You have entered Drezkarn and been reborn in the kingdom of Galyntor. War and rebellion roil the nation, sowing chaos among the surrounding kingdoms. Darkness often finds a foothold when chaos reigns, thriving on the torment of the mortal realm. In times of great need, the light calls upon beings of destiny to stem the tide.
Though you may blaze your own path, know that you have the power to shape the future. Choose well.
Forced to join a virtual world, Luke Rivers delves into Drezkarn, a land of swords and magic. For a fantasy game, things don't start off the way he imagined and he quickly finds himself in terrible situations. While his frame of reference for fantasy RPGs was limited by a rough childhood, the experience of a life spent fighting for survival pays off.

A new entrée into the genre, gives us the story of Jaron, Who is placed in the game for sensible reasons which I will not go into, as they are a pleasure to discover.
Very much a first book in a series, it is much more an example of how hard it would be to survive in such worlds than many of these books are. That alone makes it a pleasure to read, but the characterizations are excellent, and the threats even when just goblins and orcs, are significant and compelling.
No harem. No OP MC, and a compelling world with terrific NPC’s. In addition as the author has written several books, this is definitely much professionally written than many in the genre.
I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.
So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Great start and I'm eager for book 2, but it really needs some love from a good editor. There are a few duplicated lines and some awkward word choices, but also at one point Jason receives 2 random spells as rewards, but only actually gets one.
The heroine was man determined to persevere no matter how many obstacles were thrown at him and there were plenty. I look forward to the next installment. The lead up has me on the edge of my seat.
This book is great. What liked about it was the unique set of circumstances and obstacles the main has to deal with. Great plot and character development. There was not a lot to dislike. Can't wait for book two.
I enjoyed this story very much. A young military man heading into space on a ten year journey to battle the earth envading aliens. To make the long trip the passengers are put into a capsule that then puts your mind into VR fantasy game!
The story then follows our main character into the fantasy world. Great adventure s are to come, cat people ,,gnomes, goblins, etc even a Dragon!!!
The story is pretty well written, very minor grammar errors,I was entertained loved the plot and can't wait till 2nd story comes out.
I recommend this for any age group with only some bad language.😀
Would have given a higher rating as the story was quite enjoyable. However, the book could really have been improved with someone looking over and proof reading it. There were quite a few spelling/grammatical mistakes which at times took you out of the story.
