Now I'd like to fly that dragon...

Dragons have been chasing me my entire life, and now my best friend is shacked up with one of them and about to give birth. Normally I’d stay away, but I need to make sure he’s safe. And when I meet Mason, the only person I am worried about is myself…

Mason puts my omega instincts into overdrive and awakens something in me that’s been dormant forever. I hate feeling out of control, but I can’t walk away from him.

The good doctor wants to protect me from my past and the things that I’ve done, but no matter how hot desire burns between us I can’t surrender. But when old enemies put us all in danger, I’ll need a dragon alpha at my side if we’re going to survive.

His Dragon Protector 🎧Audiobook🎧 Review

MMy Thoughts and Review:

This is book two in the Divine Dragons Series, and it was smashing. While I enjoyed book one and loved getting acclimated to the world and the people who are special in this series, book two had the type of MCs readers live for.

Seth and Mason are everything readers love in a couple. In this story, even though fated mates play a role, the snarky, highly intelligent, street-savvy, take no crap, Omega Seth refuses to allow the sexy as sin, domineering Alpha, Mason to dictate what he should and should not do simply because it is in, "Seth's best interests." So Seth leads Mason on a chase, partly to see if he will follow, but also because Seth has unfinished business with his family whom he blames for the death of his father. This love/ hate relationship pushed Seth to do something and now his grandfather wants payback... In blood!

Seth and Mason drive each other nuts in this romantic comedy of a sort of enemies to lovers trope, complete with dragon shifters, crazy family mafia drama, and beautiful dragon eggs that hatch into cute baby dragons who then drive their parents cray-cray with climbing and jumping off high shelves and such! *phew... That wasn't a run-on sentence I swear!😂 The romance is there, but the love, the real genuine true love is hard-won, because Mason and Seth have to decide they want it, then they work to keep it. They just don't have it because of fate decided they were mates, even though the draw, passion, and chemistry (of mates) are there. Fated Mates are great, but sometimes I think it's okay to stand up and say you want more and for omegas to say, "You want it/ me, then, earn it. Show me why. Just don't expect my affection because fate said so." And yes, I give this same advice to omegas all the time. An old Dragon like me never tires of helping the fated of today. *giggle...

Great series so far. I love the characters, the Narration is good, the pacing is on point. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent Urban Paranormal Romance series. You won't be disappointed.

The Story: 4.50 🌟
The Narration: 4.00
Sharonica Stars: 4.25✨

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion.💐

Trying to break into his grandfather’s secure storage locker to steal his mother’s book – rightfully his anyway – Seth Preston managed to get caught by a cop as well as his grandfather’s security team. Figuring the cop was the safer bet, he angered the man so he would arrest him as the security team said no charges would be made against their boss’ grandson. They wouldn’t let him use his cell phone at the police station, and the only person he knew a last name for to contact for help was Mason Hardwick. He knew Mason had been following him, so he might just show up after he left a message for him. Mason did get the message and Carlisle sent a lawyer with him. Mason’s dragon was going crazy over the long wait, wanting to find Seth immediately.

Mason had known by Seth’s scent that he was his. Unfortunately, Seth has some plans he needs to carry out before he can turn his attention to anything else. Mason rescues him from jail, but soon Seth is targeted again. Will Mason be able to protect the Divine Omega that is his? Will Seth be willing to have a relationship with him at last?

Mason and Seth's story is fast-paced and holds the reader’s attention. Seth’s affinity for getting into trouble keeps things always in chaos. Contrasted with Mason's patience with him, one wonder’s how these two won’t drive each other crazy! Grab your copy and enjoy the lively interaction between them as Mason tries to get him to look at their future. Will Seth finally settle down?

I loved Haiden and Carlisle in the first book of this series and really liked that they weren't here just in a token appearance, but very involved, hence the three stars. I didn't care much for Seth when he was introduced at the end of that book and that feeling continued all through this one. He wants Mason but whines about it all the time, won't tell anyone what is going on, keeps running off and putting himself and everyone trying yo help him in danger. Mason also is irritating here. For a doctor and supposedly wise dragon he behaves stupidly by not explaining things about mating, pregnancy, eggs, alpha/omega dynamics, etc. to Seth and even totally forgets to think about condoms in their first non-bonded encounter. I have a hard time believing in them as fated mates or in a happily ever after for them. Will read the next book in the series and hope to see Haiden and Carlisle and new characters to root for. I enjoyed Gabriel Amari's narration very much. Hearing Mason improved my opinion of him from just reading the book, as I could hear his care and concern for Seth. Seth, however, still does not do it for me even hearing his voice with an excellent narrator.

