As usual, Christie Watson finds herself neck deep in trouble, but she can’t help herself. When there’s a murder to solve, this Boston detective can’t help herself, and it doesn’t help that the town of Sleepy Creek keeps leaving one body after another in her path. This time, local florist Nelly Boggs is attacked and her mother is murdered. The cast of quirky characters file through the pages, keeping the reader entertained while heading toward the climax.

Heroine Christie seemed to exhibit more of a take charge attitude, which could be due to the extra latitude she received from local lawman Liam Balle (Christie has been directed by her Boston superior to refrain from working as a detective while in Sleepy Creek). I liked this side of her, and it seemed to add a bit of zip to the tale.

While I am not a huge fan of cozy mysteries, the Burger Bar series is enjoyable. The reading is light and I tend to sail quickly through each book. What is becoming more interesting is the story arc that is touched upon in each book, the murder of Christie’s mother. Author Rosie A. Point has leaked a bit of the story in past outings, although there wasn’t much of anything new this time around. How Ms. Point handles this will definitely have an effect on future books. So far, I am still hooked. Four stars.

Another case full of suspicions and possible betrayals derails Christie's birthday plans. But even while toeing the line and suspecting the very friend who doesn't seem to be too sad about her mother's death.

I can't wait to start the next one.

Christie Watson is trying very hard to stay out of trouble in Sleepy Creek. She is currently helping her friend out at the Burger Bar and keeping her nose out of trouble while on leave as a homicide detective. She has already been warned to stay out of the Sleepy Creek’s police business, but when a friend is attacked and her mother is the victim of the crime, Christie finds herself in the thick of things. Can she solve the case before another victim is claimed?

This is a cozy mystery with great writing and storytelling, lots of humor and zany characters, and a mystery with tons of twist and turns.

Another great addition to the series. This is definitely one that I would read in order because things are tying together very nicely. I love the murder mystery of this one and figuring out whodunnit before Christie does. It was hard, which is perfect. Rosie does a great job giving other options and misleading you. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Deflective Detective

Hmmm 🤔, two steps forward & three steps backwards 🤦🏾‍♀️. …Now with only two books left in this series the detective’s spidey senses are/were either distracted & or on sabbatical too 🤭‼️Nevertheless, “The Breakfast Burger Murder (Burger Bar Mystery - Book 4)” was a good read but the dud duo of Balle & Cotton haven’t investigated nor solved one murder case yet‼️Ugh, why not⁉️ Is it just me or is/was there a disproportionate amount of deflective detective work in the Sleepy Creek’s PD 🤨. …representation with no compensation‼️That’s disrespectful‼️Dang, the gender discrimination struggle is pervasive 🤭🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️‼️

Christie was helping out a friend by working on her case but she was being a little better about not doing anything illegal, ok maybe one little thing, lol. She faced down a scary killer but had some help from an unexpected source. Christie got a nice surprise at the end for her birthday from Liam, so it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the series goes as we move closer to the spin-off series.

Another winner!

I have read all four books in the Burger Bar mystery series and haven't figured out who the "bad guys" were in any of them!! This fourth offering is not as fast-paced as the last one, but every bit as satisfying. I hope anyone who reads the comments will also read the books.

Great story

I am excited to start reading the next book. It is most enjoyable because you can relate to the characters and their lives.

Each addition to the series brings it closer and closer to completion of the main plot line. The character development of the main character grows while the other cast continues to be flat.

I love this latest book in the Burger Bar Mystery series! Each book has a great story of its own, but protagonist Christie - a Boston detective on involuntary leave - has a sneaking suspicion that the alarming amount of recent murders in her small town may all be connected in some way. I really like Christie and her practical and methodical way of investigating the mysteries that keep popping up in town. She just can't seem to stay away from investigating, even though she isn't supposed to do it while she's on leave. And the featured Burger Bar burger in each book makes me want to experiment in the kitchen!

