Das Buch enthält viele Ideen für Übungen zum Zeichnen von Charakteren. Der Zeichenstil von Beverly Johnson ist sehr schön und die Charaktere ausdrucksstark.
Teilweise wiederholen sich die Übungen jedoch, und auch Tutorials haben mir in diesem Buch gefehlt. Manche der digitalen Skizzen sind verpixelt, da kleinere Zeichnungen auf das große Format (etwas kleiner als A4) angepasst wurden. Das sieht nicht schön aus und wirkt undurchdacht und unprofessionell.
