the family business. As such, he helped Beau Weston get his papers, taxes, and farm in order prior to his sudden death. Scott had never met Beau’s granddaughter, but knew how proud Beau was of her. So, Scott set out to help Lizzie....

Lizzie Weston has worked the farm all her life, alongside her grandpa. Lizzie has new innovative ideas to grow the farm, but not the time or business knowledge. Lizzie seeks out Scott’s help with a business plan, but then second guesses herself. She believes Scott can’t possibly help her as he’s been handed everything his whole life—he hasn’t had to earn it. But she’s willing to do anything to keep her farm and to honor the memory of her grandpa. Slowly, Scott worms his way into her life and she realizes how badly she misjudged him. But danger looms as they try to turn the farm into a profitable business.

I absolutely LOVED Scott and Lizzie! Scott is an Alpha male, but also insecure due to his amputation. He doesn’t intentionally hide his disability from Lizzie, but waits until a charity run to show her instead. Although she has questions, she doesn’t dwell on his disability—just the man. Scott is so relieved! Lizzie grew up in Baytown, but didn’t have a lot of friends as she was always working the farm. In true Baytown form, friendships are formed and the town comes to the rescue. The twist at the end was surprising. I can usually guess who the bad guy is, but was pleasantly surprised. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

This is the 12th book in the Baytown Boys series and can absolutely be read as a standalone, although I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series as we see a lot of those characters in this book. In this one we get Scott Redding and Lizzie Weston's story. Scott served in the Army and lost more than most should have. But he considers himself lucky because he got to come home. He met Beau Weston when he came into his business and asked for his advice. And when he passes, he doesn't realize that him wanting to help his granddaughter will change his life forever. Lizzie has farming in her blood. She now raises goats and alpacas and is trying to change how they go about using their farm in order to survive. Accepting help is not what she needs or wants, but she is forced to accept it and then realizes how much she likes him. But when things start happening to her farm, can they both not only keep it safe but find out how much they love and need each other?

I have been waiting for this one since this character was first introduced! And this book in no way disappointed! Scott is this beyond sweet man who is willing to do anything for someone he cares about. And when he considers you his friend he will stand beside you, in front of you, or anyone you need in order to help you. Lizzie is this sweet and shy but when she cares about you-your in her life. These two together are perfect together and I loved them! There is suspense, a little action, but most of all-there is sweetness and love! I can't wait for more in this series though because all of these characters are beyond great!

A beautiful and touching love story set against the warmth of the Baytown community.
Scott lost part of his lower leg whilst serving in the military but he's fought to recover and refuses to let his loss define him, although he still suffers from moments of vulnerbility, and is now happily building his accountancy career which includes advising Beau Weston a local farmer. Lizzie has worked hard all her life on her beloved grandfather Beau's farm and has had little time for a life outside the farm and is left grief stricten and alone by her grandfathers death.
Strong, determined but lonely Lizzie has a vision for the future of the farm and her beloved animals but is reluctant to seek help or advice. Steadfast Scott wants nothing more than to care for Lizzie and help her secure the future she deserves and works desperately hard to convince her that she can count on him.
There are a few misunderstandings and some intrique with a twist and a cast of cute animals as Scott and Lizzie battle to save the farm from someone who wants to see it fail.
At the heart of this story is a sweet and tender love story between two strong, good people and the wonderful caring Baytown community doing it's thing and pulling together for one of it's own.
A heartwarming read carrying on the great tradition of Maryann Jordan's superb Baytown series.
I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily left a review.