In The Breakfast Burger Murder, Christie is compelled to find out the truth behind the murder of her friend Nelly's mother, trying to find out more about the oddly apathetic Nelly, Nelly's new, mysterious boyfriend, and Nelly's recently-discovered half-brother. It's an engaging story that kept me hooked til the very end. Though I always recommend starting a series from the beginning to have a deep understanding of all the characters and their back stories, this book easily reads as a stand-alone for anyone who hasn't read the first 3.

I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

Review of book: Breakfast Burger Mystery (a Burger Bar mystery #4)
Christie Watson is our main detective in this series. She is supposedly on hiatus from her Boston job. Only she really can't resist when a murder falls in her lap literally while she is on hiatus!! Her friend Nelly's mom is murdered. Christie has friends in Sleepy Creek who help along the way. The mystery solving process involves finding various suspects who are suspected and dismissed or suspected some more until the end... I was guessing until the end!! I do like a good cozy mystery.

Christie is also trying to find her mother's murderer too. We have had some clues through this series. Waiting patiently for something to come together so Christie can learn the truth!! Maybe the next book....

Each mystery in this series has a featured burger. I have to say that the breakfast burger sure sounds good with an egg!! I love the cat Curly Fries that she has to take out for a walk for part of the kitty's weight loss program!! Too funny!! Burgers and curly fries! I love a book with a good sense of humor.

I received an advanced readers copy and am providing a review that is of my own honest opinion.

Christie Watson, a detective on sabbatical leave from her Boston position, is in the town of Sleepy Creek hoping to get answers in a cold case...her mother's murder. Staying with friend and boss Grizzy, she works at the Burger Barn, that is... she does when she's not investigating...and solving murders underneath the local department's radar.
When her friend Nellie is assaulted and her mother murdered, Christie again seeks out the clues and adds them up, but not before there is another murder. This time is different, Detective Liam Balle invites her to help and doesn't question her logic.
Quirky and quickly moving, I enjoyed this reading this tale.
I was offered the chance to read the ARC gratis and offer my opinion freely.

Dealing with a slew of more riders in her hometown without getting herself fired from her homicide detective job in Boston is a big challenge for our detective friend Christie.

Can she survive long enough while trying to keep her participation minimal to maybe get a crack at the investigation of the death of her mother?

The latest rash of murders hit close to home, and nearly took out the intrepid detective in the process.

Murder is a tricky family affair!

Another fantastic cozy mystery book in this series!

This time Christie investigates two murders. The first is Nelly's mother Martha who is shot in her mansion in Money Bags Town soon after moving into the home. Nelly and her unknown to her brother Grayson inherit the house. The second murder is when Grayson is also killed in the mansion while Christie, Grizzy and Nelly are downstairs. The murderer and his accomplice are unexpected. Highly recommend.

This is such a good series! Every book gets better and better. It’s easy to read, keeps your attention and leaves you wanting the next book in the series. I really like the main character, Christie. She tries so hard to stay out of trouble, but always seems to find it.
If you like cozy mysteries with strong female protagonists, smoothly written stories, entertaining plots and a little romance, then read this series!

Christie is enjoying her birthday morning when she’s informed of an attack on Nell and Nell’s mother. Although she’s again warned to say away from investigating, clues spring up in front of her. The Breakfast Burger Murder is an enjoyable novel with appealing characters and plot twists to keep me guessing.

Christie Watson did not expect to wake up to murder but it seems to find her wherever she goes. When one of her friends is attacked and her mother murdered, it hits too close to home. Can she solve this murder before the murderer attacks again? Another great addition to the series.

I like the characters and the writing style in this series. However my problem is that with so many murders happening within a few week period the people who live there just keep carrying on normally. Especially since so many of the murders involve townspeople.

I enjoy this series. They are short enough to get the story out there but doesn't drag on. There are some crazy characters in it that make the story somewhat comical which is a good thing. I look forward to the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout
