Emmie and Isabelle are at Isabelle's house in search of Nick and Norn, the family cats. they always know where to find them.
After being found they are dressed up in doll clothes and pushed along in a baby carriage. That doesn't last long, then off they run to hid.
The girls know how to get them to come out of hiding. they open a can out at food and comes Nick and Nora to eat.

What makes this book so lovely is the art work. Beautiful water color drawings through the whole book by Barry Moser.

Every Sunday, Isabelle’s cousin Emmie comes to visit. The first thing they do is look for the cats, who quite often hide from the attention. Nick and Nora, two cats with sweet dispositions, allow the girls to dress them up, take them on walks, and other activities.

Lovely painted illustrations that tell the story of a young girl and her young cousin spending an afternoon together playing with her two cats, Nick and Nora. It's a nice, low action, non-dramatic tale that would be the perfect kind of story to tell a child who likes cats to help them wind down for a nap.

Ha ha ha, I used to love, love, love this book. I still do, but the simplicity of the plot makes me laugh, and I laugh harder that I was truly enamored by the thought of two little girls teaching their cats lessons.

Very pretty illustrations with realistic range of movement for both animals and people. Although, I don't think the cats enjoyed the games the girls played with them. Also, holding a tea party with cats, Rottweilers, and a bird is definitely an ill-advised idea.