Another one in the Baytown Series - if you love the Baytown Boys, you don’t want to miss this one. This is the story of Scott and Lizzie, Scott is ex-military and he lost part of his leg while he was deployed. He’s a great guy who after leaving the military goes to work in his grandfather’s accounting firm in Baytown. He meets Lizzie’s grandfather and is helping him get his business in order all the while hearing about the granddaughter, Lizzie who is currently trying to improve the farm. Lizzie is a farm girl who was raised on the farm and has spent her whole life working hard for the farm’s success. She is a workhorse and because of this, she really has no personal relationships. While she is strong and innovative and trying to bring the farm into the 21st century, I found her to be prickly and didn’t really like her much. Scott, on the other hand, is a doll. He is also a hard worker who has had to overcome much after leaving the military with only one leg and having to learn to live anew. He is gun shy with women because many don’t want to give him a chance due to his lost limb. One of the things I liked best about Lizzie was the fact that she seemed oblivious about his injury and willing to accept him as he was. Their story was a good one with the heart of Baytown goodness and people’s amazingly good hearts. The mystery of who wanted to sabatoge her farm was a surprise to me and definitely kept me motivated to see how the story would wrap up. Great story, great hero, great animals, great suspense and ok heroine. While I love Baytown this was not my favorite story because I just couldn’t connect with the heroine. I was happy to have read this story and continue to catch up with my Baytown friends. I look forward to the next story, hopefully Joseph and Sam. I received an ARC of this and have given an honest review.

Ms. Jordan takes us back to Baytown for Scott's story and I loved every bit of it. Going back to Baytown is like visiting old friends and meeting a few new ones along the way. Her Baytown Series grabbed me from the beginning and took me an emotional journey of finding love and acceptance with who you are and this newest story is no different.

Lizzie Weston is an amazing woman and she deserves an amazing man like Scott Redding. Lizzie isn't fazed by Scott's prosthetic leg. Scott knows Lizzie before her even meets her and when he does well it doesn't go as planned. Let's just say it's not love at first sight for Lizzie who has a lot on her plate at the moment. Someone wants her farm and will do almost anything to get her to sell it and this just after the death of her beloved grandfather.

This was a wonderful addition to the series and there are hints about whose story may be told next. I found myself wishing I had a grandpa like Pappa Beau. I never knew mine but he is what I imagine a loving, supportive, and proud grandpa would be. I also loved the animals and they provided some good laughs. I love this series and how Ms. Jordan has created a whole community that I can't get enough of. It's hard to believe that Baytown isn't real and while it is based on a real community that I would be hard-pressed not to look for any of these characters in the real "Baytown".

An Absolutely Inspiring and beautiful romance
. I love this story . It's outstanding as is the entire series . Mrs. Jordan never disappoints . She makes you feel like you are part of the Baytown story . Scott Redding survived an IED but lost part of his leg and and some of his military brothers in Afghanistan . He now works as an accountant in his Grandfather's previous business with a partner . He spends his time with friends and projects with the American Legion of Baytown . He does elderly Beau Weston's Farms account . Beau's granddaughter Elizabeth lives with him and works the farm along side Beau . During their meetings though out the following six months Beau talked about Lizzie and asked Scott to assist Lizzie with her business ideas so she could hold on to the farm should something happen to him . Scott learned alot about Lizzie listening to Beau . Several months go by and Scott learns Beau has past and he feels for Lizzie . Finally he goes to offer help . Scott and Lizzie struggle somewhat but Scott persists . When bad things start happening around the farm . Scott steps up to keep Lizzie safe and try to get answers to why and who is behind things happening . This story is truely beautiful and well written and the characters are wonderful and unique . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

I so want to find this small town of Baytown and meet the amazing men and women who live and love to the fullest. Scott is a war vet and an amputee but that doesn’t slow him down, he is partners in an accounting firm and befriends one of his clients, Beau, who has nothing but praise for his granddaughter who works his land. When Beau passes away, Scott finally meets the woman who Beau adored and is smitten. Lizzie feels Beau’s loss deeply, being a loner with not many friends she is alone until Scott offers his services to help her grow her business. She’s reluctant but decides she needs help...and help her does in more ways than one as someone is out to get her and drive her off her land.
An amazing read with steam and a slow sensual build up with these two that was perfect. The suspense is there and kept me flipping the pages, but the sparks and connection between these two, had me glued to them. I LOVED the little to no drama between them, the communication, honesty and openness between them made me swoon. The friends and family coming together to help had me smiling from ear to ear. I LOVED Scott’s patience and Lizzie’s determination and finally her realization that she wasn’t alone. I LOVED the epilogue which was perfect with a surprise that once again had me smiling.