I was a big fan of how this story started, but as it progressed I became more and more confused about Seth and Mason's relationship. Unlike Haiden, Seth was quite the firecracker of an omega, always running off to do his own thing. I loved his confidence as much as I loved how patient Mason was with all of his energy. Where things took a bit of a weird turn for me was when the mating aspect of the story came up. I don't know if I was misunderstanding Seth's intentions or if I just had trouble connecting with his real thoughts and emotions beyond the facade he presented to the rest of the world, but his bonding with Mason felt weirdly accidental to me. After seeing what a big deal it was for a dragon to mate with someone in the first book, I was a bit baffled by how casually it was thrown into this one. Seth's actions immediately after securing that bond only convinced me more that he had no idea what he wanted from Mason, and that confusion stuck with me for the rest of the story.

His Dragon Protector is the second book in the Divine Dragon series. The book can be read as a standalone, but it works better if it is read after the first book due to the continuation of the plot. This is a typical omegaverse book with fluff and mpreg. The characters were a bit quirky and made strange decisions that didn’t make sense. The plot was action-packed but also had a few plot holes and weird moments that didn’t flow for me. Overall, this is an average omegaverse book that despite its flaws is still entertaining and full of fluff.

Mason is an alpha dragon & a doctor.
Seth, a divine omega that doesn't trust dragons and believe they only wants him for breeding. He is also quite whiny, a trouble magnet and good to led Mason on and not even give him a chance.

I feel the romance & pregnancy was rush. While Mason is a sweetheart, Seth was not much a likable character and was quite fast to make assumption.

Those two are not my favorite couple in this series.

Sassy, can sustain, prop and empower! Seth, a Divine Omega, on a mission to steal one of his Mother's books from his grandfather's personal vault. He and his Dad gave the book to his grandfather to keep secure. Little did they know he was not a nice guy. The book contained secrets of his mother's dragon culture. Mason, is a doctor and a dragon who senses Seth is his mate. Seth, was wary of Mason, because up to recently, Haiden another Divine Omega and his Dad were the only ones who cared for Seth. Seth thought Mason could only be looking for sex. Seth, has different priorities than startng a relationship with anyone. Seth, has a miscalculation and chooses getting arrested by the cops rather than face his grandfather's goons. He calls Mason who rides to the rescue, with a lawyer. Mason spends his time trying to resist his feelings while protecting Seth. Seth spends his time fighting the feelings he has for Mason and looking over his shoulder. Mason is a straight up dragon. But Seth with all his quirks is a little contradictory. Nice story. Leaves many questions. Not as good as the first story, but there is time. Intriguing characters introduced. It will be fun hearing their stories. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

After running for so long, can you stop & accept what Fate has given you?

This is a great second book in the Divine Dragons saga. I couldn't put it down! I was pulled in at the start & not let go until the end. Old friends are here, drawing us back into their world & lives. Jill makes it so easy to care about the characters, even the minor ones. There are dragons, divine omegas, danger, family troubles, humor, loyal friends, and sexy scenes. You will love this book!
Dragons are a dying race. One hope is in the Divine omegas, men that can safely give birth to baby dragons. Some clans will do anything to get their hands on one. Seth has been running his whole life . Now he's running from not only his fated mate, but from his grandfather's mob goons. But when things go south, he calls Mason for help. Mason has been searching for Seth ever since he ran away. Now that he's found him, he won't let him go. As Mason & Seth travel toward HEA, they must compromise, and learn to tackle things together. Get. This. Book. Now!
If you haven't read book one, I recommend getting it. Besides the background story, it's a great book. You will enjoy it. I cannot wait for book three.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

This is a fascinating Mpreg dragon shifter romance that certainly grabbed my attention within a few pages & I really enjoyed reading it. I found the plot quite intriguing & written with a steady pace. It is interesting with likable, engaging characters although one of them (Seth) had a tendency to get into trouble & really gave the Doctor (Mason) a few heart-stopping moments. There are some character crossovers from the previous book but it can be read as a standalone.
There is: a half-dragon & Divine Omega (Seth) with some personal issues & on the run, his despicable Grandfather & mob boss (Matthias), a dragon shifter & Doctor (Mason) looking for his slippery mate, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, dragons shifters, mafia, law enforcement, adventure, action, humor, danger, threats, violence, complications, surprises, disbelief, accusations, discovery, shock, contentment, love, some steamy scenes & a well-deserved, satisfying conclusion. I look forward to the next book in this series & would recommend this book.

There’s so much inconsistency in this book? Especially around Seth. I get that the intention is to show him as being conflicted about everything, but it just comes across as if he’s not a fully fleshed out character. He gets angry when he realises they didn’t use protection after their first time, but then doesn’t insist on it going forward? He says he doesn’t want babies, but is basically totally fine when he gets pregnant? Even at the beginning, he doesn’t trust anyone, nor does he want to rely on anyone. Except he trusts and relies on everyone?

Plus there’s the whole thing with Seth’s grandfather, which was a total plot afterthought. And the bit with Seth running off to get shot made very little sense and seemed very pointless. Same with the party. I’m assuming both of these events were shoehorned in to help set up the rest of the books in the series (introducing Ace and Tennyson and whatever is happening with Evan and Bishop) but it just felt out of place.

I also never got the vibe that Mason and Seth even really liked each other?

Set the second Divine Omega from the first book was so different from Haiden. He was tough, defiant, angry, clever, and often too confident - actually making foolish costly decisions. But he was so humorous as were the actions of some of the Dragons.

What really grabbed my interest also is that I am a Buffalo girl and some very important events occurred in Buffalo, New York where Seth's grandfather had a criminal enterprise & where his Dad had raised him after his mother's death.

Seth was so lucky to have such a patient Alpha Dragon mate. The handsome doctor was determined to protect & take care of his fated mate. But his Human Omega mate was super independent and didn't want people he cared about to be hurt. So he always tried to do things himself which has led to him needing rescuing by his Dragon mate and his Dragon friends. Watching Seth and Mason finally find their perfect balance was a very entertaining book.

I am so loving these books by Jill Haven, i love the way her Omegas in their own right are strong and know what they want. Plus in this book i loved , loved . loved how the Omega gave birth to a Dragon egg.... wonderful!
From the moment the Mason (a dragon doctor) saw and smelled Seth he knew he was his . But Seth is having none of it at this time he has things he wants to do, which to him is very important. But he soon get arrested when trying to get what he values the most, Mason comes to the rescue with a Lawyer in tow. However life heats up when Seth is found and he is targeted once more by the one man he calls family, can Mason protect whats his, after all his Omega is now pregnant, and its not a normal pregnancy

If you love mpreg books then this is a Author for you. I have given this a definate 5 star rating a must read book!

Seth had been on the move all his life now Mason is trying to get his mate to settle.
Divine Omega Seth has been on the move all his life with his late father more recently avoiding his mob boss grandfather. He wants to get a book that had belonged to his half dragon mother back from his grandfather who is refusing to return it to Seth so he plans to raid the storage facility where it is kept. Dragon shifter Doctor Mason Hardwick knows Seth is his mate but tracking him down is a problem then Seth calls him as he has been arrested for entering a storage facility. As they leave the police station a car with some of his grandfather's goons in passes and soon Seth makes a run for it again but Mason follows.

I really like this series. It has the perfect balance of suspense and passion. After meeting Mason and Seth in the previous book, I was excited to read their story. Seth is one of those characters that has the ability to be innocent and vulnerable, while also being smart and cocky. I love his sass. Mason had been longing for his mate, especially after seeing his best friend, Carlisle, find his so it was great that he found Seth. It didn’t take long for these two to connect in an explosion of passion.

Even though Seth knew he was a Divine Omega, he didn’t fully know about dragon life. I enjoyed seeing his awe in learning all about it. I love shifter books so I liked seeing him experience everything.

This book was a fast read - perfect for a weekend day. Looking forward to the next book.

Mason an Alpha dragon shifters knew Seth was his soul mate from the first moment he smell him, but Seth isn't easy to get. Seth doesn't want Mason at first, so he'll always run away from Mason, if the doctor really wants to have him as a mate, he will have to chase after Seth. Ofcourse when Seth tries to break in his grand father's warehouse, he gets cought by the cops, now he has only 1 call to make to be free him from Jail....and it's not a call to his grand father :)

Drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, mafia, adventure, humor, danger, threats, violence, surprises, disbelief, love, some steamy scenes, captivating

I knew I was going to love Seth and Mason, and they totally did not disappoint. I adored their back and forth banter and just their blatant disregard for what they knew would happen with each other. I loved how closed off Seth was, and how he hated mushy things and could not deal with how Mason just randomly or maybe not so randomly would tell Seth how he felt. I also really enjoyed the mpreg portion and it was a pleasant surprise. I have not read one like this before, and it was perfect. The audio performed by Grabriel Amari was spot on IMO for both Seth and Mason. Thought he really captioned their essence. Now onto Bishop and Evan, who I know I am going to adore as well.

