The protagonist of the story is Varun Krishna, he belonged to a middle class family and like every middle class family, he has a dream and worked really hard to ful fill his dream that is to become an IITian. The story starts in current frame, then it falls back thirty years into the past. I like the character development of the protagonist as there are all majority events of his life from schooling to adulthood has been covered. Few incidents I can really relate like, the one in which he got offer of three lakh rupees to change his school, that took place exactly with my brother when he scored really good in his tenth board examinations. If we see generally, I liked the storyline. The plot is not so different or unique, but I can relate man day today stories of a student’s life. So I enjoyed reading that. I like the inclusion of all those incidents. The book is written in simple and easily understandable language so that everyone can enjoy reading it. The story moves at a faster pace so I liked that. After few chapters, story took unexpected turn, that was quite unpredictable. And it’s really inspirational at times. I think the whole youth, who all are planning for startup, should read this. Overall good one.

While “Chhichhore“ movie entertains us in the theatres, this novel won’t disappoint the sports lover readers among us. Both the stories revolve around the parental support today’s generation craves rather need in this cut-throat era of competition. Also, these stories have our prestige institutes & sports in it. Making it, a complete package of entertainment. Maybe, it’s just a coincidence that I read & watched these stories in the same week. But I must say I liked them equally.

The language of the book is really easy and you need not refer to a dictionary every now & then. Though there are few grammatical & spelling mistakes, you will still enjoy the plots thoroughly. It is a gripping and catchy story that made me smile and feel emotional at the same time. Its length is just perfect for a story like this. Everyone who has lived a hostel life will be able to relate to it at some point in time. It also shows the role of a father in his son’s life at different stages of life.

Zero Not Out: Every journey has to end, for a new beginning by Vamshi KrishnaI don’t want to share more spoilers but, I would definitely salute the author’s effort to address this critical issue our young population is facing nowadays. Since he is an IITian himself, he understands the pain better. The depression & pressure that follows are known to everyone but are addressed by none. After studying so hard for the entrance exams & clearing the tedious years of college, when the kids fail to secure the job they deserve, the take steps like suicide. Our author has not only addressed this issue beautifully but he has also shown how technology can be used to fight it. His efforts will definitely benefit our young generation & to some extent curb youth suicides.

In his first fiction novel, author Vamshi Krishna has done justice to the subject & gave readers a prospective into the issue & its probable solution. His creativity in terms of plots is commendable & the way he deals with emotions is remarkable. Though the initial story looks similar to many bestselling novels, gradually it stands out.

I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars for its amazing plots & author’s courage to address a critical issue. Withholding one star for the old storyline & average editing.

♥️"Loneliness is the root cause of depression ultimately leading to suicides"
.
🌸Book Name -- Zero not out
🌸Author Name -- Vamshi Krishna
.
🔴Our education system is all about competition.
Parents, teachers everyone wants us to score highest and stood first in class. Ever since we are in school, our minds have been tuned in such way that if we fail to secure good marks or campus job, we are failing. That creates pressure on us to do the same and If we cannot meet the expectations of the family, then we think of doing suicide.
.
🔴The story is about main protagonist Varun, who was from middle class family and has aimed to do engineering from IIT. He did get the admission with his hard work, but destiny has different plans for him. He met Nitya in his college and fell in love. Their relationship was going smoothly till one day Varun received the bad news of his life. That made him depressed and was not able to lead his life the way he wants to.
.
What was the news that made varun's life hell??
Will he able to overcome from his depression??
.
⚫I love how author Beautifully describes middle class family issues and parents want their children to live a happy life and not go through any financial problems which they have to go through during their life.
⚫The best part is the strong bonding between
Father-son. Varun's father was always there with him whenever he needs him.
⚫How supportive Parents play an important part in our life. Their support starting from studies, didn't pressurised us to get good grades, teaching us to accept defeat, teaching us to deal with our problems, teaching us its ok to fail sometime and not to lose hope in any situation.
⚫The characters are very nicely described. Varun's best friend Karan was the best part of the story. Their bonding was strong, even after their college life.
⚫Plot is very engaging and interesting. Narration is smooth starting from Varun's school life to launching his mobile app everything is written Beautifully.
⚫The cover is very simple, could have been better.
⚫With the Easy and understandable language story keeps you entertained.
⚫Between the story author has written his thoughts which was making the story more interesting..

Hopeful, beautifully written, and nothing short of spectacular, Zero Not Out by Vamshi Krishna wraps the reader in for a long and amazing journey full of laughs and tears and smiles as Varun and Nitya meet in campus and love blossoms between them.

They say everything can change in one quick second, but Varun never realized this until that fateful day when everything fell apart. Before that day, Varun was the average boy: smart, intelligent, and pleasant. He had a picture perfect family life, a best friend Karan who he could count on, and the promise of an amazing future with Nitya. However, everything changes when Varun and Nitya separated because of an unfortunate event, soon after their final year in college. Filled with grief and anger, Varun does not know what to do, or who to blame. Will he ever be able to move on? Only time and more pages can tell in this fantastic story of grief, loss, and moving on.

To begin with, I loved the characters in this, especially Varun and Nitya. Charming and sweet, Varun was relatable and likable from the start. However, what I liked best about him was the fact that anyone would be able to resonate with his feelings. I particularly adored his relationship with Nitya, not only because of the way it was developed slowly, but it was based on so much more than just attraction; instead feelings and actions played a big role, and I loved that. The side characters in this were also a breath of fresh air, as each one had their own distinctive personality that added an extra flavour to the story.

From the plot lines, to the characters, and finally the writing, each played such a huge part in making this story simply fantastic! Best of all, I loved that Zero Not Out was so much more than just a book, it was more about moving on and coming to peace with the past while keeping part of it close.

As mentioned before, Vamshi Krishna's writing was also fabulous. He truly knows how to write an emotional read, which makes you truly think. So, prepare for a long night, as Vamshi Krishna’s spectacular debut is one you will not be able to put down once you start.

The most precious gift, God that given us is our family. In the race of achieving our dreams and reaching higher goals , we often overlook their importance in our life. No matter whatever the problem we are struck into, our parents always stand as our supporting pillars. Zero Not Out by Vamshi Krishna has brought light to this essential yet undiscussed subject.

Varun Krishna, son of a taxi-driver was brilliant enough to crack one of the toughest examination of India i.e JEE. Vishwanath has dutifully supported his son's aims and choices from the beginning. After successfully getting admission in one of the prestigious college of engineering, Varun has accustomed himself with that lifestyle. In the very first year, he fall in love with a Tamil girl Nitya Iyer, who was a classical dancer with an intelligent mind. Both of them have decided to continue their lives together.

But destiny has planned something else to happen. Just when they were about to graduate, Varun got the most obnoxious news of his life. Soon all his dreams for future was mercilessly shattered. A vibrant boy has turned into a dishevelled person. His family's efforts in bringing him back to his original self continue the next part of the story.

The irresistible pressure to get placed in lucrative companies among young students was finely discussed in the story. But the second part was a bit uninteresting for me. I feel that the author has tried to put more focus in expanding the storyline. The pace which which it has began has lost its track somewhere in the middle of the story. In order to make it more appealing, author could have focused on the important issue highlighted in the preface. However, the way he put forward the role of a father in a family was appreciable. Also Mahi's strong willpower was inspiring for me. It was overall a good read with a striking title.

My Rating- 3/5

"It's your game and you have to play it your own way. If you are beaten and down because of your opponents, get up and deal with it."

The story starts with the protagonist, Varun Krishna, trying to find investors for his startup. Varun has designed an app called 'Read the Game' with the aim to increase the awareness of mental fitness in teenagers and current youth.
From there, the author takes us on a journey of Varun's childhood.
At a young age itself, Varun dreams of getting into one of the top IITs . He worked hard for the same and got admission in IIT-BHU, Varanasi. It was the time of a lot of firsts - first time leaving home, first time staying in hostel, and first love!
Varun adjusted quickly to the college and hostel life. He made new friends, got selection in cricket team. Everything was going smoothly and - he met Nitya. The next three years of college went in a rush.
Two days after graduation came the phone call which left Varun shattered. That incident put him on a self destruction mode.