Wow... just wow! This is Scott and Lizzie’s story of Maryann Jordan’s Baytown Boys. Scott returns from the military as an amputee and puts his roots down in Baytown to take his part in his grandfather’s accounting firm. Lizzie is a hardworking independent young woman who was raised by her grandfather Beau Weston and loves farming and the land as much as her Papa Beau. Scott helped Beau with all of his affairs and when the farm was passed on to Lizzie, he was determined to work with Lizzie to make her dream for Weston Farm become a reality.
When outside forces come into to play to break Lizzie and force her to sell her beloved farm, Scott steps in and is determined to not only save the farm but to win Lizzie’s trust and heart.
Maryann Jordan hits it out of the park again. Bringing together all the Baytown Boys in another story of a band of brothers who, with their growing families of wives and children, continue to strengthen their bond through brotherhood and love. I received this book as an ARC prior to its release and this is an honest and truthful review. If I could give it more than a 5 star review, I would!

This 12th book in the series about the “boys”, now men who either grew up in Baytown or have come to make a new life in the town after their time in the military, centers around Scott Redding and Lizzie Weston.
Scott is working as an accountant in the firm started by his grandfather. Lizzie works and lives in the family farm alongside her grandfather Beau. A man that taught her to love the land and one who has been open to Lizzie’s new ideas. A man that indirectly brought Scott and Lizzie together.
Both Scott and Lizzie had to deal with changes in their lives and both have become stronger because of it.
Though there is some action in the story, it’s pace is slower than some of the previous books. Still making this at times bittersweet story, one about family, or lack thereof, new beginnings, hope and the possibility of love.
Another enjoyable book in the series. If you have read the previous ones, something I highly recommend, you’ll get a chance to “visit” with some of the characters of the previous stories.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I cannot stress enough how much I love the Baytown Boys Books. They bring joy to my heart with their good, honest romance and tales of men who still know how to do the right things in life. Scott has had tragedy in his life the least of which is when he lost part of his leg in war. Even though he is a handsome guy, he hasn't found a woman who is willing to see past his amputation. Lizzie's life revolves around the farm she lives on with her Grandfather Beau so she hasn't had time for friendships or romance. When Beau dies she finds herself alone except for her beloved animals or is she? Prior to his death her Grandfather enlisted Scott, an accountant to assist with the finances and future security of the farm. Against all odds, Scott introduces Lizzie to romance as well as true friends from Baytown and it turns out that she will need their help as sometime targets her farm. I cannot stress how wonderful the writings of Maryann Jordan is and if you have the need to feel good about a book, this is the author you need to reach for.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

Love these Baytown Boys and the strong women they find happiness with! This is Scott and Lizzie’s turn! Lizzie is trying her best to hold on to her family farm after the death of her beloved grandfather. Scott, her grandfather’s accountant, is only trying to help Lizzie plan for the future, but she misunderstands and pushes him away. When she realizes that accepting help and making new friends is one of the best things that could happen to her and with Scott’s guidance her plans for the farm are looking up.

An amputee, courtesy of his military service, has Scott worried that Lizzie could react badly to his prosthetic leg and place him right into the friend only zone. He is surprised and happy that it makes no difference to Lizzie and their sweet and passionate relationship grows but trouble on the farm begins with cut fences and poison. Someone wants the land. Is it the developer who wants to build or the owner of a large scale neighboring farm? Will Lizzie’s dream for her farm survive or will all be taken away?

