Louis Cha, GBM, OBE (born 6 February 1924), better known by his pen name Jin Yong (金庸, sometimes read and/or written as "Chin Yung"), is a modern Chinese-language novelist. Having co-founded the Hong Kong daily Ming Pao in 1959, he was the paper's first editor-in-chief.
Cha's fiction, which is of the wuxia ("martial arts and chivalry") genre, has a widespread following in Chinese-speaking areas, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and the United States. His 15 works written between 1955 and 1972 earned him a reputation as one of the finest wuxia writers ever. He is currently the best-selling Chinese author alive; over 100 million copies of his works have been sold worldwide (not including unknown number of bootleg copies).
Cha's works have been translated into English, French, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, Malay and Indonesian. He has many fans abroad as well, owing to the numerous adaptations of his works into films, television series, comics and video games.
金庸,大紫荊勳賢,OBE(英語:Louis Cha Leung-yung,1924年3月10日-2018年10月30日),本名查良鏞,浙江海寧人,祖籍江西婺源,1948年移居香港。自1950年代起,以筆名「金庸」創作多部膾炙人口的武俠小說,包括《射鵰英雄傳》、《神鵰俠侶》、《鹿鼎記》等,歷年來金庸筆下的著作屢次改編為電視劇、電影等,對華人影視文化可謂貢獻重大,亦奠定其成為華人知名作家的基礎。金庸早年於香港創辦《明報》系列報刊,他亦被稱為「香港四大才子」之一。
天龍八部、人與非人,皆遙見彼龍女成佛 第一冊的情節最是精彩。男主角段譽,由手無縛雞之力的一朝王子,到偶得北冥神功、凌波微步絕學,無意間吸得多人內力,以致得習六脈神劍等過程,俗套中具別趣,頗有可觀。目錄組成的〈少年游〉,也是五冊中最好的詞:“青衫磊落險峰行,玉壁月華明。馬疾香幽,崖高人遠,微步縠紋生。誰家子弟誰家院,無計悔多情。虎嘯龍吟。換巢鸞鳳,劍氣碧煙橫。”。 書名“天龍八部”,似有難測之機。金庸在書前特闢〈釋名〉一篇,說“天龍八部”是佛經名詞,意指八種神道怪物:天、龍、夜叉、乾達婆、阿修羅、迦樓羅、緊那羅、摩呼羅迦。英譯書名為:The Semi-gods and the Semi-devils,意指八部屬性在神魔之間。金庸說他是:“借用這個佛經名詞,以象徵一些現世人物,就像「水滸」中有母夜叉公孫二娘、摩雲金翅歐鵬。”但若以此做為書名,好像就有些牽強。因為任何一部小說都可以用神怪來象徵人物,但不至於要以神怪做為書名。何況在看完之後,也很難把某某人物跟某某神怪劃上等號。勉強說來,慕容氏父子的脾性像阿修羅,又阿修羅是和帝釋(天神之首)爭戰的,所以段譽可能是天神。那麼,由於乾達婆是服侍帝釋的樂神,且個性難以捉摸,比較像木婉清。可是王語嫣呢?鐘靈呢?又喬峰和虛竹可以歸在“維護眾生界”的夜叉一類嗎?或者,金庸是把讀者當作天龍八部,而「天龍八部、人與非人,皆遙見彼龍女成佛」。或許金庸暗喻自己寫書的過程就如成佛的過程,「讀者皆見證彼金庸成佛」,哈! 書中最能引我思索的是枯榮大師法名的意涵。金庸所採典故可能來自《大般涅槃經》第一卷。但是否“東西南北,各有雙樹,每一面的兩株樹都是一榮一枯,稱之為四枯四榮”,在此卷卻查不到。估計是後人的衍釋。其實,經中明白揭示的是一種“對治之門”:“所謂,苦、樂;常、無常;淨、不淨;我、無我;實,不實;歸依、非歸依;眾生、非眾生;恒、非恒;安、非安;為、無為;斷、不斷;涅槃、非涅槃;增上、非增上。常樂觀察如是等法對治之門。亦欲樂聞無上大乘。”在我看來,這種對治之門與龍樹中觀學說所講的“雙遮雙照”是相同的。它的本義都是“緣起性空”。所以,枯榮者,非枯非榮,亦枯亦榮,非空非假,亦空亦假,空亦非假,空亦是假,空亦是空,空亦非空。佛理晦昧,抓住緣起性空,思過半矣。
Pace medium - fast. Very nice book so far. The main character is very different from other main characters from other Jin Yong books. He doesn’t want and knows how to practice Kungfu/wugung. However with A LOT of luck and interesting coincidences, he acquire some amazing wugung. Quite fun to read.
Some twists seem cliche/forced and the plot gets chaotic at times, but overall it's still Jin-Yong goodness. I'm still looking forward to the upcoming volumes.