Varun's family is a perfect example for an Indian middle class family. His parents always wanted to provide the best for him. They find joy in his happiness. All they want is to always see the smile on his face.
The author emphasises on the issue of mental health and depression. When expectation doesn't come in par with reality it leads to disappointment. Being under constant pressure can leave young minds astray.

The story reminds us that not everything is permanent ( not even our pain) All it takes is one moment to snatch all the happiness away from us. But that doesn't mean we should stop trying. All we can do is accept the reality, stop being hard on ourselves and move on.
" Every journey has to end, for a new beginning "

So this story is one of those which will boost you up for fulfilling your aim and get success.

Varun the main character of the book has strong dedication towards his studies and dreams, he always wanted to make his parents feel proud on himself. He did it so well no doubt.
Many difficulties and hurdles tried to stop him but his parents came inbetween and supported him in each and every point.
They wanted their Varun to get admission in IIIT college , they never forced him to do anything without his interest.

Where, Varun lost Nitya, his parents supported him a lot and tried each possible way to get him back.

Mahi and Karan as a friend has too dedicative role. Mahi being suffering from loss of his parents haven't losed hope of living, whereas, Karan supported him as a Best Friend.

Karuna as a mother and Vishwanath as a father has played a vital role in Varun's life, later on they married their son to Kavya - simple and elegant girl...!

Here, one of the part shows, education system of our country which became a part of earning only.

Zero Not Out is the story of an IITian named Varun Krishna, who hails from a middle-class family in Hyderabad. He dreams of clearing the toughest exam in the world—IIT entrance exam, and achieves it with his hard work.

He joins IIT-BHU where he falls in love with a Chennai girl named Nitya Iyer. Throughout the four years of engineering, their love life goes smoother and lovelier. Both of them are deeply in love with each other and have plans to get married.

However, destiny has some other plans for them. They are parted when they finish their college life and are about to meet each other’s parents.

Along with Nitya and Varun’s love story, you get to see a highly-supportive father who is there for his son in all circumstances. He doesn’t put pressure of anything on Varun and let him do the things he really wants to do.

Engineers in India

Author Vamshi Krishna has also focused on why a large number of engineers in India remain unemployed. He has written about the harsh reality that most of the IITians lose their focus on academics once they crack the IIT-JEE. Classrooms and classes start to bore them.

And when they can’t get placed in a big company or can’t do what is expected from their families and relatives, they get depressed and pressurized. This leads to suicide cases, which has become a very common thing among students in India.

To control the suicides rates in the country and around the world, Varun comes with an innovative startup idea.

Zero Not Out book was very much relatable for me, as I also hail from a middle-class family who studied engineering and lived a hostel life. It is a gripping and catchy story that made me smile, feel emotional at times, and think about things that need to be changed in our lives.

Vamshi Krishna has written the backend of a successful life in a very creative manner. He has got good writing skills which won’t make you realize that it is his first fiction book.

The story starts with Varun Krishna pitching his startup ideas about an app while his father is undergoing a major surgery back at his home town. During which Varun runs a sequence of how he has grown up to his current level, a boy from a middle class family in Hyderabad to reaching the gates of IIT-BHU after clearing one of the India's toughest exam IIT-JEE to pursue civil engineering.

Varun has always been a bright learner whose life revolved around studies, parents and cricket. His entry at IIT-BHU is a turning point of his life as as this would be his first stay away from his parents.

He would also meet his love, Nithya Iyer and his mentor Mahi brother, Captain of the college cricket team. He got well with his new atmosphere soon and made new friends. He also got selected in the cricket team.

The next three years of college goes well but towards the graduation Varun is shattered when a very misfortunate event turns up. This takes Varun into a self destruction mode.

From here the story moves towards how Varun manages to build himself riding on emotions. What impact Mahi creates on Varun and role of family when you require them most. The role of father is also well emphasized in the story.