I received an ARC of this book, but my review is my own and I have already pre-ordered the book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sadness, pain, suspense, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first

Just One More Chance (Baytown Boys #2)
Clues of the Heart (Baytown Boys Series)
Finding Peace (Baytown Boys #4)
Picking Up the Pieces (Baytown Boys #5)

Guarding Your Heart (Baytown Boys #9)

This is Lizzie and Scott’s story. Scott wants to live the best life but not be knows as an amputee. When he set out to help Beau Weston, he never knew how much help they would be to each other. Lizzie will do anything to help her grandfather keep his farm. But when Scott turns up to help, she is not impressed. But the more time they spend together helping on the farm the better they learn to understand each other. Can they save the farm, or will Lizzie lose more than the farm?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

I really connected with Lizzie in this story – she’s prickly, sad, brave, and unsure of herself and the people round her – but she never sees Scott as anything but whole, and that alone says a great deal about her character. She faces huge stresses in this book, from her grandfather’s death to the shady attempts to get her to sell, and she handles them all, possibly not elegantly, but she overcomes them. Scott is, of course, instrumental in much of the overcoming, particularly of the shady aspects, but he never overwhelms her own coping abilities. It tkes a while for Lizzie to see Scott’s good points and to fall for him, and that makes the book even better. No way would there be an instalove in the scenario that Maryann Jordan presents in this book. The Baytown Boys are back, and this is probably my favorite of the series (this may hold only till the next one!). It’s also delightful to watch Lizzie realize that she is part of the community, and that they all have her back – she is so well written.

I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

When Scott was in Afghanistan he was seriously injured and discharged from the military and is a resident of Baytown and now a partner with Lia McFarlane in the accounting business. Lizzie worked the Weston Farm with her grandfather Beau, she loved to work on the land but was so lonely sometimes and with few friends. When Beau dies Lizzie is absolutely devastated and all alone so Scott goes to see if he can help but things don't go as planned. What will happen between Scott and Lizzie, will they get a chance to be together and be happy. There are twists and turns as Scott and Lizzie try to save the farm from someone trying to force Lizzie out. Another amazing story in the Baytown series, this book is a real page turner and you have to keep reading to see what happens next and it is so addictive. Maryann Jordan is an incredible author and writer and all her books including this one are a must read and you definitely will not be disappointed.

Scott and Lizzie's story

Scott's partner turned Beau over to him. Scott's accounting practice fit Beau's needs better than hers. While working with Beau Scott heard about Beau's Granddaughter Lizzie. He was very proud of her and her plans for the future of their farm. He wanted Scott to meet with her to discuss her plans. Before they could arrange a meet Beau died. At his funeral Scott realized how alone Lizzie was. She had spent her time on the farm and had no friends. Scott tried to offer her help but she rejected him. What could be know about running a farm. Scott talked to some of the women from the axillary. They usually visited after funerals so they would be visiting her soon. Lizzie was growing on Scott but he was unsure how she would accept his missing leg. we need acceptance, planning to make the farm work, someone trying to force her to sell her farm and most of all them falling in love.
As usual a great story with believable characters. Always a pleasure to read.

I love this series. There’s something innately comforting when I start one of these books. I think it’s the small town mentality that shows love, compassion and neighbourly spirit. It also helps that the guys are drop dead gorgeous with huge hearts. All of them in some way have served their country be it in the military or the law enforcement capacity. Scott is no different but he has the added burden of losing part of his leg so when he comes home life is an adjustment, but he never lets it stop him from doing everything he wants. Meeting Lizzie Completes him in ways he never knew it could. Lizzie is solitary by necessity not choice and when she meets Scott after a huge loss, he settles her soul in a way she never could have imagined. Their story has drama and some suspense but ultimately it’s about finding the person who completes you. This was a beautiful love story. Throw in some special animals you have an awesome book. I loved it.

Love Baytown!!

Every time I read a new Baytown I remind myself that I need to go back and read this amazing series again! Every new book is just as good as the previous I am absolutely never disappointed. Always on the edge of my seat waiting to see who the bad guy is and why! This book was absolutely no exception. Great writing and wonderful characters. Scott we of course new from earlier Baytown books but it was fun seeing him get his own story and learning more about him. Lizzie was a brand new charachter , she has alot to add to the series. I loved seeing her open up to Scott and the other women in the pervious books. Scott was definitely alpha and very swoony amd sexy. Lizzie is independent but it was nice to see her realize she can still be strong while maintining independence and getting help! I always love the addition of the American Legion and The Auxiliary. Great book and great series! Enjoy!

After Scott’s military career can to a premature end due to an injury he finds himself back in Baytown and is a partner in an accounting firm. While helping one of his clients with their farm they developed a special relationship so when he passes away Scott is determined to help his granddaughter Lizzie ensure the ongoing profitability of the farm.

The farm has always been home to Lizzie and she worked there all her life. She is determined to honor her grandparent’s legacy even if it means accepting help from Scott. As they spend time together the chemistry between them escalates but so does the danger as someone else wants the farm as well and is willing to go to extreme lengths to ensure that happens. Will they be able to stop the threats before it is too late?

Although they both have their moments of doubt there is no denying that they are much stronger together than apart.

What Really Counts

Scott Redding has moved to Baytown. He's partner in an accounting firm that use to be his granddad's. Formerly in the Army he's returned home injured, but not damaged. When he meets Beau Weston, a local farmer and Viet Nam Vet, Scott becomes Beau's friend and accountant. When Lizzie Weston takes over the Weston Farm, she has plenty of new ideas. And Scott finds himself more than willing to support and encourage her. What soon becomes apparent is there are several individuals interested in stopping Lizzie's dreams. Each threat on the farm and livestock is scarier than the last. But Lizzie is not one to run, and Scott is determined to protect her. Their blossoming romance, loyal friends and family and ever escalating threats to the farm make this a gripping and interesting mystery. As always in Baytown the community and the characters in it keep you fascinated to the end.

I have been following Maryann for a while now, and I always get excited when she comes out with a new book, and it was no different this time.

Count on Me had me hooked as soon as I opened the book. Just when I thought I knew where Maryann was going with the book, it went in a whole new direction which I love, because the suspense was so very good.

This is a beautiful love story between a former military guy who happened to loses a part of himself in a terrible accident and a beautiful girl who helps her grandfather on their farm and pretty much keeps to herself. A loss brings these two together, and in the end they help each other out. But will their love story prevail or are they just meant to be friends in the end.

You must read this amazing book to find out. Way to go Maryann, job well done.

Count on Me was an AWESOME addition to Maryann Jordan’s Baytown Boys. Lizzie owns Weston Farms after her grandfather passes away. She is doing everything she can to hold onto the farm. Scott is the accountant that her grandfather trusted to help Lizzie once he passed away. Scott and Lizzie get off to a rocky start, but eventually they find their way to each other. Lizzie begins to have problems at her farm and Scott will do whatever it takes to protect Lizzie. I loved the two of them together, they balanced out each other. I loved their interactions with each other, especially when discussing Scott’s prosthesis. Maryann Jordan to a great job keeping us hooked til the end and I was shocked to find out who the bad guy was. This person was never on my radar. I can’t wait for the next one, especially if it is Joseph and Sam! I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review.

Another awesome Baytown Boys installment. When Scott's character was introduced in a prior book I was not really intrigued at the time. But he definitely came into his own.

The beginning was a little strange with a few jumps in time - small interactions with Beau and then another one a few months later. However, it really did set the story of Scott & Lizzie up well. It also gave us time to get to know more about Scott before he met Lizzie.

Generally, Count On Me is a seret story about two people that really fit well even though their backgrounds are so different.

There is some intrigue/mystery with some things going on around the farm, but really isn't the main part of the story.

Two people, getting to know one another and realizing they have met their other half. Not easy, but shows with commitment, listening and figuring things out together, life can be beautiful.

Whenever I read one of Maryann Jordan's Baytown Boys books I always feel like I am going home to visit family and friends. I feel happy as I read and contented when I finish the book. They are just feel good romances woven around remarkable set of characters.

Scott Redding lost a lot in Afghanistan but in coming back to Baytown he gained so much more. He found love and his happily ever after. Lizzie Weston's life is the farm and her grandfather. After losing her grandfather she feels truly alone for the first time in her life until Scott steps in to offer a helping hand and friendship. It's readily apparent that there's more than friendship bubbling just beneath the surface. When mishaps at the farm begin to occur Scott becomes Lizzie's protector and her staunchest ally. Baytown folk rally around Lizzie in her time of need and she feels truly accepted.
