Rate this book
His friend's little sister...

Sasha Easton has had her eye on Lincoln Walsh—the owner of Club Zodiac—for five years. Unfortunately, he does nothing but scowl at her and reject her every shy advance.

She's not right for him...

Lincoln doesn’t have a choice but to discourage Sasha because the truth is that he’s a sadist. And Sasha is no masochist. No matter how much he might want her in his bed, he can’t change the type of Dom he is.

She's not as innocent as he thinks...

Determined to get Lincoln to see her as more than his business partner’s little sister, Sasha delivers an ultimatum—let her join Club Zodiac or she’ll explore her submission elsewhere.

Can he train her and let her go?

Watching the only woman he’s ever wanted play with another Dom is more than Lincoln can bear, so he finds himself agreeing to train her himself. After all, he’s confident if he pushes her hard enough, he can protect her from the lifestyle and himself from admitting the truth about his feelings.

In a word: Damn

As in HOT DAMN. This book was.... let's just say that I am not a smoker, but I totally felt like I needed a cigarette after some of those steamy encounters.

Quick overview --- when Sasha was 12, her mother passed away suddenly leaving her older half-brother (Rowan) to raise her from then on. He was 22 at the time and struggling to make ends meet, so he got involved in the BDSM club scene where he worked as a Dom at a Miami hotspot called Zodiac to supplement his income. While Sasha was kept away from the action happening on the floor, she spent a lot of time in the offices as she was too young to be left at home alone for most of the night. When the owner she'd come to consider a grandfatherly figure retired around the same time Sasha turned 17, she quickly discovered that the new Dom was nothing like the old one... Lincoln is 25 years old and smoking hot --- Sasha was immediately struck by a major case of insta-lust. She avoided the club for awhile because she was so intimidated by him, but it's 5 years later, and Sasha has decided she wants to try out "the lifestyle." Both Rowan and Lincoln have a big problem with this idea and refuse to allow her entry to Zodiac, so she goes to a rival club. Lincoln goes there to "monitor" her and make sure she's safe, and she ends up inadvertently running into him (literally) after she experiences a bit of a panic attack. He calms her down and hopes it was enough to put her off to the lifestyle, but she insists that she still wants to be a sub. Unable to fathom the idea of allowing anyone else touching the sexy and innocent Sasha, Lincoln reluctantly agrees to "train" her, though what he really hopes is that he can push her just far enough that she gives up and decides to lead the "vanilla life" he thinks she really wants.

What I liked:
--- Did I mention the scenes were HOT? Because yeah...
--- When there was "angst," it wasn't drawn out --- HUGE pet peeve of mine is when the whole book is consumed by miscommunications and/or thick-headed main characters *MILD SPOILER*
--- Easily likable characters (main and ancillary)

What I didn't like as much:
--- Honestly, very little --- I am still a little hesitant about some D/s elements, but this one was not cringe-worthy as some of the ones I have read recently have been --- no dubious or forced sex acts
--- I just wish it were a little longer because I was really enjoying the dynamic as they were hitting their stride -- I hope we get to spend a little more time with them in the other books in the series

Overall, I was surprised by how much I ended up liking this book. The perfect choice if you want something easy to read that's hot with a great (& appropriate) HEA! I had never read this author before, but after this one, I immediately purchased the other two Zodiac books and the first in a separate series!

Plot --- 4.5/5
Main Characters --- 5/5
Supporting Characters --- 5/5
Steam Level --- 4/5
Violence --- none domestic; descriptions of BDSM activities in the club were not graphic
Language --- not egregious
POV --- 3rd throughout, but slanted from one main character or the other's perspectives at times

This book has been in my library for a couple of years now,and i finally decided to read it.
And having finished,i have to say it’s a story that hasn’t really impressed me that much.
It probably is me,and not the story, because there’s lots of people that seemed to have enjoyed it.

My problem is with the so-called Masters, and their high-handed attitude towards Sasha.
Ok,she was Rowen’s little sister, but she’s not that little girl anymore!
For them to decide what she was,or wasn’t,and for them to do their best to prevent her from exploring the lifestyle was arrogance personified.
And when she went to another club to reach her goal, the owner called Rowen?
And then Lincoln went there after he,Rowen and Carter decided she was to be stopped at any cost?
What about the most important bit of the lifestyle, talking?
Not one of them EVER asked Sasha what she wanted,or what she needed!
Not one of them EVER considered her needs!
The ONLY reason being that she was Rowen’s little sister!