Seth has been running for most of his life and doesn't plan on stopping now just because Mason makes him feel safe. He has no desire to settle down with a dragon, especially one like Mason, who he assumes will start to dictate what he can and can't do. When Seth needs Mason's help, Mason comes running, and Seth soon realizes that Mason isn't like all the other dragons who want to possess him.

Seth and Mason were like oil and water. They drove each other crazy, but underneath, you could also see the sparks that happened when they came in contact. They need to learn to give a bit on what they think they want from each other. Overall, a great book, and I'm ready for the next one in the series.

Mason and Seth make an amazing couple once they finally get to know and accept each other. Mason is a very caring man who has his patience put to the test. Seth has had a hard life so trust is a huge issue for him, he is sassy, snarky, a bit of a troublemaker. I really enjoyed the chase between Mason and Seth, the growing connection, the steamy passion, and the undeniable love. Their journey is full of danger, surprises, laughs, good friends, and moments that are tense, heartbreaking, uplifting, or full of love and acceptance. Definitely worth reading.

I am loving this!!!

Seth is not your typical Omega that’s for sure. I think he has more fire than all those shifter dragons. Well maybe not Bishop lol. Mason is perfect for him. I love how the omegas get each other. In book one I liked Vince but the Vince here needs a good swift kick. I do think the clans have a lot to learn about omegas and about dragons in general. Right now it’s all theory and educated guesses. I wouldn’t be surprised in Seth, Haiden, and Charlotte all end up being able to shift. M following this author because I don’t want to miss when the next one comes out.

This is an interesting world, where dragons may die out without the divine omegas. This book is exciting, and I liked Seth's snarky, self-assured attitude from the first page. He is resisting his attraction to Mason, but that changes when he needs help and Mason is the only one he can reach. But Seth has things he needs to accomplish first, and settling down with a dragon alpha is not one of them. The book felt a little rushed in places, and I felt a little like the fated mates idea pushed the actual relationship-building aside a little. Still, a fun ride, and I recommend it, just not quite as much as the first book.

The storyline revolves around a dragon shifter, Mason and his possible mate a half-dragon Seth and all the obstacles that are getting in their way. The biggest obstacle is Seth and his uncertainty as to what he wants and the fact that his life is in danger. The interaction between Seth and Mason runs hot and cold on Seth’s part as at times he seems to be unable to decide what he really wants. Unlike Mason who has known all along what he wants but he approaches Seth with caution. It is an interesting read and there is a lot of action in the book.

Seth had a hard life even though he had been kidnapped, rescued and his dad dieing. Mason was a dragon and a doctor but when he smelled Seth’s scent, he knew that he had to make Seth his. For awhile he kept running because that all he knew especially since his grandfather was the head of the mob in New York. He stole a lot of money from him went to give it back to get his mothers family book, but his grandfather shot him instead but he was saved by friends of Mason. They were mated and had a son!! Yay great book!

Mason has been looking for Seth since he ran away after being saved. Seth does not have anyone to call when he gets arrested so he calls Mason. Mason shows up and helps Seth out when he is in need. Mason realizes that Seth is his fated mate, but Seth does not want to be controlled. Will Seth come around and agree to be mated? What will happen when Seth gets pregnant? Will Seth give birth to a baby or an egg? Will Seth get his mothers book back from his grandfather?

Another great add to the series. Mason and Seth are the next couple to fall for. I loved Mason from the first time we met him so was excited to see him get his mate. Seth and Mason don't start off on the best of terms and have struggles. I loved the lore and it twisting into the plot for these guys and we discover more with this book about Dragons and Omegas. These two are sexy and intense and I already want to re-read it. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

I read a romance with no women and I still can’t escape them. I don’t even know if I should call it toxic masculinity or toxic femininity at this point. Both, probably, at the same time. Always gotta go 110 in everything. Smdh. Anyways, this was really dumb and awful. I was excited for Billy Bob’s story or whatever his name is but I’m sure it’ll suck after this mess. Might just reread It Happened One Summer forever when I’m feeling romantic so I never have to experience stupid characters like these again. Am I petty and mean for this? Probably. But I’m really hungry, so

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, had everything a book should have. It had chemistry between Mason (dragon) and Seth his omega. I loved the story line and just fell in love with Seth and his acidic personality. I loved his and Mason's drama. Mason so chased his HEA and found it. I loved the whole dragon family that protected Mason and Seth. Great read.

Great story

I really enjoyed this second book of the series.

I really liked Mason in the first book and quite enjoyed his meeting with Seth.
Their story picked up in this book and was as good as I expected.
It wasn't exactly ennemies to lovers, but I really enjoyed the back and forth between and the relationship that develops there.
The side characters were great in this book as well and I can't wait to read more in the next one.