The Story ponders the issue of mental health and depression. We would get a realization that not everything in life is permanent and it too shall pass. What is required from us is to stay positive and accept all opportunity which comes our way.

Our next step should be to rise from a failure and move forward as said by the author "Every Journey has to End, for a New Beginning".

Full review on my blog:
https://blog.medhaapps.com/2019/09/bo...

Varun Krishna is pitching his startup idea about an app that helps avert suicidal thoughts through personal coaching to prospective investors while his father is undergoing a major surgery back home. Varun reminisces his journey so far, how he transformed from the young lad hailing from a middle class family in Hyderabad, cracking the prestigious IIT-JEE exam and getting admission in IIT-BHU where he choses Civil engineering as his discipline. Varun's life was filled with studies, parents and cricket till Nitya Iyer, enters his life. Its love at first sight for Varun as he pursues Nitya in his own forth right style.

The rest of the story is about how Varun sails through his adolescent years handling the hectic study schedule at IIT, hostel life with friends, cricket and his love Nitya, figuring out career choices. The story also traces how life can be unpredictable and seemingly cruel at times and how Varun falls and rises in life, how life teaches him valuable lessons and how he ultimately shapes his personal and professional life.

The story is a realistic and practical account tracing the life of Varun who could well be any common boy in this country, with very simple dreams and goals. The story backdrop of IIT filled with romance, studies, chasing career goals might sound cliched as an idea because of the number of books centered around this theme in recent times. However, what makes the book endearing is the way the author narrates Varun's story with honesty and in a way which can be related by the majority. However, after an impressive first half, the narration suffers due to unnecessary sequences and a complete change in Varun's persona. While his pain and sorrow are justified, I couldn't find reason for certain scenes towards the end like the abrupt introduction and end of the character Sneha as she does not play any role in transforming Varun.

The story also seems rushed towards the end with Varun's character changing dynamically every few pages. With better editing and better second half, the story could have been more entertaining. Also, the author tried to include too many issues and situations in the second half, which could have been better phased out. Pick this one for a story with equal doses of romance and message around engineering studies, peer pressure and navigating through life in the face of adversities.

In Zero Not Out, Vamshi Krishna explores what it means to survive. Though there are many such stories in similar genre, this novel stands out. It examines not just the grief, but the process of learning to live again when nothing will ever be the same. Varun is understandably a mess. Author's portrayal of Varun's struggle as he figures out how to carry on is heartbreakingly raw and honest. There are ups and downs and setbacks, people who try to help but can't, and those few crystallized moments where the light at the end of the tunnel briefly illuminates the darkness.

During his college days, Varun falls in love with Nitya. Initially she won't return his affection but later they're in love with each other and start to see the future together. But destiny has some other plans. Because of a horrific event, they separated soon after they finished the college.

It is inspiring to see Varun's family and friends rally around him, even as he pushes them away in his depression. Unlike many similar genre novels, Varun's parents are a steady and necessary presence in the story. They're amazing, compassionate people who drops everything to care for the son they fiercely love.

The relationship between Varun and his best friends Karan and Mahi starts off strong. They have been best friends forever. It was hopeful that they would be a grounding force in the novel, staying at Varun's side through it all.

Zero Not Out by Vamshi Krishna is a powerful tale of tragedy, loss, and moving on. Readers will be engaged to the story almost from page one, at both the magnitude of human compassion and the horror of unfathomable loss.

Book- Zero Not Out (Every Journey has to end, for a new beginning)
Author- Vamshi Krishna
Type- Fiction
Format- Paperback
Publishers- Invincible Publishers

Humans enjoy being loved by someone. They adore getting adored by someone. They enjoy it when some makes them centre of their life and above all, the feeling of being needed by someone is of utmost importance to them.

Zero Not Out is a fiction book by Vamshi Krishna which is a story of Varun who was studying in one of the top IIT college. He falls in love with Nitya Iyer when he gets into college. Gradually college life gets over and resultantly, they had to go separate ways. It becomes difficult for the Varun whose family was also in a miserable condition. Will Arun be able to shape his good career?

1. Language of the book was easy and comfortable.
2. Narration style of the author was good.
3. Plot and main characters were well developed and portrayed through out the story.
4. Book cover was beautiful. Title was captivating.
5. Emotions were very beautifully expressed in the writing style of author.

Story was divided into 36 small chapter. It can be read in one sitting. Author has very well executed the story. The best thing I liked was that author has narrated harsh reality of this world (including education system of India) in the book in italic fonts. This was really eye catching and attractive.
I really recommend this beautiful story for fiction lovers.

Journey of an Entrepreneur

The book starts with Varun Krishna presenting his startup to investors. He has made an app which will help the students who are so depressed that they want to end their life.
Later the book describes his journey from being son of a auto driver to become an IITian. His school life, college life, first love, his love for cricket, everything has been talked about in this book.
The character of Varun Krishna is shown a very good boy type. He doesn't have any flaw. I don't think anyone can be this perfect. But, then there comes a point in book where he says something to a girl. I won't reveal it because it will spoil the book for you. But it was something which made me feel like what the hell. I stopped reading the book for some time. Even the book ends but there doesn't come a single reference for that girl again. He didn't even apologize. It really bothered me.
This book could have been much better if instead of other things how he made the app has been described in detail. That part could have been better.
Although book is in simple language. Easy to understand and relatable for many IITians and specially for students. The best part that I loved was how this book talks about the contribution of our parents to our lives.
I would recommend if you want an easy read about IIT and these start up this.

Zero not out is a story of an engineer name Varun Krishna, who belongs from a middle-class family. As a typical family who works hard to fulfill all his only child dream and invest in his career. Varun's story is also similar to it. He is brilliant in his academics as well as sports. In his teenage, he falls in love and after his graduation, his life takes a sharp U-turn.

Review
It's a journey of every common man and woman. Like a typical 90's movie, a guy wants to accomplish his goals and wants to make his family proud. It sounds and looks like a cliched story. Quite a simple read but not much boring, you can read it in one go; within 2-3 hours.

A protagonist who has constantly supported by his family, friends, and professors. Addresses the problem which is going on in our education system. Feels an ache when a kid is burdened with society and family pressure and wants to do create awareness of the mental illness. Before that, some people and situations take place in his life which completely shook him. The lessons he learned helped him to move on and contribute to society.

Satisfactory Moral but okay for a one time read. Some characters were really decent and played the fairest. But it could have been more adventurous and bold.

And would love to read some new thriller story from the author @vamshi2509

Varun Krishna works hard to achieve his dream of getting into an IIT, where he also finds his first love which he unfortunately loses. After losing his love he gets himself into drinking and his Kabir Singh mode's turned on. I guess I shouldn't be telling you more but at the end our hero Varun Krishna realises what he got himself into was wrong and builds a startup which aims at curbing suicide.
.
The process of him getting into an IIT, and his first love was the major part of the book. It was all nice and good. I was liking the book so far until I found few things in it which felt like I've already seen them happen.📍 There's this one instance where Varun's gf Nitya calls him in the midnight and takes him with her to help a prostitute getting into an hospital for her delivery. This particular scene, I've seen in a movie already (Kirik Party). And the Kabir Singh mode. This isn't a coincidence. The author has "copied" scenes from the movies and has put them into his book. And, I am damn sure about this.

Zero not out is a simple story of an engineer name Varun Krishna(sounds a lot like the author, no?), who belongs from a middle-class family. As an Indian family which wants their child's dream to realize and invest in his career, Varun's story is also similar to it. He is brilliant in his academics as well as sports. Then comes the teenage, when he falls in love and soon after his life takes a sharp U-turn.

It's a journey of every common person. A guy who wants to accomplish his goals and to make his family proud. Sounds a bit cliched, yes. Quite a simple breezy read.

A protagonist who is constantly supported by his family, friends, and professors, later addresses the problems in our education system and feels sorry for a kid burdened by societal pressures and hence, wants to do create awareness of the mental illness. His life has his own tragedies. Looking for more from the author.