The way Lincoln decided they had no future together was equally arrogant.
He was a Master Sadist, and she was too innocent, too sweet.
She may have had a crush on him,but that wasn’t important.
No,he decided to do his best to make her see his way of thinking.
Without talking to her.
Without even once thinking about her point of view, let alone her feelings.

And when ,FINALLY,these so-called Masters saw the light, only then did he start to think about her side of things.
Carter was the only one that had any idea of Lincoln and Sasha’s feelings, but did he say anything?
No,he did not,not for 5 years, and not until Lincoln went WAY TOO FAR!
How is that looking after a sub’s needs? After Sasha’s needs?

That moron Lincoln should be on his knees, groveling to Sasha for at least a month for what he put her through.
She forgave him way to easily in my eyes!
And if i’m honest,i’m not exactly convinced she’s that submissive either…
The yes,Sir’s came often enough, and yes,she did obey him.
But she did it to convince him she was a sub,not because she felt it deep down….
At least, that’s not how it felt to me.
She got of on the dirty talk, the spanking, and the idea of kink as a whole.

Will i read the next story in the series?
I don’t think so.
As it stands,i’m glad this one was a freebie at the time…..

SPOILER FREE REVIEW

This has been a very educating book for me, even though I haven’t fully understood the BDSM lifestyle after reading this book I have been given great insight. I now understood why many people with this lifestyle got mad with Fifty Shades of Grey. I read an article where the people said it’s nothing like the actual lifestyle and now I agree with them. I never knew there were lots of kinds of subs and doms maybe too, and it never crossed my mind that it actually isn’t a 24/7 thing.

I am not putting shade on the Fifty Shades trilogy nor to E. L. James . I enjoy reading the books and I must say it’s the first contemporary adult romance book I ever read. I still have to read the final book before the movie comes this February btw.

“You are a true Master Sadist. They are rare and precious in the community.”

It took me so long to understand what Carter and Rowen were trying to explain to Lincoln about his lifestyle. When people were trying to make Lincoln understand my level of understanding and information processing was with him. I literally made temporary creases on my forehead.

“I don’t know what it takes to break down your walls and get inside, but whoever manages to do it better come with explosives because that stubborn wall is high and thick.”

I don’t think a club for BDSM exists in our country but I’d be pretty interested to look around if there is one. My curiosity is at it’s peak.

With that said, I fully enjoyed every bit of this book and I cannot wait to get into the sequels with the hopes and expectations of learning more about this lifestyle because false information and assuming things is just wrong.

I really liked this book. I had a few problems with some of the issues and how they were handled, but overall, it was a good story. Lincoln buys a BDSM club and finds Sasha there who is only turning 17. She was there because when she was younger, her parents died and her brother needed to work to support them. She did stay in the office and didn't go into the "club". Lincoln basically kicks her out. Fast forward five years later and Sasha wants to see if the club life is for her. The rest of the story is Lincoln trying not to fall for Sasha as he is a sadist and Sasha pushing him. I really enjoyed it and will definitely read on in this series.

I cannot get enough of Becca Jamesons stories. She is amazing in her writing style and use of words. This one captivated me from start to finish. The BDSM and the chemistry between the characters are so well described. The characters are likeable and develops well through the story.
A story about romance, love, lust and the need for the person who makes you feel hole again.
Absolutely a story that I only can recommend if you like your romances with a bit more.

Had I read this book perhaps in the early 2000s, before I have read that many kinky BDSM books, I may have rated this book better. As it is, it is just "okay". I struggle with the writing style of this book. There is a bit too much inner dialog bouncing back and forth between Lincoln and Sasha's point of view. Whilst I like the training concept of this story, the execution of it leaves me with a slight distaste in my mouth.

Oh my, where to start on this. If you're looking for a horrible book that wont suck you in, has one dimensional characters, and so-so sex scenes, then let me tell you that this is not the book for you! This has lush scenes and lots of steam before there is even any sex between Sasha and Lincoln. I liked the storyline and the side characters and this is definitely on my list of books to read again. Well worth the time, though let me tell you I devoured it in one sitting and was more than happy with the feels from it.

Title: Training Sasha
Series: Zodiac Book #1
Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Becca Jameson
Genre: Romance, Erotica
Blurb: His friend's little sister...

Thoughts: If you happen to be looking for a little erotica along with your romance - if you enjoy Tara Sue Me’s The Submissive series, Roni Loren’s Loving On The Edge series, Cathryn Cade’s Club 3 series, or –yes- the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James - then Training Sasha is the perfect book choice for you! Training Sasha really gets into the nitty-gritty of BDSM, while giving a sweet touch at the same time. With my favorite added troupe of the best friend’s little sister, you can’t get more perfect than this. I loved it! We also get introduced to a few characters that you can see the series developing around.
A great addition by Becca Jameson! Though it is not for the faint of heart, so approach with caution…

This was a good easy read, I just found it hard to get along with the idea that the MC Dom, kept thinking of himself as a sadist and with that in mind that he couldn’t form a relationship with a woman. I do believe this was the main theme of the book, but that aspect did annoy me.

Lincoln (Dom), meets Sasha when she’s 17yes, when she celebrates her birthday at his club. She is the sister of his business partner and so a no go area. But she decides to try the lifestyle, and Lincoln and her brother try to put her off this idea, but this back fires.
The sexual chemistry between these two is off the scale. I love her innocence, I didn’t feel it was too much, but just right. She’s a virgin, ad she looses her vaginity in spectacular style, totally unusual for this type of book...well done to the author.

I enjoyed this book and will consider reading the rest of the series, but for some reason it didn’t grab me so much that I feel I just must read the next... sorry

Training Sasha Club Zodiac Book 1
by Becca Jameson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Get ready to read a great book with erotica and feisty heroine who don't know her place! This is book one in this series it's emotional, captivating and one you will enjoy reading. It can be read as a standalone. I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK. Becca Jameson delivers a poignant romance while giving the readers a lesson in BSDM. This is why I enjoy reading romance it allows you to escape into a world that is magical and where love will triumphant. The story starts out as Sasha meets Lincoln the new club owner and as the situation becomes clear, I am horrified at what happened to Sasha at age 17. Because at the age of 17 you are very vulnerable. The plot of this story is easy to follow along with and it's rich with world crafting and character building. Learning about Sasha and how her brother raised her makes my breath catch. What makes me want to the gut is how she wanted to learned what BSDM she like and she is a preschool teacher. Lincoln Walsh is the club new owner who don't want Sasha in the club because of her age plus he wants to shield her from his attraction to her plus his lifestyle in BSDM. This is amusing and exciting to watch them dance around each other. Sasha is fascinating because she is so sheltered and innocent in many ways. The heat that generate between Sasha and Lincoln is blazing hot. When it comes to their sexy scenes, Becca Jameson captures it down to each steamy act, it's arousing, exciting, erotic, and you may need a fan or two. This story could be just another erotic story but It's more than that, it's a solid and it continues to build it also showcases how friends can come together and protect its own. And even when they have everything covered, there are still some flaws but they can overcome them. The ending is very moving which brings a HEA. This richly written romance is highly recommended to all .

Training Sasha is the first book in the Club Zodiac series. Sasha decides it’s time for her to explore her submissive side but is refused entry to the club her brother is a co-owner of. Not one to give up, she decides to go to another BDSM club to test the waters. Lincoln, her brothers friend and business partner, doesn’t want her out there with another man, so he agrees to train her himself. The problem? He’s a sadist and she’s no masochist.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Lincoln and Sasha both silently love each other, but Lincoln is convinced his kind of kink doesn’t and will never match hers. In the beginning I found it difficult to read because Lincoln tries to dissuade Sasha from pursuing her submissive side by pushing her harder than necessary. But once he got over that part and realized what an ass he was being I couldn’t put the book down. In most BDSM books, the main characters are into the exact same kink and have no struggles in that area. It was great to ready a story where that wasn’t the case, making it feel like a real life problem a reader might face. I really liked the Dom that Lincoln let himself be by the end. I can’t wait to read the next in this series.

Not As Innocent As He Thinks!

Lincoln cannot stop his attraction for Sasha, his partner's little sister in the Zodiak Club by Becca Jameson.  he doesn't want Sasha anywhere near him as he is a sadistic Dom and she is way too innocent. At least that is what he thinks. But Sasha has secrets - especially one about what happened to her when she was 17.  Years later she is now a school teacher but she has a yearning to be a Sub.  She is very attracted to Lincoln but he won't give her the time of day and refuses to let her be a member of the club and a Sub there.  Desperate to get his attention, she gives him an ultimatum: let her be a Sub or she will go elsewhere for another Dom to teach her?  Whilst he can't bear the thought of her finding out what he's really like, he also cannot allow any other man to be her Dom!!  She is HIS!  Becca Jameson has woven a really great first in a series book here that was a real page turner. I couldn't put the book down until I had reached it's conclusion.  Lincoln and Sasha are so well matched and he was trying to keep her safe [away from him], his desire for her would not tolerate another man's hands on her. Will they keep to the club's agreement or are they really going to become up and personal so that they become a couple?  With passionate scenes that will burn in your mind's eye and feelings that cannot be denied, this is a great story written with feeling and great depth to make it such an amazing story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

Received an ARC for review.

Holy heck! This book gave me ALL the feels. I was so pleased reading this from start to finish. Sasha and Lincoln are two amazing d/s characters for me. I loved seeing the difference between them in the BDSM world and how they made it work for themselves. The romance was perfection, the drama was interesting and that ending made me excited for the companion sequel.

Sasha seems to be this innocent woman, but she is far from it. I loved how determined she was in getting noticed by Lincoln and getting her brother Rowen to understand she's a woman now. She was snarky, bold and innocent. She was a virgin which gave this book an interesting twist. She was a sexual submissive which added some extra interest in the romance aspect.

Lincoln is tall, dark, domineering and also a Master Sadist. He doesn't do relationships, doesn't have sex with subs and he doesn't do sexual submissives. He tried to keep his distance for years from Sasha, but a chance encounter puts them together and unraveling their feelings. I loved Lincoln and how sweet he was. He definitely had his asshole moments, but his heart was pure. Loved him!

Excited to read the companion novel Obeying Rowen when it get's released.

Sasha's brother (Rowen) and Lincoln are business partners in a BDSM Club. Sasha has had a crush on Lincoln since she was 17. Now a beautiful 22 year old she has decided she wants to explore the BDSM lifestyle in particular wether she is a submissive. Lincoln has been attracted to Sasha for awhile but because of her age he pushed her away. When she finally admits to her brother and Lincoln she wants to explore her submissive side they freak out. Lincoln can't stand the thought of her submitting to someone else but because he is a Dom Sadist he's convinced he's not what she needs. I liked Sasha she was a strong women who sought to explore her needs despite others trying to stand in her way. I loved the dynamic between Sasha and Lincoln the heat that these two generate is scorchin' hot. The sex scenes between them are arousing, exciting, erotic, and you may need to take a cold shower or two. I loved this book it was a fantastic start to what I believe will be a great series. Can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily received an advance arc copy for an honest review.

Category: fast food for sleepless nights

Good erotic book to read in between, even though it's a bit repetitive concerning some of the phrases being used. Also there is not much character development or even depth to begin with.

!BUT! My main problem with this book was that I expected Lincoln (a master sadist!!!!) and Sasha to not only have a D/s relationship, but also for some S/m play to take part (as he is a MASTER SADIST). Sorry, to disappoint you, but the kink level of this bdsm book equals a maccas vanilla shake.

So be warned you won't find any kinky scenes beyond some D/s and subtle role play here.

Nice intro to BDSM story with 'my brother's best friend' twist. I had trouble with the dishonesty between Sasha and Lincoln when they entered into a BDSM relationship with hidden motives. Sasha less so, because 22. Lincoln is 30 and acts like an ass. He behaves so badly, I felt Sasha deserved more groveling before she finally forgave him.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a story of loving someone from afar and then one day they see you differently.
Of course you have to add in the fact he is her brothers best friend and business partner. That always adds to the drama.

This story explores a really fascinating dynamic in BDSM—what if you’re a sadist, but the person you want to be with in a relationship isn’t a masochist? It’s a theme that I’d like to see explored more—I’ve only read it as a focal point in one other romance novel—but here Jameson does a really interesting examination of this question.

I enjoyed Sasha as a strong woman who sought to fulfill her needs when those around her would have thwarted her. She’s young, and it’s easy to see how the men in her life have a tough time recognizing that she’s truly an adult and ready to explore a world that she’s been on the periphery of for so many years. I liked how she went to another club when her brother Rowen and Lincoln wouldn’t let her be a part of theirs. Instead of being silly, throwing a fit, or some other more juvenile action, demonstrating her maturity in action as well as in words worked wonderfully.

The dynamic between Sasha and Lincoln was just marvelous, and this book included one other element that I haven’t seen too often in BDSM romance—the dom screwing up and having to atone for that. Seeing Lincoln take his longstanding and subliminal love for Sasha and unwittingly use that against his own best beliefs and practices was fantastic. While on the surface Sasha was the young person who needed to show her maturity, in many ways Lincoln, also introduced to this lifestyle at a very young age, needed to grow up even more than Sasha did, and Jameson illustrated his struggle very well.

Lincoln as a dominant was an interesting character. I struggled a bit with his inability to be sexually aroused while performing as a sadist. It made me wonder why he wanted to pursue those activities in the first place, and I would have liked to see a bit more examination of why inflicting pain was satisfying and necessary to him. Instead, it looked like an easier means to make his attachment to Sasha unique, and at times it seemed as if the story was pretzeling its logic to make that premise work.

But this is a great start to Jameson’s new series. If I could give it 4 ½ stars, I would. I can’t wait to see what happens with some of the secondary characters (I’m looking at you, Carter) as their stories unfold!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Jameson not long ago at a conference. I was so excited to read the other book of hers that I purchased, but my gut told me to start with this one. I’m so glad I did!

I loved this book! Couldn’t put it down at all. I’ve been up all night reading it and now all I want to do is read book two. Who needs sleep?

This one had so many must loves for me - brother’s best friend, age gap (it’s fairly slight, but it’s significant enough considering when we meet our H and h), and BDSM. All of those lovely tropes are wrapped in a wonderful package that gave me all of the yummy tingly feelings that I crave in my books.

I loved Sasha. I loved that she was innocent without being unbelievable. The fact that she’s fully aware of her sexuality, but green enough to learn is just handled beautifully. I can’t explain my thoughts on it well after being up all night reading, but I love that I didn’t feel like she was being taken advantage of. AND I never found myself rolling my eyes going ‘no one is that innocent’. It was perfect.

There were a few moments I didn’t love. I felt like a certain apology could’ve been handled better for example. But all in all, it was fantastic. One of those stories I know I’ll read again.

What do you do if your in love with your brothers friend and are also intrigued by BDS and see it as a way to get closer to the one you want. Sasha's brother has looked after her since she was young after their Mother died and this meant she would hang out after school in an office at the BDSM club Zodiac where he works, but after meeting the new owner Lincoln who humiliates her in front of the staff the first time she meets him her fire burns not just with anger at him but also attraction. Years later she is more then ever intrigued about BDSM and thinks she can finally how Lincoln she is grown up and a willing participant. I just loved how they were both torn about the agreement they make and you really feel how vulnerable yet determined Sasha is with the situation and how much of a struggle Lincoln has. There are plenty of extremely steamay scenes as well as some Lol moments and times of frustrations to keep you hooked. The way the whole BDSM scene was written really well also and you couldn't help but see the appeal of it.

When Becca Jameson takes you on a journey to submission, she does it with detail. Stunning detail.

Sasha has known about the BDSM lifestyle for a very long time. When her parents died, her brother Rowen had her spending time in the offices above the club while he worked. She's also known she is a submissive for a very long time. The problem, her submission is reserved for only one man.

Lincoln steps up when Sasha carries out her ultimatum to go to another club. He tells volunteers to go to the Club to keep an eye on her, protect her if you will.

When things go awry Lincoln is there to soothe her, and he somehow manages to offer to train her.

Now things get pretty intense, and Lincoln is very hard on Sasha. His motive is only to get her to forget the lifestyle.

I could almost feel Lincoln's looks, his words, actions, and frustrations. The Dominant fighting his own needs for the good of the sub and ultimately himself.

Sasha is determined and sure of her submission. The only people who can't seem to see it are the people who matter the most, Lincoln and her brother.

Sexy, hot, and tearful at times. I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the next book.

A young woman who kinda grew up in an S&M club still has the hots for the new owner after five years, even though he treats her horribly. But then she’s a submissive, so that seems to work for her. Unfortunately he’s a dom into pain rather than sex, so he doesn’t want to have anything to do with such an innocent, even if she is curious about the lifestyle. It doesn’t help that her brother works at the club.
Like some of the most annoying of this genre, it does the “I can’t!” mental speech over and over. The fact that it’s the man doing it doesn’t make it any less annoying. Even worse, I do believe this is a new record for the most stubborn, stupidest character I’ve ever read, and that is saying so much. . .
I know I harp a lot about misunderstandings and no communication being so overdone in romances—there really wouldn’t be any without them—but it’s particularly sad when one party for the most part isn’t allowed to voice her thoughts anyway.
I didn’t think I was going to end up liking the ending, but thankfully the author did a masterful job of redeeming what looked to be the biggest asshole in literary history. Still wish the ride there had been more enjoyable, though.

From the first time Lincoln Walsh entered the story I liked him. Confident, virile, sexy and Dominant to his core. It was delightful to watch his confusion over his feelings and possessiveness of Sasha while she was so confident in how she felt about him. Lincoln's constant inner turmoil between what "should be" and what he wanted was, at times: sad; funny; or poignant. Seemingly innocent, Sasha has an inner strength and sensual nature that brings Lincoln to his knees. Realizing he's made a huge mistake in agreeing to train her as a submissive, he sends her away. It takes the collective efforts of his two best friends to get him to see the flaws in his thinking that he can't be a sadist and have a woman like Sasha in his life.

Becca Jameson finely crafts her characters and storylines. They're rich, complex and multidimensional. She gives her readers an exceptional reading experience time after time.

Oh holy cow! I loved this book. It is a great beginning to the series and I can't wait to see where Ms. Jameson takes us next. Not only did I fall in love with Lincoln and Sasha, but Lincoln's partners (one of which is Sasha's brother). I loved how messed up Lincoln was and how these two come together. Take a sadist and a stubborn subbie, mix together and you have an explosive relationship and a roller coaster of a story. Lincoln throws Sasha all kinds of mixed signals and just really confuses the mess out of her, but she is strong, knows what she wants , and is determined to make Lincoln hers. Now to just get her brother out of the way. You know, what brother wants to see his sister play in the same club he is at? There is an HEA, oh come on we knew that was gonna happen. HOWEVER, the story... now that is something you need to be prepared to be sucked into.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Training Sasha by Becca Jameson is the first book in the series called "Club Zodiac" This is the story of Sasha and Lincoln. This was a pretty hot read and somewhat different take on the little sister in love with her brother's friend.
Sasha was taken in by her brother when their parents died. Which sometimes meant going to the 'Club' where he worked...of course she was not in the part of the club where the subs/doms would be. Even though Sasha was kept out of the main activates of the club she became more aware of the clubs actives the older she got. Sasha has always has a crush on Lincoln but he and her brother Rowen see her as a young innocent but she out to prove that isn't the case. Which leaves it hard for Lincoln to stand his ground on how he treats her.
Looking forward to more books in this series!!

I really enjoyed this book! 💜

Sasha is only seventeen when she meets the man she's meant for but it doesn't go well, right from the start. Her older brother, Rowan, has been raising her since their parents died in an accident. Maybe bringing her to his workplace, Club Zodiac, which is a BSDM club, wasn't the smartest idea but it was the only way he felt she would be safe while he was working nights. Lincoln, the new owner, immediately reacts to her being only seventeen and tells them all that she isn't supposed to come back for one year when she will be legally able to enter the club. Lincoln knows he hurt her but he knows he could hurt her worse if they spent time together. But it's a bit late for that.
